"Classic country establishments are found all over Georgia, and Midway may be the best place to get a taste of homey Southern comfort food in Alpharetta. Located in a charming old house along Highway 9, this restaurant is just like eating at your Southern grandmother’s home on Sunday afternoon. There’s even a meat and two option with cornbread (Think country fried steak or fried chicken with sides like squash casserole, turnip greens, and broccoli salad.) Breakfast is also served, starting at 6 a.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. on weekends." - Alex Leo-Guerra

This is our second time here. The first time was months ago and delicious. The first time made a good impression so we decided to come back. I got the Sunrise Breakfast Special. The bacon, biscuit, grits, eggs, and pancakes were delicious. But the hash browns were oily. Drenched in oil. I was super hungry and I ate all mine but it wasn’t like any other hash browns I have had before. The top was crispy. But the inside was soggy and tasted like soggy strips of potato. I saw some oil drain from the hash brown and it got on my biscuit a little. We also got the Country Omelette. The picture shows all the liquid that seeped from it. Service was good because the issue was taken care of by replacing the omelette. The atmosphere is authentic and a chill place to eat for breakfast. We sat inside but they also have a patio with a cute cat outside.

This is Forsyth County’s best breakfast, by far. They have an extensive breakfast menu, but my favorite is the one egg (or two egg) plate. The egg plate comes with 4 pieces of bacon, an egg cooked your way, a bowl of grits, a bowl of gravy and a biscuit. The biscuit is large, buttery and crumbly. The gravy is creamy and peppery. The grits are some of the best I’ve ever had. Additionally, they are very affordable with our 2 meals and drinks costing under $20. The staff is super friendly and the service is very fast. A word of advice - on Saturdays, I recommend you get there before 8:30 to avoid having to wait.

Serving up home-style country comfort food since 1994, Midway Meal provides a casual and laid-back dining experience both inside and outside, all at reasonable prices. The yeast rolls and cornbread, while nice, could use an upgrade to real butter instead of whipped spread. The standout dishes include a delightful broccoli salad and a generous helping of freshly made fried onion rings. The one-pound hamburger steak, adorned with grilled mushrooms, green bell peppers, and onions, is a massive and flavorful feast. The fried pork chops, both sizable and tasty, paired excellently with the fresh collard greens and black-eyed peas. The attentive service added to the positive experience, and we left with enough for dinner tonight. Midway Meal proves to be a great little eatery, weaving in a rich local heritage into every bite of its comforting dishes.

My husband had been promising to take me for a while to Midway Meal House but we hadn't gotten around to it. My daughter was visiting and she likes good southern cooking, this seemed the perfect opportunity to go. We sure made a good call! She was delighted, as were we all. It is just as advertised. Good food and great service in abundance. I'm over 70yrs old and it felt like I was in my grandma's country kitchen for a great Sunday dinner. If this is your vibe, you are in luck. Check the times and days so you don't miss out. Only open for dinner Friday and Saturday. And close at 8:pm.

(6/2024) While the food is pretty good and portions are a good size, the restaurant is dusty and dirty. They need to paint the walls and clean the dust off the floor vents and bottom of curtain valances.

I have seen this restaurant many times while passing by highway 9, always thought why they are so busy as i have seen so many cars parked all the time. We thought to try for breakfast on my birthday. The first impression when we entered was very traditional style American restaurant. The staff was super nice too. We ordered most of the breakfast items, steak n eggs were good, quite big portions to be honest. Fajita omelette was good as well. Kids loved pancakes and hash browns. Though most of the things were good portion but the prices were really not high, they are pretty fair I would say. Overall good experience, will come again for sure. Suggestion for owner: Please add cappuccino to your menu. Suggestion for Customers: The breakfast meal portions are pretty big, so try to share if you can in family otherwise lot of food might get wasted if you are not a heavy eater. Flavor - No Star - 6 / 10 Authenticity of Flavor - Star - 7 / 10 Cleanliness - Star - 7.5 / 10 Service - Star - 8 / 10 Value for Money - Star - 7 / 10 Above format would be best to justify my review so i will hopefully continue to keep this for all my next reviews.

We were so excited to find a southern cooking restaurant, but this place was not good. The food here gave off the impression that someone knew what they were doing, but stopped caring long ago. The okra in the fried okra was mushy and the breading lacked any flavor and seasoning (including basic salt). Black eyed peas were clearly canned and unseasoned. Mashed Potatoes, country fried steak, and Gravy were okay. Fried catfish were crunchy on the outside with fish that was unnerving cold and disintegrated in your mouth. My husband, who has a stomach of steel and will eat anything, ate several bites trying to convince himself the fried catfish was ok. After I tried a bite and was worried about getting sick from swallowing it that he also gave up and couldn't eat anymore. Biscuits and Cornbread were flavorless, and I'm pretty sure the Biscuits were just prefab frozen ones... and not the good ones. We threw away all of the food and drove up the street to Publix.

Google
Walked in for their breakfast and was welcomed by a super sweet southern lady. The environment reminded me of a diner in a small town. Great people and amazing food (and surprisingly cheap). Their breakfast and lunch menus are amazing! Definitely going back to try their dinner next time I can

Yelp
good food, super cheap, cute atmosphere, service is hit or miss id say. it is exactly what you would expect from looking at it.

Briana S.

Yelp
Comfort food in a comfy setting. I went here during their breakfast hours, and wow! That was some good home cooking. We got the Sunrise Breakfast Special. It was only 10.85 for two pancakes, sausage, hash browns, bacon, toast, and grits. It's a good bang for your buck. Probably the cheapest breakfast my husband and I have paid for while being out and about. You're able to seat yourself when you arrive and your waiter will come up to you quickly. I think this is a great breakfast spot. I can't wait to come in and try their lunch menu. Also, keep in mind this is a small business. I didn't find a website anywhere but they do have a Facebook page that seems to be pretty up to date. So if you need to double check if they're open, I would check there.

Juli W.

Yelp
I love the Meal House - great breakfast spot! Been in Cumming forever. They serve up good "Home Cooked" meals in a nice southern atmosphere.

Sonya C.

Yelp
They have the best yeast rolls outside the Perimeter. They serve up very generous portions.

Steve V.

Yelp
It's like you have been transported back to 1994 when you enter this place. I mean for the price, it is tough to beat. The setting is an old house and I have sat both outdoors on the wrap around porch and indoors at one of their many tables. The clientele is mostly older folks, but there are some younger folks that work here. The menu has all your favorite breakfast fare. My favorite has been the beef hash and egg breakfast. It is a large portion and was a bit salty, but otherwise a full, filling meal. The gravy here is amazing and has a solid, thick consistency. The service is good, and they really leave you alone to chat, very good at "reading the room" or your "table" in this case.

Cathy P.

Yelp
Great for breakfast too!! Now I need to go for dinner! I had over easy eggs with corn beef hash. My friend had the fried pork chops and I think I'll have to try that next time! The wait staff are awesome, and the food is always good. Can't go wrong here.

Yvonne W.

Yelp
After years of trying to get my husband to visit Midway Meal House with me, he finally relented today, but boy, was I sorry! We could hardly eat any of our food. He had the ham steaks, and I had the large fried shrimp. We chose different vegetables to share. The corn muffins came out first--they were warm and yummy. Then the food arrived. Both meals were by far the worst we've had in a long, long time. The ham and shrimp were barely edible, and the veggies not edible at all. They tasted like they came straight out of a can--no seasoning, no warming up. Our waitress assured us that every dish is "homemade" but not by any Southern cook I've ever known, and I've lived here all my life. We won't be going back--ever!

Yelp
Great. Reliable and consistent.wish they would expand closer to Roswell. If there is a similar type restaurant in Roswell, I'd like to know.

Scott R.

Yelp
Have eaten here in the past and enjoyed it. Today I sat for 15 minutes and no one even greeted me.

Nancy Shaddix W.

Yelp
We have eaten here for years. Always enjoyed the country cooking, from an independent business. We like FARM FRESH! And normally found it here at reasonable prices. Today the food was just so so but the room was very warm, admittedly it was a HOT DAY! We were told the air conditioning was not working properly, The tables were all packed as usual. I assume it still has the same owner and staff on hand. Everyone there have always been very attentive in the past. I'm sure the heat was hard on the servers as well! Perhaps they needed to get a repairman or some fans. We decided to wait for cooler fall weather before our next stop back in. Don't count them out! We have had WONDERFUL meals here in the past!

Linda K.

Yelp
Good food but service was VERY slow. Took 35 minutes to get our food. We were here for breakfast. The sausage is yummy and spicy. Gravy is very good. Biscuit delicious. Pork tenderloin over cooked. Syrup for the French toast was cold. Can't completely recommend due to the slow service.

Kat D.

Yelp
Not worth eating here unless you like food that would be served at a nursing home. In the car leaving my husband said "I can't remember the last time I was this disappointed in a meal." We love good southern home cooking, and this place just fell short. Service is very good, friendly, prompt, attentive. The staff certainly fit the theme of a southern home cooking restaurant. They knew patrons by name, call you sweetie, and make sure to give you everything you need. The food came out very quickly. I had the country fried steak with gravy. It was decent, but I wouldn't seek it out. The Mac n cheese was gross and flavorless. I'm not sure it even had real cheese in it. The Mac and cheese was cold on top when I got it. The rest was lukewarm. The green bean casserole was very unique. It had sliced almonds, onions, pimentos, and a very thick sauce that almost tasted like gravy. Husband had the chicken, Mac and cheese, and fries. Wasn't thrilled by any of it. Meals come with your choice or rolls or cornbread, or one of each. I would skip the dry cornbread and get the rolls. I overheard a waitress say that you can order a half portion of something, maybe the hamburger steak?

Jeff C.

Yelp
Fried Chicken- My family went here after my niece's soccer game at Webb Gin Park. We were raised on southern comfort food so collectively we thought this restaurant would be a good choice in the Alpharetta area. I ordered the Southern Fried chicken with green beans and cucumber-tomatoes salad . Sweet tea and a fresh biscuit complements the meal as it was hot that day. There was outside seating and the inside decor was definitely had an old south house feel like you find in Helen and the North Ga area. My family agreed that the food was hot and delicious! I can recommend this restaurant for down home fresh food like the now defunct Folks restaurant use to provide.

Nicole F.

Yelp
Been coming here on and off for years for dinner and it's always quite good, some of their dishes they really hit out of the park. After viewing the breakfast menu online I was really excited to try it. They don't allow online orders so I started calling just after 10am, but their phone line was constantly busy. I tried for almost an hour to get through and by the time I finally did, it was 11:02. The woman said they had stopped serving breakfast at 11, so I explained, but she would not take my order. I protested that I'd been trying to get through, and she hung up on me. I'm the daughter of a restaurateur and I don't care if you have Michelin stars -- that is no way to treat a customer. I wound up trying A&M Kitchen, which is a lot closer to me, and it was very good and a lot closer to my house. Midway has lost my business.

Erica B.

Yelp
Food is terrible. Food is not homemade, rather from a can. My husband ordered a veggie plate with cole slaw, squash casserole, macaroni and cheese, and cream corn and I had fried chicken mashed potatoes & gravy and macaroni and cheese. My husband is like a garbage disposal, he'll eat anything, and he could not finish the food. While the food was terrible, the service was good.

Ted H.

Yelp
Busy Southern restaurant located right off Hwy 9. My first recommendation is to park as soon as you can find a place or you will be backing out and trying to turn yourself around. Good food, reasonable prices but the service was slow. Mother's Day weekend combined with restaurants having a hard time filling positions created about a 45 minute wait. The food was excellent so plan on giving this place another chance to prove themselves. Great breakfast menus with plenty of options under $10.00. I had two eggs, sausage patties, grits, biscuits and gravy and French toast all for $8.65.

Jacqueline D.

Yelp
Southern Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans ....biscuits are yummy!! I went with only 40 minutes to spare and food was out really quick.

Alaina B.

Yelp
Only my second time here but will continue to come back. All this amazing food for only $11.20 (pre tax)!!! Darn good sweet tea and great service! Wonderful little patio area to enjoy the weather and just people watch.

Tracy H.

Yelp
It's not the same restaurant. The muffins we're so hard . The menu isn't telling the truth . The vegetables are canned . We're saying goodbye .at one time we use to get excited about going now your worse than Cracker Barrel . Goodbye

Chris G.

Yelp
This place is a country Gem! I had amazing food with great service and wait to you see how good these prices are, I can't wait to come back! Home cooking done right chicken livers fried so tender and nice and helping Size was plenty to share if I had wanted to. The waitstaff was a bunch of very friendly ladies and I enjoyed their company while I waited.

Scott S.

Yelp
Blackberry cobbler is served in a fair sized bowl that will prove enough to satisfy any appetite. The brownie ala mode is enough for 4 to share and will send two directly to Jenny Craig. A 3 inch square decadent warm ultra dark chocolate comes adorned with whipped cream pearls and a contrasting cold scoop of premium ice cream. It's rich but not so sweet as to prevent a large spoonful taken in one bite. It's difficult to imagine eating a full plateful of fried chicken, vegetables and corn muffins and following up with a big dessert but we did. Supper will be tomorrow! Service is cordial, engaging and warm. It was like being at a family dinner and instead of telling you the broccoli salad was all gone your Aunt Emmy leans in and whispers she had saved a potion for you cos she knew how much you liked it. Vegetables here are abundant and delicious.

Jill V.

Yelp
The only thing good about this place is the service. The food is horrible! I had a simple pimento cheese sandwich for lunch and they put enough cheese on it to make 3 to 4 sandwiches...complete greasy mess! Also, I came home and got sick My husbands burger tasted like they used a bottle of Worcestershire sauce in the beef. Granted we didn't order the veggies like most, but the table next to us must've not liked their food either because they left their veggie bowls 3/4 full.

Joshua R.

Yelp
The good - quaint farm house feel with pretty good/ok food that is inexpensive. Friendly service staff. Great pancakes that my kids liked. Food came out fast and hot. Great biscuits. The bad - they don't have butter or cream/half and half. Instead, they have "real butter flavored" 48% vegetable oil spread and coffee mate fake creamer. I ordered over medium eggs, came out over easy. Bacon is thin and cheap. Over all, this is nothing special and I won't be in a rush to return.

James V.

Yelp
We made it a point to order pick up Meals at least weekly many times twice a week. It was our intention to support this locally owned restaurant and we liked the food. Would order the same entrees with specific details as to no salt separate containers for veggies from the fried catfish ( it's not edible with soggy liquids from the vegetables ) No Mayo on the BLT . Several weeks ago picked up order and checked the Fish order found the Styrofoam box floating with liquid from the veggies turned the fish into a soggy mess. When I pointed this out to the server she shrugged her shoulders and said she told the owner they needed more help. No offer to redo the order do I left and when I got home tried to eat the fish meal. It wasn't edible ! Then we found there was Mayo on the BLT. We specifically asked for no Mayo weekly as my wife doesn't eat Mayo. So suddenly I found I had paid for a meal neither of us could eat. Had to throw out both meals. Waste of Money after over a year of supporting these folks. Havnt been back and don't intend to any time soon. We refuse to support A business that does not respond to customers needs after we supported them for so long. There appears to Be a attitude of " slinging hash" to make a buck and ignoring customers Specific orders. ( Soumds like a McDonalds review doesn't it. ) So BEWARE the contents of your order And the attitude displayed by server of really not caring ( apparently expressed to them by the owner). I'm ashamed we spent so much Money supporting these folks Who apparently don't care about once very loyal customers. Have to admit missing the Food but can't bring myself to paying them for a meal we cannot eat which we had to feed to our trash can.

Alex B.

Yelp
A local friend wanted to bring me here to experience true southern food! Sweet tea - is pretty standard, but good. 7/10 Yeast rolls - very yummy! 9/10 Mac and cheese - meh. Reminds me of Kraft 1/10 Collard greens - better than Mary Mac's!! A little salty and super tasty. 9.5/10 Fried okra - good. 8/10 Fried Chicken - very very good. 8.5-9/10 Chicken fried steak - TO DIE FOR! O.M.G...10/10 Creamed corn - creamy and tasty! 8.5/10 Black eyed peas - good flavor! 8-8.5/10 Green beans - decent. 4/10 Green bean casserole - so so 3.5-4/10. Too creamy for my tastes. Blackberry cobbler - you HAVE to have it with ice cream. Vest way to finish the meal! It's extremely good. 8/10

Ginny S.

Yelp
There are very few meat and two or threes around here, so we were extra pleased to find this place! The bigger surprise was how good the food is! We both ordered one of the 3 daily entree specials. I ordered country fried steak with gravy, squash casserole and tomato, cucumber and onion salad. It was absolutely delicious and such big portions. My husband had the fried chicken entree and he said it was as good as the Paula Deen restaurant we ate in several days earlier! Eating at Midway brings back fond memories of eating dinner at grandma's house. Can't wait for a return trip!

Paula K.

Yelp
We've eaten breakfast here several times. Prices are reasonable, good portions. Eggs, pancakes, biscuits, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns. Servers are friendly and attentive. Lots of return customers. My only negative comment is that the farmhouse atmosphere needs some TLC. The exterior of the farmhouse is in need of repair. I understand they are going for a rustic look, but there are areas that are definitely in need of repair (paint, broken railings, etc).

Helen H.

Yelp
The food is delicious. This is an old home converted into a restaurant. The homey feel just adds to the overall quaintness of the place. We had lunch there and I have to recommend the chicken fried steak. The gravy was perfect. I also had the dressing with giblet gravy which was seasoned to perfection. You must try the cucumber/tomato/onion salad. It has just the right twangy taste I like. The sweet tea was great.

Debbie C.

Yelp
Not the same as it used to be. Canned vegetables, instant mashed potatoes, processed rolls. No 'home cooking' here! We have been twice since the pandemic thinking the first visit was them just getting back into the swing. Nope. Will not be returning. Very sad.

Scott S.

Yelp
I started coming here when last I lived in cumming and then had a need to visit from Tucker every so often. I've moved back and get to go for breakfast a few time a week. It's an old farm house, turned restaurant. The waitress have been here for a while, which speaks volumes.. they must great their people well. You won't leave here hungry! Omelettes are great and loaded with fillings. Then there's the grits and gravy and biscuit. It's a place you need to visit. Becoming a regular again, and getting to see familiar faces, it's becoming like family.

Andy L.

Yelp
I'm a bit out of place, but I'm used to it by now. If you ever happen upon yours truly, then chances are pretty good that I'll have a band shirt on that may appear inappropriate, but if you know me, then you'll know there's more to it than that. Well, our visit to the Midway Meal House was no different. We walked in and you'd think an alien just landed inside. The older crowd gawks and squints to read my shirts, but it's all part of the allure. What I'm getting at is that I don't usually fit in, and some time it affects the service we receive at certain establishments... a test if you will. Story-time aside, we were seated inside the old house immediately. I peruse the menu and find something that fits my chubby pie-hole. The food was well-cooked, not over-seasoned, which I assume is appease the masses, but a quick dash of hot-sauce or pepper can remedy this. The food is just plain good. Simple, but well done. The service matches the food as well, with prompt and courteous service and a smile done right. As we are catching our collective breaths, our server drops off the check and to my bemusement, I notice the amount. I asked the server if he missed an item on tab, because it just didn't seem like it was enough. I asked again to make sure and his response was that "this was their price and why they have so many repeat customers" which is a damned nice breath of fresh air. Seriously, I've been driving past this place for years thinking that it was just going to be cafeteria food repackaged for senior citizens. The senior part is correct, but cafeteria food it is not. It's just well done food at a more-than-reasonable price, which means that we'll have to return soon enough!

Emy P.

Yelp
Two egg breakfast with sausage and hot tea with lemon and honey! That is my go to meal. They're very friendly kind staff and they always refill my tea and bring me extra honey and lemon!!! The food is very cheap and beyond affordable and very delicious! Like going to your grandma's house for good old yummy cooking!!!!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
We've been there twice in the past month. Both times there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke - and I even saw an employee standing in a kitchen doorway smoking. Additionally, I spilled a bit of my coffee and so asked for an extra napkin... the waitress literally gave me a look and never came back. I had to ask another server (twice) for a napkin. The food is ok- enjoyed the pork chop! Food definitely not worth the smell and the service.

Kyle T.

Yelp
Stopped several times for breakfast and never disappointed with the quality. Service is very good and friendly. Today I accidentally left my wallet and told my server Robert, before I ordered and I would need to leave. He said don't worry about it, he would cover and I could pay him next time. I was totally surprised his offer. I enjoyed breakfast and returned less than an hour later to pay bill and give him a generous tip. Thanks Robert for the great service. Thanks to the staff for a great meal!

Dale V.

Yelp
The food here is amazing, the service from the kitchen not so much. Waited 45 minutes for our order while 3-4 people who came in after us received their food. Finally just left. Won't be back for the foreseeable future.

Donna W.

Yelp
My new favorite place for breakfast! Today was our first time trying this restaurant, and I have to say, it was delicious. We have been searching for a good southern restaurant, with good ole southern cooking. We have found that, finally, after 4 months of searching. We will be back!

Kevin G.

Yelp
This will be one of our go to places from now on being we have moved up to Cumming. Great food, atmosphere, and down home feeling. Service was fantastic, price was great. Plenty of food on your plate. My wife had the blackberry cobbler and it came with two scoops of ice cream. Price was $3.00 for that, what a great deal. Don't miss this one it will be your loss.

Ashley W.

Yelp
We were craving fried chicken and southern veggies, specifically fried okra, for dinner. We decided to give this restaurant a shot as it seemed to fit the bill for what we wanted. Major disappointment.... As we were looking over the menu we quickly realized that they have okra but NOT on Friday nights, which is of course when we were there. We ordered the fried catfish with turnip greens and squash casserole, as well as the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and English pea salad. The squash was inedible, it had no seasoning and no texture; a mushy, tasteless disgrace to squash recipes everywhere! The catfish, although cooked well, needed seasoning as well. The turnip greens were tasty. The fried chicken was juicy but also under-seasoned and lacked a crunchy coating, not very exciting. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes and were loaded with salt but still no flavor. I didn't try the pea salad but he said it was tasty. The atmosphere most definitely has a country feel to it but the layout is very awkward. It's seat yourself and once the main dining room is full you have to awkwardly walk around the other half of the restaurant to see if a table is available, if one is not you must hang your head in shame as you walk back to the front door. You can either stand in the crowded main dining room to wait for your table or wait on the porch and hope someone comes to get you when the table is free. The service, food, and atmosphere left us feeling greasy and unsatisfied...very disappointing. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

Shannon D.

Yelp
My family of 4 dined here this past Sunday, after church. When we arrived we were unsure about seating as there isn't a "hostess." It is seat yourself...we were able to find a seat right away but the place was definitely full and crowds steadily coming. I even noted some people getting take out. Our server greeted us promptly, brought menus and took our drink orders. Do yourself a favor...Sweet tea!!! It was so sugary wonderful. My oldest was thrilled they also had hot chocolate. My husband and I both got the country fried steak. I suggest having the gravy put on the side. The gravy is a white Peppermill gravy (I'm pretty sure). It was delicious and paired well with the cornbread too. I had fried okra and black eye peas. The okra was fine but the peas seemed undercooked and no juice. I'm not use to having back eye peas without "juice." They were too dry and lacking flavor/salt. Hubby had fried okra and mac and cheese. Kiddos shared grilled chicken and fries. There were no complaints from them. Service-5 stars (they give you the biggest cup of sweet Tea to go...it's massive!) Food-3.5 (country fried steak was ok but the gravy was great) Price- 3 or 4 (8.95 for country fried steak and 2 sides) I will definitely return but plan on trying their fried chicken. Everyone around us was ordering it...huge serving size. Note-I have eaten breakfast here in the past. I remember ordering a scrambled egg and biscuits with gravy. Their breakfast pricing is spot on! My friend had an omelette and said it was good.

V A.

Yelp
Always the best food in the area Down home meals. Don't waste your tome or money anywhere else for lunch. Well worth the trip. Thanks again for a delightful experience

April C.

Yelp
My family and I've eaten there many times, both breakfast and lunch. Five stars for food. Get chicken fried anything with gravy and you won't regret it. Tea is fantastic. Pricing is reasonable. Portions are generous. We have not been disappointed in any entrée, side, breakfast, lunch or drink. That's why we keep coming back. They lose one star for the awkwardness/lack of direction when you walk in. There is no waiting area or hostess. So when you walk in, you are literally walking into the middle of a crowded dining room. Congratulations on fitting so many tables in there but at some point, you get diminishing returns. It's a fend for yourself type seating situation. And I really hate wrapping up my meal with people hovering and waiting for my table. Why do I keep going there? Oh right, the food!

Kris B.

Yelp
I saw this restaurant and the advertisement of 'Home cooked meals'. That is EXACTLY what I got. A home cooked meal, just like mom would make if I were eating in her home. Simple, southern food that you could expect your mother or grandmother to cook, if you take the time to visit your mother (yes, you probably should call your mother once in a while, and it wouldn't hurt to take her here either...give her a night off and a decent meal). The food was good. I enjoyed this farm house style restaurant. I will definitely be back. It's simple, the price was cheap and the food was good. Nothing fancy, there was no sommelier or valet....just good southern food. You can wear jeans, shorts or even sweat pants if you want. It's a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. (I even saw one guy wearing hat!)

Yelp
The restaurant does feel like you're having a meal in some old farmhouse. I was there for breakfast and you choose your own seat and there was no wait. The tables are somewhat small - especially once the large portions arrive. The service is very friendly and attentive. One downside is the slow time to cook. We have 2 small children and the wait was a bit much for them but I understand that's the price for home cooked food. I ordered the sunrise breakfast special and it was only average. The hashbrowns were dry and the bacon fatty. I can see the appeal of down home cooking but it was not appealing to me.

Yelp
*Staff: friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient *Restaurant: inside or outside dining. We ate inside. It was warmish, but comfortable. Quaint country decor. *Food: excellent comfort food. Eggs were cooked PERFECTLY (which can be hard to find). Pancakes yummy and fluffy. Bacon was thin, but also came with sausages. Ordered gravy with our biscuit (I judge all breakfast restaurants by their gravy). And this gravy was a 8 out of 10. *Portion size: AMPLE! 3 plates per person....so yeah, be prepared to take some home... *Overall experience: very enjoyable. Will return with friends and family :)

Yelp
One of our favorite spots for home style southern cuisine. We are regulars for the Sunday lunch and it's always delicious. We've tried the meatloaf, country fried steak, fried and grilled chicken, pork chops, casseroles, multiple sides and more. Rarely are we disappointed with anything. The service is friendly and speedy. There's nothing fancy about the place but It's definitely a must to try for good 'ole southern cooking.

Yelp
Don't bother with this place. Great location, charming from the out side, filthy inside. Food is horrific. I am in shock at how bad it is and it may possibly be the worst food I have ever had in a restaurant. Just cause you can cook, does not mean you should open a restaurant. I ordered the grilled chicken. It had not one bit of seasoning. Mash potatoes and gravy tasted like it had some kind of pesticide. My daughter tried the bread basket of corn bread and buns that they brought to our table, turned to me and asked "we're never coming here again, right mom?". They did not look fresh. Additionally the service was rude and lacking, as we were seated before SIX other tables and served last. Never again.

Yelp
There are many wonderful entrées and sides to choose from in this down to earth country home away from home. Everything is superb, from the comp- limentary rolls and cornbread muffins to their deli- cious strawberry shortcake for desert. And, if you're brave, ask for the works, with ice cream and cool whip !!

Yelp
For some reason my mother in law raves about this place. She has been asking me for months to go with her, so I decided to check it out one Sunday morning. It was PACKED. I was thinking, "Wow, this is definitely going to be awesome!" We were seated promptly, though I could see there was a wait after we sat down, and waited more minutes than I liked to see a server. We ordered, and had to repeat ourselves a few times, which was a little annoying. One thing about the food it, it is CHEAP. Like Waffle House cheap. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and was happy o find that the blueberry's were actually made inside the pancakes. So many places just put them on top nowadays and that is so not right! The pancakes were tasty, and for 3 huge pancakes it was super cheap, like I said. I also had a side of hashbrowns, and they were just okay. The downfall of this place was really the service. It took forever for our server to come out so we could ask for the check, and then forever for them to bring it, and then forever for them to return our card. I get that they are busy, but maybe they need to hire a few more people? I am excited to try this out in the summer though, because there is a lovely porch that is filled with tables, and I can imagine having a really nice brunch out there.
