"A relaxed counter-service spot in Islamorada, Midway Cafe features indoor and outdoor seating, a gift shop with locally-made goods like candles, mugs, and salt scrubs, and is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Grab a wrap (gluten-free options are available) or sandwich and find a seat inside the eclectically decorated dining room or sit out back if the weather is mild. Breakfast is available all day, as are beer, wine, and mimosas — it’s five o’clock somewhere, right? You can’t go wrong with anything in the pastry case, but Manny & Isa’s Key lime pies (available whole or by the slice) are a top pick for tart, sweet goodness with a buttery crust." - Allison Ramirez

We had breakfast here, and the breakfast burrito was plentiful. Bring your appetite if you order this dish. The atmosphere was great, you can sit inside or outside l - there are plenty of tables. The avocado toast was also brilliant. I will be coming back 2 or 3 more times on this 6-day trip here in Islamorada!

Absolutely loved this place! Hands down, the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had it was packed with chicken and incredibly juicy. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying. I also tried the key lime pie, and it was so fresh and delicious, with just the right balance of tangy and sweet. The pancakes were super soft, fluffy, and absolutely amazing! What really made the experience even better was the outstanding customer service. Everyone was so sweet, kind, and welcoming you can really feel the positive energy as soon as you walk in. And the cherry on top? We got our food in just 2 minutes! Fast, friendly, and delicious this place is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back!

Great place to grab lunch/breakfast. My family stopped here on our way back from Key West to Homestead. Has both outdoor and indoor seating. Lots of food & drink options as well. Very fresh food too. I got the ‘Everyone’s Favorite Sandwich’ and it was delicious. My dad got the club wrap and loved it. Right off the road. 10/10 recommend.

I loved the biscuits and gravy and the breakfast sandwich…..the coffee was also excellent, tho place is decorated so colorful, awesome atmosphere!!! Overall, it was a truly memorable breakfast experience that I would highly recommend Midway Cafe!!!

Google
This is a great breakfast place. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. You come in, order and pay, and then find a seat. They'll deliver the food to you seat. We wanted indoor seating but all the tables were already full and it was a Saturday morning before 9am. There still was plenty of seating outside, however, some was in the sun. We were able to snag a table in between to trees, so we were lucky. The food was great. I had the Green Eggs (Croissant) Sandwich. It was delicious. Very filling. And great portions and quality for the value.

Google
Highly recommend this spot! Food is well priced compared to other breakfast options and so good! The power oatmeal was a huge portion and tasted great. So did their breakfast sandwiches. Also nice to have seating inside and outside. Will definitely come back here again!

Google
Highly recommend! Great space and very welcoming staff. Breakfast was great. I had the sausage muffin and turkey bacon. My husband really enjoyed his biscuits and gravy. Seating inside and out. Dog friendly space. Parking front and side on lot.

3/14/35—My husband's friends, who had been staying at our rental house, were leaving today. While my husband and some other friends rented a sailboat and left around 7am , I decided to join our two friends for breakfast before they headed out. I had my heart set on a Cuban restaurant, but we couldn’t find it. Instead, we stopped at this place simply because it was nearby and convenient for them. I wasn’t thrilled about the change of plans—when I’m in Florida, I like to have a proper Cuban breakfast. As soon as we walked in, the first thing I noticed was the line. Here, you order first, then they bring the food to your table. On the way to the register, there were little souvenirs for sale—cute trinkets and framed signs with funny and wise advice such as “we don’t have WiFi here “ took spices of it . The menu was charming, well-organized, and despite having a lot of options, it wasn’t overwhelming. As I got closer to the register (which didn’t take long), I spotted a bunch of fresh bananas. For a brief moment, I felt guilty—I should have been thinking about ordering a smoothie, but I didn’t. The bananas remained there, looking abandoned and slightly betrayed. I ordered scrambled eggs with a pancake and ham, along with a café con leche, which, I have to admit, was quite good. My friends' meals also looked great. The total for the three of us was around $72. The restaurant has a small indoor seating area but plenty of outdoor seating. Just as we were finishing our meal, a septic and plumbing truck pulled up, and they started some kind of cleaning. Thankfully, it was at the end of our breakfast—great timing. There were also way too many people with their dogs. Now, I love dogs, and they were all adorable, but that was the problem—they were too cute. I kept getting distracted from my meal. In the end, although this stop wasn’t part of my plan and I wasn’t too happy about it at first, I was pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
Had a great experience at this location. They had great options in the ready to go food by the register. They had great drinks and menu items. The prices were perfect for the quality of food that they gave. Would recommend recommend this to anyone. I was in the keys for a bachelorette weekend and we were so happy with the location that we every morning for breakfast and coffee!! Could not recommend more

Camila L.

Yelp
Great place To grab a quick bite. Would recommend if you are going to be shopping there Try their dips

Parvathi M.

Yelp
Lovely cafe with a cozy ambiance, both indoors and outdoors. The avocado toast was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The seating options make it a great spot to relax and enjoy good food. Highly recommend for a chill meal or coffee stop! Very quick service and staffs are very friendly.

Yelp
Stopped here to try a piece of key lime pie during my trip through the Keys. The pie filling nice and tart and was made with pastry crust instead of graham cracker. I also ordered a spinach and cheese croissant and a ham and cheddar croissant. The croissants were obviously reheated in the microwave when served to us. The ham came with the wrong cheese. The spinach and cheese one was almost inedible. I could not distinguish the flavors but they tasted off.

Brenna F.

Yelp
Stopped here because we saw it had great reviews. The place itself is so cute, tiny with a cute tropical vibe. The service was great and very efficient. After we placed our order it was brought out to us within 10 minutes. The food was a bit underwhelming. The waffles were a bit soggy and the strawberries didn't look great with quite a few brown spots. The Santa Fe wrap was pretty bland and it felt like something was missing. The smoothie and lemonade were great though. Overall pretty decent for a quick meal but it wouldn't be my first choice to go back to.

Yelp
Never have I ever been so lucky to be within a short stroll to the best breakfast/lunch/pastry spot in Islamorada. Midway Cafe gets my day started right. Beginning with a perfect brew of hot black coffee to the tough decision as to what to eat. They offer a variety of healthy and not so healthy dining pleasures for breakfast and lunch and their fresh baked pastry case makes it tough to say no thank you. Friendly staff, clean indoor/outdoor dining space with a casual vibe. I'll be back every morning until I regrettably head back home. Day 1 Egg Pita packed with spinach, egg and diced tomatoes. Husband ordered a plate of guilty pleasure, biscuits and gravy. So delicious! My fork was over there more than it should have been. Day 2 The breakfast burrito with sausage was quite tasty and I couldn't finish it. The husband was very happy with the skillet your way. His only regret was not ordering his eggs runny. The single pancake was to satisfy my craving for a sweet bite and it did satisfy. Day 3 The meat lovers omelette was packed with ham, sausage, bacon with American cheese and caramelized onions which is plenty big enough to share. We opted to share this morning because we had to have the biscuits and gravy again. The biscuits are delicious but that sausage gravy, I wanted to order a side of it to put on my eggs. Day 4 Going home today so we needed something to eat on the road. We opted for the ham and cheese croissant served warm. Delicious and see you next time friends at Midway Cafe.

Yelp
Super cute little spot! You order online and they bring the food to you. Really stopped here to try their key lime pie and to be honest I wasn't too impressed with it. It was soo sour. I know it's maybe of limes and some sourness is expected but this was very sour each bite made my jaw clench, other than that the food was good and the staff for super friendly and helpful. Would definitely stop by again just for food or to try other baked goods.

M T.

Yelp
We stopped in for breakfast one morning and got the meat lovers omelette, oatmeal and sausage patties. The omelette seemed like it was super thin and could've used another egg and a side of home fries with it instead of having to pay extra, but it was stuffed with plenty of meat. The oatmeal was just average and overflowing with raisins and made it seem like you were eating a bowl of raisins. The service was good.

Jade M.

Yelp
Such amazing service! You go up to order instead of being waited on (which is more efficient). Food was ready in what felt like minutes. The woman who took my order was so welcoming and helpful. The food itself was pretty good. I loved the unique taste of the key lime honey mustard. Didn't really care for the pita chips though. They have a wide selection of interesting looking coffees and smoothies that I hope to try in the future!

Tracy W.

Yelp
First stopped by to buy the frozen Keylime pie. Wow! Best ever. Had mile high meringue and the pie itself was heavenly. Came back the next day for breakfast. You order at the counter and have your choice of seating inside or out. Ordered caffe latte and a Mediterranean omelette. Coffee is excellent as well as the omelette. Cant go wrong here. Service with a smile. Prices are also reasonable. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
This was a great coffee to stop by on Islamorda. The Tropical Macchiato was so good and tasted just like the keys. The Key Lime muffin had an interest aftertaste but due to the fact that they made the muffin fresh there and with real ingredients and not artificial flavors.

Sarah C.

Yelp
This place was one of my favorites for breakfast, on our trip. Staff is super friendly and helpful with ordering. Food items were phenomenal and there's indoor outdoor seating! Lots of people ride bikes here in the morning. I'd highly recommend a visit. Greta options for kids with smoothies and tons of pastries or a wonderful pancake breakfast with fruit. It was lovely and reasonably priced!

Valerie D.

Yelp
Absolutely love this Cafe. It's a 23yr old landmark. Owners are wonderful and so it the food. It's a.must stop when your in the keys

Yelp
One day during our vacation to Key West, we decided to take a road trip over the bridges to see the other islands/Keys. We heard about this place and are very glad we stopped in. It had an island vibe to it due to the bright colors... Very cute and charming. When you enter, you grab a menu and order at the counter. The staff brings the food out to you. Their breakfast sandwichea are delicious. I had the Green Eggs Sandwich. I loved every bite! My hubby and son both enjoyed their food too. The restaurant is not big - maybe 5-6 tables inside, more outside. They have a cute souvenir section. I bought a cute yellow mug with restaurant's name on it. The service was mostly friendly. The woman behind the counter was not pleasant like our server, Morgan. Maybe she needed a day off. Shout out to Morgan! Other - there is a clean bathroom (1). You have to walk outside to get it. There are parking spots in the back of the restaurant. I would give this place a 4.5 - 1/2 a star off simply because I think customer service is so important. But you can't give halves so I will round up due to the amazing breakfast sandwich I had and sweet Morgan.

Erin K.

Yelp
Foodies, bring yourselves here! Full bakery with croissants, pastries, etc, amazing choices for breakfast and yummy choices for lunch, and superior coffee choices! Plus, there are plenty of options for fresh smoothies! When headed to Key West the next time, I can't wait to stop here and be wowed again! Wait staff, greeters, cooks, & order takers are all so polite!

Sarah W.

Yelp
Cute ambience and very friendly staff. Tons of outdoor and indoor seating. Also have plenty of different types of menu options from sandwiches to a huge selection of bakery choices. My husband got pancakes and I got an egg sandwich and a smoothie. My son got a banana muffin. Prices are also reasonable. Love Midway Cafe!

Penny T.

Yelp
This cafe has very good coffee options...a bit pricey but is supporting local which is a good thing. We ordered one hot caramel coffee and one cold cafe mocha. Both coffees were very good but the ice one took about 20-30 minutes to finally get cold which was a little disappointing. We also bought an oatmeal cookie for later in the day on the road. When we snacked on it later it was very good... love homemade treats. Nice and moist the way we like it. Again, pricey though...$2.50 for one cookie. We would probably skip that next time. Ordering is easy at the counter but our to go order took longer than we expected...10-15 minutes for just 2 coffees. They must not have someone just making coffee drinks. We would return again if in the area, though, and maybe try breakfast there.

Yelp
Yet another great review. Stayed closeby overnight and stopped in for breakfast. I'm on a mission to prove to myself that there really IS good food in the Keys! My wife and I were really overwhelmed by this gem, which might be easily overlooked by someone traveling to Key West. Midway (get it) through the Keys is this cafe. Great food, I mean really great food, wonderful baked goods including their own bread, and friendly service. Oh yes, and very generous portions! The vibe is very "Key West", and comfortable as well as clean. We LIKE this place, and guessing you will too.

Brooke L.

Yelp
Skip the line and order ahead on their website. Their food is so good and fresh! The skillet, everyone's favorite sandwhich and Greek wrap are great.

Denise O.

Yelp
Fantastic! This place has an awesome selection for breakfast. We tried the meat omelet, the two egg breakfast with sausage links and potatoes (real red skins), three different muffins, and coffee. Everything was fantastic and I highly recommend this place for breakfast.

Jacki R.

Yelp
Great food! We had a Very Berry smoothie with peanut butter and it hit the spot. We also split a Santa Fe wrap. It was so flavorful. We chose the pasta salad for the side, I liked the fresh cucumbers and tomatoes diced up in it. Lots of seating outside and seating inside too. The key lime pie looks beautiful and delicious. We got a life to go. The meringue on the pie is tall and I can't wait to eat it!

Alicia A.

Yelp
This place is adorable with lots of yummy food options. The also sell really cute headbands, mugs and some alcoholic drinks. Service was really fast and i enjoyed my egg and Brie sandwich.

Sandra P.

Yelp
This is a must when we run down to the Florida keys. The avocado toast is my personal favorite.

Greg T.

Yelp
Have visited numerous times and everything is served fresh with great service! The food is amazing! I've traveled 47 states and 17 countries and have yet to find a sandwich shop that matches their food! Excellent!

Sheila O.

Yelp
We had such a great sandwich here. Very easy dining. Sweet staff . Very pretty casual . Wonderful key lime pie.

Brian M.

Yelp
We have been dying for a good bagel and breakfast sandwich in the Keys and we FINALLY found it. Incredibly cute cafe along your drive on Overseas highway. The bagel sandwich was delicious, with a tasty everything bagel and a yummy fried egg with sausage. Only spot for bagel sandwiches now!

Diane S.

Yelp
This was my spot during our week in islamorada. Breakfast and lunches were amazing. Outdoor seating was darling. And the staff were so sweet and helpful. The best thing though, was the key lime pie. Omg, the best I've ever had. That banana chai was pretty dang good too!

Jason G.

Yelp
Some of the best breakfast in the keys. Awesome little place in islamorada. Service is awesome with very friendly staff.

Nata M.

Yelp
I loved loved the key lime pie. Definitely, a must purchase! One slice was not enough. I will have to come back tomorrow.

Jonathan W.

Yelp
Very cute shop with excellent coffee, bakery, and a friendly staff. Definitely try the cafe con leche.

Tima C.

Yelp
On our way to key west we stopped with my friend for breakfast! It's a small but very cozy place with good food and reasonable prices! I had an omelette and my friend had a burrito, also we had the key lime pie, it was ok. The service was also pretty good, you have to order inside, pay and then someone will bring you the food to the table.

Jamielee T.

Yelp
Excellent coffee, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches! Truly creative ideas, wish I was able to try them all. The Egg & Brie Sandwich was extremely satisfying, with the rich golden yolks from perfectly cooked over-medium eggs coalescing with the Brie and bacon down the ciabatta roll. The key lime pie is the best I've had on my trip, super creamy, sweet and tart. I wish I bought a whole one to take home. Although the line was long, the wait was surprisingly short, maybe 10-15 minutes. Genuinely nice, patient staff. Authentic Keys atmosphere with iguana in the trees!

Stephanie A.

Yelp
I cannot recommend this place enough. It is super rustic and cute in all of the ways you expect in the keys. Service is exceptional and the food equals that. Order at the counter and they bring to you at your table either inside or outside. Wonderful little bakery selection as well.

Claire S.

Yelp
Midway Cafe is a cute little spot right by a split in the main road. I came only for a coffee, which I honestly thought was very average, but maybe I didn't order the right thing. The menu had great options, and the food that came out looked great. Next time, I will give this place another shot and order some breakfast.

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Great menu with a variety of items. The Mediterranean omelette and the ham and Brie sandwich was great. Lattes were weak and tasted watered down. (Seems to be a trend in the Florida keys) service was quick.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Some of the best food outside of Key West, in the keys. Possibly the best breakfast all around in the Keys. The coffee was so good we bought some to take back to NYC. Worth the wait driving from Key West to MIA. I had an overflowing egg sandwich, gf bread to boot! Our meals were special and the atmosphere is quaint and local. Thank you Midway! We will be back.

Alexis T.

Yelp
An absolute must in a key largo! It is the cutest breakfast/brunch spot. It has beachy and pastel interior of the keys. I went with a few friends and everybody loved their food. I ordered the avocado toast with over easy eggs on sourdough. A few of my friends ordered the Brie sandwich and were blown away. The coffee is also very good and comes in cute glasses/mugs. I've been to midway a few times and it's very consistently good. The staff is very friendly and food comes out quick. They also have very cute kitschy items to buy from their store. Totally recommend this spot.

Donna L.

Yelp
4 of us stopped for breakfast after leaving Key West. We were all happily impressed in the efficiency and quality of the food and the service. Every employee was so pleasant and helpful. The line was out the door but moved fast. The coffee and food came remarkably quick. And it was all excellent! Everything was hot and tasty! This is a definite stop!

Dwayne W.

Yelp
Wife says the reason they didn't get 5 stars is because the sausage tasted weird. I had the egg and brie along with the pancakes. They were both great. Their coffee and tee drinks were also great. The place is tiny with only a few indoor tables. There are a lot of outdoor tables. We were there on a Saturday morning and it was PACKED. Be prepared to wait. The process is...stand in line to order at the counter then go find a table to sit at. PLEASE don't take up a table until you have ordered. This causes a shortage of tables. We will definitely go back.

Pete S.

Yelp
I actually ate there a little over a month ago, but have been busy. However, I enjoyed the place so much, I definitely want to leave a review. It was the last morning of our stay in Islamorada and we were looking for a good breakfast to start our roadtrip back to Minnesota. My wife found this place because they had lots of gluten free options. Since I have Celiacs disease, we're always on the lookout for good places with lots of options. Midway did not disappoint! I ordered the Skillet Your Way with all breakfast meats, over easy eggs, cheddar cheese and red onions and was impressed with the portion size for the money. The food was delicious and definitely gave me a good start to the day. I also ordered a GF Key Lime Pie to go and put it in our cooler. Ended up eating it the following morning for breakfast and it held up and tasted great! There were lots of other GF options, but when in Rome... With a great variety of food items, something for everyone in your crew, and a delightful staff, this is a must stop in the Florida Keys! I highly recommend it!

Amanda Q.

Yelp
This place has been around forever. I remember coming here almost 15 years ago. It is a local staple. The food is just as good as it always was and they now have vegan and gluten-free bakery options which is awesome. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito which was enormous and only $12 such good price for how big it was. I had the protein oatmeal without the chocolate chips. It was so big I couldn't finish it. Everything was absolutely amazing. We will definitely come back another morning while we're on our trip. The service is very friendly and quick and they bring the food out to you. Ambiance is very chill like most places in the keys - must visit!

Angela A.

Yelp
Worth the wait if you get here and there's a line. It moves quickly, patience pays with wonderful food! Our breakfast was just what our hungry stomachs were wanting before a long drive home. The breakfast croissants, the almond pastries, the cinnamon rolls, the cafe con leche! Everything was spot on! Looking forward to our next visit!

William T.

Yelp
Great place to grab coffee and an amazing breakfast. You can't travel through the keys and not stop here.

Hugo S.

Yelp
Fast service, great food! It might don't look great from outside but it's a great inside, just the way a brunch place needs to be. Easy clean great food. Definitely a awesome place that we would come back

Suzanne B.

Yelp
The aptly named Midway Cafe is approximately halfway down the Florida Keys. My husband and I stopped in for brunch as we made our way towards Key West on our recent trip to the area. After pulling into the parking lot, we entered the quirky but inviting cafe. There was already a small line, but we quickly decided on our meal, ordered, and headed out to a table. While we waited fir our food, we enjoyed people watching as other guests arrived and cars passed by on the Overseas highway. The egg and cheese omelette with a side of fruit hit the spot for me when we visited. Savory from the omelet, sweet from the fruit, all washed down with some local coffee. Midway Cafe makes the perfect pit stop on your drive. So stop on in and top off your tank while you're in that neck of the woods!

Kayleigh B.

Yelp
Food was awesome and fresh ! Came here for breakfast twice while staying and town . Coffee and chai tea was also very good !

Gianna W.

Yelp
Stopped here on our way back from Key West. Loved the name and idea. Workers were super friendly and helpful, as we had never been there before. Food was very good for our brunch/lunch. Some of the things we got were the green egg sandwich, california club, club wrap, build your own egg sandwich, and pancakes. The everything was yummy! Pancakes were sooo light and fluffy. We also bought some pastries to take home with us. Also love that they were gluten free and vegan friendly! Very good place to stop!!

Hanna H.

Yelp
Super cute and genuine cafe! Really good food. I loved their key lime especially. Also, very good service. They were really nice! Beautiful patio you could sit in.
