Last week our family flew from abroad to visit this huge beloved stadium where my husband graduated from UM 30 years ago. A place of good memories and home of his favorite college football team, the Wolverine.

Michigan Stadium isn’t just the largest stadium in the U.S. — it’s a cathedral of college football. The moment you step into The Big House, you feel the weight of history, tradition, and sheer scale. With over 100,000 fans filling the stands, the energy is unmatched — electric, emotional, and deeply rooted in pride. Game day in Ann Arbor is a full-on event.

From the outside the stadium looked very exciting great location. I can only imagine on game day. Im Passing through Michigan

In 2014, I traveled eight hours from PA to Michigan Stadium to watch Real Madrid vs. Manchester United in front of a record-breaking crowd of 109,799. This game surpassed the previous mark of 101,799 set at the Rose Bowl for the 1984 Olympic final. The energy in the stadium was absolutely electric—we performed the wave, making the entire place shake with excitement. It was truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had, something I’ll never forget! Unfortunately, I wasn’t allowed to bring my camera inside, but the memories will always stay with me.

Wonderful experience at the Big House, we parked at a church close to the stadium and walked over. The club seats are very nice and comfortable, also has private restrooms and bar within the club area.

Google
No place better to watch football. But other events such as the Big House 5k give you the chance to finish on the 60 yard line and see the stadium from a players view.

Google
Michigan Stadium, located in Ann Arbor, is an iconic venue and the largest stadium in the U.S. Being here for a marching band rehearsal offers a unique experience. The sheer size and atmosphere are awe-inspiring, even when empty. The acoustics in the stadium are impressive, allowing music to echo beautifully across the stands. It’s easy to feel the history and excitement of game days as you perform. The field is well-maintained, and the stadium staff are helpful. Parking can be a bit of a challenge depending on the event. The views from all angles are fantastic. Overall, it’s a thrilling place for a rehearsal!

Yelp
"An Unforgettable Experience at The Big House!" If you're a college football fan, attending a game at The Big House--Michigan Stadium--is an experience like no other. Located in the heart of Ann Arbor, Michigan, this iconic stadium is a true fortress of college football, and I can honestly say it lived up to every bit of the hype. First off, the sheer size of the stadium is mind-blowing. With a seating capacity of over 110,000, The Big House lives up to its reputation as the largest stadium in the United States. As soon as you walk through the gates, you can feel the history, tradition, and excitement in the air. The atmosphere is electric, with fans wearing maize and blue and cheering for their Michigan Wolverines with unmatched passion. The energy is contagious, and it's clear that this is more than just a game--it's an event that brings people together in a way that only college football can. The facilities are top-notch, with plenty of concessions, clean restrooms, and helpful staff. The food options are diverse, offering everything from classic stadium snacks like hot dogs and pretzels to more Michigan-centric fare like Coney Dogs and funnel cakes. The lines can get long during peak times, but with such a massive crowd, it's expected. Beyond the game, the tailgating scene is a major highlight. Fans gather in the parking lots and streets surrounding the stadium, grilling, socializing, and getting ready for the big game. The sense of camaraderie and pride is evident, and it's the perfect way to get hyped up before heading inside. The Michigan Wolverines play with such heart and determination, and the crowd's energy amplifies that spirit. From the pre-game traditions--like the Michigan Marching Band and the iconic Go Blue! chant--to the sound of the crowd roaring with every touchdown, the experience is nothing short of magical. Overall, watching a game at The Big House is a must for any college football fan, or even anyone who just wants to experience one of the most iconic sports venues in the country. The combination of passionate fans, rich history, and the electric atmosphere make it a bucket-list experience. It's a place where memories are made, and where every fan feels like they're part of something much bigger than the game itself.

Yelp
We were driving around Ann Arbor and stumbled upon Michigan Stadium. It was built in 1927 for $950,000. It has been through numerous additions and renovations. The original seating capacity was 84,401. Today it seats 107,901. I was just happy to get a pic of The Big House. This place is iconic for college football. This place is gigantic. It spans a whole block.
google avatar

Yelp
Had a blast here! Unfortunately Michigan lost but I just wanted to shout out the nice girls who were selling cans of beer. All the staff were very nice. As far as stadiums it was huge but pretty basic.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
How can you not take in a game at The Big House? Great atmosphere, seats not so much. They are for 1920's butts. So small, no wonder they can fit 110,000 in the stadium.

Yelp
Michigan stadium was really cool, so much history in one place! It was super cold, but super super fun experience!

Yelp
I was fortunate enough to fulfill a life long dream and visit the Big House this past Friday. I've been a Wolverines fan since I was 5 years old and got to make the journey across the country for a stadium tour. Kayla was extremely professional and helpful in getting my tour booked. Bob (and Bob 2 in training) lead my tour and WOW was it a great time. They were informative, entertaining and made the opportunity a positive lifetime memory. Thanks so much to everyone involved with the Michigan program. I will never forget being able to tour the locker room and be out on the field.
google avatar

Mark N.

Yelp
Elite program with an elite marching band and devoted fans. Great place to see a game even if you are not a Blue homer. Great views from most seat locations. A couple of small gripes. No beer is a miss. The food situation is suboptimal. There could be more or larger bathrooms as well. The lines were super long even for men.

Yelp
Didn't go here, but a big fan UM fan as my daughter does. An amazing place with great pregame and game atmosphere and of course the noise and energy from 100K. Why the three stars, OMG the vending for food is so bad. Restrooms and MDen is great, food and drink are sorry and incapable of providing the same food and drink experience for such a large crowd should deserve

Yelp
Always a good time when I come to a game anywhere on campus . Good is good, atmosphere is always awesome and to top it off a big blue victory

Yelp
Tailgating fun! Stadium big. Old stadium, food not memorable, worth a visit, lot of traffic.
google avatar

William L.

Yelp
Whether you like the team or not (Go Blue!), this is a place you MUST visit! All my life I'd been saying I needed to make it there. The perfect opportunity arrived as my wife's favorite team was in town. I've NEVER seen tailgating like this. The stadium has 100,000+ in attendance. There may have been over 200,000 tailgating. Hearing the roar of the crowd and the passion in the stadium was very moving. It also helped that we took the "W!" The facility and surrounding area is beautiful. The food was good. If I lived here full time I'd look to get season tickets.

Yelp
Michigan is the besttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt national champs who got it better than us, NOBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
I mean, COME ON NOW! IT'S THE BIG HOUSE! I'm an alum (graduated in 2006), but we came back for the Detroit Free Press Marathon and had to make it to a home football game while we were at it! Even in a chilly rain, Michigan Stadium is one of the best places to be! Go Blue! 〽
google avatar

Vivian W.

Yelp
Finally we are at the Michigan stadium when our daughter is having her graduation ceremony! It's super big, and a lot of steps to come down to get close to the stage, but when all finished, i had hard time to walk all the way back! Oh my god.
google avatar

Kristina O.

Yelp
Nothing beats the BIG HOUSE! Great food, great fans, great football team. It would get six stars if it starts serving beer though. #GoBlue!

McKenzie C.

Yelp
$24 for a drink i had to make myself and a cold hotdog. unbelievable. and i can't even take it on the field. Crazy.

Yelp
Amazing place!! Saw a great game between Michigan and Indiana yesterday. Nothing like being with 110,000 other people, all screaming. We were in the Endzone in row three.Row three is actually about row five, but it's very close to the field where you can see the action. I guess there's actually a row one, 1A 1B. Don't ask me - I don't fully understand it. The seats, as in the entire stadium, are very close together. Your seat number is painted on the bench. Bring something to sit on! Somehow it always seems like there are more people in the row then there are seat numbers. Or perhaps everyone is a bit wider than the seat numbers. Either way, you will get close and friendly with the people by you. Check it out!

Yelp
The BIGGEST football stadium in the entire world! (How can you not give it 5 Stars?) Go Blue 〽

Yelp
Out of the approximately two dozen stadiums college football stadiums I have visited, Michigan Stadium on a Saturday night during a "Maize Out" definitely stands out as one of the greatest college football experiences I have ever experienced... and this is coming from someone who went to Alabama and Texas. The Big House is the largest venue in college football, but that is only one element of the experience that makes it great. The grounds are incredibly clean for a football stadium, the crowd actually stays excited throughout much of the festivities, the halftime show was absolutely nuts (granted, this was a special one due to it occurring on 9/11, but it was better than any other college halftime I've ever attended by a long shot), and the view from pretty much every seat is quite good given that seating feels more like a race track than a colosseum so to speak. I still think SEC tailgates may be king, and I was definitely not too impressed with a trip to Ohio Stadium about a decade ago (2005 vs Texas), but this trip to the Big House made me re-think whether Big 10 stadiums and games hold up against the SEC and Texas/Oklahoma games I had seen in the past. Perhaps I might need to prioritize Camp Randall and Happy Valley as I continue my stadium tour across America. Bottom line is easily in the upper echelon of college football stadium experiences and very well could be the best in the entire country in that regard.

Yelp
Terrible. Security is so low. Stadium was awful. Do not recommend. Horrible place. Would not come back.

Yelp
I love Michigan stadium the atmosphere I'd infectious it's always a great time. But... if you have food allergies I sure you eat before you arrive. Their gf selections are few and far between, even their nachos are not gf, I'm guessing the corn chips they use have wheat and forget the tacos, they use flour tortillas. I ended up having French fries and iced cream for dinner... a kids dream lol.

Yelp
My first time in the big house & also first exposure to the fervor that are U of M fans. I experience U of M enthusiasm lightly at work, but when it's with 110,000 Michigan fans, it was almost electric! The fans are SO interactive and into it - it's just a fun experience! I was 1 of the 10 Hoosier fans in the stadium, but I didn't really feel unsafe until some dirty playing went on (yikes, sorry on behalf of IU!) then it became like mob mentality with people chanting to "kick him out" or boo'ing. Maybe it was just because of the sheer number of people! But, that part was a littttttle scary. Besides that, it was a great experience! The stadium is HUGE. We purchased tickets on stubhub from a season pass holder so we had comfy cushions to sit on! That was definitely clutch. I was impressed that they had a Fuku (David Chang) there. I had the fuku popcorn ($6) seasoned with jalapeno and ranch. It was more buttery than anything but I did get a bit of the jalapeno kick! My friends enjoyed the Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich thoroughly ($13 but served with fries). 296/365

Yelp
Michigan Stadium is the largest stadium (capacity wise) in the country and they seat nearly 110,000 folks. I came here when I was a kid for UofM football games with my alumni aunt and had very fond memories of those times but hadn't been in decades, and definitely not since the expansion to that capacity. So when we came for the Manchester United/Liverpool soccer game earlier this summer I didn't quite know what to expect. As someone who now lives in Ann Arbor, I stay away from the stadium during game days so I went with very few expectations other than trepidation over the crowd size and traffic. It's wild! HUGE, packed, and overwhelming. I'm not the biggest fan of crowds so the fact that the stadium was almost at capacity gave me a bit of anxiety, but everything moved swiftly and for the most part the crowd was pretty polite. The energy was infectious tho, and watching the match was thrilling. You're not here for comfort, tho. The bleachers are tight and there isn't a whole lot of legroom. I had a headache by the end of the match because I was SO close to the guy in front of me and his overwhelming cologne. But it was still a blast! We had so much fun as a family checking out the soccer game together. Our seats had a great view of the field and the big screens helped us make out the details we couldn't see. I would definitely come back for a football game if the opportunity presented itself. My major gripe was that they didn't allow bags into the game. Not sure if this is a regular Michigan Stadium thing or just the soccer game thing but no where on our tickets or any of the emails we received stated this so of course we each had small bags with us (cross-bodies and/or fanny packs, nothing huge!) that we had to wait in line to check. The good news is that the checking process was free and efficient (both drop off and pick up) the bad news is that it was just a pain in the ass to have to do in the first place. Oh well. Also getting out of there was insane. Traffic was terrible. We ended up just walking home the 2 miles back to our house bc it was faster than any Lyft/bus/etc would have been.

Yelp
Michigan is made up of History. Tradition. And, Legend. There are few comparisons when it comes to awe-inspiring sports venues. Michigan Stadium boasts the largest crowds in the country, and second largest in the world. To experience the thunderous roar and enthusiasm on game day is truly a spectacular experience. For those Michigan Football enthusiasts, you can experience the thrill of the gridiron by scheduling a guided stadium tour at MGoBlue.com. Although listed as a 90 minute tour, the tour actually lasted for 2.5 hours. Led by a knowledgable guide, you will have your fill of football history, as you tour the press area, media broadcast areas, private suites, and finally the locker room and field. The tour is priced at $100 if less that 7 in the group, or $15 per person, whichever is higher. Hail! Go Blue! #harbaughnation

Yelp
I can't believe I've never wrote a Yelp review for Michigan Stadium ... that's crazy. Before I start this review, I'm probably extremely biased: I'm a UM grad who used to have season tickets for football. I graduated in the Big House as well. I went here this weekend for the UM-Wisconsin game with a football newbie who had never been to a game there, and he admitted that it's a pretty awesome venue. PROS: -Huge venue, so lots of bathrooms, concessions stands, etc. -Even THOUGH it's a huge venue, it weirdly feels intimate. Maybe because there's no tiers? Not sure. Regardless, I always love seeing games here. CONS: -Huge venue, so it takes a while to find an entrance (there are multiple) and then find your section. If you haven't been to a game at the Big House: do it. It's a bucket list thing.

Yelp
My daughter and son in law took Sara and I on the football stadium tour. We met up with Roger was a great guy and did a good job showing us around and answered questions we asked. The press box and areas in the tower were amazing. We then went down on the field and into the locker rooms. The Michigan locker was great. The woodwork and the designs were top notch. We visited the guest locker room and it was plain like a high school locker room. The tour was great with everything we saw, the answers we received and people we met. But...... it anonymous THE SWAMP! GO GATORS!
google avatar

Marc B.

Yelp
The Big House is huge from the outside. Before you enter, check out some of the tailgates in the parking lot (they'll be there regardless of the weather): giant TV(s), covered seats, Michigan paraphernalia, food, drinks, etc. Also, see if you can find the "Har-Bug." If you're there for a UM Football Game, prepare to see nearly 95% of the crowd in Blue and Maize (other 5% in opposing team's colors). There were 109,000 people in attendance when I went, and there were a few empty seats because of the not-so-great opposing team and because it was raining. And get there before kickoff to hear Darth Vader's (aka James Earl Jones) preamble welcoming the Wolverines to the field. Check mark off my bucket list.
google avatar

Yelp
What can be said about this massive, iconic and extremely fun stadium that hasn't been said already! I hadn't been to a game in a few years until Michigan played Penn State this year... the game was amazing and Michigan snagged one of its best wins against a ranked team in years. They actually destroyed the Nittany Lions!!! One of my favorite things about he fans at a Michigan game is the level of respect they show to opposing fans. I'm sure there are people being rude to others somewhere in there, but you really don't see it often. There's isn't a bad seat in the Big House and it's so much fun to take part in the various cheers the crowd gets into. There's a great selection of food and beverages, ranging from standard burgers and nachos, to BBQ and Greek gyros. I had such a fun time at the game that I will make sure to get to at least one game every season!!!

Yelp
Hail! to the Victors valiant I love Michigan Stadium. I am completely unbiased. The atmosphere is unlike any other in the United States of A. Hail! to the conquering heros $4.50 for a water? Y'all must be crazy. Luckily you can get free water near the trailers. Hail! Hail! To Michigan They have Pizza, Burgers, Hotdogs, mostly just American food to enjoy at your concessions. The leaders and Best ... But they have the GREATEST FOOTBALL TEAM EVER. Hail! to the Victors valiant Come here to enjoy being part of the largest crowd watching football in America (today). Hail! to the conquering heros Make sure you bring enthusiasm unknown to mankind... Hail! Hail! To Michigan And let's GO BLUE! The Champions of the west!

Yelp
It is awe inspiring here. It's The Big House and if you were not a fan of U of M coming in, you should be by the time you leave. Particularly if you watch a game when we beat Ohio State :). There are constant improvements going on at the stadium. Best in the last couple of seasons is the handicapped accessibility seating. Michigan stadium has gone above and beyond in making their disabled fans comfortable, including with parking and even golf cart shuttles. Bonus. I love to see this as my husband needs it and it's the right thing to do. I know we met a lot of grateful fans in the lot and on our way in, some of whom had not been able to attend games in the past. Food is typical stadium fare, it's definitely not the big attraction. Tailgate with friends before the game if you can. Make friends with other tailgaters and make trades. Some nice lady gave us some awesome cookies this time around, just because. Honestly the whole experience is a lot of fun. Fans are generally friendly and full of spirit. You definitely will get swept up in the magic here. So much better in person.
google avatar

Marie B.

Yelp
TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, Terrible to get a dinner served 20 minutes later than the rest of the guests and get cold food. An apology doesn't make it. They knew how many people who would be in attendance and get service like this. We ordered what we wanted when we responded. Fish, potatoes and cauliflower is terrible when it's cold. It's 9:00 and they are passing out dessert and still no dinner. When they brought our replacement dinner a smaller portion COLD again. Decaf coffee fill the cup and see the bottom of the cup. Can't they even make coffee. Big house is not a place to have a wedding
google avatar

Danica S.

Yelp
The only people who gave this less than five stars are Michigan State and Ohio State fans. I'm not a football fan, but I'm glad I got to experience The Big House at least once during my time at grad school here. I'm not a big fan of the student section needing to stand on the bleachers the entire game, but I appreciate that they offer free water in section 30!

Yelp
I mean the biggest stadium in the country?? Food keeps getting better year after year.
google avatar

Yelp
Huge stadium! Would love to go toa game one day. From the outside it looked gorgious. Could see in when passing by. That's why it is called the big house.
google avatar

Yelp
The greatest place in the world!!! I always appreciate that there are so many clean bathrooms, good food options, and kind security teams. Chicken tenders rock and the Washtenaw Dairy Donuts with maize and blue sprinkles can make even the worst football game better. Forever go blue!!

Yelp
This is the largest stadium in North America. Spent all weekend here on an all-expenses paid business trip about 2 months ago for America's largest hack-a-thon event (MHacks!) that isn't sponsored by The White House. My boss and I got to run through where team's enter in from and frolic on the grass, have a photoshoot, play frisbee and meet some of American's brightest college students all while representing our diversified media company and getting tons of free food, beverages, t-shirts and lots of other swag from the other companies that were also there (Thanks Facebook for the cheddar goldfish and gummy bears and thanks Amazon, Twiggle and Google for the free tshirts and drawstring backpacks!) We were the "keynote" sponsor and us (along with tons of other tech companies and start-ups) created an API for students to play with in order to create winform, webform and iOS applications that demonstrate their knowledge, coding/hacking skills and creativity, the catch is that they had to do it in exactly 48 hours. No more, no less. Afterwards teams (from colleges both on a domestic and international level!) could showcase their applications in a science fair-esque / convention type settings and winners all won monetary prizes and bragging rights. This is a beautiful stadium, super cool basketball arena/event space and they were very gracious hosts! * _____________________________________________________________ * This review should make one particular Michiganite very happy :-). ** ** Wuv you Ingy! :-*

Emma C.

Yelp
We are huge Michigan fans which means we always go here to see our team play! It's such an awesome place to come to and it's the biggest stadium in the country, which makes it even better!! The people here are very nice. We will definitely continue to come!
google avatar

Patrick P.

Yelp
Meh. It's a sight. But it's a big bowl with little character. And that many people just makes it difficult to get in through so few entrances. Can we also mention Michigan fans the worst? Rude, aggressive, swear-y. Our team wasn't good and we knew it. We didn't trash talk or even wear overt gear and were called everything from "bitches" to "fags."
google avatar

Jesse C.

Yelp
Amazing venue, very iconic. I'm blessed I have had the opportunity to bring my sons to an event of this magnitude. My only complaint was the seating. I was in section 13 row 2. We entered the seating area at gate 13 but ended up in section 15 row 1. No idea how. Apparently the seats start with section A , B then 1,2,3 etc. Now that i have have the seating mastered I need to visit again to redeem myself. Awesome venue and now i see why the Upers sit in the snow to be apart of something so iconic. My boys will talk about this day forever.

Yelp
Went to my first college football game here. Easy to get in and was a good experience. No alcohol sales in the building. Fun environment as you would expect.

Yelp
You gotta throw the Cottage Inn four stars for their pepperoni pie at Michigan Stadium. A virtual institution in A-squared, the "Cottage" has at least 20 outlets across SE Michigan including the concession booths at Michigan's "Big House". Unfortunately, at this Big 10 football stadium, you can't get the specialty pies that they serve in their restaurants. My favorite is the famed Spicy Mediterranean with its Feta cheese and banana peppers. Oh well, have to settle for a pretty darn good stadium-style 'roni pie today as the U of M welcomes the Maryland Terrapins on a beautiful Fall afternoon.

Yelp
Great place to watch a game. This place is crazy. Fans stand the whole time, energy level is high. Scoreboards on both ends are in high def which enables you to watch great replays of each play. Seats are very tight and I recommend the cushion for when you do sit. Parking is pricey (we paid 30) but it wasn't a bad walk to the stadium at all. Food was expensive but we got great pulled pork at the food trucks outside the concession area. Fun atmosphere!
google avatar

Moni L.

Yelp
Parking is: guess and walk, expect to pay $25-$40 in any lot along the way. No bags or purses. If u need to bring meds, put in clear ziplock & walk to far left special needs entrance. Same goes for baby bags. Cant bring food, water, only seat pad, phone, camera; see the stadium site. Bench seating is so cramped u get hit on the head & kneed from the back, sit on people hitting u on the side & ur knees are jabbed into the peeps in the front. These people r real fans to put up with crappy seating and outrageous prices. Glad i didt pay. Whatever i sacrifice once for the hubby.

Yelp
The concession stand to the right side of Section 36 is horrible. My 68 year old dad and I each grabbed a brat for a snack. The bun it was served on was probably a week or two old. When I approached the counter and asked if WE could each get another bun because the one I had was as hard as a rock the 3 people working looked at each other and didn't say a word. It was a solid 30 seconds of silence where we all stared at each other and nobody budged. The next customer came up and they just went to work undoubtedly serving more brats on old buns. Never addressed my concern. I've learned to just live with service like this, but I expect more for the amount of money it costs to attend a Michigan game. It didn't ruin my day, but I just had to say something.

Yelp
Attended my first UMich game last week, and couldn't have had a better time in the stadium. The food was delicious, priced reasonably, and an amazing environment.

Yelp
Let me tell you a story. So there was this sexy Ann Arbor girl who dated Mitch, and then she moved to Columbus and betrayed her Football heritage, by dating Brad. She got sick of Brad, and decided to return to her ex-boyfriend. In other words, she went back to Mitch Again. Ba dum tsh. I'm here all week. First-Hand Experience: Info on my personal visit to this stadium - I love Michigan stadium but I have to admit the fans weren't as loud as the OSU guys and as they were supposed to be. Also OSU stadium looks more impressive, grander, bigger and more modernererererer. I've now been here on 5 occasions, most recently in 2012. I've seen it full and empty, and while it's a hulk of a stadium, it could definitely use a little renovation. Now that I've been to every NFL stadium (current and former) and seen all 32 teams play live in the flesh, time to review them on Yelp! I love stadia! I've been to every cool sports arena in the UK & North America, it's an obsession I have with travel & sport. I've roamed America as a musician for years. In that time, I've seen sports games at (or toured when empty, or both) almost every major stadium in US/Canada. Many pictures taken which I'll upload eventually. On future travels, I'll new pix, and add more stadiums! Watch this space! ***back to regular review*** It's a fantastic and huge stadium, the reason that it gets a 4 is that its main rival is OSU, and OSU (sorry) has a better stadium. It's just better looking, more impressive, more thrilling to visit. This is still a super-amazing stadium though and for that reason it gets a very solid 4/5. I heard the Russians were using British Spitfires for awhile, but now they have gone back to using Migs Again. HA. HA. HA. And that girl I dated from MI? Well she was a total b**ch before I met her. Then she was super nice while she was with me. As soon as we broke up, she went back to being a total B**ch Again. WOOOOO. I thought Massachusetts was over the whole, burning at the stake crap. But apparently Salem is claiming it has a Witch Again. I started shopping at American Apparel. Now I'm back to Abercrombie & Fitch Again. I don't have any loyalty to the Vietnamese Mafia. But at the same time, I don't think I'll ever Snitch Again. I thought I got rid of my little nervous tic. But no. I just had another Twitch Again. I lost my millions betting on Big Blue (DAMN YOU TOM BRADY YOU BACK UP), but then I bet on him marrying a Brazilian Supermodel and winning 4 Super Bowls, so at the end of this season hopefully I'll be Rich Again. Oh man. I need to reload my screen. It's displaying that stupid Glitch Again.

Yelp
Firstly-- I'm not a Michigan alum and/or student and/or fan, so I don't bow down to everything that's maize and blue. However, I've spent my whole life in Michigan and always heard about "The Big House" and how awesome it is. So, when I got offered free tickets this year to go with a friend of mine, I said sure, thinking I'd at least have the chance to see firsthand the stadium that everyone raves about. I was actually pretty excited, though as previously stated, I'm not a diehard Michigan fan. Then I got there. Ummm... it's big. Yep, I'll give ya that. But it's also.. really weird. The stadium is pretty much a gigantic hole in the ground -- you walk up a decent sized hill to get in, and suddenly ... you're at the top of the stands. Is this not weird to anyone else? Also, given it's hugeness, it's not very loud. Aside from the student section, almost all the fans are WASPy old alumni who watch their beloved Wolverines in silence, with the occasional fist pump that goes along with the fight song. I guess if you went to school here, you'd have the emotional connection, but as an outsider.. I don't see what the big deal is, other than the number of seats?

Yelp
Where can you watch football with 114,000 other people in one location? In THE BIG HOUSE, of course. After almost 10 years since my last game, I had the chance to go to the Michigan v. Eastern Michigan game this season. The stadium itself is awesome - new press and corporate boxes, lights for night games - not to mention the tradition, the players, intense energy, fanatical alums, even more fanatical students, and the amazing Michigan Marching Band are awesome things to see. For the first timer, here are some helpful tips: - If you park at the hourly garage at State and William, the walk is 15 to 20 minutes and much cheaper than paying $20 to park in someone's lawn. Sure, it's farther to the stadium, but getting home after the game takes forever, so you might as well grab some grub before you leave. I parked there from 10:30 AM to 11:30 PM and paid less than $15. Awesome. - Read the fine print on the back of your ticket. It seems that they change the rules to get into the stadium every year. For example, this year, you cannot bring any bags into the stadium (except for medical reasons or a diaper bag). Lots of ladies were being turned away at the gate because they brought their purse to the game. Luckily I had a coat on, so I shoved my purse into my coat and pretended to have a beer belly. - No cameras with detachable lenses allowed. Bring your point and shoot camera instead. - Wear layers. When I got to the game it felt like 40 degrees, and by the time the game ended it felt like 80. Also, bring a raincoat or poncho if there is a threat of rain - no umbrellas allowed! - Before the game, use the bathroom next to the first aid station. At the end of the game, use the ones under the overhang. - If you are not between the ages of 16-50, sit as far away from the student section as possible, especially for big games like Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Michigan State. Trust.

Yelp
I have many happy memories of warm, sunny autumn days spent at UofM stadium watching our local team play football. Seeing the marching band play on the field and march out of the stadium was a treat. Tailgating in the parking area was a fun way to catch up with friends. That enjoyment ended when the remodel made the stadium not only bigger, but intentionally louder. Let this be a warning to you. If you have sensory issues for any reason, or even just "sensitive hearing," think long and hard before going to a game there. I came prepared, but even ear plugs + shooting earmuffs were not enough for me. I had to leave before the first quarter was over, never to go back on game day. If you are an ablelist who laughs at the legitimate medical conditions of others, go ahead and click the "funny" button. That'll make this review more popular so that you can annoy other ablists like yourself. Hail to the victors who gleefully crush the weaklings under their heels. http://www.stopableism.org/p/what-is-ableism.html
