They already have aisles of Halloween stuff out and it’s only August! So excited! It’s conveniently located at the corner of food, shops, and more! It operates the same as any Michael’s just harder to find parking lol. Got a good deal on a fake floral bouquet that looks so cute with my own decor. Friendly checkout staff too!

Someone please need to teach some manners to the Asian lady running the store, she has the worst manners possible if you order anything to be picked up on the curbside make sure you order it a day hence since this lady will get angry at the fact that you order and 3 hours later you show up to pickup. I send my roommate to pick some items ( 1 ) in quantity, ordered at 1 p.m on today's day and at 5.41 she refused to look up for the item because it didn't showed up as ready, instead she forced my roommate to buy a new item arguing that items were out of stock when the website let me proceed to buy them. Either the inventory person is not doing the right job or this very irritated lady is not doing hers.!!!

I bought a few helium balloons here, and received excellent service. The clerk answered all of my questions and referred me to another associate who filled the balloons. He communicated well about the height options and balloon placement. Positive interactions with Michael’s staff will keep me going back.

I come to this location to shop every 1-2 weeks to either restock on craft supplies, or to immerse myself in a new craft. They have an extremely wide range of products. I buy everything from oil paints, to slime ingredients, to cupcake decorating tools here. The store is always clean and well stocked, however since it is so large I sometimes can’t always find what I’m looking for by myself- the biggest problem is that I can rarely find any staff on the floor to help me locate items. If I’m able to find an employee though, they are always helpful. I also wish now that Joanns is gone, they would expand their fabric section as your options there are somewhat slim. Overall this is my favorite Michael’s location in the city.

Came in earlier today looking for a new sketchbook. While shopping, asked an older asian lady there working the framing department if she would give me the bathroom code. She was extremely rude and questioned if I was even shopping there. She said “well it’s always locked. We dont give that out ever!! Are you a customer???” I was appalled at the lack of customer service. I work a customer service job. It’s not hard to be nice to people. I waited by the restroom for a long time until a very friendly girl came and asked if I needed let in, and unlocked it for me. The rude lady never came to help. I did not end up buying the sketchbook I came for because I felt so slighted that she would talk to me like I was trying to take advantage of her. I wont be coming back to this location, which sucks because Im an artist and need to buy a lot of supplies. Be nicer to people!

Google
I came in trying to buy balloons. This very nice guy behind the desk was super helpful, unfortunately i didn’t catch his name because i was distracted by this AWFUL man named Mike. Ironic right. He insulted the poor guy helping us, he insulted me and my friend, and he insulted the girl we were getting balloons for. Who does that?? Never coming back

Google
My wife and I typically head out to a different craft store but we were pressed for time and went here instead. They have a great selection for what we needed and for the size of the store had a nice inventory. The staff was very helpful and was not able only to locate the items but walked us to them. I think unless we needed to be back in the Burbs we would definitely return to this location.

I used to work at Michael’s and many things have changed since then but the BOPIS orders will always be my favorite ! So convenient to order online and go in and pick up really quickly. And they still great me and make sure I find my order correctly! Love love LOOOVVVEEEE!! This location. Keep up the great work!!!

Yelp
I'm super crafty. I love painting, photography, getting into tufting, baking, sculpture, etc. where else can I get a diverse range of crafts at one stop? Beats me. Nothing as convenient as Michael's. Some store focus fabrics some arts, but Michael's is kinda a catch all. They also have printing and framing as well. I just got some canvas prints for $10 each! What a value! Service is always quick and courteous. Always helpful finding what I need and offering alternatives. I mean when the weather drops below freezing I like to relax at home to make some crafts. I'm super glad this one is conveniently located only a few blocks from the Belmont CTA stop, super convenient!

Yelp
Jasmine is the best. Very helpful and accommodating. Great experience with her. Lovely time

Yelp
One employee here is super sweet and helpful. I had to return picture frames that didn't fit my pics. I unfortunately had lost my receipt but their policy states that they will make a good faith effort in helping you retrieve the receipt in their system. So all of a sudden, another team member who is an absolutely horrible and unpleasant person comes along, starts cutting me off when I explain the issue, and starts being mean to the other employee who was super sweet and did everything right. I explain the issue to the other team member and she starts getting snippy with me and trying to bicker with me when I read her the policy about how she needs to help me look for receipt. This woman is insufferable. I'm pretty sure she's the manager. I highly do not recommend this store.

Rob M.

Yelp
Great overall selection of items! Convenient Location, one stop shop for all your art/craft/decoration needs. The free parking garage also comes in the clutch! Friendly staff all the time, today I was assisted by "Sara D" I would highly recommend shopping @ this Michaels location!

Yelp
Michael's Craft store is bright, clean and in a new location. The staff are friendly and helpfully. Great store, very organized, lots of great bargains to be found inside the Michael's craft store. There are plenty of items on sale for summer, 4th of July, as well as generalized home decor and craft supplies. I found their home decor section really fantastic and the prices were less than Home Goods or other Home Decor stores. They had a huge selection of Summer items including lots of fun toys for kids and items to decorate your house seasonally. I've also been here during the winter and they have tons and tons of great craft ideas and decor ideas for Christmas and New Year's.

Yelp
Every time I come into this location, I'm always greeted and the workers approach me asking if I need help. Recently I was getting a custom frame and Dorothy and Eric were both extremely helpful. Dorothy was patient and helped me narrow down so many options for the custom frame. She is very talented at her job and really was extremely helpful!! I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Yelp
Why 5 stars because of the service- special mention goes to Mark in Framing who gave me tips on how to cut my own art in their class room. I was able to frame it there my self. Perfect!!! Yesterday I was here and a lady walk me to the specific aisle to find my merchandise all the way across the store. Today 031319 I needed contacts to hang toys from the ceiling and the string for it. I stop at the front and told the cashiers what I needed to told me exactly where to go. I went around to see if I could get better strings for my project since this place has OPTIONS. Nope where they told me was the right place. Thank You!

Yelp
The staff at this location is not awesome. I tend to avoid asking for assistance, since when I do I am met with a lot of attitude. Good selection and the store is always organized and clean. The bathroom is currently not open to the public, and has not been during the pandemic.

Yelp
Tons of craft ideas. I came in on a whim to fit an old t-shirt for a frame and was set up with a lovely bamboo hoop and it was PeRfEcT!! Plus- they give coupons out every day through email and it's always something Amazing- I used my 50% off and the hoop was under $1.

Yelp
I have gone to this store many times. Jasmine C has always answered my questions and helped me in finding the items I need. Kudos to Jasmine C's customer service ability. Thank you!

Yelp
Today I thought I was doing a DIY project with the 5-Drawer Rolling Letterpress. After unboxing everything I discovered that several pieces were missing from the box . Thinking like hey.. maybe the pieces were all the way at the bottom of the box. Come to find out the bottom of the box had another surprise for me..GARBAGE . It was gum, bottle cap, and used supplies at the bottom. I will never go back again to shop. Make sure you don't buy "Returned" items.

Yelp
Typical Michael's have been here several times for picture frames. Always a good selection. Staff is friendly and helpful. Big plus, in same building with a DSW and a Marshall's. Even bigger plus, free parking in a covered garage.

Mary Kaylle I.

Yelp
Ummm I'm shocked how much attitude the staff at this location has? So passive aggressive and sounded like some of them are miserable working there. Someone check in with them. I'm glad the manager is at least nice.

Yelp
I am highly disappointed in Michaels, their products have been made cheaper and are more expensive. I have also purchased numerous items that don't work or don't work well. Many markers are dry no matter what brand I buy. I really hate to start a project and my markers won't color. I have bought transfer sheets to put pictures on shirts and you can't heat press for the time listed or longer. I have bought paints that are thick and are drying full of gook (I call it paint booger) that prevents you from painting. And there is more but I don't have time to tell you about all the products I have bought with much disappointment. Now let's get into the online delivery, canvases arrive in a box with punctures, rips and dirty. I can't use these. That's not what I paid for... I have had wood frames cracked and packages that look like they have been opened. Sometimes, packages get lost. I ordered stuff from the Michaels that is 2 miles from my home. I get my notification that it has been processed then I get a tracking number for UPS when in fact it went out USPS (6 days later no package arrived and this is not the first time) but Michaels Corporate says "it's in it's way, I see it in the UPS truck now you will get it before 7pm or before" I have to let them know it's after 7pm and it's not here, but they continue with it's coming don't worry I see it in the truck and you will get it today before 7pm. So what kind of customer service does Michaels Corporate really have pulling information out of their butts! Turns out the UPS tracking number that was invalid to UPS was a ghost number because it went out USPS So after 6 days of waiting for something to be delivered from 2 miles away... it is gonna take 7 more days to have my money returned to me. I was sent a 40% off coupon (which they hardly ever offer anymore) for my birthday. I open it up and it's a 20% off coupon. If I want cheap craft stuff I will go to the Dollar Tree at least in their new craft section I won't pay an arm and a leg for what I need, Amazon packs their products real good and Blicks and Hobby Lobby has great products and excellent customer service... I can go on with much more complaints but I won't because I can write a book on what's wrong with Michaels store, products and service. But I have a headache now, so let me go and order my art supplies from a reliable source so I can get my projects done and be at peace

Yelp
I actually like this Michael's quite a bit! I went in on Black Friday and even getting there at 7:03am, I was one of the first 20 people in the store! I got a $5 gift card. Cooleyhighharmony. I went in to get a frame for this kick@$$ poster I got from Beermiscuous that maps every local brewery in Chicago. Pretty sure my loft looks like a bachelor pad. Either way, I was slightly disappointed they didn't have the frame advertisted in the ad for 50% off! Wahhhh! However, they of course had many others. So with a 25% off coupon in hand and the $5 gift card, I ended up paying $4.82 for the frame. Not too shabby. This Michael's shares the building with Marshall's & DSW so you can knock out a few bargain shops all in one visit. It has a nice (and free) parking garage that has elevators that will take you straight to the store. But man those elevators run slow! Either way - friendly staff, pretty big store and good parking will make this a regular Michael's hit up for me.

Yelp
There's no one in the store to help you and when you do find someone they're useless and ask you to help yourself. avoid.

Yelp
This store has a distinctive smell- grandmotherly wicker. It is very clean and well organized for being so massive- and consisting of many tiny, itty bitty cutesy crafting tools. Very nice staff, easy to find and ask questions. Convenient location. If you give them an email address they will send discount coupons frequently. Art supplies galore for sketching, painting... framing too. Lots of crafting. Lots of really cheap ways to make or decorate things I did not know existed! This said, I was looking for sewing supplies such as fabric, patterns and such... which they do not carry. They do have some notions like buttons, charms and that sort of thing but none of the patterns or fabric I desired.

Yelp
As excited as I am about a new Michaels being close by us - the customer service aspect was not appealing. First off though - the old Linens n Things space is used...well...it could be better. There's a TON of space in the aisles - so yay! But there's not enough product - or too much of some, not enough of another. The actual "arts" side of Michaels is barren. Crappy selection of paints, Prismacolors, etc. But yet, there's a whole 1/3 of the store dedicated to scrapbooking. Wow. That's a lot of scrapbooking stuff. While roaming around I kept apparently getting in the way of the person putting up stuff while trying to look. She kept kneeling in front of me while I'm studying the product I was thinking of buying. Then I hear what I can only assume district managers or higher ups talk about the shitty inventory they got in there compared to other stores they've opened. I heard more curse words in there while trying to browse. All-in-all, sure I'll be back but never to just look around for fun. A specific item. I got so turned off by the staff that was hanging around and bitching, making crude comments and then consistently walking right in front of me with no apology when I'm looking at something. Irritating - I hope Michaels steps up it's game a bit, but in comparison to other ones I've been to in the U.S. this seems like the pretty standard staff - dissapointing though. I expected better.

Yelp
This Michael's is in a good location so I do still go here but I'm not happy about it. I've received just terrible customer service here from several employees. The last time I went I had come to pick up an online order. I still waited in line for 15 minutes and when I asked about my order at the counter, the staff member said it wasn't ready yet even though I had received an email stating that it was ready for pick up. I asked her if I could just go get the items myself since I had already paid for them but she said it wasn't "the way they do things." I explained that I don't have a car here in Chicago and that it would take me another 40 minutes to get back home just to have to turn around and come back to pick up my order again but she refused to help me out and said I should just call 1-800-Michael's... and wouldn't you know it, as soon as I got home I received another email saying my order was ready. I still haven't had a chance to go back and pick it up because I don't live close by. Not happy about it.

Yelp
Great store--clean, brightly lit, lots of fun nooks and crannies. This store seems to be divided into four main categories: knitting supplies for the little old ladies; school supplies for teachers and kids; wreaths and fake floral crap for the dead and people who love fake flowers; enough sequins, beads, feathers and hot glue guns to outfit every drag queen in the neighborhood. But there's a whole lot more--framing (great prices and a wide selection of frames), crafty stuff for the weekend enthusiast and a decent selection of artists materials (paint brushes, paints, drawing pads, etc.) The customer service was ok, though they're still working out their front-end operations. My guess is give them a few weeks, and Michaels HR will weed out the misfits. Also, this store seems to have a lot of open space, which is fine for now. It's a national chain, and I bet it's one of their smaller stores. They probably have a "wait and see" buying approach before stocking everything under the Sun. In a year, half of those aisles carrying floral crap will have other merchandise; they'll cater the store to what people request in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
They have great frames, crafts, decorating ideas for all rooms. Very creative place and not cookie cutter like some of the other stores.
google avatar

Yelp
I did a return tonight because I was recommended by an associate the incorrect item. That part of the service was fine, no a big deal. The manager however, not sure her name, she's black with the dreadlocks. She by far has the WORST attitude/ customer service I've ever experienced. She hates her job clearly, and projects that off on her customers. After making ignorant comments about not "reading the fine print" she then tossed (aggressively) my return across the room while saying "f**k it, no one is gonna buy this now anyways". At this point, the cashier eyes widened because even she could not believe her managers behavior. I will call corporate every single day until she no longer has her job! Her ignorance should not be allowed especially when you're supposed to be a leader of a team. I hope you find peace and a job you actually like..

Yelp
I'm not your average crafty DIY person but if I were I would spend everything I have at Michael's. They have it all. Easter basket fillings, they have it. Making cupcakes and need cute wrappers and colorful icings, they have it. Floral, arrangement, picture frames, yarm, glitter and classes for learning to do all of these things! Anyway, my main reason for going into Michael's was to buy ribbon, glue, pins and possibly some pretty paper to decorate my cupcake tree. I found lots of ribbon in all sorts of colors. The prices are decent. They don't sell wrapping paper here which I am using to cover the cardboard. They don't sell spray paint either. I'm going to spray my cupcake tree down first in order to preserve it for future use. If you really need spray paint you will have to visit a suburban location. I found my paint at the Berwyn location. I'm a fan. This is such a fun store but I you may have to search for someone if you need help finding things. I didn't see too many people working in the store except for the cashiers.

Yelp
This is a very nice store. Had everything I needed. I think Michael's locations, overall, have a great frame selection. My hobby is to create my own framed art and Michael's always has a really large variety of different size frames to meet all your needs. They also have all sorts of other cool stuff to use to create your own art and/or crafts. This store is located in a busy shopping area with other great stores around and there is plenty of metered parking on Clark. My recommendation is to go early when they open.
google avatar

Cely R.

Yelp
One star for the entire stuff one star because is not easy fined the way to use the restrooms and always is a lonnnnng line w/ 6 ppl waiting to pay What happened big store not enough employees, cashiers wth michaels !!!!!!

C L.

Yelp
Never enough staff to show you where things are Often when I've found staff they tell me which aisle things are in but don't want to show us, which is annoying because sometimes they have been wrong, or something is out of stock, and and you need someone else to help you out. Unless you know exactly where something is, shopping experience here can be very frustrating.

Yelp
I went to this location to get some Chanukah decorations. I was extremely disappointed that This location being the only one close to the lakeview Jewish community didn't have any. In addition when I asked someone about where they were. They didn't seem very apologetic and I felt somewhat rude about not having them.
google avatar

Annie V.

Yelp
I've been to this Michaels location twice. Both times, I've encountered super helpful, quick with check outs, and friendly staff. Although small, this store has a "good enough"/decent selection. There is a parking lot, however, I have not used it...I usually park on the street and pay for parking. If you're looking for something specific, I would recommend giving them a call first, since it is a little smaller than other locations that I have visited.
google avatar

Hillari H.

Yelp
Very convenient location and this place is an arts and crafts lover's dream. Staff is helpful and friendly. Check out is fast and accurate. Don't forget to check out the sales because there are plenty of deals, and if you have a coupon, that is even better. I appreciate they have a variety of planner accessories.
google avatar

Yelp
This Michaels is just alright...it's my local store and I appreciate the convenience of proximity but...eh. I can't tell if I come to this Michaels too often, if it's super popular, or if they are last on the list of Michael stores when it comes to getting merchandise shipped because it seems like it takes forever for some items to be restocked. I'll be Instagram lurking (yes, that's the level of my craftiness, don't judge), and I'll see displays at other Michaels with these new products that I want and then I'll go to this location and nothing. Nada. Nope. Nuh-unh. Not a wasted trip, because hey, DSW is down the escalator, but still! No comment on the customer service. I can't complain about never being helped because I never really ask for help either. They all seem very nice at the register though. Nonetheless, Michaels has an app that always has dope coupons, so I'll keep coming back.

Yelp
Freakin Ridiculous! Someone told me I could get a cheap non-reflective piece of glass for product photography at Michaels on Clark. So, I went in today and talked to an employee working in the framing area. She said that they don't sell pieces of glass by themselves. But, if I brought in an 8"X10" frame, they can cut a piece of glass for me, and it would cost about $100! She also said I could buy one of their pre-made frames in stock, but it wouldn't be anti-reflective glass. She said they don't sell pieces of glass by themselves because they're afraid someone will cut himself on the sharp glass. Lame. I've never been here before and now I know why. And from reading a lot of other customer reviews, it sounds like they need to revamp their customer service approach, and be more reasonable with their pricing. Or...maybe they don't care some much about people like me. Whatevs.
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
I spend a lot of time thinking about making crafts. I'm essentially an old cat lady trapped in a young dog lovers body. I've been to tons of crafts stores. This Michaels is really just "OK". There is little to no help from the staff, so you better know what you want or are looking for before you get there. They do have some great sales and you can find a lot of what you're looking for. On the down side....it's laid out weird, it's hard to navigate, stuff isn't grouped the way my brain wants it to be. So essentially it's OK, just not my cup of tea. BUT! It's close to my place and I do have so many more crafts to do....
google avatar

Yelp
Came into Michaels looking to have five canvas oil paintings stretched around a wooden frame. Simple project I thought. The service in and of itself shouldn't take more than a few days. Boy.. was I wrong.. Michaels' service at this store is the worst. They tried to up-sell my service to full frames multiple times. I repeatedly told them I only wanted to have my oil paintings stretched. The price that they quoted me for the service was WAY overpriced. The turnaround for the service was quoted at 2-3 WEEKS. Listen, if you want to get any framing or stretching service done to your artwork, go support your local businesses. Going local will not only save you money, you'll also save yourself from wasting your time.

Yelp
I love Michael's, but this location can be a little iffy. If there's anyone in the store, at all, it's a guarantee there will be a 10-minute long line. This is really irritating when you're there to pick up one little bottle of glitter and not much else. The good news, though, is that they have awesome sales (like the Xmas 70% off sale), and the employees I've encountered have all been helpful and friendly. Bonus points for being cool about me bringing my dog in. He loves Martha Stewart scrapbooking supplies, just sayin'...
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
I love making projects with my twin 4-year old boys. I get much of what I need for our projects here. They do not have everything I would like, but they have a lot. I am very happy that this place is so close and makes so much available. The primary area for improvement is in customer service. The salespeople typically know nothing. I wrote the poor review below several years ago and it still applies: "I want in for Velcro tape to stick a child's poster on a wall. The same type of tape you find at Walgreen's and everywhere else. The teenage salesperson didn't know what I was talking about. Insisted that I really wanted something else. Was quite rude talking to me like I didn't know what I was talking about. So I went on Amazon found it in 15 seconds and had it the next day. Don't waste your time here."

Yelp
Let me qualify. I have used this store numerous times for personal and business projects. I have purchased quite a bit from this store. However, as of today I am incredibly disappointed and will not trust the store again. I am NEVER using Michael' s framing service ever! I went in to ask for a piece of cut glass and matting board so that I could frame a picture that is 12"x10" (I have an antique frame - do-it-yourself project) and they wanted to charge me $150. Now if they framed it themselves it would only be $75. That is complete gouging. I called a local glass company to get pricing and was told I could get the glass for $10. I can get matting board even at their store for 4.99-7.99 or about the same price as a competitor. If it cost me like double what the glass company charged I could completely understand, but $150 for a piece of glass and matting board custom cut down. That is ridiculous. When I called corporate customer service I got a very cavalier response.

Yelp
I came into Michaels for Crayons for an art project, but I left with a smile. ANDY is a gem! He not only showed us all the possible crayon purchases (as well as a funny description of why we need one of each), but he also alerted us of other must have items including sidewalk chalk (to compete with the neighbors' kids) and tie-dyed friendship bracelet thread! I would color outside with you any day Andy, you're a boss!
google avatar

Brandon B.

Yelp
Largest frame selection that I have come across in Chicago with a variety of sales that make it affordable. The warehouse feel and general lack of easy customer service makes it a quick self-serve experience, it seems more commercial than homespun. However the immediate availablty of many photography products is unmatched in my experience so far. Unfortunately I had to lug a 20lb frame home carefully by hand on the train since they didn't have any sort of handle or bag for it.

Rebecca C.

Yelp
This store advertises curb side pickup heavily on line. When you arrive at the store to pick up your order they deny curbside pickup and you are forced to go inside and wait.

Yelp
"Welcome to Michael's!" said 3 employees when I stepped foot in the store. Um, hi, to you too. Thanks for scaring the crap out of me when I wasn't paying attention. I kid, I kid. I wasn't expecting a warm welcome after reading a few of the reviews. But, it was very much appreciated. I needed to pick up a few items and began making my way around the store when I heard laughing and camera flashes. What the hell? I walked towards the noise when I see Duff Goldman from Ace of Cakes (see also show on the Food Network) doing a book signing. Yeah, yeah, it might seem kind of dorky that I got his book, and he peronalized the book (and even sang the Mickey Mouse song). Eh, I was there and thought what the hell, right? It seems like an organized store, and I easily found what I needed. They also have $1 bins right near the entrance and the "under $5 aisle" towards the back of the store. You'll see loads of note pads, magnets, ribbon and various decorations, and party favor type things. After all this excitement, I ended up forgetting two things. Ugh! Thankfully the nice cashier gave me a some coupons for next time.

Yelp
Too much of one department and not enough of others. I hope that once they get used to the neighborhood they will change their inventory. On a customer service level it's only mediocre and it seems everyone who does work there is uneducated. I asked a woman where the graph paper was and she gave me a quizzical look then said "Gr..aa..ph paper?" I then said "The one with the squares on it" and she goes "Ooooooh yeah I don't think I've seen that before" grabbed an older man that worked there and he also had no clue what graph paper was. They lead me over to one isle and say "Yeah we don't have that. Go try Office Depot". Good thing I'm there mostly for yarn and I don't need any help with that. I just wish there was a bigger selection. P.S. The service is terrible in this building, not based off of Michael's but it's note worthy.

Yelp
Decent selection considering their small size. Definitely wish they were bigger and had more specialty items, but overall they're a good place to check for crafting needs.

Yelp
I came back within a week and while I have nothing very noteworthy to add, I just want to give a kudos to the associate who helped an elderly gentleman with a speech disability. While one associate quickly brushed him off to her muttering as she walked past me, "This is way too much for me" the other young lady patiently guided him around the store and answered his questions. This didn't affect me per se, but it's nice to know many (not all) of the employees are ready to help you and guide you around. Maybe I should have told a manager about her excellent customer service, and that's my mistake. I also realized this place is bigger than I thought. It makes me wish I was more crafty just to take advantage of all the stuff they sell here. Oh well. Still 4 stars though.

Yelp
I am impressed by and grateful for the exceptional customer service I recently received at Michael's. I owe much gratitude to the manager Mike, in particular, who above and beyond the call of duty to make what could have been a wrong situation right. Just after Thanksgiving I ordered two custom-frames and was told they'd be ready by Dec. 18. When I went to the store at 9:30 pm on Dec. 20 to pick them up, Mike told me they weren't ready and also told me that my pick up date was simply an estimate -- and that I should expect a call when my order was ready. Unfortunately, I was leaving town for the in-laws' the next day right after work and wouldn't be able to pick up my order, even if it were ready the next day. I kept my composure with Mike, even though I communicated my frustration and disappointment. I am embarrassed to say that I wasn't able to keep it together on the way out of the store though, and said to my husband a little too loudly that the store screwed me. Fast forward to later that evening... when I was almost asleep (about 10:30), my voice mail beep went off. I listened and it was Mike telling me that my order was ready and that it could be picked up right away -- even though the store was closed. He said someone would be in the store until 11:30, and someone would be in the store again in the morning starting at 5 am. I am most grateful that Mike went that far to get my very special Christmas present in my hands on time before leaving town. I did go to the store at 6 am the next morning to pick up the gifts from the very helpful young woman there. And I will always, always, always go to Michael's first whenever I have a craft or framing need. Thank you to Mike and the rest of the staff at Michael's on Clark Street!!! Happy Holidays :)

Yelp
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this Michaels. Not only does it have one of the best crafting selections (no fabric) in the city, the people who work there are energetic, upbeat and entertaining! I've never walked into this store without being greeted at least 2 or 3 times, and it's one of those places where if I look like I know what I want, they don't bug me, but if I'm searching for something, they ask. I love that! Thank you for being everything one wants in a retail experience!

Yelp
This review is for the custom framing department. I went in on 12/18 with an e-mail coupon for free expedited service through 12/18 to arrive by Christmas Eve. The person said there was no such coupon and said, and I quote, "Show me the coupon so I can tell you how you are reading it wrong." So when I pulled it up on my phone he said that he couldn't honor it. That is was too late. When I pushed back, he called one manager and then another and 30 minutes later they finally agreed to do it. Then I learn that a simple 12 x 18 gold frame would be $170 (AFTER the 55% sale discount). And that was just for the frame and not mat. So I bought a $40 frame off the shelf, asked for a mat to be cut, paper put on the back, and for a pocket for the artist bio. The labor and material cost was $65 (plus the $40 frame). Again - RIDICULOUS! When I go in to pick it up I find that there is no pocket and no artist bio. The store had LOST the artist bio for an original print that I bought at a random store in a Hawaii. The guy at the counter said that he had nothing to do with it and that he would have the guy that took my order call me on Monday the 26th. Guess what? He never did. All around - NICE JOB Michaels! I would never entrust a piece of artwork to you again -- indefensible prices, deplorable customer service, and complete lack of respect for the artwork.

Yelp
Craft stores are one of my weaknesses. It's up there with the typical Target trip resulting in damage to the pocketbook every time without fail. This Michael's trip at least had a purpose of finding some iron-on letters for my Halloween costume component. This new Michael's is pretty nice. It's bright and clean, so decent to start. I got a little confused by the layout since it didn't seem laid out quite like the others I've visited. It took asking the staff to find the iron-on letters. Luckily, I found plenty in stock to complete my Halloween costume in time for tomorrow's festivities. I also did major damage to my pocketbook by stocking up projects like doilies, bachelorette party stuff for engaged brides to be, Christmas ornaments and decorations. It was an extremely successful shopping trip by this crafter's standards. This Michael's loses the all important last star because of the long, waiting line at noon. By the lunch hour, the line stretched 5-6 people deep even with three cashiers manning the front. They definitely need to be more prepared for staff on the weekend or especially during holiday time. Otherwise, I'm happy that there's a Michael's a little closer to home.

Yelp
The staff at this store has always gone out of its way to be friendly and helpful, and I've gotten some great items here..especially in terms of bins for closets, craft supplies, etc. I'm so glad it's in the neighborhood.
