On the Grid : Midtown Greenway

"Consistently ranked among the most bike-friendly cities in America (in spite of our winters!), Minneapolis provides an extensive trail system that enhances the ease and safety of traveling around town by bicycle. The Midtown Greenway is a 5.5-mile recreational and commuter cycling and pedestrian trail that runs East and West through all of South Minneapolis. The trail lies primarily below street level in what was once a Milwaukee Road railroad corridor, and now allows for low-stress, uninterrupted, and traffic-free travel across the city. Highlights along the route include the iconic Martin Olav Sabo Bridge across Hiawatha Avenue; connection to the [Chain of Lakes](www.onthegrid.city/minneapolis-st-paul/uptown-powderhorn/the-chain-of-lakes) and West River Parkway for trail routes to other areas of the city; and [Freewheel Bike Center](http://freewheelbike.com/articles/midtown-hours-directions-pg341.htm), a bike store and repair shop with an entrance right on the Greenway in Midtown offering lockers and showering facilities." - Teagan White

They should add more repair stations across the Greenway it would be great I wouldn't have to walk home in a flat wheel

Great! I love it for bicycle commuting, but I also use it for recreation. Good for walking, running, biking, or skating.
