Interesting place. The restaurant was really nice. It was clean, loved the decorations, and the staff were all kind. The red and green salsas were so delicious! They had a sour cream type sauce that was a new experience. I liked it a lot! It was about 50/50 who did and didn’t at our table. The queso was ok. Not what I was expecting but it was tasty. The puffy tacos and taquitos were different. They were most soft and not the crunchy we were anticipating. Other than that our waiter was awesome! I can’t remember his name but he was great.

First time here. The wait was under 10 minutes. The food was hot and fresh. It was delicious and if in town again I would definitely go back! Ask for Angela is was attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu!

I stopped by this Mexican restaurant the other day for a quick bite. The atmosphere was fine—nothing too special, but not bad either. I decided to try the jalapeño poppers and the quesadillas. The jalapeño poppers were actually really delicious—crispy on the outside with a nice cheesy kick inside. They definitely stood out as the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the quesadillas were just okay. They weren’t terrible, but they didn’t have much flavor and the cheese felt a bit bland. Service was decent, and prices were fair. Overall, not a bad place, but nothing that left a lasting impression. Might come back if I’m in the area again, mostly for those poppers.

Google
I ordered flautas and they disappointed big time. They were more like a egg roll with a sweet chili sauce…. I also tried the birria tacos … not it either. I’m not sure what the consume was made from but it was too thick and had an odd taste.

David Crow

Google
Judging by the queso alone I’d give this place two star review but the menu selection is impressive and has unique offerings. Food overall was tasty. I had fish tacos and enjoyed them. Margaritas here are made with quality ingredients and give you a nice selection to choose from.

I’ve always loved this restaurant and make a habit to visit each time I’m in town. This round; extremely disappointed. Ordered queso (small) and nachos. By small; I did not think they would bring single serve for 6.95. Nachos were slim on chicken; which you pay extra for. Service was attentive and decor always makes me happy. Some things shouldn’t change.

5 Stars – Eric Made the Day! From the moment we walked into the restaurant, we knew we were in for a great meal—but what we didn’t expect was how much better our experience would be, thanks to our server, Eric. Eric was an absolute standout. He was warm, attentive without being overbearing, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what he does—which made all the difference. He managed to strike that perfect balance of being professional and personable, and by the end of the evening, we were all saying, “Can we request Eric next time?” The food was fantastic, but Eric’s service elevated the entire experience. If you're dining here, do yourself a favor and ask for him by name. He’s a gem.

Went today for lunch and from the get go, the waitress who's section I was seated in was audibly complaining about being triple sat. Making comments with an annoyed attitude to the table in front of me like "I have to go get the chips for this other table" and a comment to another table about how they just triple sat her, giving the hostess the side eye when I was seated. I told her "if y'all don't want to serve me, I can go elsewhere" and she quickly contradicted her statements. I told her I understand being busy and I'm not in a hurry to which she begins to tell me about how she ordered her own food from the kitchen and now it's probably getting cold. I have never experienced this here. Also, my steak fajitas were cold as well as my rice and beans so I'm not sure if it sat up there ready or not since the waitress told me she had been in the back eating. Steak was overcooked and flat out gross to chew. I still tipped generously and will be back but I'll avoid a certain waitress.

Yelp
Amazing- we came early and great experience. Service was exceptional and best fajitas I have had.

Yelp
Fried fish filet fish stick with tartar sauce not happy , not a typical fish taco The rice n charro beans were good

Yelp
Ok, puffy taco not bad, definitely less tortilla and not so hard as a hard smell taco. Also having the chicken fried chile relleno that is actually different but very good. I didn't care for rice or refried beans, they were not what im used to, to me it was bland. I had a prikly pear on the rocks, very good! Sat in bar area, very nice, clean, not to bright with lights, very romantic feel with beautiful Mexican decor. It would have been perfect with some mexican music, but mostly non-latinos eating here, so i get it. Service was good, they did check on me a good amount. Thank you. Its very big inside, great for large groups. Plenty of parking, clean bathroom. Great service at the bar.

Yelp
We went for appetizers and drinks so can't speak to the entrees, but drinks were great. Cold and icy. Nachos, queso and guacamole were outstanding. Service was even better. Will definitely come back when we are in Abilene again for a more complete dining experience.

Yelp
We always ho to Miguel's for a couple drinks and chips and salsa. It's a great atmosphere in the Bar. Everyone is soo friendly. Shootout to Jason for being a Great fast and friendly waiter. The Lg Guacamole and the Sampler Platter is great. I do like the Carne Asada steak, it is most excellent.

Yelp
This was my first time here and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I feel like Mexican restaurants are so hit or miss because some of them just royally suck. So my expectations weren't high. But everything was great!! The flautas were great and the fajitas were also great. What I loved was they gave you fajitas for a person not fajitas for a whole group. The service was also fantastic!!! I didn't love the fruit fresh margarita the triple sec just was not my vibe but other than that it was great!!

Yelp
My last review for Miguel's was March 1. The day I buried my Mom. (Sad face) I've since been back- Easter, Mother's Day- Father's Day- and Thanksgiving . I don't live in Abilene. But I won't fail to stop by and enjoy the food here. April- 2 spinach enchiladas: ugly as sin- but delicious. ($13) May- camarones de brochette- like a bacon wrapped shrimp fajita. It's soooo good . ($25) June- Shrimp and chicken fajitas ($21) I didn't get any sizzling videos- but I assure you. They sizzled. And were amazing. November- Camarones de Brochette. Went DOWN IN PRICE!! (What?!??) $24 These folks can fuss it up. But not enough to scare me away. I continue to recommend.

Yelp
Wait....they reuse food?? Nope 3 stars to show up. I need to write more but they need to pass the health department inspection.

Samantha I.

Yelp
Service was great! We had the brisket taquitos and steak fajita nachos. The taquitos were awesome, however the nachos were disappointing. For almost $17 they should've been better. Each nacho was a half of a TACO SHELL. They were soggy, and I'm sorry but when you serve taco shells for nachos it's off putting. Did you run out of actual chips? I've had their nachos before and loved them, I don't know what was going on with them tonight and why anyone would use taco shells. Other than that it was good.... But if you're charging almost $17 for nachos you really need to rethink what you're serving.

Yelp
First stop upon arriving to visit family. Love the decor and many selections on the menu. From the chips and salsa to the enchiladas and tacos we had our fill of good TexMex and leftovers to snack on later. The queso and guacamole were really good.
google avatar

Carolyn G.

Yelp
Love Miguel's. Their servers are friendly and efficient. Our margaritas were cold and tasty. Our lunches came out quickly and my spinach enchilada was excellent. Reasonably priced, fun decor and clean restrooms. We will be back soon.
google avatar

Irma M.

Yelp
When I think of flautas, I picture a thin crispy corn tortilla chicken wrap, not an egg role size one, topped with a sweet sauce. The beans were cold, but tasty. The rice was not a traditional Mexican rice. Biggest difference was the flavor. It was a pleasant place, and clean. The rating is just for the lack of traditional spices. It was not what I call Tex-Mex food.
google avatar

Kim N.

Yelp
The bacon wrapped shrimp is amazing! Highly recommend! This was my first time to eat here, and we sat in the bar. No wait! It was quiet so we could talk easily and enjoy the time together.

Mike H.

Yelp
this restaurant was recommended by the hotel. I am staying at. I ordered the steak fajitas. The steak fajitas were very good, but I thought they came with sour cream and guacamole and cheese which mine did not. I also got the Mexican corn and it was very good.

Yelp
This is my second time here, and this is my edited review: I am curious to know if Miguel's is a local restaurant or a chain. However, I would recommend this place for several reasons: 1) The atmosphere. They have invested in the details and in honoring the Mexican heritage. They play Mexican music (classics) but not loud, allowing you to converse while enjoying your food. 2) The patio is gorgeous! The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing, with dimmed lights, beautiful furniture, and fountains. 3) The food is affordable, but it is not cheap. What I mean is that they offer quality for a reasonable price. The chicken fajita and two chicken soups totaled 42 dollars, including tea. Our waitress was fantastic; I did not catch her name, but she was funny, fast, and charismatic. (She had an accent from Argentina). We had a great experience, and I would return and recommend it to friends.

Yelp
Stopped in Abilene for the night on a work trip and happen to find this place right up the street from where we are staying. Service was great even with the new trainer. Staff recommended favorites and answered questions for the more pickier person of the party. Food came out hot and nothing like we have had anywhere else. Hoping that future work trips bring us back this direction. Compliments to chef and wait staff. Very satisfied.

Yelp
Very hit or miss. I ordered the brisket enchiladas and they were pretty good. Plenty of meat, everything tasted good from the hatch chili sauce to the corn tortillas. It was listed with the "spicy" symbol next to it on the menu, but honestly I didn't find it very spicy. The chips were good, the salsa tasted like it had a lot of black pepper in it??? I didn't really touch the salsa, but I am usually very picky about salsa. This one I just didn't like. What threw me for a loop though was the rice. It was unlike any Mexican rice I have ever had (in a bad way). It was really indescribable. It felt more like an Asian fried rice with Mexican flavors, but the texture was unlike either style. The taste wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I was expecting. I did eat the rice, but I would never order it again. I'm sure some people love it and they would not be wrong. I just found it to be so strange. Service was fine, I ordered takeout so I didn't get much interaction. Overall it was decent but I don't think it was entirely for me.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Miguel's. This place is *huge* - and even so we had a 20min wait on a Saturday night. The atmosphere is why I gave it 5 stars - fun latin themed. I would say more Encanto's Casita style rather than traditional Mexican. The beautiful light fixtures and flowers that go all over the ceiling were so fun. It was cold when we went but the patio looked really nice. And my favorite was that there were no TV's (other than the ones just showing random mood pics). The food was pretty good. My go to is fajitas, and the steak in the fajitas seemed much better quality than the typical skirt steak, it was super tender and had no fatty spots. I suspect that the meat is maybe slow cooked then grilled hot when ordered? Whatever the case, it was very good. Lots of good caramelized onions and grilled peppers. We ate more chips and salsa than usual - the salsa was not too spicy so the kids enjoyed it too. I was a bit disappointed in the refried beans they tasted pretty similar to canned beans. Not sure if they were, I just typically like the thinner style of beans than the pasty kind. I very much liked the rice, but the kids wouldn't eat it, not sure why. Also loved the bathroom - all the fun tile! This will be a regular spot for us when visiting. I thought the prices were extremely reasonable and service was great. The music was pretty quiet, which I was thankful for, just super relaxing dinner. *Definitely* get the bread pudding. My husband is allergic to tree nuts, but he was able to eat it, not sure if the menu is not updated but there were not actually any nuts in it.

Yelp
First, I know it's Christmas Eve and I shouldn't bitch. We are grateful for food service staff who choose to be away from their families on such special days, but... My wife and I called several times to make sure Miguel's in Abilene, Texas would be opened and what time they closed. We didn't want to be 'those' people, I just don't trust disgruntled staff with my food. Because of the line still waiting an hour before they closed we chose to sit in the bar instead. We were obviously the wrong one of the three tables in the bar. Our server spent more than fifteen minutes talking with each of the other two tables while I had to go to the bar and ask for napkins, then utensils, drinks and salsa refills. We were completely ignored. In fact, when the gentleman brought our food I asked for chips and salsa refills and never saw him again. Finally, I talked with the bartender and told her I wasn't sure who we pissed off but we were being ignored and needed service. Of course she apologized before speaking with our server. I'll spare you his shallow excuses. He brought Jeremy the manager who was very apologetic and even offered to comp a meal because the onions were left off my wife's enchiladas, which is not what we asked for. We will be more cautious about where we sit on our next visit.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. Great ambiance and excellent service. I had gabby for a server. This was my 1st time as I just moved here. Gabby our server led us with excellent choices. I had the Burnt tip fajitas. She also let us try three different sauces with the Tortillas. I also found out that the patio is dog friendly.

Yelp
We were in town for a funeral and two people recommended this place Very disappointed!! The service was way below average. We had to ask for everything, ie., our drinks, silverware, just everything. They were even out of the wine I ordered. The queso and cheese on enchiladas was a cheese we've never tasted. I didn't taste good at all. We asked for fresh onion on the enchiladas and they forgot. The only thing good was the carne asada steak and the beef fajita meat, but only for that one time. I did not age well. I used to live in Abilene and this is one of the worst Mexican places I've ever been to.

Yelp
Perfect this time. Best one so far. Chili relleno with steak Lunch crowd is good Great service

Yelp
I am such a huge fan of Miguel's! Not only is it such a fun place to go with friends and amazing ambiance, the staff is also absolutely amazing! We threw a party for one of our friends this week and there was nowhere else we wanted to go besides Miguel's. Kelly, the manager, and Laney, our amazing, AMAZING server took such great care of us! It's truly the reason I keep going back to Miguel's over and over and over again! We have a place like Miguel's in Abilene and I love the community that I have experience there. Thank you so much, Kelly and Laney! You are the best!

Yelp
Service was very good. My dinner? Not so much. Ordered the flautus dinner and was very disappointed. The rotisserie chicken tasted canned or was so ground up it tasted like canned. Guacamole was a bit too salty for me. My grandson ordered the chubby chimi and liked it a lot. Nice atmosphere. Dinners had nice presentations.

Abigail M.

Yelp
Ordered the 2 beef enchilada plate, and turned out to only be cheese. Bit into the enchilada and there was a huge piece of plastic in it. Manager was nice enough to comp the meal but very unsanitary and unsafe!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food great service ambience really nice. Been there twice. Plan to go back again soon.

Ron B.

Yelp
Barrio brisket tips are fabulous, service was fast, friendly, and attentive, thanks Joe-Lynn (sp?) , dog friendly, and such an inviting atmosphere, marvelous!!! 5stars just not enough!!

Noah B.

Yelp
I came here last summer and I can confidently say I have never had a better waiter than Braden Baker. It's a shame he had to leave to go back to school but he really made an impact on our experience. The food was great but his customer service and smile really sealed the deal for us. I truly believe Braden would be a great godfather for your children. He probably is the guy who saves kittens from trees. Braden is the kind of guy who picks up a straw wrapper in the parking lot just because he cares. He is the kind of guy who would pick a dandelion just to observe the natural beauty this world beholds. Braden is the essence of Miguel's. Their margs are good too
google avatar

Yelp
As the saying goes..... always order the special !! The food here is fabulous !! I couldn't decide between the Brisket Tacos and the Brisket Tips. Yaritza our server suggested the Brisket Tips and she was spot on. They were the best !! If you visit this restaurant I highly recommend them. It's a perfect combination of TX BBQ and Mexican. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and laid out. It has an outdoor seating area and looks very comfortable for groups. We will be back when visiting again.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
We've been looking for a great place to have Mexican food in Amarillo and Miguels did not disappoint! It's an independent restaurant with a very nice interior plus a very comfortable patio. My wife also has a very difficult food allergy (onions) and Morgan and Kelly did excellent work accommodating us. I'd highly recommend them if you're craving Mexican food, a margarita, and some great service.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Twice I was here, 2 nights in a row! Love good Mexican food and great Margs....so was so good the first night thought maybe it was a fluke....second night was just as good as the first!!!! Raise your expectations and have a great time!

Yelp
We visited your restaurant on January 26th while traveling to Lubbuck from Ft. Worth. Jay was our server and this man was outstanding. He knew the menu inside and out. He was able to give us a brief description on how some of the items would taste that we were interested in ordering. I ordered the taco salad and I have to tell you, this was the best taco salad that I have ever Had. I can't remember what my husband order. We were tired and we also had our fur baby with us on the patio. Most of the time our fur baby will constantly bark when he is uncomfortable around other people . He did't bark not one time when Jay was waiting on us, so this should let you know what a great employee Jay is. He made our visit really pleasant. Thank you

Tim S.

Yelp
REVISION - this place really is hit or miss. We've had very good experiences in the past but today changed all of this. We had this waitress who was an absolute bitch! She was rude and wanted to argue with me about a meal I had had here recently that they never had that in the 4 years her smug ass had worked there. Unacceptable! We promptly got up and walked out! I did speak with the manager and hopefully she addresses this issue. I do know that we probably won't be going here again...such a shame

Sarilly V.

Yelp
Personal preference, but I love the really thin chili's style tortilla chips (which are the best tortilla chips in the world, don't argue with me about it), and they have those chips here. Salsa has a kinda weird flavor that takes a few chips to get used to, but it's good. For the food, it's the whitest version of texmex I've ever had, and it's amazing. If you're looking for authentic Mexican go somewhere else. If you're looking for a delicious chicken fried Chile rellano or a chimichanga that has bbq sauce on it then this is the place! Service is always great and the ambiance is good. Margaritas are delicious but expect to spend at least $10 on one.
google avatar

Alyssa L.

Yelp
Came here alone for lunch and omg i love the margaritas and food! I'm a huge Tex-mex fan. So i have a lot to compare this place to. The margaritas were delicious and hit the spot! Also, the lunch size was still a pretty good size! I paid a total of $31 for my food and 2 margaritas. Great value in my opinion

Yelp
We came in mid afternoon on a Saturday- no rush - quickly sat down. The outdoor chairs that were used indoors - plastic wicker like chairs were coming apart. They were so low to the ground we felt like we had to raise our hands way up to eat. Our waiter was good. Took our order , got it right , checked on us often but not to much . He was good ! The food was blah . My husband ordered the beef & shrimp Fijita and they had some weird seasoning on them. The guacamole was awesome. My daughter got cheese quesadillas. The flour tortilla was so hard I'm fairly sure it was from 11 o'clock that morning. She didn't eat but one bite and the waiter didn't ask if anything was wrong. I got chicken tortilla soup and the chicken in the soup was so tough I couldn't even chew it. The Flo or ... what flavor . It was like broth and toss in a little avocado and chips and call it good. Our bill for one cup of soup , kids meal and one adult meal was $56 before tip. We drank water only !

Yelp
Very solid choice for some good food and beverages. It won't blow you away, but it's solid all the way around. We went with a party of 12 and everyone enjoyed their meal, and I think we all ordered something different. The ambiance was nice and the staff was awesome, and the prices were fair. Cheers

Anthony B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, very well decorated inside. Awesome waitress very friendly and well informed! Margarita were a little different, they make their own triple sac! Chips and dip were great brisket enchiladas a little disappointing! Still good just not very spicy! And overall a little pricy!!!
google avatar

Richard S.

Yelp
Great quality Mexican restaurant. Seating is big and open, plenty of space. It is a little pricey, but really not bad at all. We eat here every week and get the fajitas for lunch with free queso. Our kids love the queso fries. Also, their queso, salsa, and chips are the best in the Big Country that I've found. Waitstaff can be slow depending on who you get. Managers are good though so that is a huge plus.
google avatar

Zoe M.

Yelp
It's been inconsistent on terms of both service and food. Some days it's great others it's rough. Their salsa is considerably a bit on the sour side of flavors to me. I always enjoy their queso on the other hand. This is definitely a try it for yourself place. The times I have good food and service it's 5 stars on the bad days it's almost a 2 or 3. The atmosphere is more on the nicer side, decorated from head to toe. I just wish the food was consistently as good as the decor!
google avatar

Graeme G.

Yelp
Is there a way to make this app remind you that you've eaten somewhere before?? If so I need to block this place from myself. Ate here again and remembered. Margaritas are weird/different but ok. Everything else is really not so great. Salsa is bad, fresh guacamole is bad and very small and Chile Relleno is very bad, with some cheap thick breading. Rice is bad, beans are bad and Enchiladas were not edible either. I'm back at my hotel looking for something to eat.
google avatar

Emma G.

Yelp
It was amazingggg!!! I really appreciated Liam and Taylor. They were amazing servers and would definitely come back again.

Logan N.

Yelp
Well we thought since it was a fancier looking Mexican restaurant it was going to be good. The food was atrocious, the enchilada plate was for a toddler even ordered 3 enchiladas nor did it even come with pico or guac which is a staple of Mexican food. The brisket nachos were soggier than a wet dog. Definitely do not recommend eating there but we had a good waiter!

Will E.

Yelp
I keep giving this place a chance but I think I'm done. Tried the chicken rellano and the chicken was horrible I pulled out the chilie and ate it only. Queso had almost no taste. Only reason I will come here is for the poppers. Service was great, waiter was on point keeping my tea filled.

Yelp
This is an update to my almost 2 year old review: My last review was not very positive, but it was very deserving. After that review, we had not visited Miguel's again in well over a year. In the last 6 months, however, we have been approximately 10 times for both lunch and dinner. We had decided to give them another try after friends told us about a good experience they had recently had. The place has changed dramatically. The atmosphere is still the same beautiful interior with a very nice patio in the back, but the staff changes have made a world of difference. Not only have the waiters and waitresses been extremely pleasant, but they seem to be much more knowledgeable of the menu itself and have made some very good recommendations including some off-menu tweaks to the food. Service has also been much more expedient. From the time we get drinks and chips and salsa to the time we receive our food after ordering. It has been as good an experience as one could wish for. We usually get a manager visit to our table as well just to make sure everything was satisfactory and to thank us for coming in. The food is still very good and we have yet to get an order that wasn't correct. My only drawback is that I do wish the menu had a few more items. It is perfectly fine for most people, but they used to have a much wider variety. They had just recently introduced a new item when we started back (Cheesesteak Tacos) which I tried and loved. We went back within a week just because I was craving them again. After about a month they were back off the menu. I'm sure I could probably request them as they are basically just Tacos al Carbon with grilled peppers and onions and a very nice and smooth cheesy sauce, and they would be happy to oblige. But it just seems a bit pretentious to always order an item off-menu. Overall, our experience has greatly improved and they have once again earned our regular business. Updated my rating for that reason.

Yelp
Liam and Taylor they're amazing. Great food #FeedTheCats.#FAA #Food #Amazing. Amazing service will definitely come back.

Yelp
Come in knowing it's a fusion style food place. It's definitely not Mexican or Tex max, it's something a bit different. My son swears they have the best burger in town. Personally, the brisket cheddar taqueria always hits the spot. The queso fantastic is a great appetizer!

Yelp
Great food and always nice servers! Love eating on the patio when the weather is nice! The fajitas, fish tacos, enchiladas, mix-mex rice... I've never had anything I didn't like!

Yelp
Decent tex-mex cuisine with a lovely patio. Some of the best salsa I've had in a restaurant. Would have it shipped.
