I really wanted catfish and from another restaurant close by but parking was a nightmare so I found myself back at Mid Atlantic. I had to update my previous reviews however, and in spite of the awesome communication and customer service from the manager Eric because of a few things I experienced during my last visit.
I almost always try to place orders for carry-out online so I can to eliminate waiting in lines and tried to do just that for my order that night. I put everything in the cart, indicated that I was picking up and a tip option came up. Since I'm carrying out, I did not include a tip and proceed to the checkout screen...except that I noticed that the tip was still there. Thinking I'd made a mistake, I went back to the previous screen to remove the tip and despite my indicating a $0 tip, a 10% tip somehow made its way back into my cart. I tried to remove it a few more times but with no success. I could see someone proceeding to checkout and not noticing the included tip, which I'm hoping is an error and can be corrected.
Because of the issue online, I went inside to place my order the old fashion way. There were 2 ladies in an exchange with the employee that took their orders because they'd been charged too much for the daily special and they were NOT happy about it.
Lastly, while I always enjoy the catfish, the sides are another story and they need new recipes ASAP. Throw them all away and start over! Everything looks like it comes from a can and is minimally doctored up, if at all, to taste halfway good. My candied yams and Mac and cheese were flavorless even though, to their credit, they give really large portions. It's a waste though because both sides went into the trash. I will only order fried fish a la carte going forward or until something is done about those nasty sides.
