Micheline's Pita House Del Mar

It's so good that people will lie to say they were in line BEFORE you. Never fear, the attendant set her straight. We used to go to Pita Pit but, we saw Micheline's on the Marvelous Muncher site. Wow !! These are amazing, ( the pitas, that is..). You get to watch your creation come to life ! They take pain staking care to get your order correct, they are VERY polite and the portions were large enough to have the other half the next day !! Definitely going back to try their Chicken Shwarma, ( they were sold out). Oh, and Mederteranian food is supposed to make you love longer. ( they have a sign ). Go gettum', have fun and enjoy !!!

I come here every week for the chicken shawarma wrap which is awesome, but this time I went with chicken bowl and George did a great job on this, highly recommend it!

I probably tried at least 30+ Mediterranean restaurants in SD county and this is the only one that I am writing comment as it’s the worst one. The rice doesn’t taste middle eastern, meat is overcooked. People working there don’t look happy as they have an attitude towards customers. Food 3/10, service 1/10

The food here is exceptionally good. I love the kabob plate. The chicken is flavorful, tender and juicy. Lots of sides to pick from. Everything appears to be made with a health conscious mindset. Today my wife and I share the Ancient Grains Salad. Definitely enough for two people, in my opinion. The photo is of half a salad. The staff has been friendly and helpful every time I have been in... even when they appear to be quite busy. The prices are very reasonable based on the quality and the serving size. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We have been driving to Solana Beach to enjoy the food from Micheline’s, so we are very happy we have one that much closer to us now. Very good food, generous portions, everything is always fresh - I recommend you add the pickles, red cabbage and get the green goddess tahini sauce.

We come here a lot (even tip) but it would be really nice if those guys had a bit of customer service and showed at the very least, politeness. They never answer their phone which is a shame because we’d order pick up more. We’ve tried to call four days in a row and they never pick up.

I truly miss the quality of the food we used to enjoy. It would be great to see a return to those higher standards. I'm optimistic that we can get back to those good days soon! Also, it would be helpful if orders were double-checked to ensure everything, like the fries, is included.

This is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant! They have another location in La Jolla, and both are consistently very yummy. I typically get the hummus bowl: this comes with three scoops of hummus, and the same toppings and sauces that you can get with a regular bowl. The meat, veggies, and sauces always taste so fresh and flavorful, and every combo I've gotten of this bowl has always hit the spot. Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, and the workers are so friendly and patient. A must try!! :))

High quality shawarma, hummus, pita and kabobs - as well as rarer sides like fave beans and corn salad - in a cozy setting with fast service and also a few tables to sit on. Colorful backgrounds on the walls and also flavorful food. Highly recommended!

Solid pita joint - I got the chicken shawarma combo with tabbouli, cilantro hummus, and grilled veggies, plus a gyro wrap. Everything was pretty good, but if I had to choose, I'd go with the wraps. The wrap itself was warm and chewy, which I really liked. Def get the pickled cabbage in it. The cilantro hummus had a nice kick to it and was definitely more flavorful than the standard version. Overall, everything was tasty, and the schug (a spicy condiment) was a great addition.

Supposed to be fresh and healthy pita...instead it is greasy Mexican food. Go to the Pita Guys instead for a tasty, fresh and less expensive meal.

The service is super nice like family. The ambience is very cute almost like a European restaurant. Very clean. And the food is absolutely delicious. Also with very nutritious options. Highly recommended.

Wasn't sure what I was craving, aimlessly driving around the area and saw this spot. I've been to their OG location in UTC so I knew it was going to be good. Walked in, was still pretty undecided about exactly what to eat but the guy behind the counter was great! He gave me recommendations, suggestions and definitely gave top tier service. The flavors were on point and the quantity was very generous! Such a great experience and I will be back!

I ordered takeout from Micheline's on a busy Sunday on a road trip, and the falafel pita sandwich did not disappoint! This thing was literally 3 pounds - it felt like the weights from my workout class!!! I ordered the falafel sandwich with all of the toppings (aside from the onions) and with tzatziki and cilantro hummus, and the textures and flavors were incredible. The standout of the entire sandwich was the red cabbage, so don't skip that! After reading other reviews I realized I missed out on trying the salads, but the pita sandwich was so massive I could only eat half at a time. So, for $14, I had lunch and dinner! I can't speak to the ambience as I just ran in and picked up my order after ordering on Yelp, but the man at the takeout counter was lovely and pleasantly surprised to receive a cash tip. The restaurant was packed and there was a decent line waiting to order, so this must be a popular spot! There was lots of outdoor seating and few indoor table options as well. We will definitely come back when we're in the neighborhood again!

Ordered via uber eats pickup. When I arrived at the designated pickup time, they hadn't even started making my order. Was about 20 minutes late from the promised time. Chicken Kabob was a little dry too.

Wow! The Peter house has huge flavor. My go-to is the chicken shawarma with the garlic aioli and the shoug with tabouli and baba ganoush. Wow, everything is so good. I loved how fresh their pita is and you've got to try all their different sauces. I'm telling you this place is the best.

This is the first time that we have stopped at Micheline"s Pita House, I knew it was a small local chain but there aren't any locations up close to where we live. Happen to be down in this area yesterday around lunchtime and checked out yelp for a good Mediterranean places and found this gem. Although the two of us split a pita sandwich it was very generously portioned the euro meat was awesome with the hummus mixed in onions cucumbers and tzatziki sauce. They have tons of other options from plates to bowls and wraps all of them looked pretty amazing super fresh cooked right there and put together right in front of you. I'm hoping they open some other locations up in North County but until then will try to hit this place to get our Gyros. Service was friendly and fast not much ambience but you can sit outside in the sun at a table :-)

The super-friendly staff and the Superfood Ancient Grains Salad might be the BEST Salad period in all of San Diego. There is ONE guy who does not make it as good, so if it's not "zesty," just ask for more dressing, and make sure you have your crunchies! LOVE this place. I drive all the way from OB just for this salad lol

I'm currently on a ketogenic diet (please pray for yuh boy ) and wanted a nice tasty salad. I saw they had a nice array of salads to pick from so it was only fitting for my unfortunate situation. My girlfriend and I were greeted by one of the friendly workers as we stared at the salad menu. He let us know there was even more to offer and was probably confused why a dude like me would not want the pita bread and meat combo plates with yummy rice. I almost broke my diet but nah the ketosis state must go on! I got the shawarma tabouli salad with extra chicken and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely one of the best salads I've had granted I haven't had many in the past but it was hitting the spot! Will definitely come back for the other salads during my unfortunate situation.

I come here almost once a week for this delicious meal. I crave it almost every day and it is always so fresh and good. Great service and very clean. I've had an amazing experience every time I have been here. Extremely consistent and well put

I ordered a doner kebab, but unfortunately, it was burnt like charcoal, and the side sauces I ordered weren't in the package.

Pro: Great Staff Good eats Lots of options, they have a menu on the wall in the back of the restaurant as salads are up front Solid fries! Con: Not open late Fiancé brought me here and I had no complaints. Have had food taken to go but eating there was a better experience. We came here to get away from bigger restaurants as we wanted a little more veg friendly and nothing over the top. MPH was well worth the stop! Vegetarian heavy but still offer meats. Vegan options are available here so really something for everyone. Fry bowl is fries topped with your choice of either meat/vegetarian option/Vegan option then topped with all your favs like Hummus, tzatziki sauce was delish along with all the other add on you can get. I do recommend stopping by Michelines Pita House wether you're a carnivore, vegetarian or vegan if you want good portion and tasty food!

We were frequent customers of Micheline's but due to some recent changes this may no longer be the case. We are uniformly devastated that they are no longer serving the incredible vinegar/pickled cabbage. Additionally, they are no longer serving the lentils. I have arrived home twice to find that instead of steak plate they gave me the first time Gyro and the second time Chicken for an online order. The third time the steak was chewy and impossible to eat. They told me it was a bad night. Seems to me like they have a lot of bad days and nights.

Great food and service! Seriously some of the best Mediterranean food I have ever had. The workers are friendly and helpful, especially Chris. Very affordable too. I highly recommend trying this place out. A new favorite.

We have been so pleased with Micheline's in Del Mar. The portion size is excellent and the quality is superb! We have had the falafels, gyros, chicken and many of the side salads and dips. Everything is GREAT!!! We have always taken out and the orders are done on time and always correct!!!

Dropped in here and were surprised these guys aren't busier! Probably good to hit this place up before the crowd finds put how good the food it. The music is loud with a cheerful vibe. The food is REALLY tasty and clean. The guys taking care of the business were friendly and fun. No line, friendly staff, solid food (with generous amounts of protein), and outdoor seating made this perfect for us. We'll he back.

Best bowl in town. I choose chicken with all the goodie's including house regular hummus. The pita is beyond fantastic.

Excellent. Ordered a variety of items takeout and everything was spot on. The pita are really good and a great value. High quality at a reasonable price. Other items like the stuffed grape leaves were some of the best I've had. Highly recommended.

One of my favs! Can't find a better falafel, hummus, and gyro. The pita bread is good too. I mostly order through Uber eats or pick it up to go. I dined in once, super casual and sort of like a chain restaurant for ambiance. They were friendly, always busy.

Amazing fresh food! we did a catered lunch from here for 55 people. the execution and taste of the food was amazing. The chicken and beef kabobs were the best ever ! The feedback from everyone was great. The serving size was large and there was plenty of food! Chris and the rest of the crew that work here are above helpful and kind. I would highly recommend this place. We have eaten here as a family and love it. so when I had to do a large catered lunch this was my first choice. Big hit with this lunch - thank you all!

The food is usually great but lately about 2/3 of the time the orders have been skimpy.

This place has such friendly staff and is so generous with their portions. I came on a Friday night for dinner and when I originally arrived there were maybe 5 people in the restaurant. By the time I left there was a line to order! There aren't a lot of tables at the restaurant and it seems like most people take their orders to-go. Their portions are generous and their food is delicious! Overall taste: 8/10

The food was excellent and prepared quickly. The staff was very helpful regarding lack of familiarity with menu and dairy intolerance. We will definitely visit again!!

We had Micheline's Pita House for lunch last weekend and it was disappointing. I was all the more disappointed cause I remembered having a great meal at the La Jolla/UTC location a couple of years back and was very excited to have one close to my place. We ordered the Veggie Combo Plate and the Fries Bowl with Falafel ( LO's pick ). The Falafel wasn't cooked through and was RAW. The Pita also wasn't toasted fully and was chewy. Hummus was lacking. It really was a sad tasting meal! The Tabouli and the pickled carrot were the best part of our meal. The BabaGanoush was also okay. Sorry but I will give this Micheline's a miss! If I have a hankering for Middle Eastern food, I will head up to PKG, a family favorite, in the same mall.

This is a relatively new branch of an expanding local chain of Middle Eastern eateries. Micheline's Pita House is located on the back east end of the Del Mar Highlands Town Center on the "upper" level. The interior of the suite was congested as there wasn't much space to wait for your food after getting through the queue to order. The seating was limited too with only a few tables available. There was a salad station in the front when you walked in. If you wanted a salad, then that was where you lined up. If a bowl/plate/pita was your choice, then another line was formed for those items. I ordered a Combo Plate which came with one protein, three sides, one sauce, and one pita. My selections were the steak shawarma, basmati rice, classic hummus, roasted veggies, and tzatziki sauce. Everything was stuffed into a large takeout container. The flavors didn't stand out, and I'm wondering if there were too many options on the menu. For example, do they really need to offer nine types of sauces? While it's nice to have a Chipotle style setup, I thought that having a more focused set of items would improve the quality and service. I felt rushed to place an order when it was my turn at the front of the queue. The overall experience was mixed so that was why I gave a three star rating.

The chicken kabob pita is amazing and the garlic aioli takes it to the next level! I keep it simple with just tomato and lettuce but there are a variety of other toppings you could add. I wasn't sure which chicken I should order, the kabob or shawarma, but chose the kabob because I liked the chunks of chicken better than the shaved. Service was quick, even on a weekday lunch.

I have been a huge fan of Micheline's PH at their other locations and was absolutely delighted when they opened this location much closer to home. My go to is their Hummus bowl, completely customizable with the toppings. My kids and hubby prefer the combo bowls (one combo bowl is plenty to split between my kids who prefer it over the kids menu), with basmati rice, choice of protein, lovely salads as sides and a variety of delicious sauces to choose from. I recently took my mom who is visiting from out of town and she chose to try the chicken shawarma tabouli salad and it was fantastic!! We have visited multiple times during the pandemic for take outs and service has always been on point! Highly recommend if you are in the mood for some good Mediterranean food.

I came here recently for the first time and I haven't had greek food in a while. I loved how the menu is super clear and the restaurant reminds me of how Chipotle serves you. The workers were super friendly and efficient. got the steak shawarma and it was tasty. They gave a generous amount of pita which I liked. I recommend coming here if you want something that tastes delicious and is quick!

The worst costumer service we've ever had. Didn't catch his name but if you see this guy stay away. Don't order he's so rude even when you don't do or say anything to him. The most disgusting behavior I've ever seen in customer service. Will report to management.

My favorite place for gyros and shawarma! All of their sauces are so flavorful and the meat is tender and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend !!!!!

This place rocks! Fast, friendly service. They answered questions in a friendly and honest manner. They gave out samples of the 3 hummus types. Hearty portion sizes. Healthy and delicious. I would eat here once a week if I lived in San Diego!

This Mediterranean-Mexican fusion cuisine is worthy of a larger family style dining restaurant. Don't let the fast food type preparation fool you, because the food is packed with flavor! The shawarma is cured in the most savory spices to produce a full flavored dish. I get the lentil rice with a combination of chicken and beef shawarma. The plethora of sauces, including chipotle, makes this fusion restaurant a tasty alternative to both the Mediterranean and Mexican food in town. The side dishes are just as flavorful as the entrees... I order the hummus and pickled cabbage slaw, and Edith is so kind to give me a heaping helping every time. Their special ingredient is the red pickled cabbage that can garnish your meal upon request. Also, the pita bread is freshly made on a sangak oven right before your eyes! I ask for Tzaziki sauce and cilantro humus with my meal. Once you try this place, then you will be hooked!

Food here is great. Although, today they made a mistake and I called in to complain. They apologized and made things right. Good people work here, and they aim to please. If you have a problem, just ring them up.. no need to go away mad or leave a nasty review. Moral of the story, times are tough, support the good guys... even when they make an honest mistake. Ordered lunch for the office based on a coworkers rec - never again. I paid $20 for a rice bowl that had maybe 3 tbsp of rice, a quarter cup of chicken, and just a giant pile of lettuce and tomatoes. I am not sure what style Mediterranean this place is but the toppings alone struck me as highly Americanized - I've never had chicken shawarma topped with red cabbage?? On top of my $20 cup of rice and chicken and box full of overpriced vegetables, the food wasn't even that good. Coworkers indicated that their gyro sandwiches were not good, and often missing tzatziki sauce with toppings they were surprised to find in a gyro sandwich. Also, for calling itself a "pita" house, the pita bread was chewy/tough and felt like it was at least a day old. I would never order from this place again - you're much better off ordering from a real falafel/Mediterranean style place, not whatever this "fast casual" place is pretending to be.
