"Modern, with a stylish flair and an impressive set-up, Migrante benefits from a young team with a warm and welcoming attitude. An open kitchen is always busy sending out contemporary, internationally minded plates like crispy prawns with homemade mandarin kosho and radish salad or homemade churros with charred mamey sided by butternut squashpurée and seared foie gras. The mini grilled artichoke sandwich with cured kampachi is a delicious snack before a main dish like striped Bass cooked in charcoal, mussels and yuzu beurre blanc." - Michelin Inspector

Migrante: Refined Flavors with a Warm Touch Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ ⭐ (5/5) Migrante offers a fine dining experience that balances sophistication with hospitality. The food is flavorful and creatively infused with spices and influences from around the world. The wine pairing complements the menu beautifully, and the service is warm and attentive without being overbearing. The Good: •Global Inspiration: Dishes feature spices and flavors from across the globe. •Tasty & Thoughtful Cuisine: Each plate in the set menu was well-executed and full of depth. •Wine Pairing: Carefully selected and worth it. •Friendly Service: Attentive, welcoming, and made the experience more enjoyable. •Great for a Date: Elegant but relaxed—ideal for a romantic evening out. The Not-So-Good: •Plan Ahead: It’s best to book in advance. On weekdays, though, you might get lucky—there were a few open tables when I went. The Bottom Line: Migrante delivers an elevated yet cozy dining experience, with globally inspired flavors, excellent wine, and top-notch service. A great pick for date night or any special occasion that deserves something more than just dinner.

Excellent fusion of mostly Japanese influences with Mexican cuisine. Reminded me of the high end restaurants of Kyoto. Only complaint was that the food had cooled off before being brought to the table. The team approach to service didn’t quite work. Portions were small in the six course tasting menu, more Japanese than Mexican.

Given the hype, rave reviews and high price point, this was a pretty disappointing fine dining experience. We did the 9-course tasting menu, and although about 1/3 of the dishes were excellent, the rest were underwhelming and felt extremely confused. Mostly, there was a sense that every dish was trying to be way too many things at once, with an exaggerated number of ingredients and flavors and textures on the plate that ultimately just didn’t mix, nor add up to anything coherent. Like someone was trying way too hard to impress, and instead of allowing clear flavors to shine through, it was all lost in a jumble of colors and foam. The service was very friendly but very scattered. A large number of different servers showed up at our table at various points, but none seemed in command of the menu or drink list. When we asked them to explain about the wine pairing (which we were eager to try) they sounded clueless and unable to explain the types of wines we would be served. Even the explanations for each dish were done in a very robotic manner - simply reciting as a list of elements on each plate with no real context or explanation or story as to what the dish was meant to be about, which is what we normally love most about fine dining. When we finally just asked for suggestions for specific wines that work well with dishes on our menu, our server simply said “Well maybe you can choose a white wine.” When we asked him to suggest what type, he seemed a bit lost. So overall, despite a few standout bites that were truly delicious, the experience was not nearly at the caliber of comparable CDMX fine dining venues like Maximo, Pujol or Quintonil. The offerings here felt confused, like the kitchen was mostly determined to impress with style over substance, to try everything all at once instead of having a clear culinary direction or flavor profile. Definitely didn’t live up to the very high price tag. Or maybe we just caught them on an off night.

Wow, that was so impressive. We were lucky to secure a last minute reservation and it ended up being one of the best dinner experiences we have ever had. Presentation, style and complex amazing flavors. Uriel was our server and he was incredible. Outstanding experience without pretension. The drinks and wine were fabulous as well. Highly recommend.

I was truly impressed by the 9 course food and wine pairing at Migrante. The staff were very resourceful, and knowledgeable. The food and wine combination was unique making for a fun and delicious time. Thank you to Chef Fernando for curating a fun, immersive, experience. I will be back next time I visit CDMX!

What a special dinner for my birthday! Beautiful presentation, flavor explosion of Mexican food with Japanese influence! We were lucky enough to be there on a night when chef Fernando was around. You can choose from a 6 or 9 course tasting with pairings, or a la carte. We chose a la carte and everything was delicious. We started with a blue crab salad, cauliflower tortellini, and each got a main entree. We ended with the house made vermouth as a digestive. Amazing service (Frida) and we felt extremely lucky to have had the experience. Our hotel concierge recommended this place and it surpassed all we could have wanted in a dining experience.
