"This small Japanese grocery store at the bottom of Muswell Hill may be on the limits of Crouch End, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be a destination. There are all the frozen dumplings, sauces, sake, and Hello Panda packets you need to get you through another late night at your makeshift office, and they’ve also got a bustling team of chefs who are lowkey preparing some of the best takeaway sushi in north London. They’ve got the futomaki, uramaki, and hosomaki options you know and love, but it’s really the nigiri and sashimi options you should lead with. The yellowtail, sea bream, sea bass, and fatty tuna is always both faultless and beautifully presented. Or, cute and casual O’s Thai Café opens at 2/3pm during the week, and Curtis Caribbean is perfect for those days when you’ve worked right through lunch, decided to take your last calls of the day whilst walking around Priory Park, noticed it’s suddenly 5pm, and definitely need a couple of festivals, some oxtail stew, and - since the day’s basically over - a bottle or two of Red Stripe." - oliver feldman

We stumbled across this lovely spot in a trendy area of Copenhagen. The sushi is freshly made; you can taste the freshness and it’s very reasonably priced considering this. Staff are very attentive and kind. Ordered a mixture of items and it was all extremely flavoursome and very well presented. Don’t sleep on this great spot. The best sushi I’ve had in a long time!! 5 stars, would 100% recommend

We went for Valentine’s Day and every single member of staff looked after us to a tee!! Got us seated as soon as we got there, allowed us to change our table to make us more comfortable, checked in on us throughout. Food came quickly and was delicious! Water was topped up throughout. Hostess was amazing!! Waitresses were amazing!!! 10/10 would recommend!!

The food here was tasty, reasonably priced and good portion sizes. Everything arrived hot and the waitress who took our initial order was great. However, I think they were training someone new as the service with the subsequent waitress was poor. Very slow and took ages to clear the table. Would be happy to go again.

The food is outstanding. I highly recommend here, its our go to restaurant. The service was exceptional—attentive without being overbearing, and the staff was more than happy to offer recommendations. It’s clear they take pride in their craft, both in the kitchen and in customer service. Overall, I can’t recommend Midori enough. Whether you’re a sushi lover or just in the mood for great Japanese cuisine, this place is a must-visit.

All the foods are amazing with a reasonable price. And the service is really good. The staff is friendly too. My family and I really love their food. Strongly recommend. Will drop by again next time

The flavours of the dishes were high definition and really came through strong with every bite. Teriyaki Chicken was lovely and is must order again next time. Prawn Tempura and Katsu Chicken were very crispy! All the Sushi Rolls were amazing! The menu came with pictures which really helped with understanding what to order. There was also a snapshot of history on the dishes with was a nice touch and added to the theatre of the meal. Food is very filling. The customer service is exemplary. They went above and beyond to create an experience for the customer and I really appreciated this as it was my birthday. Decor was lovely and intimate! Payment quick and easy to splits with the card machine. Not even attached the surface on how lovely this place is. ❤️ Must go back soon!!!

A very nice authentic Japanese restaurant not far from Alexandra Palace. It was quite busy on a Wednesday lunchtime but the service was still very quick. The food was excellent - would recommend the bento boxes (we had salmon and katsu), the wasabi prawns and the spicy beef skewers.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stepped in for dinner last night and we had such a wonderful time here! Our waitress (possibly the owner?) was so nice to us! We ordered chicken katsu curry and bulgogi beef, both were great and tasted fantastic. Would definitely come back here!

Yelp
Popped in for lunch with a friend yesterday. Mondays are always slightly odd for eating fresh fish, as Billingsgate is closed, so how "fresh" can the fish be? you must ask. it was superb. We had salmon, salmon and more salmon. I'd say the miso soup ain't great and the green tea tasted like hot water, but the actual sushi... well, that was delicious. I went for the salmon set, and my friend ordered some individual bits. We both went back for more. Presentation is 5* and the quality was excellent. A very worthwhile stop - skip the miso and green tea tho'

Yelp
This place looks like a japanese place from the outside, and it is, but its also a korean with a variety of the stalwarts like bulgogi, bibimbap, etc. The sushi is good as well, though it wont change your life. The service is great, and it feels an oasis of calm. Really nice, and extremely welcome on muswell hill where the truly horrific Hi Sushi was until recently the only sushi option, and it saves a trip to finsbury park or golders green for korean. Yaay!

Yelp
It is great to have a new proper Japanese restaurant in Muswell Hill. All sushi in The creative sushi range are fantastic ( yes, I have tried them all, and yes, I have been there so many times) Must try is Midori Hill. And the service is very good, owner and owner's wife( chef and the lady at the till) are both very friendly and the warm welcome every time we visit. It's good to finally have a decent restaurant around Muswell hill, so we don't have to go over to Golders green. It is a bit pricey but good for family gather, order lots of different dishes to share. Or try their lunch deal, whole platter of sushi set for 13pounds - value for money!

Yelp
Really good quality. Usually not busy but food is amazing.. Much better than the sushi restaurant over the road.

Yelp
Above average Japanese food in an intimate and pleasant local restaurant that is a bit of a cult secret. The service tends to be a bit haphazard but the food is worth it. Sushi, Teriyaki, miso...

Yelp
The first time I went to Midori , the food was absolutely fantastic. My company were also both very happy with their dishes. I ordered chicken katsu, and the portion was very large,it was a very large piece of chicken,it contained plenty of sauce and it was served with a generous helping of daikon. The servicewas also impeccable. I decided to come back for my birthday meal as I had such a great experience at my previous visit ,and ordered the same dish. However ,it was like setting foot in an entirely different restaurant. The plate the dish was served on was literally half the size, the piece of chicken was tiny, there was literally no sauce, there was no daikon, but instead a small spoonful of tinned sweetcorn, one cocktail tomato and a tiny amount of shredded cabbage !. We spotted that it was a different chef preparing the food, and my company pointed out to me that the chef was picking his nose as he was preparing the food, then after he finished,he continued to prepare the food without washing his hands. Not exactly something you want to see when you are eating a meal just prepared by the same chef. After this very disappointing visit, we shall not be returning to Midori again. Not unless we know that the more experienced chef who prepared the meals on our first visit will be in charge of the kitchen. The owners of Midori need to ensure that all of their chefs prepare the meals to the same high standards, but this time, the food served was beyond poor and left a truly bad taste in our mouths.
