Midwinter

"Sounding like something from Game of Thrones, Midwinter is a mock European castle with white bricks, set among 32 acres of rolling fields with views of Khaoyai mountains. The dining room mixes alpine and vintage designs under high ceilings. The international and Thai dishes boast farm-to-table and homegrown organic ingredients, like asparagus, greens, fruits and herbs. They produce their own dry-aged beef, smoked ham, pork leg, sausages and fresh pastries." - Michelin Inspector

3 Best Day Trips From Bangkok

"Imagine stumbling upon a Swiss Alps village at the edge of a tropical monsoon forest. Random, right? Welcome to Midwinter Green, a popular destination en route to or from Khao Yai National Park. More than a restaurant—there are also manicured gardens, a shop selling baked goods and local groceries, a large live music stage, and winding pebbled paths—the property, with its European architecture and wooden, chalet-like buildings, feels slightly out of place in Thailand. It’s a bizarre aesthetic in such a hot climate, but a charming one nonetheless. There’s a heavy focus on meat—smoked pork chops, German pork knuckle, Australian Wagyu ribeye—but you’ll also find comfort-food classics like pizza, pasta, salads, and burgers. Portions are generous, always a plus for a hungry crowd coming post-hike." - Marianna Cerini

The menu offers familiar flavors — food quality and taste were average but overall pleasant. We visited on a dry day, so while we couldn’t try their alcoholic drinks, the non-alcoholic options were quite decent. As a farm-style restaurant, it features fresh ingredients and a lovely setting. At 7:40 PM, there’s a charming cartoon opera projection show on the wall of a white mini castle — a fun and unique addition to the dining experience.

- This is a restaurant you must visit when coming to Khao Yai area. The restaurant space is very large with lavender fields, the architecture of the restaurant is also a plus. Sunset is so beautiful - The special thing is that you will see a laser light show on the restaurant wall in the evening and live music. - The dishes are delicious and beautifully presented, the price is suitable for the experience. - Note that you need to book in advance to ensure a nice outdoor seat. I will definitely come back

Most travellers would visit this Scandinavan-Style Castle with both indoor and huge outdoor dining areas, when they are in Khao Yai. Reservation require for diners, especially during peak season. We were overwhelmed with the exquisite settings when we arrived for dinner. It was busting with travellers taking photographs of the castle and its surrounds, while waiting for dinner time. We were ushered to our table on scheduled and ordered the following dishes:- -Pork Ribs With BBQ Sauce. Ribs were well seasoned, tender, sweet and smoky. Paired well their blend of BBQ Sauce and chunky crispy potato fries with fresh salad greens. -Pad Thai (V) had a good blend of sweet, sour, salty and mild spicy flavours with chewy rice noodles and mushrooms. -Mixed Cheese Pizza had crispy, yet light and airy crust, evenly baked with no soggy spots. Toppings of various cheese did not overpowered the dough, thus every bite was enjoyable. Although all 3 main courses were good but they were not fantastic in terms of flavours and texture. However the overall dining experience was great, especially after sunset when lights were on and a Live Band performing against the backdrop of the Castle. Even though its typical in Thailand to have such a setting (Live Band and Dinner), but the Castle in the background is unique. Some may not like the loud volume from the Live Band though but i am fine with it as its felt concert like. Service wise, we had to forgive the service staffs for not being attentive and efficient, due to the huge dining area. We had to hunt for them to take our orders and get what we needed during serving period. However, they started to be more attentive after most patrons got their meals and were most efficient when we asked for bill.

Heard much about this place so we booked a table of 4. Ordered the 450g T-Bone, fish, and more. Taste is average. Light show at 19:40 sharp.

The last time I was here, we didn't make reservations and the queue was over an hour long so this time, I made it a point to make a reservation via their Line official account. Turns out the last timing they accept reservations was 6pm and anything after that is walk-in only. This place gives Medieval vibes, like one of those scenes out of GOT. Beyond the 'castle wall' you'll see their own farming land, where they practice farm-to-table (mainly the asparagus). The ambience is lovely and romantic (including a live band), service was excellent which I guess all adds to the price tag. Food is a mix of western and local fare, quality is decent. There's also a small playground within the property that makes the restaurant child-friendly.

Fabulous place to have a good dinner. Live band 🎶 in the evening, many people, and the surroundings gives a feeling that you sit and have dinner in a full amfiteater. The music was a bit loud but I guess they have to, to reach all tables. Just glad that we weren’t sitting closer to the stage. The light was a bit dim, so it wasn’t easy to read the menu - which made me a vegetarian that night - but the single light 💡 on the table was also a part of the intimate experience. The food was good and the staff were busy between the tables while people were coming and going all the time. With the wall show it was all in all a great experience. Except for the loud music and the dimmed light, I would have given ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Superior concept.

If you’re visiting Khao Yai, this is a must-visit restaurant! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing it makes everything feel even better. The staff were a bit slow at times, but it’s totally understandable since it was really busy (we went during New Year). Still, we had a great experience overall, and I’d definitely come back if I have the chance!

Its a beautiful and ambient place to enjoy dining w lifeband. Didn't expect to hv band on weekdays but we were lucky. Their signature pizza is gd but carbonara was a disappointment. Purple butterfly pea mocktail is pretty gd too.
