"Fans of tempura will adore this cozy spot, which boasts more than a dozen sushi rolls featuring fried ingredients—or that are deep fried themselves." - Darcie Duttweiler

Our favorite spot! We come here weekly for our date night and it is always a perfect evening. The sushi is fresh and delicious (our favorites are the fatty tuna, salmon, and yellowtail), there’s a good sake selection (try the Demon Slayer!) and the staff is super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The ambience is extra cozy with the decor and good covers on the radio, plus golf on the TV. The ideal chill vibe. Glad this place exists! We’ve been to the fancy sushi spots around town, and there’s a reason we keep coming back here. Highly recommend.

Fresh and Delicious with a delicate and regal atmosphere. Ornate art and beautiful plants and tasteful displays adorn the walls of this quiet hole-in-the-wall sushi spot. Although the menu boasts more than just sushi. It includes savory Korean style bulgogi, a yakitori selection, mochi ice creams, and noodles to satisfy almost any coastal Asian itch you may have. They also have quite the drink menu with many wines , beers, and a beautiful selection of well curated sakes to help quench the thirst of these warm Texas days. We decided to just explore quality of the fish first. We ordered classic nigiri selection of hamachi, sake, fatty tuna, and sweet shrimp. We tried two rolls, the spider crab and the lion king. The nigiri was awesome! Every piece was big and thick and fresh as it gets, with no tank residue or long frozen residue to note. The sweet shrimp came out classic style with the fried edible head and fresh lemon , and both the fried heads and the sweet shrimp itself was divine . Literally made me drool while I was eating it. The fatty tune was garnished with a little bit of fresh , real wasabi and the flavor just absolutely floored us. Not a single bite was less than fantastic. The Lion King roll was also very unique , although I wish it was spicy , it was a perfect blend of creaminess, savory, salty, fatty, and filling. Our server was sweet, gentle, and attentive. We really enjoyed every bit of our time here. Average sushi costs, although, for having no fish tank taste, it’s really a great value. 10/10 would recommend to anyone interested in trying something accessible with guaranteed deliciousness .

This place was amazing!! Our waiter was super nice and he explained the menu when we had questions. The prices for the lunch special were also very reasonable. We will definitely be back 😊

Don’t order ramen, you will end up with a Maruchan ramen. I know how to distinguish them believe me. They didn’t even had chashu so they gave a piece of pork used for donburi… if I wanted a Maruchan I can make it at home and not pay $15 for it. Go to Eurasia for ramen. This place used to be good, unfortunately the quality has decreased dramatically. Tonkatsu was swimming in sauce, and the cabbage was “decorated” with mayo and ketchup? This is definitely not Japanese food… Honestly what happened!? Water and the service was the only 2 things acceptable. Also the walls could be washed and painted they look disgusting.

The food server was prompt and polite. The salad was cold and flavorful, and miso soup was hot and just right, not too salty. I ordered the lunch special redfish and sushi Bentonville box with the extra sashimi combo. The redfish flaked into chopsticks size pieces easily. Every item on the plate was prepared to perfection.

Google
The most expensive soda water and Philly roll in Austin, which isn't even the bad part. Some of the sushi tasted really off and fishy when it shouldn't have been. The only reason they got 2 stars for food is because it was eatable. The bathrooms are disgusting and haven't been updated since circa 1990 with a stinch of a truck stop. The haul way was cluttered with supplies and ingredients. They appear to just be adding layer upon layer of caulking around their fixtures. I eat a lot of sushi and this place is by far the worst I've been to in years. Not to mention, yet another establishment that recommends tip percentages after tax! Highly recommend going somewhere else!

Google
Everything was okay, nothing fancy, decent sushi. Probably won't go back but there wasn't really anything wrong, I would just rather find somewhere with different options that are a little higher in quality. The restaurant was really cute and cozy, the decor was fun. The staff was decent as well.

I live in Florida and am accustomed to very fresh seafood / sushi. Midori certainly does pretty good fresh quality, taste and value for money in middle of Texas. Really recommend Midori :-)

Yelp
We haven't been here in years! To be honest I wasn't excited when I saw the menu but my family wanted sushi and we were in the area. We dined outside at their one table (it's larger though). Their salmon roll sashimi combo was beautiful and plentiful! (See pic) One person got the Unaju (grilled eel) and said it was sublime and amazing. (Pic) Kiddo got 2 California rolls. They were large and made well. (Pic) I had the beef yakisoba. It was fine. I ate it all and no complaints but I wouldn't get it again. We will return I'm sure. Good miso soup and tasty salad dressing too. If you find my review and photos, helpful, please like them!

Yelp
This is a decent place to get sushi. I love the ambiance and the service is ok. I tried the California rolls & tuna rolls, which were good but not as filling or satisfying as I hoped.

Yelp
I usually come here for their lunch bentos which are delicious and pretty good value. I get the spicy pork bugolgi bento, which comes with a pretty good variety of food. I have had their sushi as well which is also pretty good. The service is always great as well.

Yelp
My family loves sushi rolls. We took lunch specials. The rolls were good, miso was fine. Salad with it was good too. Grilled Fish in the bento box was not that great. Yakitori was not tasty as well. We got our starters when we were 1/2 way through the meal. And they forgot about one dish in order. Overall it was an okey experience not the wow feel that I was expecting after reading the reviews.

Yelp
We love this sushi! It's the best around north Austin! Great food, nice atmosphere and decent prices. We'll definitely be back!

Tami W.

Yelp
The food was AMAZING, our server was AMAZING and very nice. The atmosphere is quiet and calm. Really enjoyed my experience here. Definitely recommend, and will be eating here again. Thank ya'll!

Yelp
The food and service are great. They allow custom orders, nice ambiance and jazzy music.

Yelp
I had the chicken teriyaki and tempura udon. The teriyaki was dry, tough and flavorless. They served about 3 tablespoons of steamed rice with it. It seemed like they boiled the chicken breast to hell and covered it with the blandest teriyaki sauce I've ever had. The udon noodles were ok. The broth was incredibly bland though. Absolutely not what I was expecting. They served tempura shrimp in the udon so it was soggy when it got to the table. Best part of the meal was the miso soup they served before we ordered.

Yelp
We love this place. Staff is always very friendly and fish is always fresh. The special rolls are huge, we have to keep that in mind when ordering

Yelp
Surprisingly impressed by this unassuming location! I will say the prices of rolls online made me take a pause (each specialty roll in the $20 range), however these were high-quality large rolls with this pieces of fish on every single roll. We ordered quite a lot which really added up $$$ but myself and my boyfriend definitely agreed we could've ordered 1 less roll with how much they give you. Food: They immediately brought us miso soup on the house. For appetizers, we ordered the edamame and yakitori (assorted veggie and chicken skewers). The sauce on the skewers was amazing! We followed this with 3 rolls: Cherry Blossom, Hot Night, and the Rainbow. All 3 were fantastic and I was, again, very happy to see the size of the rolls and thickness of the fish. While their rolls were high teens - $20s, we could've gotten 2 rolls and been happy vs. other restaurants would be $ lower teens and you would HAVE to get at least 3 rolls. So very worth the extra cost, you will see the quality! Fish was fresh and the tempura roll wasn't over the top filling.

Yelp
The only item I've tried from Midori sushi is the bento box #3 Tonkatsu Bento Box, I really like it
google avatar

J J.

Yelp
Excellent food, well prepared and service is excellent. Not cheap exactly but not terribly expensive either. Lots of tasty alternatives (bento etc) for those who don't care for sushi. Highly recommended!

Kelli V.

Yelp
First of all, customer service is amazing here! I didn't catch his name, but the man who answered the phone was super friendly and informative! I got the Tonkatsu with a side of spicy edamame. It was honestly such big portions, I was in way over my head! But everything was amazing, down to the sticky rice. Tonkatsu was crispy and juicy, the sauce was fire. When I came in the guy with the cool haircut helped me & was really nice, definitely would come back!

Yelp
I was getting a facial near by and needed to get lunch afterwards so I looked on the map and found Midori in the same shopping center. I hadn't had sushi in a while so i went for it! I got a bentobox and wow what a delicious deal! For less than $20 I got salad, soup, two rolls, 2 piece of sashimi and a full entree! AND everything was delicious. Can't wait to go back for another facial and bento box next month!

Yelp
we ordered ordered takeout few weeks ago, and everything was delicious. and Beautiful!! IMO the best sushi restaurant in north Austin, near 183!!!! the tuna tataki was my favorite, and we loved loved the hand rolls. We were fighting for who was going to eat what. The best 80 dollar spent in takeout.
google avatar

Brianne F.

Yelp
It's hard to find really good sushi in the Austin area that isn't overpriced. Midori has creative rolls, great service, good pricing, and the food tastes awesome! Favorite sushi anywhere in Austin.

Yelp
We do love the food here but we have bad multiple experiences now with one server. My husband works a job where when hes busy I dont see him or have any contact with him so when we have 20 minutes 30 minutes 2 hours together we find the time and fun ways to spend it. We love this place we do. But this one male server we keep getting lately makes us so uncomfortable. We like to share Sake while we have some apps and chat. My husband enjoys a couple beers for himself while we dine as well. Sometimes we are on more of a time crunch. Everytime we go we enjoy a few things of sake split. This server has made it a point to humiliate us for drinking and to tell us he is counting what we drink and not okay with it! I have worked in the service industry for many many years and TABC certified over and over again. I can promise you this is NOT normal or okay. Customers should never be shamed especially if they are not acting out of hand. We will sadly not be going back here,

Yelp
I had order take out 40 minutes before they closed. The food was ready within 10 minutes (before the eta they gave) which was perfect! I had order California roll (I'm pregnant so I can't have raw at the moment), miso soup, and the tempura appetizer. Everything was hot and delicious. The tempura appetizer was on point with your sweet potato, shrimp, onion, broccoli, and zucchini. It was battered properly. The California roll was basic, nothing was wrong with it. The miso was good as well, it's about 8 oz. I'll be trying this place again once I'm able to eat some sashimi, etc

Yelp
Used to be one of my favorite places. Since moving away I haven't been here in over a year. Attempted to have dinner here tonight and left after realizing their rolls went from typically $15-$16 for the ones I always liked to now $20-$21.50 per roll. Absolutely not. This is such a shame. Part inflation part just poor price gouging.
google avatar

Bryan M.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of bento boxes, and in that respect they do not disappoint. I only wish they offered them in the dinner service. The place is beautiful and the staff is super attentive. Definitely would recommend for any meal service based on my experience.

Yelp
Oops, reviewed wrong restaurant! Meant to review Momo sushi in the HMart. Can't figure out how to delete this one.
google avatar

Amiee D.

Yelp
This's one of our fav sushi place. We've been coming here over a few years now and the quantity and quality of the freshness never changed. The also have fresh wasabi which is one of the most important factors to determine the restaurant. Besides sushi, sashimi.... They also have tasty hot dishes, noodle soups. Definitely highly recommend!!

Yelp
Excellent Reliable and Perfect Cooking! Great Lunch Specials! My Fiancé and I Love it! Clean cozy and reliably Consistent! Midori is the Superfood.

Yelp
Still one of my go to's, but I feel the need to update as I set the wrong expectations for people I take here. Alright, expectation reset. 1) It's not the best grade sushi in town. Look at their prices. But you get well over what you paid for. 2) Their house roll (the Phoenix) is a cooked and deep fried tuna roll. The tuna is somewhat on the dry side. I personally think it's decent for one of those complimentary rolls, but don't make this your main roll and you should be solid. 3) Their nigiri rolls (fish and rice only) have wasabi under them. I hate wasabi. I always ask them to remove it when I order. If I forget, I suffer having to scrape it off and still get strong wasabi flavor with my sushi. If you don't like wasabi...there you go. Alright. Go forth and happy eating!

Yelp
I wanted some sushi or bento box for lunch. Unfortunately sushi Nini had been closed, I was looking for good sushi place in round rock but could not find the one I like. On the way to appointment we had some time for a quick stop. Although I was not impressed with food at Midori last visit, I wanted to give a try. This time I liked it. Tempura was so fresh, flaky and crunchy. Fish was fresh and Bulgogi beef was tender and flavorful.

John T.

Yelp
One of my faves...sushi rolls, bulgogi...wish I could go more often! Great for take home. Phoenix Roll, Philadelphia and others...

Yelp
I tried this small hole in the wall sushi spot and always come back. The portions are great, the fish is wonderful if you like nigiri, sashimi or raw sushi, and the service is always perfect :) the staff is very nice and the restaurant is so cute and they have traditional Japanese party seating for larger groups !
google avatar

Katie A.

Yelp
Our go to ramen place in the neighborhood! Our kids love! And you can get just broth and noodles which is basically all our kids eat in their ramen and pork belly :)

Joyce L.

Yelp
Our favorite sushi place in the Austin area. Real sushi here! I do wish the wouldn't play the pop music quite so loud as relaxing, quieter music would be better. But a small inconvenience for great sushi and service.
google avatar

Sue.brina M.

Yelp
Love this place and especially the Phoenix Rolls. The staff are always friendly and food is delicious.

Yelp
I've been going to Midori for years Really good Love their food Eat it at least once a month

Yelp
superb little gem... rest lunch ever... intimate dinner... great service... and best is 4 minutes from where I live!
google avatar

Taymn H.

Yelp
My favorite sushi place up north. They have huge portions for the price-so worth it. The atmosphere is cute and quaint with amazing wait staff. I Highly recommend this place. They thief Superman burrito or my favorite is the Heavenly roll (no rice). Date night vibes for sure!
google avatar

Kim B.

Yelp
This place was perfect for a quick lunch and to fill my sushi craving. My husband and I both ordered bento boxes, which offered plenty of food and basically a little personal buffet for us. With each box you are first served miso soup and a little salad as starters. The miso soups could have had more tofu, I only had 1 little cube. I ordered the broiled red snapper and my husband the bulgogi. The boxes came with 2 pieces of nigiri, 4 pieces of California roll and their signature phoenix roll. I mean you definitely get your moneys worth with all this food! It does not disappoint!
google avatar

Rebecca K.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite sushi places. At lunch they have a Bento box that is really good and comes with a lot of food. I also like the Ahi tuna tower, it is my favorite and can be shared with three people and everyone will be full! Their spicy tuna rolls are also great.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Food is great, service was slow. They would get 4 stars had they not told us over the phone we could use the online coupon and then told us we needed the paper one to use it in restaurant.
google avatar

Courtney T.

Yelp
Amazing food, cute atmosphere and melt in your mouth delicious portion sizes. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the long long wait and expensive prices. Will be coming back though.
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
Soooo good. Traditional Japanese environment and although "pricey" - worth every penny. The staff is incredibly kind and I love being greeted walking in. The hand rolls are amazing.
google avatar

Bibin T.

Yelp
Love this place! Great presentation! The waiters took care of me. Bathrooms could get better.
google avatar

Andrew V.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere great quality food and healthy portions. I love this place! One of my favorite rolls is the Lion King.
google avatar

Kimberley C.

Yelp
We have been going to Midori for five years now. It may be located in a strip mall, but it is one of the best sushi spots in Austin. The cuts of fish are generous and the pricing is affordable. The wait staff is kind. The quality is consistent.
google avatar

Nicholas L.

Yelp
I was definitely really drunk but the sake was so good and the food was tasty!! The unfiltered sake was the best

Brandon H.

Yelp
Some of the best value for sushi and shasmi in austin. I've eaten at most places and the value you get is for the lunch specials is unmatched. Love midori and would recommend for take out.
google avatar

Monte R.

Yelp
Meh. Not impressed with Midori Sushi. Average sushi, mid range presentation, service was a mess. I'd put in same level as sushi you get at HEB. Very expensive, contrary to other reviews, it was not a good deal. Thumbs down for me.

Erik F.

Yelp
Horrible sushi with a nasty sauce added that's weird. Salmon is old and bad. They appear to buy all their fish from H Mart anyway. Save your money

Isabella O.

Yelp
We absolutely love Midori!! It's such a cute spot and wonderful food. The Ahi Tower is one of our favorites. Staff has always been kind and attentive.
google avatar

Courtney B.

Yelp
My plus one and I on a Saturday night w no reservations were trying to find a cute but delicious place for sushi and Midori gave us exactly what we needed. We went in hoping for a small wait but upon entry was seated immediately. It's small inside but feels large and open. There are booth options, table options, and bar seating I believe in the back area. We'd never been here but heard great things and we asked the waitress a few questions to help us determine what we wanted. We got 2 sushi rolls, one was the Big Fire Roll and the other the Tsunami Roll. We received miso before the meal which is always a welcomed treat. The portions of the rolls were huge! Not what we were expecting at all and the flavors were on point for each one. My plus one was only able to eat a few rolls of his due to the size of the roll and he ate the leftovers the following day and said they were still delicious. I really appreciated my roll due to the level of spice and flavor. I usually smother my rolls in wasabi and it was flavorful enough without that being added. We both agreed to come back to try some of the other menu items because it all sounded so delicious and if they can do sushi like that, I can only imagine how mouth watering the other dishes are as well.
google avatar

Rain S.

Yelp
I love this place. It's my go to for sushi. Friendly staff and solid sushi. Not much else I can say, it's just good!
google avatar

Samantha F.

Yelp
Best sushi in north Austin. All of their rolls are absolutely amazing. I have almost had all of them.
google avatar

Nikki P.

Yelp
I can't believe I've never reviewed this place. I've been coming here for about 7 years and it's SO GOOD. The fish is very fresh, the prices are reasonable, all the fried things are perfectly fried (light and crispy), and I've never had anything that wasn't great. Also I could bathe in the Midori Sauce. Soup is great, salad is great, rolls are great, shumai and gyoza are great.....place is great. Come here.
