"St. Augustine has an abundance of great restaurants, but Michael’s continuously impresses guests with its take on high-end casual dining. Even though the restaurant doesn’t have a tasting menu every night, it hosts wine dinners and chef’s table experiences throughout the year. These dinners often fill up quickly, and chef Michael Lugo is known for creating special tasting menus for the events. Holidays like Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Even also allow Lugo to show off his culinary prowess with items like hearts of palm aguachile, perfectly cooked wagyu beef filets, and a cheese course with Basque cheesecake paired with an herb salad." - Megan duBois

We enjoyed an evening with my two children and my wife to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere was great with the pianist playing in the background and the tables set with lamps. We had a reservation and were sat immediately. The bread we ordered was amazing but we all wanted more as the baguettes were small but at the end of it's for the best as the dinner was plentiful. Thanks for the great time. Oh and the wine list you will need to take a copy home because it's huge and you will not have the time to read it all.

Absolutely blown away by my experience at Michael’s St. Augustine last night! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting—perfect for a memorable dining experience. But let’s talk about the food... it was a masterpiece. Every dish wasn’t just beautifully presented, it was a stunning mix of flavors that left me speechless. You could tell that each ingredient was carefully selected, and every bite was a new wave of delicious surprises. Truly an elevated culinary experience! And they just opened at this location so everything is brand new! You’ll spend about $75-$100 per person but it’s worth the experience in my opinion. A special shoutout to our amazing waiter, David, who provided top-notch service with such warmth and attentiveness. He really made us feel like VIPs throughout the entire meal. And Caleb, the host, welcomed us with such genuine hospitality—it’s clear that everyone here is passionate about what they do. I can’t recommend Michael’s St. Augustine enough. From the incredible food to the outstanding service, it’s a dining experience you don’t want to miss. 10/10!

We enjoyed a marvelous dinner with fabulous wine at Michael's St. Augustine. The scallop special and, in particular, the MARKET VEGETABLES were outstanding dishes. It isn't often that I am impressed by vegetable offerings, but I consider these some of the best, with the potato pave being extraordinary. It was indeed a pleasure to discuss wines with Claudio Giardino, the Sommelier, who was both knowledgeable and amiable, and backed with an award-winning winelist, The 2011 Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial Rioja, Spanish red that we had was phenomenal. The atmosphere of the well-appointed decor, great pianist, and Michael, our server, who provided top-notch service, all made for a very memorable and highly recommended fine dining experience!

Went here for a birthday and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is beautiful, and the service was amazing, but the food was the true star of the show. Easily one of the best restaurants in the St. Augustine area.

From the moment you enter the restaurant your experience begins with a very intimate and elegant atmosphere. You are welcome by friendly and professional staff. The piano notes are the romantic touch for a very special night. Michael's has an extraordinary selection of wines to please the wine lovers and the staff is properly trained to give that special and unique treatment when serving those delicate and aged wines. Let's talk about the food...WOW! When you go to a restaurant and the chef overflows with details and perfection in his dishes but your palate can also enjoy the combination of fresh and delicate ingredients, giving you the experience of unique flavors. On the starters, the Goat Cheese Terrine and the Empanadas are fantastic. My favorite dish, Mofongo with shrimp. In this selection the chef replaces the green plantain with cassava and shares with you the authentic Caribbean culinary culture. If you are a steak lover, I recommend the KC Bone-In Strip and any other steak as they are prepared to perfection. Desserts are fantastic! Tres Leches cake and the chocolate cake. Our experience was on another level. We visited the restaurant on February 12 and wanted to repeat the experience on February 14 and this was our best Valentine's dinner ever. To the owner and Chef Michael and to his amazing staff. THANK YOU!

The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the service was great, and the bananas foster dessert was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. Highly recommend Michael’s for a special occasion dinner or just a special treat. We can’t wait to come back!

Mixed reviews of Michael's. We had reservations for New Year's Eve and their last night in that location. We were super excited for the menu and with both of us, we were able to try all of the options. However, some of the courses were either fantastic or lacking flavor or disproportionate. For example, the tuna tartar was amazing but the lobster aguachile was bland. Service was impeccable and atmosphere was inviting!

Food was subpar for the price in comparison to Charlies, RuthChris or Bern's in Tampa, FL. Menu selections werw limited. Service was great, however food was just good with an exception of the NY Strip the waiter recommended rate. Ribeye wasnt even close to what I can make myself. Sides were decent, but not exceptional for the cost. Atmosphere was nice, but seemed tight and to open for a romantic type dinner. Wine selections were excellent. Cudos that we did get a 🕯 put in our dessert that we ordered and paid for since it was my wife's birthday 🎂 celebration dinner. Overall rating is a 6.5. Expected more for the price. (Please try it and I bet my review is almost spot on)
