Pre pandemic I came here a lot when I lived in Mt. Rainier. I stopped by today while in the neighborhood and got lunch and dinner for later. I spent around $40 I ate lunch there and as I was leaving asked for a bag. In which they asked me for $.11… after I just spent about $40 in your establishment and you charged me $.10 for bag tax???? Do better. The food is great, large portions and flavorful but sometimes we have to do better. If you charge me the tax, give me the bag!

This is a favorite Friday spot. The portions are so large we have leftovers for Saturday. Great food! I usually have the baked chicken , sweet potatoes and collards. Never any issues, their chicken livers, and pork chops (smothered in gravy) is also excellent. Staff are pleasant and the restaurant is clean.

If I could marry the chef, I would just so he could cook for me. The food is absolutely delicious and the portion size is unbelievable. I LOVE it because I get enough to last a few days. I also love the atmosphere. I have come here at different times and I always enjoy the environment so much that I dine in more often than not. It's clean, the tables are adequately spaced, and the staff is nice. Lots of parking. This is one of my favorite go to restaurants. As an empty nester, I don't feel obligated to cook and I know it will last a few days which is extremely important to me especially if I know for a fact that I am going to have a busy day/week and may not have time to cook at home. So I love that I can eat here and feel safe about what is being put in the food (veggies in rice taste fresh). And, I actually chaIlenge myself to try different menu items. Today, I purchased the fried pork chops (2), Mac & cheese and fried rice $17. No, I did not get veggies because I eat them just about every day. Sometimes, I like to treat myself and I am NEVER disappointed when I come here. THANK YOU Mid-Atlantic! This place has food to suit any palate from salads, fish, chicken, turkey wings and more. Fried chicken and fish is cooked when ordered. It is fresh and delicious. Would like the side dishes to be more seasoned.

I ordered online. The food was really good, no complaints , chicken was seasoned well, broccoli was flavored well, yams was good. 👍

If you are ever in Hyattsville MD stop Mid Atlantic Seafood!!!! You will not be disappointed!!! Food was delicious!! Service was great!!!! And the atmosphere was awesome!!! If you are looking for a quiet Michelin star restaurant, do not go here. If you are looking for great seafood and soul food at a reasonable price with a family atmosphere this is your place. It was my family's first experience, and we weren't disappointed, the food was so delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Totally remodeled and looks great. Ample parking directly in front. Great atmosphere. Awesome cooked food selections . Very pleasant staff. Nice bar area with big screen flats. Has a birthday celebration 🎂 🎈 🎉

My husband and I had lunch here and it deserves the five stars I posted. The atmosphere is great, the food and service. This place is clean with plenty of televisions to watch on various channels. I definitely will be back. Rhonda P.

Good quick service.. Wasn't too busy for a Sunday afternoon. i ordered the stuffed shrimp with white rice and candied yams. Took about 10/15 mins to come out and everything was fresh and hot... Good service and big portions... Plenty of seating available, tvs to watch the game and full bar, plenty of parking outside as well.. Good spot for a good menu..

I didn't actually eat here. I had finished running errands by 11AM on a sunday and was looking for a restaurant to eat at in the morning I didn't order anything here, just took a ton of photos for YELP! lol More of a you order and they package in to go trays. There is a Bar here with happy hour every day Tables are there for eating/seating Clean! Spacious. You can see all of the food, that sits behind sort of a buffet glassed line Plenty of free parking. Right next to dunkin donuts One day I will go back to try out the food!

The turkey blt sandwich was good. You can ask for hot peppers. The fries are your typical fries. The smoothies are also good. We typically get whatever smoothie is on sale and it's a large size.

Just got home and my Sweet Potato Fries are MISSING!!! I heard the Cashier tell the new young lady that I had also sweet potato fries. The lady looked into the container where my order #606 Fish Sandwich was. I assumed she was making sure the fries were there, so I did not check. Big mistake!!!!!!!!!! Nice Customer Service. I love that they have curbside when you want something quick. Like on my lunch break. Check them out good fish, turkey wings the yams are to die for.

Lots to choose from. Everything was good. We had stuffed fish. Would go back but I don't live there.

I regret not coming here sooner! I've driven past this restaurant many times but never thought to stop by, but I'm glad I finally did! There are so many good seafood and non-seafood options to choose from, and many of the meals come as lunch or dinner platters. There's also a small bar in the corner of the restaurant, and they were even selling ready-made packaged alcoholic drinks like Long Island iced tea, margaritas, and other cocktails. The food is already prepared and stationed in front of the restaurant. It's covered and only accessible to the workers behind the stand, so a patron can't access the food themselves like at a buffet. I got the crab-stuffed salmon with two sides: lo mein and seasoned potatoes. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection! The portion sizes were pretty large, so you'll probably want to share a platter or you will have leftovers. I also tried their homemade cornbread, which was also very good. The staff were friendly, there's ample parking, and the food came out soon enough. If you've ever driven past the shopping center where this restaurant is located in and you were hesitant on visiting this restaurant, definitely consider going. You won't regret it!

Cool happy Hr spot ! Fried fish is good and I love the Bang Bang Shrimp . But you have to tell them put the Bang Bang Sauce on the side ! Drinks are good . Bartenders are friendly .

This is the best I can do considering the circumstances. We attended a gymnastics competition in Landover, we're from outta town. We were recommended this particular restaurant because the served chitterlings and my wife and daughter wanted to try em. To put it bluntly, the food was horrible. I ordered seafood, expecting it to be fried like fried seafood is cooked. My plate was nasty, the batter wasn't it was breadcrumbs. My wife and daughter ordered soul food with no soul at all. Combined we ordered, attempted to eat and eventually threw away over $200 worth of food.

Portions are always enough for at least 2 to 3 people to share. The food is always consistent and fresh whenever I've visited. Also, really nice that they've now install the bar, which I haven't had a chance to visit yet, but it is always packed with people who seem to be having a good time.

Amazing seafood and pig's feet! The pigs feet were so good and tender. Very highly recommend.

It's a popular fish place and locals are loyal to it. I've been a customer at this location since it opened in 2014. The variety of fish and seafood offered is considerable. Management has done a good job in the time of Corona by gently encouraging patrons to respect social distancing and limiting the number of persons in the establishment at one time. I appreciate that. I think of it mostly as a to-go spot, but there's table seating and large bar inside. Televisions seem to be everywhere. Over time, it has added many non-fish dishes. Generally, I have a good experience when I'm here. This spot has had its share of ups and downs however it's got staying power. My favorite continues to be the catfish dinner. The crab cake preparation and shrimp dishes are reliable. Sometimes the fried foods are too oily for me. Always check out the portable blackboards; daily specials are listed on them.

sunday night manager is the best today i had hugh problem left the most important thing off delivery and he saved me!! the customer service and the food is the best Thank you so much lead by example and thats what the Sunday evening crew does

Came in again after the manager helped me out with my last situation which I highly appreciate. He was very professional and kind with my problem. This time we got the three crab stuffed shrimp and two pies. Got one vanilla salted caramel crunch cheesecake and a sweet potato pie, both absolutely delicious. The crab stuffed shrimp were huge and crunchy definitely would get again. Glad I came back to give it a second try !

Very good food. A bit chaotic going inside the first time and the set up is strange, but food is bomb!

Such a great place for seafood if you ever find yourself near the area... We actually went back for lunch THE NEXT DAY because it was so good!! We got the fried catfish, fried tilapia with 4 sides (2 with each order) the first day and then soft-shelled crabs with 2 sides and shrimp/scallop stir-fried rice, cream of crabs soup, carrot cake the following day. All the food were really good, fresh and quite cheap!! Below is the breakdown by favorites in my opinion: - Seafood: Fried tilapia and soft-shelled crabs are better than fried catfish. There's definitely more fish taste and texture than the catfish. - Sides: best ones were the teriyaki string beans with mushroom (got this twice in a row ) and the stir-fried tofu. We also ordered the cheesy broccoli, eggplant, french fries. They have a bar of all the sides available so I recommend to check out all the options first! - Others: the shrimp and scallop fried rice was SO GOOD! I only ordered half portion and I was stuffed! Good quality shrimps and scallops and the fried rice was very nice. The carrot cake was so so but for $6 I don't think it was worth it. Overall, strong recommend this place. In addition to the main menu which is super long already, there are daily specials and soup options when you are in the restaurant so be prepared to be overwhelmed :) I suggest to have couple of things you want to try in mind before getting to the restaurant in case if you feel stressful about what to order.

No. Absolutely not. Don't waste your money. Don't waste your gas. "Beware of the 5-star reviews." I am overly generous at times with my reviews. This is no exception. The two stars are for the catfish...it was decent. I guess they used all the seasoning that they had on the fish. The sides...all of the sides and the popcorn shrimp were huge disappointments. The collard greens had no flavor, were cut too wide, and were dryer than paper towels. I took one bite and threw the rest in the garbage can. The hush puppies didn't have any flavor either. Could not detect not one speck of seasoning. Not one. I paid extra for cornbread instead of dinner rolls on a carry out order. Of course, I got the exact opposite. My mistake for not checking until it was too late. We had 5 different sides between us. No seasoning. No seasoning. No seasoning!!! The popcorn shrimp was NOT deveined and was also FLAVORLESS. We got no cocktail sauce for the popcorn shrimp, no ketchup for the fries, no hot sauce for the catfish. No napkins!!!! No utensils!! It was a carry out order for goodness sake!!! The chocolate cake cut like meat. I hate to complain or to be negative, but I drove 35 minutes out of my way because I was craving soul food. This place has such good ratings, I figured it must be good. No. No it wasn't.

I usually come and get the salmon cakes, but this time I decided to get a seafood plate. I got the 3 shrimp, 3 oysters, 3 scallops, & 2 crab sticks for $13.99 with two sides which is not bad. All of the fish was seasoned to perfection and delicious. The crab sticks were huge and were not imitation. I don't think I've ever been to a dish spot with crab sticks that big, so I will definately come back. I got a side of cheesy potatoes which were so delicious and cheesy lol and the broccoli was very fresh and the perfect amount of crunch and softness. I got there around happy hour. There is a bar that if you dine in, can get alcohol and good plates for a good price. Another thing I love about Mid Atlantic is the menu variety. It always takes me forever to order because the menu is so overwhelming. You have the main menu on the wall behind the register, then a bunch of little menus throughout the store of different items that are not on the menu on the wall. The small menus throughout the restaurant have some interesting food items on there. Making it so tempting to try!! They also have smoothies, seafood quesadillas. Literally everything you name it!!! This is definitely my favorite fish spot in PG county and I will be coming back more often!!

I'm actually surprised/disappointed that it took me so long to write a review for this spot. It's the first location that I visited since it was close to an apartment I lived in. I've had a lot on their menu, meatloaf dinners, chicken wing dinners, bang-bang shrimp po'boy (it may not be called bang-bang but they know what you mean), catfish, and more. And everything has been delicious. And they have this lowkey party/fun atmosphere since they've added the bar. Would highly recommend.

The turkey was delicious. I enjoyed the cabbage and yams. I love the fact that everything was fantastic and not over seasoned. The price was more than reasonable along with more tian enough portions.

Ole faithful when I don't feel like cooking dinner. So glad they have curbside pick up... If only they answered the phone!! One of my biggest issues is their answering the phone. If it rings, someone picks up then immediately hangs up (every time!). If not, I get an operator because they don't have a voicemail I guess (not to leave a message but still). The food is fresh most of the time and always hot.

Great service. Horrible lukewarm food. The fish was bland, the cabbage was cold and the mac and cheese was an abomination. Never again!

Stopped in to pick-up some fresh cut fruit and smoothie. Just like the other locations I have frequented, restaurant flow has been modified for COVID. I was able to get in and out pretty quickly. While I was just getting fruit, the cooked items smelled great. The staff was courteous. I will definitely stop by again when I am down that way. Bon Apetit.

Crab cakes are gross. They are essentially flat hush puppies with crab meat thrown in. They are not made with lump crab meat as they are heavily breaded. Waste of money and calories.

This place is fabulous. The food is delicious and portions are enormous-- enough to eat for days! Comfort food at its best. The fish is always incredibly fresh, and I've found both the fried and grilled preparations excellent. Their Mac and cheese is a must. I will say that their desserts taste like cheap premade supermarket stuff they've cut up (and marked up substantially). But this place is a staple in my rotation for a reason!

Customer service is horrible! I had a DoorDash order that I paid for, they were having internet problems and never received my order. I paid for the order and received confirmation. I arrive to the store with my receipt and they told me that I needed to go to another store.

**This is for the Hyattsville location ** 2.5 stars overall 3.5 stars for crab legs only Okay you know when you have a taste for something, you're not satisfied until you get it? Well one Sunday we were in the mood for crab legs. We went to the New Carrollton location because we were in the area...but it was closed. We had to settle for something else. The very next day, YelpMDburbs posted a video of Mid Atlantic Laurel....it was a sign!!! The next Sunday went ventured out to MD again, however there was a Redskins home game. HTTR! So traffic was awful. We settled on trying Hyattsville instead of Laurel to save time. Now for the review. The line was almost to the door. All the church folks (and others) were in there with their Sunday's best attire waiting for fish and other seafood. We literally stood in line for 25 minutes before placing our order. Then we waited another 45 minutes for our number to be called. It was the longest wait ever. Similar to being at the DMV. We ordered crab legs, fried Whiting, fried shrimp, mac & cheese, collard greens, yams, and the finest bottled water they had. (Deer Park of course) The crab legs were the highlight, the butter must have been margarine or ghee as the flavor and color seemed different from regular butter. The fried Whiting was decent. The collards and mac were also good, the yams were a bowl of sugar. We tossed out the shrimp....they were super breaded and lacked flavor. I would have rated this a 3 star had the wait time been better. Perhaps Sunday is their busy day but maybe they should revamp their system. The dining area definitely had a carryout feel, although they do have booths. If I try them again, it won't be on a Sunday. I'm curious to know if the Laurel location is different.

Woww Woww Woww!!! Big oyster bar with huge TV that you can follow with some NFL or NBA games during Happy Hour! They have great Seafood dishes... Fried Jumbo Shrimp... OMG!! YOU MUST GET THIS!!! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!! also FRIED CATFISH.... woww... the best catfish I ever had in my life... Just an all around great restaurant and also very clean and lively. 5 Stars!

I stopped in after a day in the doctors office and was suuuuper hungry. I found out the lunch specials that end at 2:00pm are always on the chalkboard like easel. Anyways I looooved the scallops cooked right and juicy full of flavor and you can tell they were fresh!!!!. I got the 2 Fish, 2 Shrimp, 2 Scallops 2 Oysters but you can substitute it for any other meat if you don't eat something which is a good move makes for good business. I've never been to this location so it was very clean, the Bar was set up night the Display cases were filled, stacked and the presentation had my approval.. from the fresh fruits for smoothies to the fresh seafood and salad containers I was very impressed!!!...its nothing bad at all that I can say about this place or my experience I'll definitely be returning to try the fried chicken and fresh fruit smoothies. Also the fresh veggies were amazing wasn't overcooked the flavor was enough to just eat that and come back for more, however I got the Lomein noodles but next time Definitely getting more of those veggies for suuure. Btw get the Half and Half light ice soooo bomb I wish it came in a much bigger cup but I was content with all that I was served today.

This place is a delicious option if you want a homemade meal and at a great price. They give large portion sizes, use fresh ingredients, and season their food to perfection. I will definitely come back here whenever I'm in the DMV area (DC, Maryland, Virginia). We need one of these in Southern California!! Carson, CA to be exact.

Have ordered delivery from other locations but never fish, usually ribs or chicken. This time I got the crabcake and shrimp platter. Must confess I like Old Bay on seafood and this didn't seem to have any, but a few shakes of that blue and yellow can made everything fine. Food was good, nice portions, and packaged nicely. Sides were my usual, potato salad and coleslaw. Tasted like homemade. Also splurged and ordered 2 desserts, one for that day, one for the next. Turtle cheesecake? Ohmygawd, SO good. And coconut Smith Island cake, not super sugary sweet, moist and yummy. All around great meal!

Came here for Happy Hour to celebrate a friends birthday. This was my first time at this location. I normally go to the Mid Atlantic at the Laurel location. For the most part Mid Atlantic has good food so I knew either way I wouldn't be disappointed. I ordered the Catfish sandwich from the happy hour menu. It came on potatoe bread with American Cheese, tartar sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and fried onions and crinkle cut French fries on the side. This sandwich was sooo good. Their happy hour options seem to be better than Laurel's location. I will definitely be back. Everyone else who ordered different items from the menu were thrilled about what they had chosen. There was not one bad review about the food. Some favorites were the shrimp tacos, the wings and the crab quesadilla. I'll definitely have to try those as well.

The portions and the flavor is unreal! I love the prices! This is THE BEST Mid-Atlantic Seafood in the area!!

I do enjoy the food but the wait is horrendous. Additionally there seems to be no logic to how and when they prepare food. I order mashed potatoes and yams. I was number 225. Order number 230, 235, 240,85, 226, 241 and 229 were all called before I recieced my food. I have been waiting 30 minutes for mashed potatoes and yams. The food is served cafeteria style so I don't understand why the wait is so long. Btw I am waiting as I write this review. I would recommend calling ahead to place your order. I will be looking for more organized soul food spots in the future.

This place blew my mind! I forgot about the great food we had up north! Got the rib and chicken combo with 2 sides. The chicken was fried just like I like it crispy and flavorful. The ribs were so tender! I also ordered a side of fried flounder. They amount of food you get I ate on for 2 days and shared it.

The staff is lacking in people skills. As I attempted to collect my condiments from the self help station, one of the employees stood very close to my shoulder. I could almost feel her breathing on me. Very awkward. They forgot to put my peach cobbler in my bag. I stood in line to ask for it. It wasn't my turn yet, but something caught my eye. It was a roach. Crawling on the cash register. I asked the cashier, "Is that a roach?" The Cashier Grabbed the Roach. Squished it between his fingers. And continued to take orders. I left without my cobbler. I'm staring at my Catfish sandwich wondering what it may have been through before reaching my to-go trey.

The place looks like a regular carryout. BUT the food the is awesome!! The drinks are great! Its a local favorite!! The wings fried fish, oysters on half shell, and shrimp tacos are AWESOME!!!!

So many choices and not enough time to try them all. Their menu has it all. From seafood to chicken and soul food. The food was good. Definitely worth the trip.

As much as I thought I was hip, I guess I'm not. I had no idea that this spot is the happening spot. The youngster is into smoothies so I heard that they make nice fresh fruit smoothies. Stopped here on a Friday evening and too my surprise, this place was jammed packed!!! Full bar with two bartenders, nice seafood selections, fresh fruit smoothies, down home southern cooking WITH oldies but goody tunes in the background. Couldn't ask for more after a hard day of work. Any food that you could think of, is offered on the menu. Nice spot for the WHOLE family!!

The menu here is extensive. I mean I wanted to try at least two separate entrees but I knew from reading the reviews that the portion size was going to be too big. Well, let me tell you, they were not joking! I ate there and I left with a whole meal. It looks like I didn't even touch it! The shrimp was big and fried pretty good and the Mac and cheese was good as well. I didn't know what to expect with these green beans but I was pleasantly surprised. They had a teriyaki/Asian flavor that was delicious.

I use to go here all the time until recently I got some bad haddock and the corn and fries were just like they open it and put it in a container without cooking it

The Mid Atlantic Seafood on Queens Chapel Rd is my favorite location out of the Restaurant group. I love the Fried Catfish & Happy Hour Specials.

I have never had soul food so good as I had it at Mid-Atlantic Seafood Company. It was crazy busy on Friday night but my friend and I ventured in and enjoyed multiple items of fried seafood and delicious vegetables cooked Soul style. Amazing! It was busy but the crowds were going at the bar and everyone was having a good time! Definitely something I want to do again next time I'm in the DC area.

You cannot go wrong! And I am a tough critic. But their crab legs are a great size and I believe it was $18 for 1 lb, and 3 lbs for $55, more or less. There is a lot of meat, just see my pix. We also had the peel n eat shrimp, super flavorful. The fried scallops were my favorite and a lot came, I didn't even finish the order. Brother in- law had fried porgy and said it was the best he'd ever had. There was 1 item which I didn't love and won't order again. It's a shrimp and scallop combo over rice. It wasn't bad, but there was way too much peppers and onions. Also it was mainly shrimp and 3 scallops. Again, the flavor was perfect, but my bowl was filled with too much veggies, so I'll pass on this. The collard greens were yummy, but the potato salad was way too sweet. Too much sugar. I'm diabetic so I pick up on sugar, it was more than dill. But their service makes up for these items. Everyone is nice, friendly and professional. I went to the Hyattsville location and they have the system super organized for all your takeout orders. You can even call it in so the food is ready when you get there. There is a bar for your mixed drinks and cocktails & I even saw small bottles of wine. Seafood can be pricey, but whenever I can splurge, this will be the place to do it. Forget about Hook & Reel with their bad attitudes! Ty, Midatlantic Hyattsville--I will be back!

I enjoyed my Lunch at this Location with my mommy Dearest.. Food was plentiful and we had a lot to take home. This is not your typical Restaurant where you have a waiter or waitress. Oh no when you come in you can place your order and they give you a number on your receipt and you wait for it to be called and then you go back to pick up your order. They do have seating available including booths which we decided to grab one. I could definitely see this place getting super crowded on the weekends or evening's. They have 4 huge Flat screen's and a really Nice Bar section which look like they had a wide variety of drinks ready to be mixed.. Now about the menu. They had so much to choose from I had a hard time on deciding what I wanted so l went with the 2 pieces of Fish which was very good, 2 fried shrimp and a crab cake. You had your choice of 2 sides and a Dinner roll or your choice of bread. Also had corn bread for an additional small fee. Both meals come with a choice of can soda or bottle of water. My mom had the Fish and chicken wing deal. It came with 2 pieces of fish and 3 wings which she said was super delicious! She had the Broccoli, and Yams as her Two sides and she opted for the Cornbread instead of regular bread. The collard greens was good and plentiful but they gave me a lot of stems to go with it and I'm not a big fan of stems even when I cook my own Greens at home so they could of kept that. I also tasted vinegar but it still was pretty good. The Yams was definitely fresh and Homemade like the greens. Super good! The crab cake was just ok. I've had better you could definitely taste the crab but it did have some fillers. Nothing to write home about. Now my Fish was very good!! All I needed was a little Hot sauce and I was good to go! I told my mom we will be making this one of our Seafood and Soul food spots at least 1 a month. I will be checking the location out the near me in Laurel, MD to do some Comparison.. Oh I definitely will be back!!!

The best flavor with in the area. Generous portions and friendly atmosphere. Lunch time is my choice but later on evening, the Happy Hour could be a good incentive for some people to visit this reasonable prices
