My wife and I went for a meal here after driving by this Restaurant for the last 15 years. The food was amazing. Our waiter was great and the atmosphere was so quiet, romantic and special. Definitely will return.

Wow! Romantic, historic, quaint perfection of a fancy dinner. We were immediately greeted upon walking in and sat right away. The butternut soup was delicious. The local cheese board is a must!!! The tenderloin was amazing with the cheesy potatoes. The wine selection is great! The service is 5 stars. Plan a date, take a friend, partner, parent, whoever and splurge. I also can’t stress enough to make a reservation way in advance especially during the busy seasons.

We came here for our anniversary and had an amazing meal! The zucchini fritter bite and the fried calamari were to die for! My husband got the beef tenderloin and I got the duck breast; both were delicious! The chocolate ganache dessert was also fantastic! I can’t say enough about how thoughtful all of the dishes were that we had. Our server, Gavin, did an amazing job making recommendations as well! Truly a wonderful dining experience at Michael’s on the Hill!

We visited Michael’s for their Christmas Eve set menu, priced at $145, + 20% service charge, per head. For this, I’d reasonably expect a good level of service and quality food. Unfortunately we left, after several hours, disappointed. It took over an hour from being seated at 8pm until the first “amuse” and long waits between subsequent courses continued. Whilst the food itself tasted fresh, and I don’t doubt as being high-quality sourced ‘farm to table’, it was served lukewarm and on cold plates. The halibut was extremely dry and vegetables generally undercooked making them difficult to cut. This was put down to the restaurant kitchen being small vs the high number of covers that evening - dare I suggest limiting bookings to fulfil expectations of the premium price being charged? Service was mixed. Some servers were clearly experienced and did an excellent job, others we can only presume were new to this style of service. On our table, plates were left uncleared before the next course arrived and cutlery was not replaced. Other tables were receiving fresh cutlery with each course. It’s a shame as the atmosphere is brilliant, you could imagine being on the orient express. Looking at past reviews the restaurant has so much potential and I hope similar reviews from others are taken onboard by the owners.

Michael's food was exquisite. I had the Coq au Vin, my wife had the duck breast. Both were incredible and so was the moelleux for dessert. Excellent wine selection. Service made us feel special, we celebrated our first year wedding anniversary and felt right at home. Don from Brass Lantern referred us (you should stay here, it's 10 minutes down the road).

We fiancée and I went here yesterday for dinner to celebrate our engagement and my birthday. The ambiance and environment wa spectacular. Unfortunately, two things regarding the food left us a bit disappointed. We ordered a kale caesar salad and the sea bass. We received a romaine caesar salad and salmon. Not a big deal but when you are at a high end restaurant, paying high prices, it is very strange that after these things are pointed out, there is nothing done by the wait staff. In the future, if something like this happens, something as small as comping a drink or a dessert goes a really long way. Especially when you know someone is there to celebrate and engagement and a birthday. What is the purpose of knowing that if not even the smallest acknowledgement is given? Alas, the restaurant is stunning and would still recommend to those visiting.

Wow!! My husband was not real excited when I told him where I had made reservations for dinner. He changed his tune once we got our appetizer. We had the Crab Salad and it was amazing. We both had the fish for the main course and it was so unique and delicious. We will be back for sure!

Best decision to spend my birthday here! The atmosphere was so cozy, the staff was so nice and accommodating and the food was amazing! We ordered the tenderloin steak and fish of the day. The steak was so good and even better than other steak weve had in NYC. The fish was so soft and sweet. Amazing. The only thing we didnt like was the dessert which was the coconut matcha panna cotta. The waiter, Megan, saw we didnt eat so she removed it from our bill - without of asking for it and even mentioning we didnt like it. Thats truly the type of service that is topnotch! If you're here in Vermont and want a special dinner, I highly recommend this place.

Michael's has become one of our top favorite restaurants as of recently. The service is fenomenal, as well as the ambience. The cocktails and wine list are unique and delightful! The food is consistently delicious. There is also a wonderful sense of welcoming and care that we look for as a family that makes the difference. Whatever changes this restaurant has gone through it is only for the better of this beautiful culinary destination.

It is well-known that this restaurant offers one of the top, if not the top fine dining experiences in the region. After dining here recently, I can honestly say that it more than lives up to its reputation. From the intimate atmosphere that provides such a gorgeous ambience, to the highly tasteful decor and artwork, to the incredible food that is beautifully plated, to the professionalism and attentiveness with which it is served, it does not disappoint. I highly recommend spending time to pair wine with different courses and fully enjoying and savoring each bite and each sip. It's a wonderful place to go for a romantic evening or a special night out with the family. They have an extensive wine selection and if you are in doubt, knowledgeable staff can make excellent recommendations that are catered to your tastes. I'm looking forward to going back soon!

We've been coming to Michaels on the Hill for years to celebrate special moments. Some of our favorites have remained on the menu ( thank god ), including the calamari salad. We've never had anything less than excellent customer service and incredible wine selections. We brought our management team there to celebrate a successful fiscal year and were wined and dined all night like rockstars. Always a wonderful time at MOH. Keep up the great work, we will return.

My wife and I had dinner here recently. It was very good for the most part. I was a little disappointed by the overall feel and look of the place, having expected something more along the line of how they describe themselves as a 'modern European' restaurant. It was very much a 'Vermont traditional' look and feel, which is not a bad thing, just not what I expected based on their website. The food was very good. Service was good, pleasant and helpful, if slightly slow to check on our table. I had a braised lamb shank with vegetables and she had spring vegetable gnocchi. Both dishes were very good, although they were aggressively salty. We finished with a shared desert and coffees. The restaurant has a beautiful location with great sunset views over the mountains. Very charming. One thing I would suggest to the owners is the music choice for the dining room is very incongruous to the whole presentation and atmosphere. 1970s pop/rock hits isn't really the vibe that matches this environment.

With a new owner and new head chef, Michael's on the Hill, enters a new season of life. And they have done it with grace and the continued excellence they have become known for through the years. Fantastic appetizers and par excellence main course selections. I loved the chicken. Others in our group said the Gnocchi, Lamb and Halibut were great selections. Nothing on the menu will disappoint your palate. And our waiter Gavin was super helpful, friendly, warm and professional. Highly recommend this be on your restaurant list for Stowe, Vermont. A must.

Elizabeth, the sommelier was amazing. The wine was amazing - Kistler Pinot was delicious. We ordered the following: Shaved Vegetable Salad - English Pea Purée - Mint - Feta - Pistachios - amazing and highly recommend. I devoured the entire dish :) Kids chicken tenders and fries - delicious (I love that this restaurant has a kids menu - thank you) Carrot soup - great! Maine Lobster - amazing. Tons of lobster meat Salmon - the salmon skin was perfectly fried. Cheese platter - delicious The waitress was very nice and overall it was a great experience. Elizabeth, thank you for welcoming us to the restaurant and recommending the amazing California wine - Kistler. We highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Stowe. Just don't use the car service - The Blazer Transportation which charged $85 from Stowe to this restaurant. Thanks Elizabeth for finding us an alternative car service.

VERY VERY SAD how they treat their Employees, When they stood by their side at the change over of new owners .The new owners have no clue about restaurants,while the employees stayed when it was about to go south.

Michale's On The Hill nestled in the Hill side in a quaint 1820 farmhouse in Waterbury Center, Vermont. The Service is amazing and very polite and have a great knowledge of the dishes. The food is very Flavorful and amazing. Everything was served with Beautiful presentation and at the proper Temp for peak freshness. Hat of to the chefs and the Bartenders.

The Neal was exceptional along with the ambience A MUST! Was on a weeks vacation and this by far was the best meal.

If you're looking for an overpriced, mediocre meal in a dingy, tacky building this is the place for you. This place was shockingly bad. The food was the same quality you'd get at a divey place, but triple the price. Food was also cold and overcooked. Decor was so cheap and tacky. Service was odd. If you're going to spend $200 you'd think they'd not have plastic tea light candles on the tables and TJ Maxx curtains. Would not go back again. Not clear how anyone could have a good experience here or would want to go back ever again. Update on 5/30/24: I said the food was cold and overcooked. Would you like me to have counted the number of pieces of asparagus on my partners plate? Would that have helped? Maybe share my bank account statement with you? And the reservation was booked under my partner so why would you have my name in your records? Oh I'm sorry, did you email your entire staff and ask if they served an Ashley at some point in the last two weeks? I don't typically announce my name at restaurants but good to know you expect that. That's hilariously absurd. Also good to know you are also a liar - and a bad one. You are looking for every possible angle to invalidate my experience rather than accept that your restaurant needs work. It's a disgrace to this restaurant's name that someone so incapable of self reflection and understanding the concept of hospitality would take over the restaurant. You took a bad meal and turned it into a vendetta. Enjoy going out of business in a year.

Came here for dinner on a Thursday. We were seated in the new dining room. We ordered the Gold prix fixe, lobster, and chicken skillet. The food was very good and our server Kyle, was very good. The panna cotta was also good. The acoustics in the new room are not very good and when a large party was seated it was very loud. Nice decor though. Parking lot was a bit icy.

Food is amazing. The service was great as well- The server was knowledgeable about allergens in every menu item. Usually, they have to double check. I was very impressed! The Gold + Platinum menus are well priced. Flavor combinations in the dishes are amazing. My favorites were the mushroom tartine (without bread for me) and the Lobster. The lobser was so different-nobody gets creative with lobster. The watercress purée + pea shoot salad paired so well with the lightness of lobster. The drinks were delicious too- I had the Strawberry Rhubarb Martini & an Espresso Martini. I can't imagine there is any better place to eat in the area! SO good!

Our dinner at Michael's on the Hill was good, but I wouldn't say so memorable that we will go again unless for their prix fixe menu. The views from the restaurant are indeed beautiful - only if you are seated at the west side along the windows. The table where we were seated was towards the back, by the door to the outdoor seating area - so the view factor may not necessarily be equitable. My daughter and I shared three dishes: the summer corn soup with corn spaetzle (think: toasted corn), the greens and radish (run of the mill, a little tarragon in the dressing which was a nice surprise), the truffled mushroom gnocchi (more on this later), and the chocolate torte with mint ice cream (dense, but the fresh mint ice cream balanced the chocolate wonderfully and lightened this finisher for our meal). I also got an Upside Dawn from Connecticut's Athletic Brewing Company which was wonderful - hints of passion fruit, guava, light flavor, delightful! The gnocchi - it was noted to be truffled mushroom. I even got a couple thin slices in mine which was a wonderful surprise since most times truffle is just blended straight through a sauce unless shaved on top for presentation. The gnocchi was a wonderful texture - smooth, solid, not dense, The tough part was that the sauce was a lemon-based cream sauce. The lemon overpowered the flavor of the truffle all together, where I was expecting the truffle as featured to be able to sing through. Alas. The prix fixe dinner seemed to have a couple additional dishes that looks really fun - think we will try that route next time to see what Chef drums up. And the service is really wonderful: attentive without being overly so.

Blown away. We began with the crabcake, followed by the lobster and then finished with dessert - he had the strawberry shortcake and I had the Panna cotta with a cappuccino. Cocktails all around - unbeatable service; attentive but not disruptive.

Sunset, think sunset!!! The view from your table of the Green Mountains is one of the many things that makes Michael's awesome. The seasonal squash soup could stand alone with bread and satisfy any appetite . The crab cake appetizer is not to be missed. However the venison is out if this world and so tasty and generous there is not room for dessert. The staff is attentive and not intrusive. If you go to Stowe/Waterbury, don't miss this taste treat.

Service was excellent! Food was decent- not great! At the elevated price point the beef tenderloin was drizzled with a teaspoon of pan juice and maybe a bit of salt and pepper- nothing else. Again it was a decent piece of meat just an uninspiring presentation. Glazed carrots were water logged - no glaze in sight. The potatoes were excellent! The salad was light on ingredients- a slight pile of cress with a few small crumbles of blue cheese! All in all meal was ok- but fell short in creativity and standard of excellence!

My husband and I dined on our actual anniversary while visiting on vacation from out of town to celebrate. The food was decent for a high-end restaurant - I've eaten at many and have had better and worse. The service wasn't bad either. We ordered the Gold and Platinum tasting menus. The cheddar cheese amuse bouche was the best part of the meal. Expertly prepared and so delicious. The rest of the meal was rather unmemorable though nothing was offensively bad. There was definitely an "all hands on deck" vibe to get the food out quickly and breeze through the courses but everyone was professional. The main issue was the poor experience and the lack of ambiance. Michael's offers an 8:15 (and I believe an 8:30) slot on Resy. I booked the 8:15 slot and we were seated in a small room with a few other parties who were already working their way through their courses. Once the other parties in the alcove finished, the manager and other employees started literally dragging away tables and chairs as we were the last party in the alcove eating. This was about an hour into our tasting menu so a reasonable amount of time to still expect peace. I've never experienced anything like that in many years of fine dining. As we were finishing our desserts, we quietly joked between ourselves that we better hurry and finish before they took away our tableware. When we were asked how our meal was at the end, we shared feedback about the special occasion being dampened by having the room broken down around us. I suspect the staff isn't very familiar with the expectations associated with their price point because they were apologetic but seemed genuinely surprised that we were bothered. Ultimately they comped our sparkling water and a glass of prosecco to express their regret when we pointed out the issues but, the fact is, it shouldn't have happened in the first place. It was rude and disrespectful. I would much rather pay full price for a great experience than have items comped for a bad one. On our next visit we'll stick to the other farm to table restaurants in town where we had a much better experience.

Really beautiful view, good food and good service. The gnocchi was perfect. I would come back in a heart beat.

I wouldn't have bothered to write a review but we noticed after arriving home that my partner had been charged $5 for every refill of his tiny glass of iced tea. So the game is on. We went to this restaurant for a special occasion and spent a mint, which we expected. But the fact is, the meal was unmemborable, the service only okay, the environment in the large room we were seated in felt like a steakhouse. It should have been elegant for the money. If you are accustomed to fine dining, this may dissappoint. Try Luenigs in Burlington. Less formal but the food is delicious and people watching on a warm summer night on their patio is more fun.

Michael's is lovely! We dined overlooking the valley. Had a beautiful bottle of wine, exceptional courses and professional, well timed, informative, attentive staff. The mushroom tartine was lovely, a locally sourced salad, venison and lobster main courses, followed by apple desert. I would consider myself a foodie and Michael's did not disappoint. I highly recommend the patio tables for a romantic evening!

Katie, our server, was very friendly and read our reservation notes notating we are vegan. Chef recommended two entrees that could easily be modified. We ordered two of the same plate: polenta with veggies and some added things that are sides on other meals. The portions are generous, fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Chef sends out a little amuse bouche prior. Ours was delicious (cucumber based). We also enjoyed fresh fruit sorbet. The cocktails are well balanced and the bar uses many local spirits. We loved our drinks (one rum based and one rye based). The service was great and the three staff we saw in the front of house were working very hard. This won't be your cheapest meal in Stowe, but you get what you pay for here.

Wow. This was our 2nd time here. Setting is lovely, energy is calm and the food is really incredible. Vegetarian daughter got mushroom gnocchi and was so happy with it. Hubby got the chicken which was crispy and excellent. I got the lamb with couscous and OMG. Appetizers were the burrata salad, the fried quail and the crab cake. All were great but there was something about the burrata salad that was incredible. it had crushed pistachios and other veggies and was lightly dressed. So good. Dessert was profiteroles and chocolate cake. All were excellent and generous portions. Really wow.

The waitress was very kind and friendly. The service was very good and the food came out quick. The prices are high but it's supposed to be a fancy restaurant for a reason. The environment was nice, with dimmed lighting perfect for date night. The food was phenomenal, I got the beef tenderloin with carrots and au gratin potatoes

After settling into our accommodations we decided to treat ourselves to takeout and we were really impressed. Aside from sushi at a location down the street to my apartment (thanks to covid), I've never ordered fine dining to go. I assured myself it wouldn't travel well, would show up soggy, cold or otherwise, but Michael's proved me wrong in the best kind of way. We ordered over the phone and they told us when it would be ready. Upon our arrival we called and the food was brought out to our car. We ordered the crab cake appetizer, beef tenderloin, Faroe salmon and a to-go Manhattan cocktail. The crab cake was a little salty, but still tasty. To be honest we didn't really understand the accompanied endive salad, and we think the green sauce was pea based, but we enjoyed the twist from traditional tartar sauce. I ordered the tenderloin medium rare, second guessing myself after if I should have gone with rare in case it showed up cooked through from resting, but it was actually pretty close to medium rare when I cut into it so I was really pleased! The carrots and potatoes served with it were really nice as well. The one orange carrot was absolutely MASSIVE. Sorry no pictures of the salmon, it slid around a bit in the box, but it was perfectly cooked. While initially indifferent, the crispy matchstick style beets grew on us. The leeks and celery root purée were nice pairings. The cocktail came in a DIY zip top drink pouch (picture a zip block version of a Capri-Sun). Also skeptical, it was well mixed and dare we say very generous. Our only criticism is that the bread was just a chunk of baguette and didn't come with butter or anything. Normally not a huge deal, but we were in a hotel with limited knife and side options and made a bit of a mess ripping it apart.

This is definitely a local gem! We had a great time. Social distancing was strictly followed. There is an empty table between each seated party with a small screen for privacy. I don't remember what dishes the photos represent but they all tasted amazing. Will definitely go back if I'm in the area.

Very very average expensive food. Portion size is for a child and unshareable. The cost of a soup is $14 and it comes out slightly warm and the size is half of the bowl. I would expect it more classy and the food more seasoned, but it was very average.

Fabulous service! Brought my daughter to a long time favorite and enjoyed the experience. Excellent food and atmosphere. Thanks for being consistent!! Always fresh and tasty.

The food is not up to par what it was years ago. My venison was overwhelmed with greens etc. service was good but decor needs to be updated.

Had dinner at Michael's On The Hill on Sunday night. A delicious meal in a lovely atmosphere, finding the right balance of comfort and decadence. Quality: Michael's On The Hill was an extremely high caliber dining experience. Our meal started with the beautiful Roasted Mushroom Tartine, which had a perfect truffle flavor, and the Maine Crabcake, which showcased how great a crabcake can be. We then shared the Truffled Mushroom Gnocchi, my highlight of the night. Served with a mix of summer vegetables and a poached egg, it was not the sauce or flavor I expected, but something much better. It was rich, yet light, bringing unique freshness and life to each bite. The only thing missing was a spoon to scoop up the sauce that remained at the end. Then we had our entrees, which were both excellent as well. I enjoyed the Herb Butter Poached Maine Lobster a bit more than the Pasture Raised Beef Tenderloin, but they were great in combination. Quantity: We ordered a huge meal and every dish was large. Particularly the Truffled Mushroom Gnocchi, which split in two separate bowls really showed how massive it was. Value: $17 for the Roasted Mushroom Tartine. $16 for the Maine Crabcake. $30 for the Truffled Mushroom Gnocchi. $46 for the Pasture Raised Beef Tenderloin. $46 for the Herb Butter Poached Maine Lobster. Ambiance: Michael's On The Hill is located a little south of Stowe, Vermont. As advertised, it sits on a small hill to the side of the road, in a beautiful traditional home. From the instant you see it, you know it is going to be a familiar, yet lavish meal. We were led through the simple, but elegant dining areas to the largest room. In this room, the tables faced the large windows, overlooking the gorgeous landscape. The music was quiet and voices whispered as we took part in this upscale romantic dining experience. Crowd: Reservations are necessary, as even on Sunday evening every table in the restaurant was filled. I was not clear if it was a result of COVID or just to create a more intimate experience for guests, but they limited the number of tables in every room. Service: Our waiter was absolutely fantastic. He made sure we were well taken care of, and when there was an error in the kitchen, he brought us out small palette cleanser to avoid an extended gap between dishes. Parking: Private parking lot at the top of the hill and around the restaurant.

Dinner here was beyond exceptional! We first tried the carrot soup which was heavenly especially for a summer night. Salmon was cooked to perfection and the cheese plate had generous portions of delicious cheeses. The cappuccino was great too!

My partner and I had an amazing anniversary dinner at Michael's on the Hill. The food was delicious and we enjoyed a beautiful view of the mountains. Our server was attentive but not disruptive, and gave great recommendations. I thought the menu was a great value, given how unique and tasty all the courses were. The food is delicious at Michael's especially the chicken entree. The host is always so friendly. I love that they offer take out.

The best restaurant in Stowe Vermont. As good as any I've been anywhere. Particularly this time. All the same dishes as always but we feel it's more complete, more sophisticated. It's like Michael has travelled to those far away places and tasted the dishes and now present his version of the Pork Shank as they do in the Italian Alps. His version of Main Lobster, his Fillet Steak, his Grilled Salmon, his Chicken. It's almost worth the trip to Vermont just to eat here.

This restaurant was tough to get a reservation but after dining here I can understand why. On Friday I was able to snag a 8:15pm reservation, a bit late for what we'd normally eat but we wanted to have a "fancy" date night and this was one of the nicer places we could find in the area. We perused the menu and read the reviews and knew we were in for a good night. When walking in the atmosphere is very cozy, the lighting very dim and the staff very friendly. We were seated and had Kyle as our waiter. He totally put up with our silliness of wanting recommendations for almost every course. For appetizers we were between the crab cake and the quail but in the end we went with the quail as it was so unique and different for us. HONESTLY I thought it was quail eggs, not the whole bird, but low and behold we were treated with fried quail with a homemade bbq sauce. I have to say, the sauce was superb and not your typical bbq. It had almost middle eastern flavors, some spices I couldn't put my finger on, but boy did it wake up my palate. For mains I got the beef tenderloin and my boyfriend treated himself to a pork shank. His pork was HUGE (see picture) and when he tried to pick up the bone the meat just fell off. Literally. It was so juicy, full of flavor and was accompanied by a cheddar polenta. I was so jealous. Than I tasted my steak and it's as tender as could be. The center of the meat was melt in the mouth soft. The potatoes? Get out of town, they were SO good. I could've had so much more of those. The only miss on my plate was the roasted carrots, they were so tough, I hate a crunchy carrot. Not sure if this was the intention, but I think they could've been cooked a bit more. For dessert we were between the poached pears or the chocolate torte. Kyle recommended the torte which was accompanied by mascarpone cream and espresso ice cream. I will warn you, this is VERY chocolatey and a bit bitter. Perfect for chocolate lovers. The mascarpone cream did brighten it up a bit and the ice cream for us was a TOTAL home run. Probably the tastiest ice cream for coffee lovers. Overall this establishment clearly has a chef with some culinary vision and taste. The ingredients felt very fresh, in season, and well balanced. The bill was a bit pricey but I would certainly return for another "splurge" meal. You can't go wrong here, I dare you to try.

A wonderful experience. My wife and I dined at Michael's on the Hill recently and loved every single thing about it. First off, the restaurant is a beautiful old New England style home that fits the area perfectly. The host was welcoming, and wait staff spectacular. The staff answered questions and were never pushy, something I appreciate. We ordered two glasses of wine, the fall salad (greens, apple, cucumber, radish, grainy mustard cider dressing), butter poached lobster, beef tenderloin, and an espresso martini to cap the evening. Everything was outstanding. First, the bread course. A few pieces of local made sourdough with room temp (pet peeve is when restaurants serve cold butter, it doesn't spread!) unsalted butter. On the side of the butter they provided salt to sprinkle if you wished. A thoughtful and great touch. Second, the salad. The ingredients on their own don't seems like anything special, but you could tell they were all fresh and perfect for a salad. That said, the star was the dressing. Absolute perfection for fall. Tangy, apple-y, fall spiced. It was a fresh start to the meal. My wife ordered the herb butter poached lobster with creamed corn and fennel. The lobster was perfect, getting a very good sized portion. It was topped with a lobster butter to add more favor. The cremated corn and fennel was awesome as well. I think everyone knows creamed corn, but to add fennel, that is new and unique. I'm not a huge fennel fan but this was mellow and meshed well with the corn and lobster. Great dish I ordered the beef tenderloin with au gratin potatoes and roasted carrots. The beef was very good. Cooked medium rare like I asked. Tender. Zero complaints. Tasty. Somehow, with a filet cooked perfectly, it was the third best thing on the plate. I've never had roasted carrots like these. They were what I would call lacquered with beef fat, spices, and roasted perfectly. The "ends" or bottom of the carrots were charred and crispy yet chewy and I never knew a carrot could get to such a point. Truly memorable. The potatoes were out of this world as well. Look at the top crust on them from my picture. Crisp, cheesy goodness. I tasted notes of sage and rosemary in the au gratin which was perfect for the season and paired well with the beef and touch of sweetness on the carrots. Finally, the sauce was a beef fat, butter, red wine reduction and just added more umami to bring everything home. Truly a wonderful meal and evening. Go if you are ever in the area.

I wanted to thank you for hosting us last night. We were blown away by the menu, the service and atmosphere you've created. My son's Joshua's graduation from Norwich University couldn't have been capped off any better.

Service...great Ambiance .... Inviting Food.... Tasty, but be prepared to go home and have sandwich to supplement.

Overrated. Service just meh for the prices they charge. Threw dessert menus on the table without any acknowledgement, eye contact or dialogue, and sent over different servers to take our dessert orders. No thanks.

We had a wonderful time. The food was delicious. It is pricey but it's an experience. I wouldn't eat here everyday but I would for special occasions. We tried lots of different dishes and it was all good.

An absolutely amazing dining experience from start to finish! Very intimate dining experience with attentive staff. The food was absolutely amazing. You really could appreciate the fresh farm to table dishes. And our waitress, Heather, was so attentive, kind, and understanding of our needs. In fact, even the food runner (can't recall her name) was amazing!

Absolutely delicious from start to finish. The service was great, attentive but not all over you. And the views are spectacular of the mountains. We did the prix fixe with the lobster as the main and had no complaints. Definitely recommend

Last meal of our 6 day stay in Stowe and way to end it on a high! We were recommended here by locals, really happy we made reservations. Loved the music and vibe then the view of the mountains was just a cherry on top! Wine was good and the food was delicious! I've never had a poached pear but I will be ordering it again next time I see it on a menu. Rarely do we enjoy a restaurant so much we have after dinner drinks, but we ended up having two! After having a not so great anniversary dinner at Cork two days before Michael's, we decided to cheers our anniversary here and a great end to our trip to Stowe!

Food wasn't bad, but I guess you expect more from a high end restaurant with locally sourced ingredients etc. The poached butter lobster - this is their signature dish but was a bit disappointing. Chicken - this was cooked quite well and flavorful Mushroom Tartine - this was the best thing we had for dinner. Perfectly cooked! We added the truffle shavings for an additional ~$25, but the truffles were tasteless. I recommend avoiding it. Dessert was delicious!

This is an excellent restaurant. Very classic with great attention to detail. My girlfriend said her salmon was the best she'd ever had. My lamb was so tender, it melted in my mouth. I didn't even need a knife to cut it. The space is Vermont charming, very cozy and perfect for a romantic dinner. The service is excellent and they're very knowledgeable about the menu. My only regret is that I couldn't eat more. If I'm up in the Stowe area, I'll be sure to stop by again.

Michael's is a fantastic go-to for down to earth fine dining in VT. The a la carte menu changes seasonally and always has a nice selection of options. Go check it out!

Great meal and terrific service! It was my second time there and just as enjoyable as my first.

We had 6:45 reservations. We were seated promptly. The Waite staff was very attentive without being annoying. Their menu is always changing. They are very accommodating to dietary restrictions. I had the venison and it was so tender you could cut it with your fork. The sauce completed it so well. It is a bit pricey, so beware.

Menu great selection. Delicious food. Love the gold and silver combos. Service excellent

Reservations here are tight so we were happy we were lucky enough to score a reservation. We were pleased to be greeted by a friendly staff and open space where tables had plenty of space between. The staggered seating explained why reservations were so hard to come by. The wine menu is extensive and the cuisine is certainly original. We ordered a salad, the salmon with heirloom tomatoes and whipped ricotta, as well as the truffled risotto. The vegetables were so so fresh! We topped off our evening with the mulled pear - it was different and a lighter take on dessert. Service was excellent and had a wonderful effect on our dining experience. Would definitely recommend.
