10 Best Irish Pubs in Miami | Eater Miami

"You’ll find a traditional experience at Mickey Burkes, with many Europeans visiting South Beach stopping by for a pint or to watch a soccer match. Mickey Burkes may look like any beach bar on the outside, but inside you’ll find an impressive wooden bar that calls to mind a soulful pub in Galway or Limerick." - Laine Doss

Raise a Toast to Bartenders With Tequila Cocktails at These South Florida Bars | Eater

"This homey locals’ bar on Washington Ave. is named after a beloved Miami hospitality legend, who helmed pretty much every iconic bar in the Beach. His spirit of laid-back fun and no pretension extends to his namesake bar, where everyone from South Beach barflies to visiting tourists are invited to snag a seat and order straight pours of Teremana Reposado. Mickey Burkes is also a go-to spot for catching international soccer games, too. The bar shows many of the games and serves up a diverse menu of food ranging from UK classics like fish and chips and short rib cottage pie to a bonchon chicken sandwich." - Matthew Meltzer

Came for music bingo Wednesday! We had a blast! Such a welcoming host and crowd and the music was so nostalgic. Great food and drink specials too! Will be back next week for trivia Tuesday.

Google
Fun place to get food and drinks. But don’t forget about the bingo night, on Wednesdays. Thank you Rachel the games were really fun. The food was great and the service was wonderful!

Google
Johann & Natasha were welcoming and checked on us quickly. The drinks came out great (taste and presentation). I would highly recommend this spot if you choose to visit Miami

Google
Mickey Burkes is one of the best spots on South Beach if you are looking for a proper pub. Johann and Natasha who were super friendly, great recommendations and treated you like family - not just a customer, amazing service. They do live music which is so refreshing to find on South Beach. 5 stars, will definitely be back!!

Google
OUTSTANDING!!!! We had a group from Indiana come down to Miami Beach for a conference. A few of us stumbled onto Mickey Burkes on Sunday. We fell in love with the place right away. Julia waited on us and was so friendly and inviting. We loved their burgers and got to speak to the chef, David. He too was very friendly and made us feel like we were long lost friends. The Indiana group ended up making a reservation for a large group of us on Wednesday. That's when we met Maddie, another one that waited on us. She was just friendly as Julia. We also got to meet who I believed to be the manager (Alex-I think). He was working side by side with the other employees and jumped right in. It sounded like they all are relatively new employees there, and it was like a family atmosphere. We felt it, loved the company, loved the food and would recommend it to anyone!!!!

Google
Review for Mickey Burke’s “Place For All” – South Beach, Miami Mickey Burke’s is hands down one of the best spots in South Beach, and if you’re looking for the biggest, juiciest, and greatest burger in town, this is the place to be. And trust me, that’s not something I say lightly—I’ve experienced all the burgers in South Beach since 2009. The magician behind this masterpiece? George. A truly great chef who knows exactly how to craft the perfect burger—every bite packed with flavor, cooked to perfection, and simply unbeatable. It’s the kind of burger that keeps you coming back, no question. But the experience at Mickey Burke’s goes beyond the food. Maddie, the most amazing bartender and host, takes hospitality to another level. She’s not just polite, she’s got that effortless Miami vibe, making every guest feel welcome. She’s versatile in conversation, kind, and exactly the kind of human being you’d love to meet. Great food, great people, and a vibe that’s second to none—Mickey Burke’s is a must-visit in South Beach!

Google
This restaurant was super packed. My server brought me my burger and then disappeared. I had to literally walk over to her so that I could get some ketchup for my burger and fries because she forgot to bring it to me. My two stars are based off my server's lack of service. I also took the giant onion ring off my burger and realized I liked the burger better without the onion ring. I should have just ordered another kind of burger, that's all. So I won't knock a star off due to my decision. The burger was better to me without the onion ring. There was another server who checked on me at least three times to ask me if everything was okay and if I needed anything else. Kudos to her. I wish I had gotten her name. I didn't need anything else once I had my ketchup. There were 📺 📺 around with different sports games playing. I could have skipped this restaurant. 😩

Google
Lovely Irish-American bar with pub grub that's worth the trip to Miami alone! Barman Johann was a great chat and recommended us the Short Rib Poutine which blew our mind! Seriously, you've gotta try it!

Yelp
Was in town for work, wanted to find a cool sports bar to watch my team (Football). Was lucky enough to locate Mickey Burkes. The waitresses to the female bartenders are not hard to look at :) and the service is good, tv's are everywhere! The food was excellent, wings and the fried pickles are bomb! I met the owner Mike, it's a family owned business and can't say enough nice things about Mike and this place. My Go To spot when back in South Beach!!

Yelp
Ok hear me out. I know you're in Miami and probably want a restaurant or bar that has Miami vibes. I get that, but after so many Miami vibe places sometimes you need a palette cleanse to do it again the next day. This is your place! It's quaint and comfy. Love the moody and intimate vibes this place gives. Brian at the bar is the best! He made sure I was satisfied with my food and drinks. Went out of his way to make sure I enjoyed every part of my visit. I came in looking for a classic burger and fries combo and they didn't disappoint! Give this place a shot, it's the break you need from Miami vibes so you can do it all again the next day.

Yelp
Hello Mickey. Don't upcharge for Woodford or Bulleit. This is Mickey Mouse! It's crazy to charge $24 for Manhattan or old fashioned with these common liquor brands. You guys don't even smoke your old fashioned. Not even Swizzle or Sylvester is charging $24 for such cocktails and they make better drinks. I like coming here because it's chill and reasonable but not this visit. I've been here many times and this is probably the last. The bartenders need to disclose if there's an upcharge and not take advantage of local Miami residents. I've ordered Manhattans and old fashioned here before and it's normally around $16 or 17. So whatever you're doing right now, it's not right.

Yelp
Happy Hour is Firee 2 for 1 drinks, I highly recommend the sliders and the cheese balls.

Yelp

Yelp
A perfect sports bar. TVs in close view for every seat. Amazing bar food (though I wish the selections were more) and amazing service. The bar is in an very convenient location in South Beach. It's such a clean bar. Perfect.

Yelp
Came here for Hamburger Humpday on Wednesdays. $15 for a Burger of your choice and beer. They also got Whiskey Wednesday deals the same day. Check them also out for other deals during the week :-)

Melody A.

Yelp
Service was great. There was only 1 server at the time. She did great. It was more of a bar feel pub style. Definitely over priced. Burger was not worth $22 at all. We are also not used to added gratuity (there was only 3 of us) She would've actually gotten more without doing that.

Yelp
This was the perfect sports bar to watch the superbowl at! My company and I were in Miami for a work event and one of our clients had reserved a couple of areas at this bar. The food was really good and we had enough room to be comfortable and not cramped against other people. Our waitress was super nice and helpful and overall we had a great time!

Yelp
Happy hour 2 for 1. I'm in! The staff here is always on point. From the security at the front door, hostess, and waitress... they make it a priority to provide excellent service. I order the fish and chips every time because it's huge and tasty.
google avatar

Kelsey P.

Yelp
Fish and chips fit for royalty; also a dish you're for sure going to want to share. High quality and delicious. Our bartender was lovely, very kind and attentive. This is a great place to watch a sports game or just hang out with friends. Big fan.

Yelp
The Food was excellent and a very large portion size.....especially the fish! The service was attentive and the place was full watching a soccer game. Fun environment!!!

Yelp
Was staying on Ocean for a few days to enjoy the beach and the local vibe. We were looking for a place to enjoy drinks while we watch the game. We were seated at a 2 top near the 13th street exit on stools without backs. Ordered a manhattan and a signature cocktail. We waited about 15 minutes for our drinks. They weren't anything outstanding for the price. So we finished our drinks and decided to try somewhere else. When we asked our server for the check she replied "are you going to bed"? Granted I'm a senior citizen but that convinced me we needed to leave. The bill automatically includes a 20% tip so we spent $40 on two ordinary drinks, uncomfortable seating with a side of insult. BTW we found a place and managed to hang comfortably and affordably until about 1am while we enjoyed the company of other patrons.

Randella M.

Yelp
Great space - lighting, bar stools, lots of character, great waitress but the BARTENDER IS AN EPIC FAIL -- He should really take a course. Completely botched an old fashion - watered it down with a glass full of ice, holding his head around the glass because he's an idiot and doesn't realize he melting the ice. No twist, no wild cherry, no smoke. Total idiot. Maybe start him out waiting tables. Should just have ordered a whiskey with a side of water but he'd probably mess that up too. If you see him at the bar, find the short women with long curly hair to make your drinks. I watched the women make/serve drinks - she knows her craft

Yelp
One of my favorite bars to chill and relax after a day on the beach. Conveniently located just a block away from the ocean on 13th and Washington, this bar offers comfortable sitting, cool a/c, cold beers, and tasty cocktails. I was there twice this weekend after two SOBEWFF events and the service was always great. The Smoke Show mezcal drink is my favorite with a nice balance of sweet and smokiness. The Irish Ale is really delicious too and I usually get both of those drinks. I always like recommending this place and the people that go are always happy with this recommendation.

Yelp
Mickey Burkers just opened recently in South Beach but it feels like it has been there forever. It's a small chain but you definitely can't tell inside. Weather you're a local or a visitor, you are welcomed with hospitality. Inside is a pretty efficient layout. You have the bar stretching the length of the establishment with seating in front with a few different zones attached. Near the entrance you'll see cozy couches and a photo op for Social Media. The rest of the bar is mainly high tops. The bar has just about anything you could want. Draft beer, bottle beer, local craft, wine, alcohol and some house drinks. The house drinks are nicely crafted and infused well. The Lafies First is definitely recommended if you like lavender. It has some gin and prosecco. The highly recommended drink for me is the Down the Corner. Banana infused Angel's Envy. It's garnished with a banana slice. This drink has a lot of depth to it but easy to drink, a must try. There's a good amount of food. Didn't get to try out much, the drinks were the focus. Will definitely come back and try more!

Yelp
For months I have been craving a chicken sandwich.... But a GOOD chicken sandwich not just eeeehhhh. I was hungry looking for something to eat late night. The live band caught my attention and I was promised a good meal at the door. THEY DEFINITELY DELIVERED! I devoured the chicken sandwich! The combination of the coleslaw, pickles, and the sauce I was not ashamed of the way I was making sure I ate every bit of the coleslaw (I will never see those folks again in life ) oh and the fries and chicken were definitely fresh! Hands done one of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had! Also had the espresso martinis... probably shouldn't have had two because I was up all night but hey ‍

Yelp
Absolutely loved this bar. Drink selections were so many. They had a lot of beers on tap as well. We stopped in for the Lakers versus nuggets game. It was a great environment to watch a game despite being on the East Coast ended up trying the loaded fries which were amazing. Food there was outstanding, service was great. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend this bar.

Yelp
We hosted a networking event and the back of the place worked out great. The service was wonderful. The drinks are very creative and there's a lot of detail that goes into the food. The poutine and the fried cauliflower were amazing. The truffle mac and cheese was average. It was hard to taste the truffle oil. I washed it down with a couple passion fruit margaritas with the chili lime salt. It's been recently remodeled and has a fun vibe when the live band gets playing around 10:00!

Yelp
Susana was excellent. Very friendly & attentive & made some great recommendations. Would highly recommend this restaurant for good bar fare.

Yelp
Located were the old Playwright Irish bar used to be. I went to watch an NFL game on a Sunday. Good ambiance, and really good food. The staff is friendly and attentive.
google avatar

Veronica P.

Yelp
Irish pub with live music! I visited this place on a thursday night and the music was such a great addition to the night! I will say it is very loud, making it difficult to have a full conversation. This place is more to listen to the music and enjoy a drink. They have some very nice craft cocktails on the menu, and food as well! The buffalo cauliflower was a real treat!
google avatar

Yelp
Was in town visiting with friends before our cruise. Big sports bar that has TVs everywhere for all the games. Service was incredible and our servers Rico and BNice couldn't be more friendly. Lots of beer on tap and lots of fun memories were made :)
google avatar

Yelp
Located in the hallowed halls of the location that stood the test of time as Playwrights Irish Pub is now Mickey Burke's. Simple and unassuming from the exterior but once you open one of those lovely tinted doors and walk through the threshold you are greeted by a friendly staff and inviting ambiance! It's half the size (if you're familiar with Playwrights) and lacks a pool table but what it's "missing" from memories it more than makes up for with craft cocktails, gorgeous decor, comfortable varied seating options, and clean bathrooms (iykyk). We stopped by after Sunday at SOBEWFF to let traffic die down and were pleasantly surprised by MB's! As we walked in, we paused to take in all the changes and we were promptly greeted by a smiling delight who whisked us further in and towards table options. Since we had our fill of bites we all decided to forgo food but couldn't pass up the opportunity to munch on some fried pickles, Super Bien, so good in fact that we ordered 2 rounds! I would definitely love to check MB's out again. If you're in the area it's worth a visit for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the place to go for soccer fans. The food and service were excellent if you're looking for a bunch of different sports to watch this might not be the place but if you're into soccer you will feel at home here. Most people wear they're favorite teams uniform. It's a friendly crowd and the food and drink were reasonably priced.
google avatar

Anthony S.

Yelp
What an amazing treat. This is a new place that just opened up where the Playwright was, but way better. I had a great time. Lively atmosphere, super friendly staff - and I think they were having as much fun as we were! The mgr stopped by to say hello and bought me a shot as a welcome. The music was great -- the songs that everyone (regardless of age) all knows the words to and sings along. Live band, very nice, super pretty waitresses. Try the Bistro Burger, piled high. I was there for St Pat's and for sure I will be back. (Rumor has it there is Powers Irish Whiskey on the way.)
google avatar

Yelp
The drinks and food were good. I got the dirty martini and the fried fish yum yum yum.. was a little pricey though

Yelp
The service, food and comfortable seating make this place great! Awesome music and drinks. I'm a local and it's my go to spot for happy hour.

Yelp
I've been twice, staff is fast, friendly and attentive, excellent, thanks Santi ! I've had the Bonchon Cauliflower Bites, awesome, and the Braised Short-Rib Poutine, also wow, recommend both! Happy Hour 4-7pm. Enjoy.

Yelp
I don't usually leave reviews, but the way I was handled when the bartender botched the cocktail I ordered has left me feeling very unsatisfied.  When I told him that it wasn't what I had ordered, he acted rudely, almost threw the second drink at me, and demanded payment.  However, when I told the bartender that I didn't want to drink this "non-alcoholic" beverage with ice, he even warned me that I was not welcomed here and to go home. If you don't want to encounter someone who has a RACIST attitude toward you, especially if you're a black man like myself, avoid this place.
google avatar

Yelp
The fish and chips are my favorite from the food items they've offer. I sub my chips for salad. The wings I didn't care for they were a bit hard and a bit over seasoned.

Yelp
Wow! What a great late night spot. Went here after a late flight into town. Atmosphere was great. Watched the few minutes of the game and ordered wings, hummus and a couple of burgers...DAMN!! what a meal. Portions were more than enough for 2. Presentations were spot on for a upscale bar with great food... go here if u need a late eats spot...u wont be dissapointed.

Yelp
Typical sports dive bar with TVs all over the place. Service is ok, specially if seating at the bar. Good selection on draft. Food is greasy. Noisy and loud as can be expected with people cheering their favorite teams.
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
Great drinks, great service, nice ambiance. What else is needed? It is a sports bar with finesse. Plenty of room to sit at the bar but there are also tables and high tables. I believe it accommodates different crowds with different tastes. It is certainly lady approved haha.

Yelp
My son and I visited Miami Beach South for a long NFL weekend. We stumbled across Mickey Burkes bar and instantly fell in love with the bar, staff and atmosphere. We were welcomed into the bar by all of the staff who attended to our every need. We asked to book a table for the next night and our table was waiting. This place just felt like home and the staff like friends. I have never been to a more welcoming bar and only wish we had one like this where I live. Everything about this place is 5 star.

Yelp
We stopped by during the day to see it and met Mickey who is so friendly and inviting . Place is beautiful and clean. We came back to watch the games and have a drink around 9:30, sat at the bar for 20 minutes, not one of the bartenders acknowledged us, spoke to us, like we are not there The place was not that busy Makes me sad, we are locals and thought we found a great place to watch games
