Is It Cake? For Austin’s Imaginative Bakers, Anything Could Be | Eater Austin

"Owner Michelle Doyon says groom’s cakes shaped like football stadiums are among the most elaborate: "They’re challenging because they have so many details. They need to resemble the architecture, and the clients usually have high expectations," Doyon says. She typically meets with grooms to get pictures and learn which details matter, then recreates those elements with cake, icing, and fondant: "I love making custom cakes because I love the creative aspect and making them look as real as possible to the non-edible version," she says. One of her most complex cakes was modeled after Texas Christian University’s football stadium — ornate with a bright green field and purple and white sprinkles representing people in the stands — and it took two people 25 hours to complete. How to order: Submit a request online." - Erin Russell

We called and placed an order the week before for my husband's mom birthday, who was turning 80! The customer service was superb and we had the option to order the flavor of cake we wanted. We trusted Michelle with the design and oh my....did she deliver! The cake was simply beautiful and tasted amazing! She even delivered the cake at our scheduled time. We would definitely recommend getting your sweet treats here!

We ordered a 3 tiered strawberries and cream butter cream wedding cake and it looked fantastic! They delivered the cake to the event flawlessly. We were, however, disappointed with the taste of the cake. We had a cake tasting and chose the cake based on the flavor. The main issue I have with the cake was that there were hardly any strawberries! When the cake was cut and a lot of the middle frosting was revealed, I could see how sparse the strawberries were distributed within the frosting. When you got frosting, cake, and strawberries in one bite it was awesome, but the infrequency of those ideal bites was frustrating. We paid a lot for our cake, so maybe my expectations were too high. Photos below to show how amazing the cake looked!

This place is ideal for a delightful high tea experience! The setting is classic and charming, with a lovely European vibe. The staff is warm and attentive, adding to the overall inviting atmosphere. The tea and food are both flavorful and expertly prepared. Our favorite was the Peach White Tea, which had a wonderfully smooth taste from start to finish. The Brie and Fig Sandwich was a standout—so delicious, we wished we had three trays of them! We’ll definitely be back with friends, as everyone should experience high tea at least once in their life.

Michelle’s Patisserie did my wedding cake and it was amazing!!! It looked exactly like our inspo picture. We went with Bourbon caramel pecan and Amaretto peach as our cake flavors and they were delicious!!! Our guests love the cake! No leftovers!

Google
I needed a gluten free cake for our wedding - my husband and I had done quite a few gluten free tastings, but they all tasted dry and off somehow. We found Michelle’s Patisserie I think through another bride on here and I’m so happy we did! We actually had our tasting in-person with Michelle and she was so attentive and thoughtful in how she approached decorating and making our cake. The other tastings we had, they literally just set up to-go boxes for us and we had to eat it on our own, with no explanation of the cake or suggestions of filling/cake pairings, or anything. That’s why we loved Michelle’s because we really got the cake tasting experience AND the gluten free was so tasty, not dry or flaky. You couldn’t even tell it was GF. We did classic almond, and honey lavender flavors. We had multiple guests get multiple pieces and said it was so good! We kept the top tier and I’m super excited to eat it again in a year.

Yummy cake!! Michelle's Patisserie was easy to work with and provided us with fantastic cake. We chose Lemon Lovers and Tiramisu as our cake flavors, and they were delicious! The cake decorations were exactly what we envisioned.

This obsession started with a cake eating contest. Im not a cake eater. But I had been to many events where she had custom cookies, pastries, dessert boards and i loved all those but never her cake. I joined the contest because i dont mind humiliation. The cake was so delicious and moist. I won the contest and the prize was a small cake of my choosing

We ordered our wedding cake and pastries for our dessert bar from Michelle's for our wedding and they were all absolute show stoppers! Our wedding cake was absolutely perfect and looked beautiful! We ordered a semi-naked cake, very simple, with two different flavors (Cream of Coconut on one tier and Lemon Raspberry on the second tier) and both were delicious! We ordered a variety of small pastries for our dessert table (cheesecake squares, tiramisu squares, strawberry champagne petit fours, mini orange cupcakes, raspberry macaroons, and apricot macaroons) and we didn't have any left after the wedding. We chose Michelle's because their desserts aren't too overly sweet, they truly have the perfect balance. Look no further than Michelle's for the perfect wedding treats!

Yelp
Six years later, this is still my go-to cake place! I recently ordered a German Chocolate cake for my husband's surprise poker-themed 40th birthday, and it came out so cute! The design was spot-on, fitting the theme perfectly. Even though it didn't have the traditional German chocolate frosting, which I knew it wouldn't.......the cake was still a hit with everyone at the party. It looked fantastic and made for a memorable centerpiece.

Yelp
I really wanted to give them 5 starts but unfortunately a major corner is being cut which hurts the end result product. The positives: Convenient location, good customer service, beautiful cakes, great selection, very cute decor. The negative: They're using hi-ratio premixed shortening icing which is similar to Crisco. The frosting is flavorless and has a greasy chemical like taste and leaves a weird texture in your mouth. I understand why they do it, I used to work in the culinary industry but frosting can make or break a cake and theirs does. If they could fix this it would be a top notch bakery. Their cake itself is good but the frosting is gross. The price is also very high for how sub-par the flavor is.

Yelp
Had a really great tea party experience here! Upon walking in, the private room was decorated to the brim with everything pink. My party of 4 was seated in a comfortable corner and all the tableware was already set up. The tea party came with an assortment of sandwiches, pastries, and sweets, which we didn't think would fill us up, but it did. The beef, tuna, and cucumber sandwiches were delicious. I'm not a sweets person so I thought all the pastries and desserts were a tad sweet and thus, didn't get to finish it. We were given 2 teas of our choosing and were able to order more. Overall, it's a cute experience, although a little pricey against other tea party experiences I've had in other cities.

Yelp
Super cute concept to have Austin English Tea Company service tea parties in the tea room, located conveniently within Michelle's Patisserie. Just about two hours of tea pots, offering different types of teas (two pots at a time). The coconut oolong and peach white were amongst the favorites, followed by the jasmine green. You can bet the caffeine will hit after indulging in the selection provided. Absolutely worth looking into purchasing some of the tea for home! As for the foods offered as a part of the spread, enough to munch on, but way too many sweets compared to the savory options. Overall a good deal, and a good time! Suitable for girl's dates and catch ups.

Yelp
A fabulous Friendsgiving Afternoon Tea with Austin English Tea at Michelle's Patisserie! It was a special service this time with a complimentary glass of Prosecco to celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving! Our host, Sarah, outdid herself with her Thanksgiving spread - we had a light and scrumptious tiny cheesecake in fancy espresso cups to end our meal and some delicious crunchy in the outside, nice and fluffy on the inside artichoke frittata to begin it! Wonderful, convivial atmosphere all around and just the perfect whimsical afternoon tea ambience one imagines in a tea shop! We had fun inspecting the beautiful and ornate mismatched tea pots and cups they have set for us at the table! We had a great time and can't wait to come back in the new year for more afternoon tea celebrations!

Yelp
The cookies and cream cake we ordered for my daughter's birthday was beautiful and delicious! We absolutely loved it.

Yelp
I first discovered Michelle's Patisserie back in 2021 when we used them to make mini wedding cake and petit fours for our wedding which turned out to be fantastic! When we went for our tasting, I saw that they had a super cute room for tea parties, but at the time, due to covid, it was closed, so I was thrilled when I received an invitation for an afternoon tea party for a baby shower. It was a really cute British style tea party complete with English and peach tea. We were served crustless sandwiches, clotted cream and biscuits, egg soufflé , mini French macarons, fruit and pieces of a shortbread dessert that was reminiscent of billionaire shortbread bars. While it was not Fortnum and Mason, It was really cute, the food was great and we had a good time.

Yelp
This tea shop is so cute! I really enjoyed the afternoon tea event we had there. There were several varieties of teas to choose from, and all of the food was delicious. There were cucumber sandwiches, brie sandwiches, and also ones with ham, or a vegetarian option. The scone was delicious with the clotted cream and the jam. The desserts consisted of Millionaire shortbread, berry cheesecake, and a macaron. I couldn't even finish everything! All of the dinnerware was so eclectic and cute. They even have tea available for purchase and a dessert case in the front with cupcakes and macaroons to go. This would be a great place for a ladies event or really just anytime to treat yourself!

Yelp
Catered my son's birthday party. Wonderful food, great attention to detail, easy process. Great for authentic tea service.

Yelp
Ordered a simple 10inch cake. Yellow with chocolate icing. I wanted it nice as it was mom's 50th birthday. It looked okay and tasted like cardboard. Waste of $85

Yelp
Great cupcakes! They have so many great flavors, it's pretty hard to choose, so order a sampler and split between folks is my way to go. The bourbon pecan was great, as was the salted caramel (whole pool on top!). Chocolate options were interesting too (cookies and cream, german chocolate, reeses) but I didn't get to try them personally. My only qualm on them is they're a bit on the smaller size for the price. It definitely looks like Michelle's does a lot of other baked goods for special occassions and I'm sure they're excellent too.

Yelp
We were so happy with Michelle's Patisserie for our wedding cake!!! We are foodies so the cake was really important to us. We tried about 6 different cake shops and Michelle's cake tasted the best BY FAR. Plus, we found it to be a huge bonus that her cake was even priced lower than a lot of the competitors that didn't taste as good. They were very friendly and easy to work with and the cakes looked beautiful! We had so many people come up to us at the wedding and say they ate multiple slices because it was so delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Michelle's Patisserie is my absolute favorite cake shop! The cakes are delicious, the decoration and elegance are beyond expectation, and the service is unmatched! I only use Michelle's for any special occasion and highly recommend doing the same!

Yelp
Cake and service - blah. Not worth the price . Target or Heb has better cakes What near can I saw . Flavor was blah and the icing sucked

Yelp
Michelle gave us an absolutely gorgeous and incredible wedding cake!! We didn't know what flavor we wanted for our cake, and Michelle was able to provide several options that we loved! We even had a hard time getting over there after our work to try them, and she went out of her way to have her samples ready for us. We went with bourbon Carmel pecan and strawberries and cream, and the cake was a huge hit! Her flavor profile in her cake was incredible, and we still have friends who are mad they didn't get a piece because everyone keeps talking about it! We absolutely recommend Michelle, and know she would do a great job making an event special, because that's what she did for our wedding!

Yelp
We hired Michelle's Patisserie to make our wedding cake in November 2022. They did a beautiful job! We liked Michelle right away when we went in for a tasting. She was so personable and asked a lot of great questions to help us figure out exactly what we were looking for. We ended up going with the dulce de leche and Tres leches cakes. They were so moist and delicious. All of the guests loved the cake, and we got so many compliments! The delivery on the day of the wedding was on time and super easy. I would 100% recommend Michelle's Patisserie. They were professional, communicative, and made a delicious cake. Thank you, Michelle!

Yelp
I've debated leaving a review for this because -- what's done is done. BUT I spent a year in communication with MP planning my bridal and grooms cake. 5 stars for taste. 3 for other reasons. My bridal cake photo example had sugar flower designs and I got non-3D painted versions. It looked very cheap and unrefined. Not like the photo, but passable. I would have opted for sugar flowers had I been prompted. What's driving this review is the groom's cake. I asked for and repeatedly mentioned I wanted refinement, as it was a sports shield and would need this kind of attention so not to look like a bday cake. I wanted portrait style. Not only did I NOT get portrait style (I got a white rectangle cake landscape wise with a small shield in the middle), but it also looked like a 4 year old bday cake for my 44 yo well established husband. Honestly -- how last minute was this cake made? The piping along the edges was not the quality I was expecting, but I also wasn't expecting piping. Anyway. My wedding is over, I'm married to a dope af person and people ate the cake! Tasted amazing. They were very nice people at MP and generally responsive, which is great. I would say I wasted a lot of time in clear, communicative emails though, and got maybe 65/100 of what I wanted overall.

Yelp
So I found this place online and I feel in love with their cake flavors. My boyfriend wanted to surprise me so he took over as point of contact for the order once I made initial communication via email. 2 days later was I contacted. My boyfriend said after I passed the ball over to his court did communication between Kim become hard. The cake I got on my birthday was not one of their wonderfully crafted cake batters (like honey and Lavendar or cookies and creme) but something I could have purchased from the store. Them little things were not worth $4 a cupcake. I might give them another try but I'm not in Austin enough to really keep my word

Yelp
Went to the new Liberty Hill location this morning! Hands down the best pastries in the central Texas area!!!!

Yelp
We were so thrilled with Michelle's work on our wedding cake! She is so special in the wedding cake realm because her flavors are unique and unlike those I saw on other wedding cake bakeries! We went with a honey lavender layer, chocolate indulgence and matcha tres leches. They were all a big hit, with some people saying it was the best wedding cake they had ever had! We kept the matcha tres leches for ourselves because we loooove matcha, and it was so moist with a deep matcha flavor. The honey lavender was so popular, with a subtle lavender flavor and just the perfect sweetness to match it. We fell in love with the flavors immediately when we tried them. She does a complementary tasting for wedding cakes! The cake was beautifully constructed and even ran out at our wedding! I highly highly recommend her!

Yelp
My cake was beautiful! I got this cake for my sons 30th birthday. Added some sparklers and it was perfect

Yelp
We ordered 18 red velvet cupcakes for an employee at work who is moving. They charged us $4.75 per cupcake. The total with taxes and fees (not sure what the "fees" are was almost $100. I was expecting nice big cupcakes with lots of frosting. The cupcakes were smaller than what I could get at H‑E‑B and didn't taste much better. I was highly disappointed. If I'm going to pay almost $5 for a cupcake it better be worth it. I don't know how this bakery gets away with charging that much for their cupcakes. Needless to say I will not be ordering anything from them again.

Yelp
A group of women and I enjoy going to tea houses to gather, chat, catch up and of course, enjoy some good food and tea. We met here for their high tea which was a wonderful experience. The space is nice. The tables were beautifully set. Our hostess was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the tea so much, a few months later we had them cater a private party. High tea consists of scones, cream and jams, a savory course ( tea sandwiches ) and sweets. It's a wonderful tea house. We enjoy donning our hats and gloves and embracing the experience, but I'd be just as happy dropping in for a cuppa tea and snack in my jeans and sneakers.

Yelp
We just hosted our daughter's Quince and hired Michelle's Patisserie to make her cake. Michelle was amazing from the beginning. She helped me with the design of the cake. I wanted something traditional yet modern. It turned out even more beautiful than what I imagined. If you have never had Michelle's cakes, you're in for a trea! Her cakes are not only beautiful but so delicious. Our guests loved it!!! Thank you Michelle!

Yelp
Honestly I don't know how she has high reviews. I ordered a birthday cake for my 1 year old, showed them what I wanted and explained the details and everything. Then they said it would be 60 dollars so I was like ok sure if you can make it look great and just like the picture. The end result when I picked up the cake it looked like it was rushed the lettering looked like chicken scratch and the circles on the cake were simply just placed on there like it was nothing. No effort was made on this cake and was definitely not worth 60 dollars that I paid for. I was very disappointed by this messy looking cake and so basic. The website has pictures of amazing cakes and this is all I get. By the way toppers on the cake I had to put on there and bought myself to make it somewhat better looking. But without the toppers this cake is worth maybe 20 dollars to me. Ridiculous!

Yelp
So my wife called in for a tiny two tier cake with summer colors she explained in detail as she sat next to me she wanted red ,pink flowers incorporated with decorative details on a white cake . She also specifically asked for strawberry on the fist tier and raspberry lemon on the second bottom tier . She explained this more than once and was assured the cake would be ready on the 28th of May 2020 . Believing she was going to get an amazing cake like on the pictures shown she agreed to pay a lot more than what we thought was reasonable considering the reviews and other pictures . Unfortunately when we arrived she came back to the car in tears because of her high expectations of this $175 tiny cake that she thought was going to have beautiful colored summertime flowers and decorated beaded tiers . Instead the cake was a tiny two tier flat WHITE on WHITE with almost illegible tiny WHITE writing on the top and WHITE quickly done last minute flowers down one side of the cake . Again the cake had NO beading on either tier nor any other decorative aspect other than white flowers on one side and the small white writing on top . The cake looked last minute and not even a priority it was so incomplete. I mean clean and minimal is one thing and miscommunication is another but this was just beyond sad . I say that because it was like a slap in the face when I saw what $175 dollars gets you here . I'm sure we where not first priority and our measly $175 cake was the last on the to do list . I called the shop as we sat out in the car in disbelief thinking is this a joke and asked what had happened , I was told go ahead and bring it back and we could have it redone how we wanted by the next day . I explained we didn't have that kind of time and if they could please put some color on the cake of any kind and redo the writing in color like we had asked for in the first place . I also asked if they could add something around the tiers that made it look complete and not an after thought . The lady working there said "it was a miscommunication please come back in an hour I got you, we will add some beading and colored flowers" if that is what I wanted . This being our only choice at that point I gladly took the cake back inside and crossed my fingers . As you can see on the photo that was the end result and answer to summer flowers and decorative beading on the tiers . I can't say it was horrible or ugly but not $175 worth of cake for sure . On top of that when we cut the cake the next nite after our small covid 19 wedding we realized there was no raspberry lemon just lemon on the second tier . Not a huge deal as the cake was moist and tasted great just disappointing once again after the small issues from the previous day . I will say these cakes are delicious and if they took more time to detail our cake like all the ones we had seen online we would have been ecstatic and recommend them to everyone we know but I also hate bragging about something then having one of my close friends or relatives let down on my account . With all this being said I'm sure they do great work for high dollar customers or repeat clients but as a first time customer I would be hesitant to go back for a cake and be taken for a sucker when it comes time to deliver the final product . It's not asking for much in my opinion to deliver what you promise and instead try and blame it on miscommunication or interpretation. That's a copout and trying to remedy it by then playing dumb and saying you did your best and didn't fully understand what concept we where looking for because you decided not to write down colorful summer flowers is BS to me . So when trying to maintain your online reputation is your number one priority instead of delivering good product and trying to keep up those five start reviews you become blind to having any error at all and apology or no apology seems like a cocky move . What are you supposed to do , you ask??? (Or not ) Well when you charge $175 for a white tiny two tier cake for 12 people with minimal effort in the design and forget to add ingredients to the flavor profile because in your defense( A. )You misinterpreted what was said over the phone and apparently didn't write anything down , or (B .)took us for suckers and did the bare minimum because who are we to know anything about cakes ! You should probably learn from this and not get upset and write this long drawn out response to further prove your side of the story to make yourself feel better and discredit my complaints . It's constructive criticism not hating and with all your other good reviews might help balance the judgement your other NEW customers make when coming here especially on small ticket orders like ours . Thank you for trying to make it better thank you for a moist cake but it's not what we asked for , even if it's not the worst looking after thought of a cake .

Yelp
Oh my gosh. Michelle's hit it out of the park for me. Their pastries and desserts are incredibly delicious and beautiful. I ordered a variety of petit fours, cakeballs, tarts, cheesecake squares and tiramisu squares for a party, and even after having a huge BBQ dinner, my guests ate every single piece. They looked so elegant and beautiful on the table. I'm going to order a lot more next time. I also want to add that the staff was so easy to work with. I highly recommend Michelle's for any event for which you need delicious desserts.

Yelp
We booked an afternoon tea party for our friend's wedding shower and it was delightful! The scones, tea sandwiches and cakes were just the right about of food. The tea was delicious- our favorite was the white peach. Michelle was so accommodating with us and I would definitely recommend her!

Yelp
Michelle's Patisserie made our wedding cake, and they did a fantastic job! They were so accommodating during our many date changes due to the pandemic, and we are so appreciative of that. The team perfectly executed our vision and matched our wedding colors, and the flavors were SO delicious! We got so many compliments from our guests on it as well. Thank you so much for making our wedding day special!

Michelle H.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Michelle's Patisserie made the cake for our wedding and we were so happy with it! We ended up with the tiramisu flavor after trying 4 flavors, which were all so good. We also purchased a few different treats instead of a groom's cake (cheesecake bites, pecan bars, lemon bars, and donuts) and used their cake & treats stands. Thanks so much! Yelp
Absolutely delicious mini croissants! We love that the fruit puree/jam isn't overly sweet and it being the perfect size for a small breakfast or quick snack in the early afternoon. My toddler is always saying she's hungry and this size of a snack won't give her sugar high (we do pair it with milk/hummus/carrots/etc.). Love all the flavors in this box: regular, peach, caramel apple, cinnamon roll, cheese, and vanilla raisin. We will be regular customers from now on.

Yelp
WOW! Ordered my wedding cake, a Chai Spice cake, after tasting six flavors, ALL flavors were phenomenal. Tried several different bakers in Austin that were recommended via the Knot and Yelp, a lot of them were artificial flavors. Hands-down this was the best baker for flavor and texture. Fresh and natural ingredients, wonderful flavor combinations, friendly staff, creative options. Buttercream tasted like traditional French buttercream. Can't wait to go back and order more pastries and cakes! They also have a tea room, can't wait for post-covid so we can book an afternoon tea experience!

Yelp
I had Michelle's Patisserie make a vanilla cake with raspberry/white chocolate mousse cake for my daughters bday. I was in such a rush because I was going to make it, but wasn't getting back in time to get it done I called Michelle's Patisserie and they were able to fulfill the needs. I also ordered 24 cupcakes.. the cake was AWESOME!

Yelp
I am one of those people who likes to support local business. I was planning a tea party for my 40th birthday . I went to check with them and they mentioned it was too early to book as the party was 2 1/2 months ahead , which i understand . However ,after a month and a half , when I tried to book the venue for tea party , I called them 5 times and emailed 3 times . They never bothered to respond . I went on to book after in person(drove 9 miles) and they seem not co-operative with dates or the time . It felt like they didn't care if I book or not . Bad customer service and won't recommend to friends and family .

Yelp
I ordered a cake for my boyfriends birthday and I was completely embarrassed by their work. I ordered the 6" white cake and it seems as if they forgot to include sugar in the middle filling because it had the taste of just butter. I emailed them to discuss this issue a little over a week ago and even included a video of the cake not even 1/2 way eaten being thrown in the trash, no surprise I received no response. I was completely embarrassed to ask my boyfriend "just eat the cake around it". Terrible.

Yelp
I'm so glad I was recommended to Michelle's! Beautiful cake, delicious- not too sweet, not too plain- just right! I even rented their cute cake stand! I would definitely recommend them! Thank you for making our lovely, unforgettable cake!

Yelp
We purchased a croquembouche for our small wedding reception and were very disappointed. It was very poorly put together and did not look at all like a croquembouche.

Yelp
Michelle's cakes are the best! They not only look great, but taste delicious! They have a great variety of flavors that are all amazing. I like to get a big cake because my family fights over the the leftovers. There can never be too much! Michelle's Patisserie is the only place I order for special events and birthdays.

Jessica A.

Yelp
I was in NEED of a birthday cake delivery in such short notice. I found Michelle's Patisserie! Thank goodness! I live in San Antonio and my little sister who lives in Austin was having a birthday the very next day. The unfortunate circumstances of Covid-19 happening kept me from celebrating WITH my sister. She always has a buttercream cake every year, her favorite, and was sadden that she would already be celebrating her birthday without family. Michelle saved the day. She took my order, made my order and had it delivered to my sister's front door in 2.5 hours! I happen to be on video call with my sister when she received her cake surprise. So thank you so much to, Michelle and her wonderful team! P.S. My sister says her cake is very tasty.

Yelp
I just want to say Thank you and what an absolute pleasure it was to speak to someone in person given the roller coaster world we live in. The Whiskey Honey cake I ordered was so moist delicious and a had flavor all it's own. I ordered a modest birthday cake and picked up a beautiful work of art, needless to say my friend was completely blown away. I can honestly say without hesitation Michelle's Patisserie will be getting all of my cake business from now on. . Because as my mom used to say you treat people bad you get nothing, But when your nice you get EVERYTHING!!! Thank you Michelle

Yelp
Great responses and customer service when you are looking for a specialty cake or dessert. *disclaimer* I have not ordered from them YET, but I will soon. The reason I rate them now is simply because I contact MANY of the specialty places looking for a specific item and fulfill a request. NO ONE RESPONDED except here... I am not exaggerating. I contacted over 10 establishments with 4+ star ratings. No returned phone calls, FB messages, or Yelp responses. The way I feel is that I did not get anything this time but Michelle's has solidified my future as a customer.

Yelp
I had such a great experience from the moment I contacted Michelle's for a quote on a 20th Anniversary Cake. Kim, the office manager, was excellent. The week I was supposed to pick up my cake, I notified Kim that I needed to pick it up a day early and needed another cake for my sister-in-law who shared our same anniversary date. Kim was so nice and accommodating. When I picked up my cakes on Friday, I was beyond impressed. They were beautiful and everything was edible! The cakes were not only beautiful, but they tasted great as well. The prices were definitely reasonable considering the final product! have used a few different cake bakers in Austin, but I have finally found the one I will always use!

Yelp
I purchased my wedding cake here back when Michelle was baking out of her home. The cake was beautiful and I still to this day have not tasted a better cake. The buttercream was exquisite. Stop by and pick up her chocolate caramel cookies and peti-fours, you will be glad you did!

Yelp
We were on the fence about getting a cake at all, as we didn't want to add more stress and thought onto everything we were already planning (and we've always been disappointed by wedding cake), but an easy cake tasting at Michelle's Patisserie changed our minds! From the beginning, though the business is always busy with tons of orders, the office manager Kim did everything within her power to get us what we needed when we needed it (pricing quotes, design & budget suggestions, cake tastings, etc.). We were hoping for a cake that wouldn't be heavy on our budget and with a design that could fit within our wedding color scheme (a real "no fuss" cake) and Michelle's Patisserie really delivered! We ended up with a 2-tier cake that served 50, which was perfect for cake-cutting and photos, and 1 sheet cake that could be cut in the back that served 25. We chose the almond with chocolate amaretto and white chocolate raspberry cake flavors, and the cake was moist and delicious - our guests couldn't stop raving about it! Everyone also loved the blue-purple swirl design (which fit our wedding colors) and the crunchy white balls, which added a great texture to the cake. The cake was so affordable that it barely took up any of our budget! We highly recommend getting your wedding cake from this vendor (if you can get in)!

Yelp
Michelle is so talented! If you're curious, go to her Instagram page and watch her time lapses of her making all her delicious cakes, then schedule your tasting ASAP. If you find yourself not hearing from them via email and get a busy signal when you call, it's cause this sweet bakery is ran with a few power houses trying to do it all! have no fear, i haven't heard anyone complain that their orders didn't go through. And I, a wedding of 200+ guests were not failed. She delivered our 3 tier delicious chocolate and strawberry and cream cakes on time. and it was the best tasting cakes ever. I wish I had more right now to eat! Thank you Michelle and Kim and the rest of the team for making our wedding perfect.

Yelp
Dear Michelle, Thank you for being part of our special day. You did an excellent job with our wedding cake and my husband and I were very impressed. You made our evening wonderful and we received so many compliments from family and friends. The white chocolate raspberry flavor is the best! I cannot wait for our one year anniversary so that I can have that cake again! Thank you for all your help!
