I don’t think I’ve EVER had a bad meal here. Always something new to try but the tried and true are always a go to. Food is soul filling. Thank you for a good meal with leftovers because servings are top notch. I have dreamed of my meal and woke up and knew I had to find a way to get back to fulfill the craving. If you’ve never had mid Atlantic you ARE MISSING OUT INDEED. No time for pictures the food speaks for itself.

I just had the breakfast of champions thanks to Mid Atlantic Seafood Takoma park. I do have a couple of regrets though and they are listed below: 1. I should’ve ordered a bigger smoothie 2. I should’ve known about this place sooner The food was made with TLC. I wish I had the option to add syrup to my French toast though. Even without syrup, it tasted great! I’d highly recommend this place for breakfast and will order again.

Ordered from Door Dash at 1:45 received cold food at 2:46. Sandwich was hard , egg was cooked in dirty grease. Shrimp and grits didn’t contain jumbo shrimp, grits was swimming in butter topped with cheese and dried parsley, not fresh green onion you see in picture. Door dash gave me refund of 11.00 for this 50 order. Didn’t receive home fries I paid extra for. Poor service from both businesses. Definitely an insult to receive 11. To throw away in trash. Will never patronize t door Dash or Mid Atlantic. You can keep your 11 credit to door dash account.

I have gotten the turkey wings from this location twice, and on both occasions, so much more to be desired. Unlike its brother and sister locations, this location does not have peppers and onions in the turkey wings, nor do they favor seasoning and the nice sauce that usually comes on the turkey wings. On top of that, the ribs had a watered down barbecue sauce on them. They too lacked seasoning, and required doctoring in order to stomach. I wonder what it is that makes this location so much different than the others, but maybe they could take some tips on preparing the food so that it is in line with the other restaurants.

I reluctantly placed an order via Door Dash with Smoothies by Mid Atlantic. My past experiences have been disappointing, however, when the food and smoothies arrived I was pleasantly pleased. The smoothies were crisp and delicious. I was not sure if the Watermelon Strawberry Smoothie (extra strawberry) was going to taste like the rind, so I added extra strawberries. It turned out to be a wonderful taste. My first orders was for 2 jumbos, which was more than filling. (I'd guess ~32oz.) The 2nd was put in the refrigerator for the next day and held together well. My second was Extra Jumbo. (~40+ oz). One was enough for me for 2 days! It also held together well in the refrigerator. Still delicious. The New England Clam Chowder was well made with a lot of clams. The clams were clean and meaty. I am from New England and this is very close to true New England Clam Chowder. Fish Fillet (Whiting) Sub was bigger than I thought and stuffed with ingredients and the Chicken Quesadilla satisfied my craving. I was very pleased with my order. So much so I reordered three days later. The smoothies and the food remained consistent. I thought the cost for my order was too high, however, upon receiving the orders, the portions and the quality were well worth the price. I highly recommend Smoothies by Mid Atlantic. I look forward to visiting the Takoma restaurant soon.

Ordered delivery via Uber eats. Fast pickup and the food was well wrapped to prevent spilling. Food was just okay, not the worst but wouldn’t order again. Chicken liver was decent, but the coating/deep frying masks the liver taste so if you’re looking for that, I would pass on this dish. Clam chowder was good; cornbread was average. Didn’t like the sauce on the green beans - too sweet. Green beans were also dry inside. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes - slightly below average and both a little dry. Cabbage with carrots was excellent! Not a lot of seasoning but cooked well and still has a good flavor.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mid Atlantic Seafood Restaurant in Takoma Park, Maryland, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Firstly, I called in advance to place my order, and the staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. They took my order accurately and provided a clear pick-up time. When I arrived, my food was ready and waiting for me, which was a huge plus. The quality of the food was outstanding. Despite being a take-out order, everything was still hot and fresh when I got home. The seafood was cooked to perfection, with a delightful blend of flavors that truly showcased the freshness of the ingredients. Each dish was beautifully presented, even in the take-out containers, which added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail in the preparation and packaging of the food. It was clear that the restaurant takes pride in ensuring that their customers have a great dining experience, whether they are eating in or taking out. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. I appreciated the variety of seafood options on the menu, which catered to different tastes and preferences. Overall, my experience at Mid Atlantic Seafood Restaurant was fantastic. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and great value for money makes this restaurant a standout in Takoma Park. I will definitely be returning and recommending it to friends and family. 5 stars all around!

We placed an order with uber eats. Our food was packaged to stay warm and with almost an hour delivery time, it definitely did its job. Food arrived hot. Everything was sooo flavorful. Large portions, it was like Thanksgiving day. So yummy. Will absolutely be ordering here again in the future.

I ve ordered from here many times since the pandemic and never been disappointed. I swear by their whitting fish dinner. The cook the flavor that distinctive crunch. I ve branched out trying other things on the menu. I m addicted to their peach cobbler. I even recently tried their meatballs with 2 sides They serve them with barbque sauce and yes its got my approval

This review is for the breakfast that is only available online..... The French toast here is out of this world! It's sooo good. I have been ordering every week for the past month and they have not let me down yet. Whomever the chef is need a raise or we can get married because I need these French toast in my life! They are seasoned to the gods of seasoning. I highly recommend. Even the home fries are good! This food will definitely make you slap your momma!

Came here while visiting friends and a friend said the food was good, lies! When you enter the restaurant, it is not appealing whatsoever. Certainly not a place to sit and eat even though there are dinning tables which appeared to be unkept. This place serves what one would consider "southern" food. I ordered the catfish dinner (4pcs), with fried rice and collard greens. The catfish was not seasoned at all and were tasteless. The collard greens were basic, no meat or anything in them and very soggy. The friend rice was actually okay. My friend ordered the veggie platter (Mac and cheese, cheese broccoli, black eyed peas with white rice, and candied yams). The veggie platter did not look good to me but my friend said his food was good, I doubt it lol. I did notice frozen crab legs in one of the showcases so I will assume that they also steam seafood as well. I am not sure nor will I return to try. Overall, I did not like the look of this place and the food did not look or taste fresh.

I drove by here multiple times and finally stopped in. WORTH IT!!! I was not prepared for how big their portions are, they are very generous! The ribs were great. The mac & cheese was perfection. Seriously, everything is so good! Staff were so nice, and it was my first time, so they explained how the ordering process works. Highly recommend stopping in!

I've been a few times. Twice pick up and once sit- down. Everything ordered was plenty and delicious. So much to choose from . Everything was tempting. Atmosphere or ambiance since it serves alcohol customs were enjoying themselves .Ordering was a breeze but you maybe waiting in a line. Food brought to your table took too long. So It's best to pickup . I am going back.

Great food and lots of it. The portion sizes are enough for two people. Tastes homemade! Service is always top notch.

I ordered the cinnamon French toast platter on Uber eats. What I received was only eggs and bread they did not include my main protein or offer a satisfactory resolution to their error. The service is a joke and nobody reached out to me regarding this mishap.

Technically, this review is about Dessert by Mid Atlantic since this was listed as the name on Grubhub. I ordered from Dessert by Mid Atlantic (I assumed that it was a bakery of sorts) because it was one of the few places that delivered desserts after 7 pm. For our order, we went with the Red Velvet Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Apple Walnut Bread Pudding. Overall, I thought the desserts were kind of meh. The cheesecakes were edible, but they tasted a bit bland. I can't put my finger on exactly what was, but something was missing flavorwise. I thought the bread pudding was pretty tasty. Since the bread pudding was about $11, I was a bit disappointed with the portion size of the dessert. I wonder if the bread pudding comes with ice cream when you order in person at the restaurant, which should be the only reason why it's $11. While nothing was horrible with our dessert order, I have a feeling that I might pass on another opportunity to have desserts from this place.

I used to go here on the regular but they're prices are ridiculously high. I mean it's no longer you guys recouping from your losses during covid but now they stay this high smdh. I'll stiick with little spots like moms n pop stores or even IHOP A turkey bacon, egg n cheese with one side and a drink should not cost me $20 bucks. And get this if you order three crab cakes and 2, eggs and grits with NO DRINK, it should not come out to close to SIXTY DOLLARS!! LWTH!! Thanks but no thanks. Every dish is basically $5 to $7 dollars more than any place else! I'll pass

Kind service, great seafood (anything stuffed is the correct way to go). And their smoothies are an underrated gem down here! A bit of a wait for food but well worth it.

I usually do a pretty good review...good, bad or indifferent. Today, I have received food undeserving of ANY feedback. This has never happened. Yes. It was THAT bad. The meal: *Butter beans (no seasoning AT ALL) *Cabbage (not one flake of seasoning) *Fried whiting (swimming in grease) *Fried shrimp (swimming in grease) Gave them a try because I'd gotten fried catfish from them before that was quite tasty. Oh well.

This place has it all...and I mean ALL the good! I love their red snapper combo, and let me say this...you get your moneys worth! We live right down the street and love getting take out from here! The staff are always working their butts off to make the food hot and ready. They've never screwed up our order and everyone friends or family come to visit us in DC, we make sure to order from here. The place is a bit dated and old looking, but who cares when the foods this good!

Catfish was really crispy and flavorful. The kale and potatos were great.Portion were so huge,had to take some to go. It was very busy upon arrival and we had to wait for a while for the food. Apart from that,it was a great experience.

I've been ordering lunch and dinner and was happy with the services until yesterday !! I spent 100.00+ my fish was soggy fried croakers did not received my corn bread nor my fried rice but yet they still charge 100.00+ I don't know if it is under new management but the customer services sucks the manger was no help with so ever he tells me to bring the food back which I paid $14 for delivery the order should have been check before it sent out!!! UNHAPPY CUSTOMER WILL TELL ALL FRIENDS AND THAT I RECOMENDED TO YOU GUYS!!! UNHAPPY LONGTIME CUSTOMER!!

The order looked like it was picked over the greens was all over top of the chicken. There is not potato salad and no cornbread the only thing they got right was the Half and half.

Too many choices. Food is common typical buffet food. You get a lot for a reasonable price. The seafood was not fresh. The sweet potatoes and greens were canned. I probably won't return.

Breakfast food doesn't disappoint! Only downside is the employees were talking over the food quite a bit, singing even.

I ordered the baked turkey wings, mac & cheeses & collards with cornbread. Their food SLAPS, never fails you. Very well seasoned.

I really wanted catfish and from another restaurant close by but parking was a nightmare so I found myself back at Mid Atlantic. I had to update my previous reviews however, and in spite of the awesome communication and customer service from the manager Eric because of a few things I experienced during my last visit. I almost always try to place orders for carry-out online so I can to eliminate waiting in lines and tried to do just that for my order that night. I put everything in the cart, indicated that I was picking up and a tip option came up. Since I'm carrying out, I did not include a tip and proceed to the checkout screen...except that I noticed that the tip was still there. Thinking I'd made a mistake, I went back to the previous screen to remove the tip and despite my indicating a $0 tip, a 10% tip somehow made its way back into my cart. I tried to remove it a few more times but with no success. I could see someone proceeding to checkout and not noticing the included tip, which I'm hoping is an error and can be corrected. Because of the issue online, I went inside to place my order the old fashion way. There were 2 ladies in an exchange with the employee that took their orders because they'd been charged too much for the daily special and they were NOT happy about it. Lastly, while I always enjoy the catfish, the sides are another story and they need new recipes ASAP. Throw them all away and start over! Everything looks like it comes from a can and is minimally doctored up, if at all, to taste halfway good. My candied yams and Mac and cheese were flavorless even though, to their credit, they give really large portions. It's a waste though because both sides went into the trash. I will only order fried fish a la carte going forward or until something is done about those nasty sides.

Catered an order through Mid Atlantic with only a 2 hour notice. The food was amazing! The timing saved me and pick up was on time and ready to go. Seriously can not recommend this place enough! I ordered a platter of fried shrimp, cornbread, Mac & cheese & sweet corn! My office couldn't get enough of the flavor.

Their breakfast is a rip off. Just the most basic sandwich a bacon egg and cheese cost around $8.50.No sides nothing. Their prices are expensive.

This is one of those places I've passed by all my life and never thought to visit. Coincidentally, I've visited their other location in Hyattsville not too long ago. I didn't realize it was the same establishment until I entered and saw that the inside was styled the same way and they sold the same food items. I decided to try something different at this location. I've been craving fried fish lately, so I decided to get the three piece fried whiting with two sides. For sides I got green beans and mashed potatoes, and the meal came with two slices of white bread. The food was so good! I was in heaven! I especially loved the green beans. It was seasoned with I think a teriyaki sauce and had mushroom pieces mixed in it. Each fish fillet was pretty large and it was cooked to order. The wait time wasn't too bad even with a good amount of people in the restaurant. I definitely enjoyed everything I ate and love how huge the portions are. It can definitely be shared with another person.

On Saturday, August 11, 2024, I ordered a dinner at this location. It consisted of turkey wings, cabbage and black eyed peas. I usually eat in, but the other two ladies with me wanted to take it out. When I opened the container I saw what appeared to be a hair in the peas. I lifted it out with a spoon, only to find it was the antenna of a roach covered in the juice from the black eyed peas. I was horrified and sickened by the thought that I could have eaten it. I have been going to that restaurant for years and have never lodged a complaint, but this needs to be reported. The health department must mandate and shut down for extermination purposes. We know that pests exist, but when they are cooked in the food, that is out of control. Beware, check your food. Be vigilant. I will never patronize them again.

The cakes that they have are so fresh and delicious. I have been getting them now like every week for months.

Holy portion sizes! I ordered two dinners on the way home from running errands and not only got enough for two dinners but two lunches as well! I've had takeout from here before but only breakfast (which was incredible - highly recommend the pork chops and eggs). I had the baked chicken with kale and potato/onions and the bbq ribs with Mac and cheese and broccoli. SO delicious. I can't wait for my lunch leftovers today! I need to go back for some seafood :)

Haven't had their seafood but I ordered Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, a Philly Cheesesteak, and a Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak on DoorDash for my wife and I all of which were delicious.

I love this restauran! it has everything! I can eat in, or Carry out. It even has a social area with adult drinks if you want to hang out. The food is very delicious and the service is great! when you look around you'll see they're very good about their restaurants being clean. I recommend this great place to everyone!!

The food at this location is on point. I ordered from here through DoorDash, and the meal traveled well. It was still fresh when it arrived, with the smells from the bag getting my stomach rumbling. I ordered baked Salmon with fried plantains and hush puppies as the sides. The salmon was excellent and in good portions. The plantains and hush puppies were plump and delicious.

Dessert there is underrated, to say the least. The banana pudding was an item I door dashed and it came promptly and was DELICIOUS. highly recommend this place.

Ordered two desserts from Mid Atlantic off of Uber eats. The chocolate cake was a 7/10. Great icing and pretty good cake. Definitely worth the price. The banana pudding was incredible 10/10. Nice big chunks of banana, good pudding and a hearty amount of Nilla wafers. I highly recommend the pudding. Serving sizes are totally reasonable, and the price is fair. I am so glad they are on Uber eats, I will order the pudding again.

Cold, felt old, not flavorful. Had the crab cakes which were mostly breading and the stuffed shrimp which tasted like straight oil. Should have gotten gravy on potatoes because they were thicker than a snicker.

Boomboom Shrimp Po'boy was tasty. I asked for lettuce and tomato on it but Next time won't cuz it gets slimy/mushy (due to the heat of the shrimp) BUT remove those and youre good! Shrimp were nice size and the sweet sauce with a lil kick came through even with the bread. Bread lightly toasted. The large peach drink hit the spot. Skip the wings. They were fried hard enough.

Mango smoothie is the best thing on the menu. Banana pudding is also outstanding. Well worth the money spent. Highly recommended.

Have now ordered delivery through Door Dash twice with very split results. First order, about a month ago, was fried fish with French fries and corn nuggets. Oh, and coleslaw. When I tell you every last bit was AMAZING and delicious, I am not exaggerating. Second order was last night. I ordered fried shrimp, fries, and mac and cheese. The only thing I remotely enjoyed were the fries although there wasn't even a hint of crispiness. They were fully cooked but needed a couple more minutes. Now the shrimp, they were huge. But sadly the taste was very off putting and it made them inedible. I couldn't put my finger on it, but my husband said coconut. I don't think that's what it was because I like coconut shrimp. The Mac and cheese I couldn't even fry. It was a really odd color and so congealed. Hubby said it wasn't very good. So, I'm not sure if last night was a one-off or if I should just steer clear of these items. It's way too pricy for inconsistency like this. Sadly I rated the place 4 because I gave the driver her 5 rating. So felt I needed to weigh in here.

I don't understand the negative reviews of this restaurant. I am from Mississippi and I'm very picky about my southern food. I had catfish, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy and collard greens. In my book, everything was tasty, and definitely a lot of food for the money.

Soooo you can't miss this place. It is shaped in a way it stands out. Parking was ok with me when I went in at 11:50am. When you walk in the store the amount of menus that are inside the carry out is overwhelming! Like seriously lol they do breakfast in here too! And they have dessert. Let me not side tracK you guys. Lol They have specials on a separate menu that saves you money and that is always good. The meal I ordered was the grilled seafood platter.. it's was $24 after tax and it came with a crab cake, two whitening fish, scallops and shrimp. Two sides and cornbread. It's ALOT of food honestly for what you pay for. I shared it with my mom and she was full from me splitting everything in half. The sides are ok! Collard greens are basic, their teriyaki green beans are amazing and Brussels mix! The sweet potatoes where huge and hard smh The chitterlings are BOMB!!! And they are clean!! Like that is the most dirty part of an animal but they hook it up! I don't like them but they let me saMple it and I bought a small cup for $9.50. And it was pricey but worth it. Will I come here again? Sure!! Good experience.

Best fried fish whiting always fresh and fried to perfection. The yams are always a hit along with the collard greens. Black eyed peas are slapping meaning really good. The service is always good with quick service. The ambiance gives off back in the day school lunch cafeteria lol but it doesn't take away that food is always good. I always carry out but alot of people who dines in are older retired citizens. If you looking for some really good soul food please check this place out

If you're looking for a hardy meal with plenty of food options then I would highly recommend MidAtlantic Seafood (Takoma). I've been to 3 other locations. The Laurel location is my favorite, but I also love the Takoma location. The serving sizes are large, and you will always have food left overs the following day. They also offer breakfast at this location. I the breakfast as well. Sometime it get busy so I usually call ahead of time, and when I arrive the food is always ready. They also cater!

So, the first time I had a poor experience with this restaurant was when they omitted half of my order...Like they never even made it. I decided to try again. Bad move. I ordered 2 lunch meals from Uber Eats. What I recieved was a breakfast order from Doordash with someone else's name on it. I wouldn't recommend ordering from Mid Atlantic Takoma Park through a delivery service. If you aren't walking in or driving up and checking your order before you leave, chances are, the order is completely wrong. You've been warned! Shout out to Kimberly B! I have your breakfast order from Doordash. I hope you at least got my order and enjoy it!

I don't know who taught these folks to make soul food, but it is on point! They serve everything from fried fish to chitlins here, so if they don't have it, you don't need it. I've been coming here for years and always get the same thing, the fried perch dinner with mac and cheese and candied yams. It never disappoints. That fish tastes so fresh, and it's always seasoned and fried perfectly. The portions are generous and even on my greedy fat days, one dinner is enough to last me at least two meals.

This is so FRUSTRATING! There is NO organization! I have seen people place orders after me and already have left with their food! WTF kind of service is that? All of the staff scramble around without any type of order! I watched some of the staff out LOTS inside of the dishes while others put a little bit! = no standard side amounts! I don't think I'll be back anytime soon! They just called 315 and 310 and skipped my order of 308! Social distancing is not practiced inside even though there are markers on the floor.

I travel to DC often and while there are many options it's quality that can be difficult to find. This place is incredible, it will not disappoint. The breakfast French toast is delicious & the mango smoothie I've ordered two days in a row! Plan to order again tomorrow.

Stopped by with family when I was in the area. The food was decent and the portions were huge. They have a nice menu with a nice variety. I went with the healthier options I could find, like rice and veggies. My food was flavorful and fresh. The only thing questionable was the cleanliness. I truly hope everything in the back is cleaned and sanitary...

I am singing the praises of MidAtlantic Seafood. The turkey wings are my most recent faves. They are fall off the bone delicious! Well seasoned and great portions make me so happy. Someone in that kitchen is cooking with love because food alone isn't that good. Try them with roasted red potatoes and green beans, and don't forget the cornbread. You'll have enough for at least 2 meals. And the fried pork chops are always on point. Bon appetit!

Got food poisoning from their whiting years ago. Have noticed over the last year that they have used at least two names for non existent restaurants on doordash. First time they used a glorious looking hamburger photo that belonged to an LA gourmet burger joint. They gave themselves a fake name for the burger joint. Now I see they are pretending to be a restaurant called "the hang out" How do I know it's them in both cases? Same exact address. And worse they are marking up covid19 face masks at 50x the cost to sell to doordahs customers. The fact that they are pretending to be restaurants that don't exist is so gross.

I have been frequenting Mid-Atlantic for several years - both locations. If you're lucky, you may be able to beat the crowded parking lots and long lines. However, it's rare in my experience. I've tried so many items from their menu, it's hard to remember exactly what. But I love their fried fish, fried seafood(scallops not so much) as well as the baked trout stuffed with lump crab. For sides, I always get kale, collard greens and mac & cheese. The fish/seafood is fresh and made to order. So be prepared to wait. But when it comes out piping hot and the deliciousness just melts in your mouth, you'll forget you had to wait so long. I'm disappointed to see all the negative reviews. Everyone I have introduced to Mid-Atlantic has left with a happy full belly. Prices are reasonable and standard to seafood in the area.

Best way to start the day! Ordered breakfast through door dash. Got the one meat platter with pancakes and haven't stopped thinking about it. This truly was one of the closed things to a good southern breakfast I've had here in DC since moving here.

I called this morning about 730-8am for a catering order. Super last minute because I wanted it at 1130am today. I spoke with someone, she checked to make sure my order had come through, and assured me it would be here by 1130am. Well, guess what, it arrived at 11:00am, the food was still hot. The fish and chicken were fresh, the cheesy potatoes were delicious, and the salad was fresh and cold. Mid Atlantic, yall did that. You are now on the list of caterers to call when we need food for events. We do very good about planning, but we dropped the ball and you guys picked it up and ran with it. Thank you so much for you attention to our ciaos. Oh, I forgot to get photos before my team attacked the food. Next time for sure.
