Mic's Bar - Review - West Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"After operating without an official name for a month, the former Fubar space has relaunched as Mic's, the latest Weho bar from the people behind Schmitty's. Inside, the dark, clubby look of Fubar has been replaced with brighter lighting, a somewhat generic “neighborhood bar and grill” ambiance, and daily happy hour specials. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Cathy Park

Ok so I’ve been a couple times and you can’t go wrong with Cody and Kyle. What an amazing duo! Also how much fun to come into a place and have everyone treat you like you’re home. Great happy hour specials (longer than most in weho). Very inclusive! Everyone has a smile - i wanted to hate on it because of FuBar but it’s way better. Low key want the demented sponge bob (don’t google that it’s not the results you want, or maybe it is?).

My favorite new local drinking spot - hands down. Great bartenders (shoutout to Cody and Annie) super chill vibes and many regulars from the neighborhood. If you lived here or just visiting you’ll have a great time and meet someone cool. They got all the NHL, NBA and MLB games and definitely spin the wheel and hope you get malort. You can bring your dogs and any food you like too.

Looks like a bar has replaced the old Fubar in West Hollywood! Cool modern industrial chic space with good drinks. The vibes are good here and is a good place to grab a drink before the night begins. They show a lot of various shows on their screens from sports, cartoon and Love Island. It’s a pretty small space so not ideal for a big group but a date night or small group of 3 or 4 would be best!

I love this place. It’s so fun and down to earth and the music is great. The owner is always really friendly and accommodating. I would consider it a gay bar. But one that doesn’t try too hard and welcomes everybody.

My new favorite spot in the neighborhood! Great vibe & music, bartenders are all very friendly. Love their “roll-of-the-dice drink chooser” for the adventurous nights. Service can be slow when they’re busy, (but what bar doesn’t have that problem)! Their outdoor patio in the back has two tables for smokers. Overall, love the elevated dive-vibe and they actually have decent beer on tap!

This is not a queer bar or designed to serve queer folks. The ambience is clearly crafted for straight folks - NO QUEER staff, hidden rainbow flag and music only changes to something more pleasant when they see a higher number of queer patrons.

Super-cool, low-key local divey-style bar. No food(plenty next door at Irv's)--atmosphere depends on the day/time.

So happy with this spot. It’s great to have a new local bar! Cody is great. Have him make you a margarita!

Yelp
Mic's feels like the kind of bar you stumble into and immediately know you will be back. The retro decor is dialed in perfectly, with vintage beer signs and drinking memorabilia that give it a lived-in soul instead of a curated and thoughtful vibe. I came in for a nightcap, but the staff made it feel like more than that, taking the time to talk about the restoration process and the stories behind the place. S/o Cody - poured with care, just the kind of drink you actually want at the end of the night. It's easy to feel the love and energy for this neighborhood and the craft woven into every corner of the space. There is a warmth here that does not need to be advertised, it is just there, waiting for you to notice it. The vibe is chill, the kind of place where you can actually exhale. It already feels like a neighborhood staple, a place you can claim as your new watering hole. Mic's is not just charming, it is the kind of bar that makes you feel grateful it exists.

Yelp
It's nice to find an alternative to Laurel Hardware (and the Hudson - RIP), in the same neck of woods. Beverages: 4/5. Solid! Manhattan for $11? I'm here for it. Good price point for the quality. I've overpaid for plenty of cocktails in this area, so it's great to see an establishment not following the same pattern. Service: 4/5. Took a minute to order a few drinks, but it's all good. Enjoyed a pleasant and real conversation with the bartender, which can sometimes be in short supply in this area. Thanks to bro behind the bar (sorry I forgot your name dawg). Vibe/Ambiance: 5/5. Dope layout and job well done. Much nicer than the old dungeon of yesteryear that occupied this space. Nice touch on the furniture, coffee table books, and Lotería Remedios. Almost felt like a kickback, or when Laurel Hardware first opened. Timing probably played a factor as it was early evening and during the work week, so we didn't get caught up in the weekend static. I'll definitely hit up Mic's again.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place and what a great addition to the neighborhood. Went during the day because who doesn't need a little day drinking right now? The vibe was so chill. Bartender was cool and the owner is a sweetheart. You can really pick up on his love for this neighborhood and the industry. The ambience is country rustic with a bit of a modern twist. Tons of seating inside and out. I know Jay has some big plans for this place as far as theme nights and I can't wait to see how it unfolds.

Yelp
Best neighborhood bar within miles!! CB and the crew always make everyone feel like they are welcomed family. Completely mixed crowd with no pretense.

Yelp
Did you ever NOT want to love a place? And then did?! I came in with a preconceived notion of my former FuBar. Cody and Kyle are a dynamic duo! Friendly and fun! What a great atmosphere! I'm happy to live on the same block! Happy hour prices are amazing and it's a chill vibe. My suggestion is keep coming in! A diverse group of people. All around a win!

Yelp
Best new bar in the area. Great staff and the prices allow you to have a good time without going broke. They gladly take cash And maybe the best of all, no mixology b*llsh*t.

James E.

Yelp
$18 margarita. They don't have a drink menu which is fine but if that's the case don't charge $18 for a margarita.

Yelp
It gives me east side vibes! I lived on the east side for 3 years and being new to weho, I love that theres something comparable. I'm not really into the WeHo scene. This is a cute place for sure, I've been suggesting it to all my friends. It's at the end of my street so I'm looking forward to going more often!

Brittany S.

Yelp
This place is GREAT! Went on a very chill, low-key Monday night for a friends catch up and was so pleased by the vibe and happy hour menu. It doesn't feel too big, but also doesn't feel too small. It was a light crowd, which I love, but they had something for everyone going on the televisions. The staff seemed very welcoming and nice, which can be tough to find in LA sometimes! Will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Very friendly staff and fun atmosphere. I loved the drinks and the music was energetic. I would highly recommend this bar to my friends.

Yelp
We finally have a great neighbor bar again!! CB runs a rockin' joint! Great vibe. Can't wait to go back. Every week!!
