Best New Restaurants in Baltimore, According to Eater Editors | Eater DC

"Atlas Restaurant Group alum Karim Kiriakos and tenured chef Cy Keefer team up on a new Canton restaurant with a spooky speakeasy up top. The globe-trotting menu showcases tandori octopus, pork belly ramen, fish and chips, and lobster chicken pot pie. For a nightcap, check out Poe’s Tower — its upstairs speakeasy that pays homage to Baltimore’s beloved author Edgar Allan Poe. Located past a hidden bookcase under a neon-lit “nevermore” sign, sip on the same lineup found downstairs (think a strawberry Aperol spritz, Old Fashioned, and Empress gin fizz)." - Jess Mayhugh

Came in late but the staff was super welcoming my husband and I ordered dinner and the food was fantastic!!! We sat at the bar and our bartender was so attentive and friendly!! The menu is different so she and the owner took their time explaining it and gave great recommendations I had the pork belly carbonara and my husband had the Ramen they were both seasoned perfectly!!! And absolutely loved the speakeasy Poe vibe. Will most definitely be going back

I was ready to love this place, but alas, it was a bit underwhelming. The food presentation is beautiful, and that must be what you pay for, because I found the food bland for the high prices. The homemade gnocchi sounded better than it tasted. Adding salt and pepper helped, but the dish fell short overall. The hummus and artisan bread was not good. The seafood pasta was made with too much butter and was just too basic for the price point. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere is nice. For the cost, there are better options in the area.

I have to say that I was underwhelmed by the food and service at this restaurant. I decided to go with my family to celebrate my birthday and the night ended with us being served raw donuts twice! Since we arrived early, we thought we would have quick service but it quickly became clear that only one person was going to wait on several tables, which included a large party. She did her best but service took longer than it needed because of all the tables she had. What I couldn't understand was why there were two hosts but only one waiter. In any case, we ordered pork belly and meatballs for our appetizers. They were both good but the meatballs stood out. It should actually be made into an entree. The entrees, however, weren't as good. In fact, the chicken came out luke warm like it was just heated in the microwave even though you could see blood on the bone. We asked for it to be cooked some more which made it edible. It actually tasted pretty good. We loved the flavors. I ordered the seafood pasta dish which could have been better. The clams had a bitter taste and the caviar was mushy. We also had the bolognese, which I'm sure was good since both my sons emptied their plates. We decided to split the donuts for dessert and this is where it went from okay to bad. How do you fry donuts twice and both times they are raw? We were upset by this point and just walked out. Needless to say, I didn't have a great birthday dinner. If you do decide to check them out anyway, pass on the desserts.

Drinks are always good, food is different but different as in never had or seen anything this good before. I come off work and love the vibes. The owner works too and always meeting customers/ cooking in the back. I saw this man make me a drink, be the same person clean up and take out the trash. Love it

Midline lived up to it's name as a bridge of many cultures. The food choices were very diverse with options and flavors for all tastes. The appetizers and entre's were beautifully prepared and were hot and flavorful. Patrons should read the descriptions carefully and/or ask the waitstaff about the items. Many of the items are not what you would normally find in Baltimore, they have a very international flavor. Wonderful for people looking for food to delight their palate, but not so much for people looking for grandma's favorite recipes. Logan our waitress was very attentive, but not intrusive and was able to answer all of our questions about food, drinks and the restaurants history. The wine list was short, but every wine on the list was top quality, from the bottom of the price list to the top. I did not see a mock cocktail menu but they asked what I liked and made a nice mocktail special. Parking is nonexistent but the valet service was quick and easy to use. The speakeasy looked fun, but when I return I'll be coming back for the great food, service and an easy environment were I can have conversations with my friends.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Midlina, and it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The food, drinks, service and ambiance all came together to create a memorable night out. To begin with, the ambiance was inviting and stylish, setting the perfect backdrop for an enjoyable meal. The decor was thoughtfully chosen, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food. The tandoori octopus was a standout dish – perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The duck ramen was another highlight, rich and comforting with just the right amount of seasoning. Additionally, the beet hummus was a delightful surprise, vibrant and delicious, making it a must-try for anyone visiting. As for the drinks, the espresso cocktail was simply divine. It was a fantastic blend of flavors that left a lasting impression. The Speakeasy upstairs - Poe’s Tower was a nice way to end our night with some after dinner drinks. Overall, Midlina is a gem of a restaurant that I can’t recommend enough. If you're looking for amazing food and drinks in a lovely setting, this is the place to be!

Google
I cannot recommend this place enough! The atmosphere was classy and intimate, and the service was outstanding - attentive & friendly. The food was absolutely incredible. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. We tried lobster chicken pot pie, and it was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The cocktails were just as impressive. The best part was checking out the speakeasy upstairs after dinner. They featured a special menu and had live music. It was the perfect ending to a night! This place is definitely a new Baltimore favorite. I can’t wait to come back!

Google
The food truly incorporates cuisines from across the globe. The menu is constantly rotating and the food is excellent. The cocktails are unique and flavorful and the service is attentive. Dessert is also a must have. And after it’s all over, the speak easy upstairs has its own list of cocktails to end the night, and often has live music. A real gem of Baltimore.

Yelp
Very rarely do you get a chance to have a perfect dining experience, but Mudlina was definitely it. Came on a Wednesday to meet my Yelp Fam and it wasn't crowded at all. It's Located on Boston Street in Canton so just know there won't be anyplace to park close by. From the moment you step in you can see the time and dedication they put into decorating. Inside it looks amazing. Decided to hang at the bar to have dinner. I like a good Old Fashioned so I ordered one. The presentation was immaculate. The bar tended mixed it perfected and smoked it in a smoke box. She brought the whole box to me and allowed me to video the presentation. She was training a new bar tender but it did not impact the service I received. The full menu was available at the bar. I decided to get the grilled sampler platter. It came with two skirt steaks, two pork belly slices, and two chicken skewers. It had side of grilled peppers, potatoes, and Brussels sprouts. It was definitely enough food for two people so I had plenty of leftovers. They had a lovely Whiskey Decanter shaped like Thor's Hammer. The house manager came over and allowed us to have generous shots of Old Forester from it. The owner even came over to make sure everything was going well. I had no room for dessert but I did have room for another drink. The bar tender convinced us to go up to the Speak Easy. The entrance was located in a bookcase inside the main dinning area that accessed and stairwell. It lead up to the Largest Speakeasy in Baltimore and possibly the state. In true Baltimore style it was decked out in Edgar Allen Poe. It was just as, if not more beautiful that downstairs. There was a totally different menu up there as well. I tried out the Annabel Lee's Kiss Cocktail. It was crafted with care as well. The owner, Karim even came up and chatted with us. We learned all about how he opened this location and how he curated the menu. Oh and the menu does change seasonally so there will be a new fall one soon. I can't wait to see what's in store. This was like a private dining experience. Everything was amazing and flawless. I would give them extra stars if I could.

Yelp
Midlina is one of the newest spots around town, opening about 6 months ago. Went to midlina on a Wednesday evening. It was pretty quiet and intimate so it felt like I was getting a private dining experience although there were other guest at the same time. Joy, Nichole, and Melissa were the perfect host and wait staff. All very attentive. And went above and beyond. Owner Chef Karim also greeted us personally and asked about our dining experience. He was very engaging as well and provided us with a little info session about Midlina. So on theme, very Baltimore. Yet very authentic to the owners personal journey to bring us this gem. Run to Midlina asap before the secret gets out. To start, I got the bridge between continents cocktail which contains butterfly pea tea and lavender and it was so refreshing. Tastes like lemonade but better. Next I tried the strawberry aperol spritz. This added flavor boost to the classic drink was so enjoyable to my taste buds. If you don't like the bitterness that the classic aperol spritz has but love how refreshing they are, then this is for you. Ragu pasta (not sure I got the name of the dish right) was everything I thought it would be. The meat just melted in your mouth and the pasta noodles were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend. You get a lot of food here. So come hungry. Chef Karim advised us that there is an upcoming menu change. So if you are eyeing the current menu options go now. Then I headed upstairs to the speak easy and it was everything I could have dreamed off. Perfect atmosphere for a speak easy. Fun fact, this is the biggest speak easy in Baltimore. The drink options are different upstairs. So I had to try a drink from that menu. I got the Poe's Tears and once again the drink was so delicious and did not disappoint. Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time.

Yelp
Came on the last day of restaurant week. Which was the best idea I could have made this week. I ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was extremely tender and flavorful. The potatoes were succulent and the eggs were done just right. The waitress angi was very nice. Her service was quick and accommodating. Initially the potatoes didn't come out the way I wanted them. So they were taken back and a fresh perfect serving was given to me. Those potatoes were much better I want to come back to experience the speakeasy. This place was a real vibe. I would take all my friends here to hang out and eat.

Yelp
Visited for restaurant week! Brunch was good! Shout out to Ami for the amazing service! I've had this place bookmarked for months! I'm glad we came. The speakeasy (Poe's Tower) is upstairs and the dining room is on the main level. The speakeasy wasn't open yet (opens at 4) but still was able to get a tour. It's the largest speakeasy in Baltimore! Parking was decent. I had the steak (w/chimicurri), eggs and potatoes. The steak was a small portion but it well seasoned and delicious! With the restaurant week menu, brunch entrees came with a cocktail. At $35, not bad at all. The owner, Karim, stopped by to check on us. I appreciate great customer service! I'll be back for the speakeasy vibes soon or happy hour!

Yelp
Hands down one of the best overall experiences I've had at a restaurant in a long time. So I've been to Poes Tower.. the speakeasy, bit today was my first time dining at Midlina... the full service restaurant. I came with a few friends who recently got married. We sat at the bar and were served by the the lovely bartenders, Nichole and Melissa. I tried the Espresso cocktail... yes it's a cocktail and not your traditional martini. It was a fun take on the classic drink. For my appetizer I had the Kofta Meatballs and my entree was the seafood pasta (that's not the name.. I just can't spell the real name lol). Everything was so good and filling. My group decided to head up to the speakeasy. I had the Dubai Chocolate drinks it was really tasty. The Chef came out to chat with us for a bit, he's really nice and said they update the menu with the season and that they also have Brunch on the weekends. I heard they have the best Chicken and Waffles and Mimosas Flight in the City! Midlina to me is a great all purpose restaurant.. you can catch up with friends here, go out for a solo evening and listen to live music in the speakeasy, or have a really good date night here. If you haven't tried Midlina or Poes Tower you have to put them on your Foodie List

Yelp
WOW!! My friend and I picked this place to celebrate my graduation and it blew our minds! I was rushing to meet my friend for our 7pm dinner appointment and it was raining hard outside. As soon as I stepped inside Midlina, I was transported into another world. The restaurant was dimly lit with silver tiled ceiling and wall lined up with bookcases. The restaurant gave off a welcoming vibe. Our server was friendly and helpful. She answered all our questions, quickly took our orders and served them in a timely manner. When my friend inquired about the sauce in one of the dishes, our server made sure to go ask the chef for us and came back with the answer for us. All the dishes here tasted amazingly!! From the plating to the flavors and freshness, Midlina nailed it! We devoured all the dishes coming our ways LOL. There's a speakeasy upstairs which served dessert and drinks with nice ambience and vibe if you want to check it out. We did and had a great time after dinner :) Overall, great dining experience here! I'll definitely come back next time I'm in town!

Yelp
I would say this was more a 3.5 than a 3. I think Midlina has a cool concept, but there are some kinks to work out here. We went for summer restaurant week and it was 2 courses and a drink for dinner for $55 per person.. Well we don't drink really, so we were able to sub in a dessert and a mocktail, so that was nice of them to be accommodating. It is still weird that one of the menu items for restaurant week was a drink..instead of a dessert course but that's just my opinion. My bf got the beet hummus with focaccia, and it was bland and underwhelming. If anything it was not salted or seasoned at all. I got the kofta with couscous which I did like but some bites felt way too tart/sour. There was no balancing of flavors I think. There's a good dish in there, just needs some tweaking. We both got the seafood dinner course and both agreed that was a complete hit. The green pasta sauce was herbaceous and creamy. One ding - one of the mussels my bf got on his plate was closed.. so quality control could be better. The dessert I got was a good chocolate mousse! Not too sweet and the little bit of spice on the white chocolate shards..but the choice of serving dish made it rather hard to eat. It was served atop a nest, within a 'broken' egg shaped vessel. Artsy sure, but a little hard to navigate a big spoon properly to get to the mousse to eat it easily. It was style over function here. I want Midlina to succeed. Service was good, the manager came by to check on us. Water was not getting refilled often enough though. Still going through its growing pains maybe, but there is a great restaurant in the works here once they work out some of these issues I feel.

Yelp
I would definitely return because I believe there is great promise with this restaurant! The flavors of many of the dishes are superb, but I don't believe the menu clearly captures what is happening with each dish. I also feel like the menu is lacking variety in each section. GLOWS: - Service was friendly and efficient -The sauce on meatball entree was so tasty! I believe it should be served as a dip (without the meatballs) and pita bread. -The speakeasy upstairs is a nice touch- the after dinner move is in the same spot, which is nice. There is live singing on the weekends (it was pretty loud down to the dining area just FYI) GROWS: -The pita bread is soooo good, but it's not listed anywhere on the menu. Please add it as an appetizer or a complimentary bread option at the beginning of the meal. -It was extremely cold inside the dining area and the speakeasy. -The chicken entree was listed as roasted (but came with one fried piece of chicken and one roasted piece). I wasnt sure of the rationale behind that. I also thought the roasted piece could have been cooked more. Decent flavors overall but I didnt care for the veggie and fruit combo that came on the side. From the menu description, I wasn't sure what I was getting--- from the potatoes to the "veggies" that came on the side.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time at Midlina. My bartender, Jess, was really knowledgeable about the menu items and drinks. I came during Happy Hour, which is Tuesdays 7-9 PM and Wednesdays 5-7 PM. During Happy Hour, their cocktails are only $12, wine is $10, beer is $4, and their snack items are $13. I am a huge fan of their Strawberry Aperol Spritz ($18). It was refreshing and the perfect amount of sweetness. I also tried their Empress Gin Fizz ($17), which has gin, lemon, rosemary, honey and egg whites. It had earthy notes and the egg whites created a subtle creaminess to the cocktail. To eat, I had their Burrata ($19), which had strawberries, tomato, fennel, crushed pistachio, and a pear balsamic glaze. While I was not a big fan of the fennel (that is a personal preference), I enjoyed having the pita with the creamy burrata, the sweetness from the strawberries, the acidity from the tomato and crunchy texture from the crushed pistachios. I did not seemed to notice the pear balsamic glaze. I am not sure if it was missed or there was not enough added. The overall ambiance of Midlina is beautiful. There is a dimly lit, gothic vibe in the dining room. They have live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays - I was told usually classic rock band covers. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, in addition to Happy hour from 7-9 PM and 5-7 PM (respectively), they also have a $50 pre-fixe menu, where you can choose an appetizer, entree, and glass of wine. On Thursdays, they have $30 bottles of wine. The best part is they also have an Edgar Allen Poe-themed speakeasy upstairs, where I met the bartender Meredith. Their speakeasy, Poe's Tavern, has a different set of cocktails that I will have to come back to try!

Yelp
A truly unique dining spot tucked away in Canton. We visited on a quiet Thursday night and were greeted promptly upon arrival. The ambiance was a whole vibe--modern, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. My husband ordered the strawberry Aperol spritz, which had great flavor, though it leaned a bit too sweet for our taste. For appetizers, we shared the escargot, tacos, and octopus. The escargot was especially memorable--the addition of seaweed gave it a creative twist, and the accompanying sauces elevated the dish. Definitely not your typical escargot. The octopus was fresh and flavorful, though I'd personally skip the yogurt sauce next time. For our main course, we split the skirt steak, cooked medium rare. It was delicious--tender, flavorful, and perfectly paired with crispy fries and a tasty garlic aioli. Dessert was the chocolate mousse cake, which, unfortunately, missed the mark for me. While the flavor was nice, the texture was off--it was dense, sticky, and hard to cut through, lacking the lightness you'd expect from a mousse. Service throughout the evening was pleasant and attentive. The manager even stopped by to check in, which was a nice touch. Overall, this place is a great addition to the Canton dining scene, with just a few quirks. I'm excited to return--especially to check out their speakeasy once I'm no longer four months pregnant! I also hope to try their lobster pot pie, duck ramen, and mango sago if they bring them back to the menu--they sound very promising.

Yelp
Food: global fusion style food. we tried a variety of apps and entrees, all delicious. Menu changes frequently. Don't skip their pita/flatbread - it's life changing. Service: friendly and attentive; the owner is also friendly and genuinely engages with customers to check that you're enjoying your experience. Ambiance: dark and moody! Bonus: Poe's Tower is a speakeasy on the second floor of Midlina. They have awesome live music, great cocktails - definitely on the pricier side for drinks.

Yelp
Checked out Medlina for a bite and we had the Chargrilled Skirt Steak w/ Fries. We indulged in BOTH of their desserts and those were so good! The manager, Joy, coming by our table to check in and chat with was a lovely touch! For the grand finale, we checked out the swanky speakeasy located right upstairs! Poe's Tower -- moody, spacious, and perfect for a chill date night or a couple of drinks.

Yelp
Came to Poe's Tower for a nightcap and had such a great time! The old fashioned was delish. I love the intimate vibes with the signage and couches. It's very romantic and moody. The waitress was super helpful in picking drinks and the bar was super quick with making them! Overall what a cool speakeasy in Baltimore! Need to come back to eat at Midlina!

Yelp
I had very high hopes for Midlina but unfortunately was underwhelmed by my experience. It's a beautiful space right near the corner of Boston St and Aliceanna, with a lovely facade and signage that are extremely welcoming. The interior is beautifully decorated with ambient lighting and great music. Everyone from the hostess to the bartenders to the servers were incredibly friendly! Unfortunately, the food was a let down. The theme of Midlina is bringing together different cultures from around the world for new takes on classic dishes, which is a lovely thought and ripe for innovative takes. However, portion sizes were small and extremely pricey. There was no one dish we got that had a memorable flavor profile and we left hungry. The one upside was that we went on a Wednesday and bottles of wine were 50% off so we got to enjoy a lovely bottle of Bordeaux! The upstairs is a speakeasy that you enter through a secret bookcase (SO COOL!) and I highly recommend that you check it! This was easily the best part of our evening. They serve cocktails and food there and there was even live music when we visited. Overall, I was less than impressed with Midlina but I will return to the speakeasy to try out their cocktails.
google avatar

Jamie S.

Yelp
I was thoroughly impressed with Midlina. I love the concept and the food is super delicious! We had the gnocchi, device, and Kofta meatballs for the starters and churrasco steak, sea bass for the mains. Everything was awesome!!! Its a scratch kitchen and the menu changes frequently so the food mentioned in the reviews most likely won't be available. Service was great and perfectly attentive. The decor is different from other restaurants in the area. Tip: The speakeasy can be accessed through the bookcase. And Thursdays they have $30 bottles of wine. Definitely check it out!!!
google avatar

Julia S.

Yelp
Delicious spot in Canton! Our table shared pork belly and a cauliflower with couscous appetizers. Out of this world! I could have eaten a whole plate of the cauliflower and couscous. Pork chops, steak with chimichurri, and a pasta with shrimp dish. Didn't love the pasta, but everything was great. A decadent sticky toffee pudding with a raspberry ice cream - perfect sweet treat at the end. Staff were friendly and welcoming! The restaurant was cool, but the TV at the bar felt misplaced as this restaurant had too nice of a vibe. After dinner we popped up to the speakeasy for a drink - Nevermore was so cool and there was a singer with a guitar - Would love to go again!

Yelp
Wow! I was so excited to try this place and it did not disappoint. It's dimly lit, kinda dark, really cool art on the walls and excellent customer service. My friend and I stopped in on a Thursday, which happened to be wine night -$30 bottles. I made reservations through the website, and they were needed. At 7:45 there wasn't a seat available in the dining area. Note: the dining area when crowded is LOUD! Whew! The menu changes, what I had my eyes and stomach set on wasn't there (i.e lobster pot pie). So we went with the steak tartare and the tandoori spiced octopus. We loved the octopus (almost ordered 2), we liked the steak tartare. I didn't like the steak tartare alone but on top of the shrimp toast, it was a okay. We both chose the steak skirt for our entrees. I went with medium, my friend went with medium well. I loved her steak, the char on it was perfect. My steak was chewy, flavors present, but chewy. I devoured the beef fat fries and took my steak home. The leftovers were equally delicious. We opted out of dessert but wanted more cocktails so our lovely waitress guided us to the stairs of the speakeasy. It is nice!! Perfect addition to the restaurant. We chose espresso martinis. They were perfect!!!! Zero complaints. Heading back to Midlina's soon..

Yelp
I went to Midlina with friends this past weekend. The food was delicious and really interesting. We had several of the small plates and then shared the Paella . The Ceviche was incredible, meatballs were delicious .. everything was great, including the cocktails. I'm not a big drinker, but I had the Espresso cocktail which was really good and strong. My friends also thoroughly enjoyed everything too. Our server Jordan was great, and both the chef and head of house came by to check in. We were really surprised that it wasn't busier, as our experience was wonderful. After our meal we went upstairs to the Speakeasy "Poes Tower" which you access behind a bookshelf. It was a really cool sexy space, and although we just went up to take a look, would be great to go back in the future.

Yelp
EDITED TO ADD: the owner messaged me to call me a miserable, negative person and to let me know he's been in the restaurant industry longer than I've been alive. He also called me, emailed me, and texted me, I'm assuming using information from my reservation. Lastly, I got notifications that he marked my review as "helpful" and "live this." (???) Honestly feels unhinged and concerning. Abysmal. Had 730 reservation that we arrived on time for. We were told the restaurant was full and we could "be put on a wait list." We agreed and went upstairs to the speakeasy to wait. It was pitch black up there. My boyfriend ran into a table he didn't see and then when the server came over to greet us, he ran into that same table. We were eventually retrieved and taken downstairs when a table became available. The server took a while to come over, but as soon as she did we ordered our meals which consisted of drinks, an appetizer and main dishes. An hour went by and not only had we not received any food, but no one ever popped over to say "it'll be just a little while" or "let me check on your food for you" or whatever. We decided to leave, and tried to hand the lady at the front cash for the one drink we had, but she wouldn't let us and made us wait even longer while she tracked down our server. While we waited, THREE other people at the entrance expressed extreme frustration for having had very similar experiences here in the past or currently. There was one young girl who was also leaving without having been served. One couple who had a reservation were told they'd have to wait at least 40 mins for a table. What's so bizarre to me is that it didn't even feel worth any wait. The decor is laughably cheap, the drink menus were disappointing at best, and the "global" food menu just feels disjointed. Will never return.

Yelp
Unfortunately we won't be returning, at least for the current spring menu (May 2025). We were so excited to try this new restaurant based on the great reviews and proximity to our home, but it was sadly disappointing. Our biggest disappointment and shock was that every single dish we had was soaked in grease. We started off with the kofta meatballs and the pork belly lettuce wraps. Pork belly is very fatty, so fat is expected, but every single piece in our dish was pure gelatinous fat sitting in a large puddle of grease, mixed with soggy fried banana pieces also marinating and absorbing grease. For entrees, we had the skirt steak and the fusilli putanesca. Again, chimichurri sauce is made with olive oil, so oil is to be expected here, but this sauce was as if herbs were first placed on the steak, then oil splattered on afterwards. The entire plate was soaked in oil, and you can see in the images the plain oil splattered around, as the soggy and sad french fries soaked them up. I would suggest asking for the chimichurri on the side if you try it. The fusilli putanesca was also soaked in oil. It could be that the restaurant loves to use a finishing oil, but it was executed poorly and just made the plates sad greasy oil pools. We also had high hopes for cocktails as there is a speakeasy attached. We didn't visit the speakeasy but ordered an old fashioned and the strawberry aperol spritz. Both were painfully sweet for our taste. The strawberry aperol spritz tasted like pure strawberry syrup. And unfortunately, our service was incredibly slow. Our waitress was never anywhere near to refill water or order more drinks. The skirt steak also came out 10 minutes before the pasta, and we couldn't find anyone to request a steak knife so we were just sitting there struggling to cut our steak with the butter knives. We were thinking of dessert, but after waiting for sometime, we decided to make use of our rare opportunity with our waitress to opt for the check instead. As for the ambiance, the decor and dim lighting was nice. However, there was loud speaker bass (maybe coming from the speakeasy?) as if you were next door to a frat house. Overall, this place has a lot to improve!

Yelp
Food was great , server did a great job and recommended me to their speakeasy up stairs for live music that night

Yelp
Best kept secret in Baltimore. Every dish they make is my favorite version of that dish.

Yelp
Visited Poe's Tower above Midlina for happy hour on a Thursday evening (Happy Hour is Tues - Thu from 7-9 PM). There was live music and the ambiance was nice with the moody lighting and spacious area. The drinks were good, but we were charged $12 for each instead of $10 as it says on the menu. Still a good deal compared to the $18/$17 they typically cost outside of happy hour. I would be interested to go back to try the food as well.

Yelp
We had an amazing date night here. The food was amazing, the service was wonderful and the cherry on top was the Speakeasy upstairs with perfect ambiance and live music. It was everything I love in a night out in one place and I cannot wait to return.

Yelp
This was such a cool new place to check out! We sat in the dining room for apps and drinks before checking out the speak easy upstairs. Very cool vibe all around. We got Dutch meatballs and halloumi, and both were tasty. The one thing is they are rather small portions and with those 2 apps, and 2 cocktails, our bill came to $82 which I think is a bit pricy, but still definitely worth visiting!

Yelp
Great service and ambiance. Low lighting set the mood. Keep in mind there is a speakeasy upstairs and the music does get loud.

Yelp
Great vibe, excellent food. They could do better with the bar (no mezcal!) but will chalk it up to them being new. Appetizers were small but all of the entree portions were generous. Pricey but good! Plus the speakeasy above was fun too!

Yelp
The vibes are cool and the speakeasy upstairs has a lot of potential! However, I feel like this place focuses more on aesthetics than quality. I can't speak for the food, but we stopped in for drinks (one at the main bar, and then one in the speakeasy once we found out it existed!) We got the gin fizz to start and it was quite honestly the worst tasting drink I've ever tried--it tasted like cleaner. We neverrrr send things back but it was honestly undrinkable--so my husband and I both asked if we could get something different. The butterfly pea vodka cocktail was an alright substitute. But for $35 for 2 drinks (including tip).... There are so many better places to get a craft cocktail in Baltimore. The upstairs speakeasy cocktail menu was somewhat limited, so I asked if they could do a French 75. It was...just okay. And again, for $38 this time for 2 drinks.... Don't think we'll be back unfortunately.

Yelp
This is a great new spot in Fells/Canton area! The food is so delicious and different! Our server was incredible and very attentive! The speakeasy upstairs is such a cool place and a fun way to end the dinner! The drinks at the restaurant and the speakeasy were so tasty and loved that they had different drink menus for each space!

Yelp
I was visiting Baltimore and had seen that Midlina was a new restaurant that was a must visit! I was sat right away and my sever was Marinell and she was an amazing server. She was knowledgeable about the menu and her recommendations of the ramen, dates, and the meatballs was delicious! I loved everything that I had and the Aperol drink was really good too. Overall, I highly recommend this place and if you have Marinell as your server just know you're in good hands!

Yelp
Our group dined at Midlina on the evening of March 22, 2025. The atmosphere is wonderful. We had the Jamon Serrano & Chips, Seafood Ceviche, Tandoori Spiced Octopus, and Pork Belly Lettuce Wraps for apps. I had the octopus and it was awesome. The other three diners shared the rest and were very happy with the selections. For the main course, we had the Char-Grilled Quail, Fusilli Amatriciana, Skirt Steak, and Paella Mixta. I had the paella and without a doubt - a chef's kiss! Just wonderful. The person who ordered the quail said that it was dry. There were only compliments for the remaining dishes. We each had adult beverages. I honestly do not recall the name of mine, but it was sweet, involved vodka with hibiscus, I believe, and had two so I guess I liked it! There were a couple of negative things. One was that there were only two desserts available that evening. The passion fruit mango cake was just okay. This was a birthday dinner, and I had hoped for chocolate something. The only other negative comment is that our server, while efficient and professional, was a bit "grabby" with removing our dishes. I guess turning the tables quickly is important, but we truly were not there for long - just short of 1.5 hours. Having said all that, I will happily return. I do not photograph my meals. Sorry!
