Somewhere between a 3 and a 4 but I'm rounding up for the overall atmosphere, the proximity of a solid jack-of-all-trades place to my apartment, and the parking lot in the back. Like other reviews have mentioned, the interior is airy and bright and spacious, suitable for date night, girl's night, a special occasion, birthdays, etc. I counted quite a few tables, including some enviable looking booths, but do recommend making a reservation particularly for Friday and Saturday nights.
My favorite of the dishes we ordered was the North Shore fritto misto, with generous, not too oily or breaded chunks of calamari. I liked the kick of the cherry peppers in the dish. I got a lot of calamari, but not much of the featured clam strips or oysters.
We also tried the Sicilian mussels. Couldn't really taste either the pesto or the chili, a really tomato-forward dish, but otherwise the mussels were cooked well and the accompanying sauce would have been perfect with some more of the table bread. A word on the portion sizes - the photos don't do justice to how big even the appetizers are. Three of the apps are more than enough for two people.
Second favorite of the night was the eggplant parm. Initially, I thought it was a little steep at $24 for a vegetarian entree without any sides but I ate my words when I tried that first bite. Beautiful layers, expertly crisp top, almost like a lasagna. I would definitely order this again.
I didn't love the cheese pizza - it was a bit too thin-crust for me, and that's coming from someone who much prefers the toppings/cheese to the dough. If you're someone who loves fluffy/chewy dough, this pizza is probably not going to do it for you.
Our waiter checked up on us often. Extensive wine and cocktail list. Bears repeating that there is a whole parking lot in the back once you make the right turn before the restaurant, as well as tons of street parking nearby.
