Food was delicious. We left full and satisfied. I love when the toppings on nachos cover all the chips! My husband ordered 3 tacos: ranked in order best to good —> Baja shrimp, carne asada, chicken tinga. The music was a little too loud for us and our server didn’t greet or acknowledge us besides taking our order and giving us the bill, but we are low maintenance customers so it doesn’t bother us.

Saturday, family night out, we’re at Quincy square, why not. 5 of us out for dinner, why not?! Good choice, food was good!! Service a tad slow, BUT, they were busy, so I definitely understand. If you’re hungry or even thirsty for that matter, stop in and give them a try!!! 5 of us with not one complaint! Good and drinks were good!!!

Good. Lands! This was some GOOD food! We ordered two veggie burrito bowls - one with steak - and chicken Tinga nachos. Everything was fresh and delicious! Service was outstanding and I loved the open, outdoor-feeling of the restaurant. I felt like I was on an island enjoying authentic cuisine! Absolutely delicious and incredibly enjoying dinner!

Right in Boston's Faneuil Hall, this place was an unexpected surprise. You think a Mexican place nestled in a touristy area of a place known for chowder and lobster rolls is going to be mediocre, boy were we wrong. Drinks were creative, went with the Painkiller... sweet, spiced, delicious. Guacamole was exceptional, opted for the carnitas tacos with pineapple salsa... hit that with a squeeze of orange... wow. Absolutely amazing. We had 7 people, service was excellent and we all gave the food 5 stars. Don't sleep on this place, it was well worth it.

Google
This place is an amazing Mexican restaurant that's got it all! The food is delicious, with authentic flavors. They've got a killer drink menu too, with refreshing margaritas and creative cocktails. The service is great and quick and staff are friendly. Plus, they're open till late on weekends and weekdays, making it the perfect spot for a late-night Mexican feast!

Google
Nice and quiet for a Wed, and I loved it. Service was attentive, and the food was delicious. I ordered the steak and it was seasoned perfectly and tender. Everyone on my table wished they ordered it too when they tried it. The wings and the corn was spot on too.

Recently moved to Boston and was hopeful about the margaritas at a restaurant named l ‘tequila’ bar. The first frozen margarita that I had just tasted like water so I asked my waiter to bring me a regular ‘signature’ margarita but he was insistent that the frozen be remade. Second go and it only tasted like tequila- the picture that is posted is once I was not able to suck anymore out of my straw. All ice. Ordered unlimited chips and salsa- wanted to dip my quesadilla in salsa but never saw our waiter again after getting our food so was not able to do that. Part of my ‘steak’ quesadilla was only cheese… All in all, overpriced and lack luster.

Stopped here on the way back home from a trip to Salem and was amazed by how great everything was. From our meals, to our service, the experience was wonderful. The restaurant is super cute, and it was still warm outside when we went so we got to sit on the patio and enjoy the evening. Can’t recommend enough. Also the frozen margaritas were fantastic!

Yelp
My teammates and I visited Mija on a weekday dinner and we loved our experience. We are a group of 15 and we got seated immediately without a reservation. I got the yummy Rosa Rita margarita it was so delicious. Absolutely loved it. Chicken tinga taco was good but my favourite is the Baja shrimp!! Juicy shrimps, refreshing slaw, coated with yummy sauces. Everything sits well and does not fall apart. Served with delicious Mexican rice. I enjoyed my meal. The chips and salsa was fresh and yummy. They give 2 big bowls of nacho chips for each order. Guac was fresh. Must visit for a great sit down dine in experience With yummy food at Quincy market.

Yelp
Stopped into Quincy market quick for a drink while trying to decide on dinner plans. We stumbled upon Mika cantina to get a few drinks. The drinks were very strong to balance out the sweet but were a bit overpriced in my opinion. We sat directly at the bar so our service was very quick and friendly. We started with a signature margarita and fresa verde. Both were good and very strong. For my fresa verde I was confused thinking it would be green but it ended up to be very sweet and paired great with the tajin rim. The strawberry mojito was very sweet almost too sweet so it would be a one drink order and switch to something different. The only downside to this location attached to Quincy market is the bar is semi outside with walls so if someone is smoking you can smell it which prompted my leaving as they were very packed.

Yelp
Horrible service. Staff stood there talking and totally ignored us. We ordered one drink and we were never spoken to again. Had to ask 1000 times for the tab. I was really looking forward to some of their top shelf tequila but will never go back. Don't waste your time or money.

Patrice R.

Yelp
2nd time around i enjoyed this place the service was a little slow however the food music was flowing and vibe were good the drinks were very well made the Signature margarita was delicious and the Moscow mule was on point .Now let's talk food the Chipotle garlic wings are still amazingly delicious the Ceasar salad was plentiful and had roasted cauliflower which was different however very enjoyable. I enjoyed the vegetable burrito bowl and the chicken quesadilla was delicious crispy golden outside and cheesy and flavorful inside. This place is definitely worth trying .

Yelp
The margs are great. Big size, and taste amazing. I'm a spicy marg girl always, so got the Diablo and wasn't disappointed!! I have gotten entrees before and don't remember them lol so they couldn't have been bad but nothing to write home about. I do enjoy their salsa a lot though!!! So chips and salsa usually! Their guac is also good! It's in fanuiel hall so it's touristy and the ambience sucks a bit because of that but it's not too bad. Friendly attentive bartenders, and love the open air, it's so nice on a warm day!

Yuna C.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick break after walking around Boston - this spot scratched our itch for spicy margaritas and the chips were perfectly salted and crispy! Shoutout to our bartender who offered us Tajin-dipped limes for our tequila shots!

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Boston trip! Took my friends from Virginia on a trip to Boston. Faneiul Hall is one of my favorite spots. I hadn't been in years. Last time I went it was Cheers. I knew that Cheers had closed down a while ago but I still like this spot, so I thought why not? So it's a tequila bar now. I'm not a huge fan of margaritas but my friends are sooo. They got margaritas, which they liked. I got a Guinness and 2 shots, one Irish cream the other Jameson. Yes, I did an Irish car bomb at a Mexican bar. I know it's odd but that's what I was craving. The bartender was very accommodating. I loved the ambiance. The giant hanging lanterns and candelabras were beautiful and gave it an authentic touch.

Kinjal S.

Yelp
Waited 10 minutes at the bar (I was seated) and no one even acknowledged me. The host was rude too. Come here if you want to be disrespected! 10/10 for rude service by host and bartenders

Vanessa E.

Yelp
Amazing nachos! Clear and spacious bathrooms. Server was very polite and attentive. The mija burger was very cheesy and could use a bit more salsa. Location is great for people watching. Definitely worth a visit if you need a break from walking.

Yelp
A friend and I went out for dinner after watching a comedy show. At this restaurant after we got thru eating I saw a rat run across the floor. I thought My mind was playing tricks on me so I froze. My friend kept asking if I was okay so I whispered to her. Afterwards I went to the bathroom and came back. And saw the same rat run back to where it came from and I squealed. I was so scared. So I told her "let's go let's get the check". So we got our check and went to see if we can check out early because our waitress was taking forever to return to our table. So our waitress Caitlin ended up meeting us at the register and that's when I discreetly told her what I saw. By my surprise, Caitlin's immediate response was "you see them in your home what's the problem ? You got them all in your home. " I was like "huh excuse me?" So Caitlin repeated it again and rolled her eyes and continued checking out our tab. That's when I told her that I was from Texas and where I'm from we don't have that issue. So Caitlin said in response " I'm sure you've seen worst in Texas". At that moment I got upset. I further told her that I lived in the suburbs. Caitlin then throws our cards down after checking us out, rolls her eyes & storms off. Her coworker heard her and froze and asked me if she should get the manager for me and I replied "yes please". I told the waitress that assisted us with the manager that our waitress was extremely rude & I mentioned that she had no right to speak to people in such a manner especially to customers. off and said you don't talk to people like that. So the manager gets to us and I told him and apparently she does this to a lot of people. This isn't her first time because he kept saying "I know I'll talk to her". It almost felt like he was brushing off her behavior and he was aware of the rodent infestation. He mentioned that they came from the patio outside. In my slight over 30 years in life, I've traveled both internationally & continental, and I have NEVER heard of this being an issue for a restaurant establishment. Typically where I'm from in Texas, any sightings of that will get your business shut down immediately. I was shocked by his response. He apologized and was like he'll talk to her. That's all we got. It was like slapping a band aid on & moving right along. I've never been to an establishment that had such horrendous customer service, had rodents running around and still managed to be OK with everything. My racist experience at this facility has allowed me to confirm that racism is real and certain people have no problem letting it be known. The food was okay except the rice I ordered was stale and tasted like it came from a box. My friends wings look nice & was ok. Overall the service is horrendous.

Yelp
Lots of seating for big groups , food was delicious although it took a while to get Tom the table. Our server Ronaldo was attentive of our large group and kept coming back to check on us. I had the chicken tacos , we were 8 people in our group almost everyone got either burritos or tacos . The veggie burrito bowl Was delicious too. We I'll certainly come back , was nice to cool off indoors in the Boston heat. Clean bathrooms.

Paulina L.

Yelp
Stopped by here for some lunch. We were greeted by the hostess who was very sweet. Although we enjoyed the delicious food, our service was not the best. We waited 20 minutes to place our order. The waiter was not very attentive. Our cocktails came out after our appetizer and meal. We ordered the trio dip, which was delicious. The queso was my favorite. The taco options were unique and quite tasty.

Brianne M.

Yelp
Went to get a drink and asked where the bathroom was. Was told outside the bar down the way. Got to the area and there was a gate blocking the bathroom. Went to go back to the bar and they had locked the door. Very rude and immature.

Tom M.

Yelp
On the surface MIJA is very inviting. But the invitation fades once you experience it even though it's a great atmosphere with most of the tables being outside. It's a very open space with sliding doors all along the length of the bar and beyond. As with most restaurants post Covid prices are out of control and ridiculous. I know it's not their fault because the food suppliers Jack their prices but that doesn't really make it OK. The service is very friendly and she was attentive and spot on and checked on my table probably three times. I ordered the Baja shrimp tacos from the menu, and unless Baja means deep-fried, there was nothing in the description that said the shrimp was deep-fried. Nor were there any options on how it would be prepared. The side of rice that came with it was so meager that they might as well have just left it out. I usually return a second time before reviewing a restaurant, but in this case, I am making the exception because it's not likely I will ever be back based on the distance and location. The cynic in me says that it's a tourist spot and they don't really care.

Kiana M.

Yelp
So we initially came here looking for Cheers, but they closed and this spot took its place. The tacos were absolutely DELICIOUS! I ordered the 3 taco plate for $21. I had the cheeseburger taco, tasted like a tiny big Mac on a soft flour tortilla. Also had the chicken tinga taco, this was my absolute favorite! The cilantro lime crema was to die for ! Followed by the carne asada, the cilantro relish just hit the right spot! It also came with a small side of super bland Spanish rice... My kiddo had the 2 taco plate. cheeseburger taco and carnitas. She tore her tacos up lol. The margaritas were $16 each and I didn't taste the tequila at all. I had the fresas Rita and my friend had the traditional. We both were big fans of it, but drank it anyways. We also ordered the unlimited chips and salsa for the table. That was $7. Honestly, I think it should have been complimentary like most Mexican restaurants. The salsa was pretty good. We had to track down a server to get a second serving, mind you were had a table of 7 ppl... All in all, I really can't complain. Food was good. Check it out if you're in Faneuil hall.

Matthew B.

Yelp
Nice patio for people watching and the drinks are pretty well-made. Not overly sweet well crafted. Service is a bit slow and I can't come in on the food but it's a great place to people watch and have a drink.

Angel P.

Yelp
Not a fan of the place. It is pricey due to being in a tourist area. We got the carnitas tacos and la paloma (spicy). Carnitas were ok, and not that flavorful. Spanish rice that comes with it was bland. The la paloma was good; I would only suggest getting drinks here. Service was slow, but they did seem understaffed. Our waiter was nice though.

Phil S.

Yelp
We're locals, and although we knew that anything at Quincy Market would be touristy, we slipped into Mija's for drinks, which was 100% perfect. My partner ordered a standard margarita, which was excellent and VERY strong. I had one of their IPAs on tap which was A+. The menu is basic Texmex with a few platos autenticos, and maybe we'll try something the next time we're there. Those who say that it's a "tourist trap" -- umm, it's touristy, but definitely not a trap. We truly enjoyed the ambience, and the bartender was a really nice guy. We spent $24 for drinks, which was is about average for bars downtown.

Mark L.

Yelp
How do you mess up nachos? The service here is next to non existent. The food is just OK. Do yourself a favor and find another place to eat. This place is a let down.

Leda K.

Yelp
I should have looked at the reviews before coming here. My bad. Terrible service as a solo diner. Took 20 min to get chips and salsa, no silverware or napkin. My server never came back to tell me they couldn't make modifications to my order. Never again. $16+ for a cheese quesadilla.

Rosanell J.

Yelp
The worst service I've ever recieved. It was a HOT evening, there were about 12 of us, with children and the waitress was annoyed that she had to serve us. We were respectful, quiet and prompt to order. She failed to check on us. We never got the correct drinks, when we explained we did not order that, she refused to take it back... we let it be but never coming back. Inwould like to point out that the host and security at entrance were very helpful with us, sat us down fast and even assisted with baby carriers

Tuli S.

Yelp
Mija is one of those places that I'd rather not go to but once in a while it's good for drinks! Nice atmosphere and it's more fun at night. People will dance on the side ! I came with a friend and we sat at the bar. All the bartenders were very friendly and the service was good. I got a tequila flight and it was definitely worth it ($18 for three shots + a small tomato chaser). The food was terrible! We had nachos and the shrimp tacos. The nachos were okay but it's a Mexican place soo a bit too Americanized. The tacos were awful but the shrimp were good. Never again (on food not in general).

Z R.

Yelp
Have you ever walked into a bar and get the feeling the young bartender is being watched (whether in purpose or not) by either her significant other or a guy that's willing to wait for her to finish her duties at midnight? I'm not saying that. However I will add that the service was a slow. Just there for drinks and the place was literally empty at 7 pm more or less. Nonetheless..... The wide selection of tequila at Mija Cantina and Tequila Bar is sure to impress any tequila lover. The bar offers a range of tequilas, from premium, aged varieties to more affordable options, allowing customers to find the perfect tequila to suit their taste and budget. Whether you're a seasoned tequila connoisseur or a newcomer to the world of tequila, Mija Cantina and Tequila Bar is a good place to experience the rich history and diverse flavors of this iconic spirit.

Talia P.

Yelp
Pricey!!! Tacos were good. I enjoyed them on a flour tortilla. The passion fruit margarita was delicious!!! The cup was huge!!! Lots of tequila selections. I ordered the carne asada, carnitas and shrimp tacos - the shrimp tacos were my favorite.

Leah H.

Yelp
Came here after already being out and it made my night even better. It went smooth to get a table and seating. The hostess was really flexible with where we could sit and it wasn't overly crowded, I went around 9:50pm. The music was a little loud to talk but the ambiance was lively. The prices weren't crazy but just enough. My plate of wings were $12 and I only had one drink that was $10. The food was good and filling but I was already buzzed before eating so my impression might be bias. I can see this place better off as a stop to eat in a night out, but I don't think I would recommend choosing it as a proper meal for a dinner date/first dates. Good place to eat with friends or a group.

Daisy V.

Yelp
Service was horrible. We set at the bar for 30 mins No one acknowledged us or even made eye contact with us. They claimed there Were no tables available but we see over 7 tables available. We are only a party of 2.

Reginald H.

Yelp
Actually, my review is half a star. Restaurant looked nice when I passed by so I decided to stop in. It was the day of the Celtics victory parade, but surprisingly, this place was not packed like other places. That should have been my first clue. There was a security guard at the entrance and he just held up his hand in a square. And I said do you need to see my id? He then said i was aggressive. Asking a question because I don't know what your hand signs mean is aggressive? Clue #2. Once inside, I sat at the bar, which took me maybe a minute to find a seat because dirty dishes and drink glasses were on most of the vacant seating areas. I found a seat near the end of the bar next to an area that hadn't been cleaned. I sat down and no one acknowledged me until maybe 2 minutes. Someone behind the bar handed me a paper menu. I looked over the menu and wanted to try a drink and a few items on the menu. However , after sitting there for 10 minutes and no acknowledgment from anyone behind the bar or otherwise, I got up and left. The atmosphere at this restaurant appears to be they don't want to be bothered and don't want your business. Fine, I will not give you my business. And I definitely will not be back. Do better and train your employees on customer service. If they didn't want to work that day, they should have called out.

Howard H.

Yelp
I stopped by here for a few quick drinks. Since it's a Mexican restaurant, I went straight for their Margaritas. I didn't order any food but the menu looks just like any other typical Mexican place. The decor looks nice and fancy. Most of the crowd looks like tourists from out of town like me. Service was ok. Since I was sitting at the bar, I was able to get bartenders' attention easily.

Ellie M.

Yelp
We wanted to have a couple drinks and maybe some tacos on a cold day. Our server Natalia was PHENOMENAL. She had fabulous recommendations on everything and gave us such personal care. She was the sunshine on a cold New England day.

Matt J.

Yelp
Wonderful service, good ambiance , not a long wait on the weekend. Chicken tinga tacos are top notch! And they offered a nice military discount. Definitely worth checking out

M M.

Yelp
I was called the C-word by another customer. The bouncer watched, then came over and told me and my friend I needed to find a way to get over it. It's not a safe place for women. It's a horrible place. Do not go if you have a wife, daughter, or sister. After being verbally abused, they didn't even bat an eye. It's dangerous.

Marco B.

Yelp
Nice spot in the city to dine and wine your wife or a casual date...i had the steak burrito with fries delicious presentation of all plates is amazing. Nice way to start our visit in boston

Ricardo R.

Yelp
Horrible service, if you want to sit there for 20 minutes and be ignored!! Go for it!!!

Alice J.

Yelp
REVIEW from the pre-pandemic era in early March. We were here to catch a Jet Blue flight. The restaurant was somewhat full, but we were quickly shown to a table (and it has a power outlet to charge our phones yay!). However, service was super slow. We waited forever just to place our order, and then more long wait and we were almost late for our flight. When food finally came they completely forgot about the nachos we ordered. She would not admit it though, and no apologies! Terrible service. Food was just OK. Very ... airport food. Was hoping for better (at least Mexican food should be tastey and not too hard to make)

John M.

Yelp
Mija Cantina & Tequila Bar is located in Quincy Market in Faneuil Hall. Obviously, this brings a lot of the tourist trade, but when I was here, I met a friend who moved up to Boston. Service was decent and the ambiance was pretty good, though the food was nothing special. I have had far better. My friend said they mainly come for the booze, but I just hadeaterand the mediocre, nothing special food.

Piper C.

Yelp
I walked in with my mom Sunday 09/24/23 at approximately 6:20pm. There were two hostess in the front glued to their phones, it took me greeting them in order to get their attention. They sort of looked at each other as in to say "it's your turn.." We then got sat and by 6:36pm servers kept passing by our table but not one of them came to us to ask us what we wanted to drink or even to let us know that they would be right with us. My mom and I then got up and went to the host stand to let them know that we were leaving because it seemed like no one wanted to serve us. She then said "Ok no worries.." To my confusion I then asked her "Did you let a server know that you had sat them?" She said "yes.." and we just stared at each other for a second and then I left. Do with that information what you want. The food is very good but the staff - not so much.

Bianca F.

Yelp
We came here for lunch after spending the day in Boston. Never been but I'm so glad we came ! We ordered the steak nachos and the street corn. Honestly best nachos I've had in a long time !!! Loaded with guacamole, cheese, beans, steak , sour cream and they remembered to put the jalapeños on the side just amazing taste all around. The street corn was amazing as well , I would be happy if I had those nachos once a week haha ! We also got the watermelon mojito , light and refreshing for a hot day! Our server was very nice and attentive. We will be back !

Sharrun N.

Yelp
This was my first time and I went on a recommendation of someone who has been often. We went on a beautiful day and were able to sit outside. My group enjoyed some lovely frozen drinks. For food, I got a burrito bowl and added grilled steak. It was excellent! I was getting full, but didn't want to stop eating it. Service was very good. Bathrooms were clean. I would go back.

Alex C.

Yelp
Food was pretty terrible. Good service, but the food was just bland and salty and weird? Idk it was really expensive and not worth it. Chips and salsa were good though I will give them that. Had the chicken tinga taco and cheeseburger taco and wish I just stuck to the chips

Evan G.

Yelp
Overpriced for what you get. Margs were just okay, and chicken was slightly under cooked. Also chips and salsa are not free.

Davetta K.

Yelp
I love this place! The food is yummy but not the queso! Chipotle has better queso However, you really can't go wrong with anything you pick. What I wanna know is if those chicken tacos from Halloween are on the menu because I didn't see them and those were amazing

Joan

Yelp
If they had 0 stars that is what i would give them! I was at Mija Cantina with a friend who was visiting from out of town, My friend is Gluten sensitive therefore we had to be sure no four, He ordered tacos with corn tortilla, which looked like flour to us we asked the waitress several times and she confirmed they were not flour, well my friend became very ill that evening so my guess is it came from the flour tortilla shell. We both ordered a white sangria which the menu stated contained fresh fruit I do not consider an orange slice on the top of the glass "fresh fruit" The sangrias were no more than watered down orange juice with a SPLASH of white wine, worst sangria i ever tasted!. and at 16.00 dollars each they should be ashamed of themselves, The food was so so nothing to write home about ! I would never recommend this place to anyone, my out of town friend has extremely disappointed and could not believe the quality of food and drink and also the uninterest of the waitress that he was gluten sensitive, Faneuil hall is a big tourist attraction and to get this quality of food, drink and service is unacceptable 70.00 dollars without tip was a bit outrageous !! on the way out i requested a manager and was told he was not there, I will be contacting this establishment for a refund for the absolute horrible experience and the impression that was left with my friend.

Chloe V.

Yelp
Food was alright, but service was very bad. They messed up our order twice and the waitress never apologized to us, but the manager did give us our food for free because of the multiple mistakes. I think they're short staffed so that could have been the reason for the mistakes, but wouldn't go back again.

Ann L.

Yelp
Service was slooooooow!!! Food was as ok but over priced. Won't be back. Stop by if you and 2 hours for tacos.

Ashley R.

Yelp
it was empty and the burger was horrible and the service was slow. it took 15 minutes to get drinks and the waitress never came to check on us. she wouldn't even take my burger off since it made my son sick.

Sharon L.

Yelp
Sat here ordered a drink was told to pull touchleas menu up and so prepared to order food because we are starving, to only be told by Hector-oh we don't have any food right now. We have sat here waiting to order food for 30 minutes before boarding this plane. Then he had the nerve to say I told you that when you sat down. Well He tor you didn't because the other guy seated us. Give me the check for this nasty strawberry Margarita and let's go find a restaurant that serves food!!! People all around have dirty plates on table so we are out!

Matthew V.

Yelp
Food came out so quick and when we thought it was gonna be good, it was all raw. Burgers were terrible. Service was nice at first but called us nasty when we couldn't eat the raw food they gave us. The waiter thought our burger was made medium when it was basically alive and came out the ground beef package. The ambience was good but the only good thing to distract us from the terrible food.

Monique H.

Yelp
I would not recommend. The salsa is bland and watery. The margaritas were strong and I'm not sure if it wasn't mixed well or if it was the tequila itself but I couldn't even drink it. The service was good, I can't complain about that but i definitely won't be back, there's so many other Mexican food restaurants in the Boston area.
