The food was great, but the service was a little slow. When our server attended us, he was great... It's just that he was gone for long stretches. Other than that, it was a great experience and atmosphere overall. We'll be stopping by again. Recommended.

The interior of this establishment is consistently unkempt, with an overpowering and unpleasant odor that lingers throughout the space. The atmosphere is stiflingly warm due to a complete lack of air circulation, making it uncomfortable to remain inside for any extended period. The beverage offerings are notably underwhelming—not only are the portions served well below standard for their price point, but the quality fails to justify the cost. Compounding these shortcomings is the conduct of the staff, particularly the bouncers, whose demeanor can best be described as dismissive and unnecessarily combative. There is a prevailing attitude of entitlement, as though their positions place them above accountability or basic courtesy. It is evident that a significant recalibration of customer service standards is needed. The staff would do well to remember that it is the patrons who sustain their employment—not the inverse. Overall, this venue falls short on multiple fronts and is in urgent need of both improved management and a renewed commitment to hospitality. Prospective visitors would be better served exploring alternative establishments that prioritize comfort, respect, and value.

An exceptional atmosphere combined with a wonderfully executed and concise menu. The service was just as good as the food, which was amazing! The drinks were delicious and everything we ordered was flawless. I honestly can't wait to go back. Try the elote, and the cauliflower! They were the stars of the night for us along with the carne asada taco which had a beautiful rich smoky flavor.

So above everything else about this place the tacos are amazing! That Jackfruit Tinga taco was superb. My friends and I went for happy hour and then had dinner. The drinks were pretty good and the chips and salsa was nice to have while we chatted it up. I can't wait to go back to try their brunch!

Visited Midnight swim to have brunch at The Bussin Breakfast. Food was delicious 😋, the drinks were good, and DJ LA had the music pumpin! We had a great time, and will definitely go back!

I had the opportunity to experience their Sunday brunch and I was blown away! Chisme gets a 5 star rating for cleanliness, ambiance and food quality! It’s a welcoming environment with great music playing in the background to get you in a great mood. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our server Brittney H. was fast and knowledgeable. She made great recommendations on food and drinks. She kept the drinks coming and the water glasses filled at all times. Now to the good part... the food!!! It was all delicious. Being our first time there we tried a variety of things and the portions were well worth the price. Flavors filled the Señora Chicken Torta, the Chicken and Churros with Fried Jalapeño Chips were fried to perfection. The Eggs Benedict were exactly how you would imagine them and the winner was the French Toast that was shared among the 4 of us and it was plenty! Thick lightly sweetened slices covered with Krispies treats and their creme sauce! They also have Chicken on a Stick that is way better than fiesta! Lightly friend to a crisp perfection! The cheesecake con cajeta is a must try even when you feel stuffed! I will post some pics of the deliciousness that happens at Chisme! I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Stopped in for our company Christmas party. We had it at this location last year also. It's always a good time when coming here. Theres an area to sit outside, inside there is awesome artwork on the walls, and the lighting is dim but not dim enough that you cant really see. I had the cilantro rice, green goddess cauliflower, chips & queso, and a couple of the meats. Everything tasted great. People were snacking off of my plate as they spoke to me. I guess that's ok. If I ever get time to go to a restaurant I would hit up Chisme.

Hip, Latin vibe in a chill place. Happy hour drinks every damn day from 5-7 with FREE chips and queso with salsa and those are great! The outside area is gorgeous for the warm Texas evenings where you can catch a lovely sunset. Inside is clean and modern with a homely touch, and even though the kitchen is very close by, you don’t even notice or mind. The bar area is beautiful, and there’s plenty of seating for everyone. Server Joe was great with the orders! This is a great place to bring work groups or a first date.

On Thursday and Friday nights it feels like a big house party when it's busy. Usually by late hours there is limited capacity inside and out with a pool of people dancing or pushing past to the bar. The music is a blend of urban Latin, some r&b and southern rap depending on the Dj playing. Nice cocktail menu, popular night spot for the 20 somethings

Wow! How does this place only have 2.5 stars? I didn't think it was that bad. I like that they have both an outdoor and indoor place to hangout. Idk if it was the night that I went or if it's just the vibes there, but the music wasn't all that good. When I go to a place like this, I expect high energy, but didn't get that. Me and my friends went inside and out of the huge crowd only a handful of people were dancing. Everyone literally was just standing. So the music is just mehhh. I would say that Thier guava drink is pretty good here! Other than that, I suggest go to this place first, before going to the rest of the bars. This is a good place to start on a night of bar hopping. I hope as more people go out that the reviews on this palace will be better!

Sure, the Churro's are okay. Nothing crazy but able to actually eat. Now let's talk about this "CHICKEN" First off, this is almost like a mystery meat. Defiantly a dark meat, but really fatty and slimy. No chicken texture to it + what taste like a gallon of salt thrown on top of it. How was the service? Well let's say there wasn't any!! Not a "How is everything?" "Is everything okay Over here?" They make you pay for your food first & then ghost you for the rest of the time you're there.

Bouncer mistook me for a woman despite my very noticeable mustache and was extremely rude to both my girlfriend and I after we declined his advances. Wouldn't let us in afterwards. It truly is a shame considering I've heard so much about this place.

I mean what can I say I came to Midnight swim because I thought they had a pool. First off, already a deceiving restaurant name, jokes aside.. The brunch here when it was known as Chisme was on point. I went here for brunch as Midnight Swim and the only option is a breakfast buffet and no menu. You also have an option to get a pitcher of mimosa for $10. I am very big on cleanliness of a restaurant especially the silverware and dishes that you place the food, that enters your body. Walking up to the buffet stand, it was just a hot mess. The tongs for each tray were not placed properly. Some were laying on the table with no napkin or tong holder. It was just overall messy. Not to mention, very scant options to choose from. The one star big decider is the fresh lipstick stain I saw on one of the forks I grabbed. It looked fresh, bright red, like someone just kissed this fork. I told one of the servers, and they didn't really apologize, he just replaced the whole canister of forks. I just felt uneasy after that. I mean I wish I can give this place more stars as the outdoor patio is beautifully decorated and is def vibin' and the fried jalapeños, they were poppin'. But cleanliness and hygiene when eating at a public place, is always first priority.

Terrible place. Awful service. Bad music. It's almost as if this place isn't even trying to retain customers. Sad.

If you want to be in a club atmosphere at 5pm then this is the place for you. Maybe I'm biased because I loved chisme's happy hour but Midnight Swim is a far cry from what this place use to be. The DJ is so loud for such a small place you can't really hold a conversation with anyone. Most of the staff didn't really know much about the drink options or new menu cause they're in transition so they seemed just as confused as we were walking into this bar turned club, it was all very odd. The queso was very watery, elote lacked flavor and the salsa was so bland. Guess we'll have to find somewhere else to chisme :(

The name and pictures are deceiving. However, the concept is kinda cool if your looking for loud music, bar/hang out kinda of scenery (and just turned 21). We came out to find Mexican food and ended up leaving. There is no swimming pool nor servers. But the couple of drinks from the bar were tasty. The cleanliness is questionable. No one cleans between customers, but they are wearing mask, go figure. We are a group of friends that would not recommend this place, nor ever return.

Homophobic. Disgusting excuse for an establishment. Went, paid a 10 dollar cover for shitty bartenders and atmosphere, was able to buy one drink for my partner and I before we were kicked out for being "too drunk." I am so incredibly disappointed with this establishment and their service. It is 2022 and the fact that this establishment is still cool with being outright homophobic towards paying patrons is disgusting. I wouldn't recommend this bar to my worst enemy. Truly. It's embarassing to think that bouncers, bartenders, and management are okay with this kind of treatment towards the LGBTQ+ community. Grow up.

A lot of creepy men who just want to try and grab you. I tried to tell security about a specific man but they sided with him. Not friendly at all, definitely don't recommend for females.

This is a happening bar at night. They have good cocktails - tried the Skinny Dip and liked it. Just wish they had food at night too.

So midnight swim is where chisme used to be. I was aactually told not to go here ahead of time but felt i would try anyway to get my own experience. The set up inside is the exact same as it was when it was chisme. The bar is slow. Get ready to wait for a drink. The prices are expensive for the quality. Overpriiced well liquor. At least i can say i tried it. ‍

This place is the best! I was a big chisme fan, so I was sad to see it go. During the afternoon, they have good happy hour deals and appetizers. I love the drinks, so it's a nice place to go after work or classes. At night, they turn into a bar/dance floor. This is my new favorite bar on St. Mary's. They always have a great DJ spinning recent songs and great throwbacks. The crowd is generally younger than most on St. Mary's, which makes it less creepy for me and my young friends. I love the drinks especially. Pool side is delicious- a nice, refreshing vodka lemonade drink. I also love ocean water. It's coconut flavored, but not too overwhelming. The patio is a great place to rest if you don't feel like dancing/need a bit of air. The only thing I would complain about is it can get really hot inside- I think they need more fans and AC for the nights. I've been several times already and have yet to have a bad experience. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good time with a fun crowd.

Stopped here on a brunch adventure with one of my bff's. Walking up , the dj had the place litty , almost nostalgic of a 90's mtv beach party themed tv show.SERIOUSLY...Chips and guac . Seńor chicken torta was good, Highlight of the trip, the pitcher of Mimosa's , on point!! Chill vibes , good looking people, drake remixes pounding thru the speakers , ok eats, good drinks

Absolutely unbelievable experience at midnight swim tonight. Our waitress outright lied to our table. She claimed it was still happy hour and that we had plenty of time to order drinks. When our tab came we charged full price for every single drink even though the waitress consistently told us that we were getting happy hour specials. When asked about the prices she claimed we had no idea what we were taking about. Cerveceria and rumble are definitely better options that will not lie to you face. Bottom line this is a disrespectful establishment that does not care about their patrons.

We stumbled upon Midnight Swim through a TikTok video and we had a great time! The DJ played nothing but the best mix of songs in both English and Spanish and had us dancing till they closed the place down. The drinks were very tasty and reasonably price!

I was a huge Chisme fan, the food and drinks were always amazing. I figured when Midnight swim took over that the food and drinks would be comparable. I ordered a frozen cocktail and the guacamole. The guacamole has brown parts where you could tell it was old, the flavor was no where near the Chisme Guacamole. The drink was really sweet and watery, the atmosphere was cool but I don't think I'll be coming here often, happy hour specials or not.

Rude bartenders ! Aly & Desiree are extremely unprofessional and are giving Midnight swim a bad rep, horrible attitude and truly seems like they dont want to be working. For the bartenders to be the very first person we see and for them to have a disgusting attitude is just sad. We left shortly after receiving our first drink based on terrible attitudes and rudeness . Hire ppl who enjoy their job instead of slacking bartenders.

A friend invited me to Sunday brunch here when I came into town. It was really good! Only thing is I wish the food and sauces would've been labeled, I couldn't tell what a lot of stuff was but it was delicious either way 8/10, the place has a lot of potential and it's in a great spot

fast service kick ass happy hour for the price and the area and also the fact that the drinks are some of the better ones being served on the strip. every frozen is the bomb. the cocktails are stings but good. chisme could never. i love it here so much. THE CHIKEN ON A STICK IS MEXT LEVEL OMG I ALMOST FORGOT!!!

I've been to midnight swim 3 times now all not by my choice,but meeting friends and have never liked it. Is always so packed there's no room to dance. You are just stuck pressed up against people and really no walking area to move anywhere. Takes way too long for really expensive drinks. My experience last night was one to finally just mark it off my books regardless of others wanting to go. Ordered a cucumber daiquiri (a $7 cocktail in very small cup) and took and sip only to find a baby roach in my drink.

Not good. Sub par buffet that was almost over and offered as a "discount." No thanks. Margarita tastes like sour mix. Staff not friendly. Kitchen staff eating at the bar.
