With so many places to eat in Hanoi, don’t waste your time trying eel noodles. And maybe I personally don’t get it, but the noodles were bland and there was the tasteless deep fried eel. Nothing to write home about. We got mixed eel vermicelli soup (3 tiny slivers of fresh eel? 45k VnD), stir fried eel vermicelli (60k VND) and eel spring rolls (4x 12k VND, best spring rolls so far in Vietnam but not sure that is saying much, no lettuce, just cilantro). Recommended by our tour guide for the best places to try some iconic vietnamese food. So we tried their mien luon, glass noodles with eel. It was a pleasant experience, the eel was cruncy, the noodles were soft and the broth was flavourful. The place was packed with customers, always busy, so it was quite loud and hot in the afternoon. Other than that great food.

The eel glass noodle soup is delicious, but the portion is small — I still felt like I hadn’t really eaten after finishing it. The restaurant gets very crowded at lunchtime.

Went about 1230h. Crowded but managed to get a seat. Ordering the food was a hassle - got to cross the road to order from the main shop. Service was bad as the only service staff was just overwhelmed. Ordered the fried glass noodle with eels. The eels stripes tasted were too crispy- like biscuits! Didn’t taste like eel. Noodle was ordinary too. Did not enjoy the meal.

good stuff! although they gave me the wrong order - seems like i got mixed vermicelli with fried eel (?) instead of fried vermicelli with mixed eel. (the owner was insistent that i pay for what i received, and gave me 10k back, a sincere gesture i appreciated) the fried eel was a bit overcooked imo - tasted burnt and crunchy. vermicelli was a banger though. i recommend getting the non-fried eel.

Decided to give this restaurant a try as the very famous pho restaurant next door had a long queue. It was surprisingly good and an enjoyable meal. Wife and I tried both the soup and dried versions of the eel noodles. They have both indoor (air conditioned) and outdoor seating. Service was fast and friendly. Noodles go down well with a cold beer.

Now, this is not your everyday popular Vietnamese dish like Pho or Banh mi. Instead, this joint serves sliced eel prepared in different ways - in bowls of thick soup, a noodle soup version, and a dried, fried vermicelli version with crispy slivers of eel. Fried to order, the noodles are a smoky and comforting street dish. The eel soup served with the fried noodles was rich with the taste of eel and has a flavourful depth. A side of sliced cucumber provides a refreshing crunch to the meal.

Not on our go-to list but it was one of the memorable one (in good way) because this meal is unfamiliar to us but we still tried it. Good thing we did it because it was delicious! Do order the separate soup vermicelli and fried eel. The taste of the noodles is sweet and savory. It matches well with the fried eel. We had a nice experience here. Price? Really cheap but it comes with a huge servings. No wonder they have lots of customer.
