Sandy’s Muffuletta Pop-Up Brings the New Orleans–Style Sandwich to San Francisco | Eater SF
"I'm excited by a meaty new pop-up serving muffuletta — Sandy’s — from Peterson Harter, a New Orleans native and one half of the Bread Spread Pickle duo. Harter built the one-stop shop around a classic muffuletta approach: a sturdy round bread dialed into the perfect bite after trial-and-error testing, a tight stack of thinly sliced sopressata, mortadella, prosciutto and provolone, and an olive salad of kalamatas with finely chopped pickled cauliflower and carrots; the result is roughly 75% filling to 25% bread, salty, fatty, pleasantly bitter and a little spicy, and best eaten with a beer. After extensive testing (and many one-sided arm workouts on the meat slicer), Harter launched preorders for pickup on Saturday, April 17, and Sandy’s is billed as the first pop-up in a series with more weekend dates to follow." - Becky Duffett
