This place is honestly like a hidden gem. The aesthetic is very beautiful both inside and out. This place feels modern and the food speaks for itself. There’s very delicious vegan options here! I’ve been here about 4 times in the past 6 months because it’s flavor quality is superb and is not heavy on the stomach. The vegan enchiladas were probably my favorite but all foods were just as highly enjoyable!

A wonderful woman owned restaurant in a bustling strip mall with parking. They do a robust breakfast service but we happened upon this place on a Friday night for dinner (I believe they are only open Fridays and Saturdays for dinner service). We shared the squash blossom, esquites (fresh corn cut off the cob with chips), and breakfast burrito with egg (on recommendation by another helpful patron). The food was delicious. The server was wonderful. And the owner was on site and chatting with customers which was so lovely. Business was slow that night and I'd love to see more people try it out! Support local! Plus the space is beautiful and huge! Ideal for a party rental. They have a huge outdoor patio fit for small kiddos and dogs.

Chef and owner Katherine Gonzalez brought her expertise, culinary skills and her Mom's recipes to Culver City, featuring farm-to-table, fresh ingredients that are locally sourced. This was formerly the home of the vegan restaurant Sage, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found Mija at this lovely location, offering some vegan options. The breakfast burrito was delicious, and I'm looking forward to trying lots of other dishes on their menu, especially the Brioche french toast.

Google
My new favorite find in Culver City, incredible food as I work my way through the menu... it's so easy to order the same thing, yet the menu is so full of great options... Mom had a double berries scone for dessert, I got a second side of carrots 🥕😋, I have never really been a fan of cooked carrots... They are that good!!! I thought can I eat the salmon skin & realized I order salmon skin sushi... so I did... OMG just the best

Google
Cute little dog friendly restaurant with Vegan options but the food portions to pricing is expensive Ordered the queso fundido which was delicious I was a bit disappointed with the huevos rancheros!! They have a regular portion and a single portion and when I asked the waiter the difference in size he said the single has one egg so ordered the full portion but still got one egg and 2 tortillas. Called the waiter back to ask and he said yes that’s how the full portion is with only one egg and 2 tortillas at which point i was very disappointed and also did not taste great Also they have outdoor fans and one of them is super loud and gets annoying after a while

We came back to Mija’s. Last time we we here it was Mother’s Day. Today laid back Fri the 13th. Not a lot people which we like. Our waitress was very personable. The coffee was strong which we like. First time having GF breakfast. It is a place we’ll come again.

Yelp
Mija has been in my Yelp collection of places to try in Culver. It's in the center at the corner of Sepulveda & Washington. It has a spacious and comfortable outdoor heated patio and a huge indoor space. My first impression when I walked inside was WOW. The aesthetic and decor was stunning. It was comfortable and cozy but elegant and cool at the same time. I was greeted right away by Mel, with a friendly welcome and smile as she showed me to my table where I was meeting a friend for dinner and a few drinks. I'd studied the menu in advance- like I was preparing for the SAT exam, and I was really excited to finally be here. Mel was happy to make a few drink recommendations but being a creature of habit, I went with the strawberry margarita. I've got to tell you guys that the bartender deserves a hug and a raise because it was literally the absolute best margarita I've ever had. (and I've had more than a few). It was made with fresh strawberries, not some of that bottled syrup that you get in most places. After the first sip, I knew there was a second in my future! I was really excited to find out that they serve breakfast items all day, but I was in the mood for something a little bit more savory so we decided to share an order of the chicken nachos to start. Mel told us that everything was scratch made and they'd be happy to accommodate our request to make them with red and green sauce. The nachos came hot from the kitchen and I've got to tell you these nachos are a game changer. Most of the time when you think nachos you think bar food. These nachos were definitely next level! The chips were fresh the cheese was fresh. The chicken was moist and flavorful, and the sauces were definitely freshly made. I could hear the singing coming from my tummy as I was taking every bite. They are fork and knife nachos so you can get every single bite. For my entrée, I decided on Flautas - one potato with chile and one chicken. They were absolutely huge - accompanied by fresh salsa and rice. They were topped with arugula with a very light vinaigrette and pickled red onions. The same delicious moist flavorful chicken and the potato and chili were both delicious. Every single bite was perfect. The flour tortillas they were wrapped in were perfectly golden and deliciously crispy. Of course, at this point, I was on my second margarita because why not? Lucky for me that they didn't have straws because I would've probably had another! Did I mention that we scored $5 Happy Hour prices? Yay! Mija is definitely a place where you can know that every dish is made with intention and love. I'm even more excited about the fact that it's away from the hustle and bustle and chaos that is downtown Culver. It's right in my own backyard and easy to get to with plenty of parking. It's right off of the 405 at Sepulveda so it's easy access from just about anywhere. I don't know why this place is not packed because the quality and flavors of the food are beyond anything I could've expected and the prices are amazing. The service we received from Mel and the talented bartender are definitely worth a shout out. They were friendly customer oriented, and genuinely appreciative of our business. The next time you were looking for a casual place with excellent food and even better service in a great location, you have to come in and give them a try. You won't be disappointed and like me, you'll wonder why it took you so long to finally get there. Mija Handcraft Kitchen - thanks for the amazing food and drinks. It was an exceptional experience and you will definitely see me again soon.

Yelp
Loved the food, staff, and vibe at Mija. We stumbled upon Mija on the way to get some smoothies next door, but it looked and smelled so good that we changed course. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and had such great energy. It's evident that everyone is proud of the food they serve and the restaurant they work at. We shared a green smoothie that was refreshing and good...just not crazy sweet or flavorful. That being said, it also seemed way more healthy than other smoothies and we did like it. There was some extra, so our server was able to split it into two glasses for us which was unexpected and really nice. I ordered the farm bowl and my wife ordered the fish street tacos. Both were beautifully presented, fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I also loved how proud our server was to present the food to us and make sure we liked it. She definitely brightened our day and made us excited to try our meal. As you can see from the pictures, both dishes were really beautiful and everything is fresh and made from scratch. Special shout out to the chips and salsa which I could have kept eating for days...the salsa was smoky and flavorful with a nice amount of heat, and the chips were perfectly thick and crispy without being oily and heavy. The fish tacos were layered with flavor and felt light, and the bowl I had was well balanced and delicious. Nothing felt too "heavy" and the portions left us full and satisfied. Mija is also beautifully styled and welcoming. There is a great outdoor patio, and plenty of room for groups inside. I'm very glad we stumbled upon this restaurant and we were so impressed with everyone working there, especially the server helping us. We'll definitely be back and have already told others about Mija. Highly recommend for so many reasons, and there is so much on the menu we still want to try.

Yelp
I visited here a few months back based on reviews and found its aesthetic to be pleasant. Parking is on the street or inside next to restaurant. The entrance has seating outside with a sign introducing why the restaurant came to be. Classy. Entering the restaurant, there is a pastry counter that is nice. You can grab orders to go or a dessert. Walking to our wooden bench seats, we realized the table seats against the wall are hard and the booth is small. We sat in the middle area. I ordered chile releno and the appetizers were the tomato brushetta and chips with salsa and guac. My guest ordered the monte cristo. The chile releno had a beer battered cover and was laid in a pool of salsa verde. It was sour and tangy! I could not eat more than a bite. I never tasted beer battered, only egg battered. I explained to the waitress about my tastebuds and she offered a replacement. I got the huevos rancheros. Yummmm. It was the perfect combo of flavors. The tomato brushetta was just muddled warm tomatoes with light flavor. I could have saved some belly room and not ordered that. The chips and salsa perfecttt combo and flavors. My guest had the monte cristo and it greasy, fried hard with a little jam and not much meat. It was literally a well done reconstructed french toast.

Yelp
Cant really give this a full 5 star because it was a last minute impulse food venture. I will say that from my short lunch respite this past Friday...Mija does cut it to stop by again for another try at their menu and great service. Recommend so far: the Mija Torta. I had mine with pork and it was outstanding! Well plated/presented and filling. Loved every bite. The lemonade...refreshing. By the looks of things it seems this place can hold large gatherings. I found the decor to be tasteful and inviting. I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
I was excited to see a new restaurant take over Sage's old space and I was excited to try Mija. I finally got to for brunch and stopped in one day. The outdoor space is gorgeous, but I sat indoors because the morning was a bit chilly. The space is very nicely decorated. My server highly recommended the squash blossoms so I had to get those and I loved them! They were so delicious and honestly overshadowed the rest of my meal. The huevos rancheros I got were good too, but the squash blossoms were out of this world. Now I crave them. There's a parking lot outside the restaurant and the lot is sometimes busy. A great meal! I'd come back for more (especially for the squash blossoms).

Yelp
Mija Handcraft Kitchen has breathed new life into the location, proving to be a delightful upgrade from the previous establishment, Sage restaurant. Mija captivates with its fresh take on Mexican cuisine, infusing the menu with vibrant flavors and a variety of plant-based options that cater to diverse preferences. The ambiance is a breath of fresh air, embodying a sense of openness and warmth that invites relaxation and enjoyment. The decor is thoughtfully curated, creating an environment that feels both chic and welcoming. My dining experience at Mija was marked by culinary delight. I opted for the breakfast burrito, which was a hearty and satisfying choice, reflecting the care and creativity that went into its preparation. The menu, with its innovative offerings, speaks volumes about the love and dedication poured into each dish, ensuring a memorable dining experience. Mija Handcraft Kitchen has undoubtedly become a cherished spot, where the ambiance and culinary offerings come together to create a dining experience that is both unique and delightful.

Yelp
Service: 5 Food: 5 Ambiance: 5 Value: 5 We were looking for a place that could accommodate 6 people (including 2 kids) on a Sunday afternoon. This place hit the spot in many ways. I was impressed with the customer service from the moment we arrived. Our server was incredibly friendly and helpful as she guided us through the menu. We ordered the burger, chorizo tacos, burrito and enchiladas. Everything solid. Something that stood out was the microgreens in each of the plates. Overall I'm glad we took a chance on this place and I'm looking forward to returning.

Yelp
Came here this past Saturday for breakfast with a couple friends and their toddler. I was surprised to discover Sage had shuttered but excited to see something not strictly vegan took it's place. The servers while a bit slow were very nice and accommodating and happy to answer our questions about the menu. We tried a number of dishes and none disappointed! Everything was fresh and flavorful l. The queso fundido and french toast were two of my favs. My one gripe is I wish my chillaquilles had more tomatillo sauce but the flavor was still amazing. Parking is available in the lot and was easy on a Saturday morning but can get busy with so many businesses in the same lot. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of what they have to offer.

Lisi M.

Yelp
5 stars because: 1. it's great for gluten free people and people with allergies. i called ahead to make sure they could accommodate my little sister who has a severe nut and gluten allergy. the staff recognized us when we checked in and went above and beyond to accommodate her and make absolute sure she could eat the food-- not to mention the menu has a ton of GF options. 2. everything is farm to table and fresh af 3. good for groups, great vibe, service is impeccable and the owner/chef is walking around and you can tell she cares about the customer experience 4. the french toast was so good i had to confirm that it was gluten free i literally couldn't believe it

Yelp
I visited MHK this afternoon. It was pretty empty as they had just opened 8 days ago. I suggest you go soon and help them get up and running. I have no relation to the restaurant, but used to visit when it was Sage Bistro. I had the chilaquiles with red sauce and pork. It was pretty decent. I'm interested in going back and trying some of their other dishes.

Rolando C.

Yelp
Decided to try out this new spot with my parents in town. We went today for brunch, and we got a seat right away. The menu has a lot of options whether you want to go as light as steel cut oats/granola bowl or as heavy as a Green Chile cheeseburger. I decided to order the enchiladas which they have the option to either be pork, chicken or veggie option. I went with the pork option and the tomatillo sauce. My parents both ordered the Green Chile Monte Cristo, and the size alone is enough for two people. Sadly for them, it was too greasy, so they were not able to finish it all the way like I was with my dish. Service was great, it was a small staff today, so it was all hands on deck when the crowd started to get bigger after we arrived. The ambiance is great at this location, they even have outside dining that seems cozy. Parking wise, this restaurant is at Culver Crossroads, so there was plenty of free parking inside the lot. Overall, it would say it's worth trying out this new restaurant. I'd come here again just to try out the other dishes and see what they are like. Can't wait to see how they are doing down the road in a few months time.

Andee T.

Yelp
Amazing mexican influenced food with a twist of modern and California. The plates served were beautiful and tasted as good as they looked. The outdoor space is dog friendly, the staff was nice. I love their chilaquiles and the squash blossom. Kudos to their chef. I want to head back and have Guy Fieri sandwich melty yummy goodness I wish I ordered next time. It came by our table a lot and I wanted it.

Gregory J.

Yelp
Burrito and huevos rancheros! OM Gelicious! Great service. Nothing better after a carb-filled yesterday than a follow-up breakfast here'!

Whitney S.

Yelp
The food was excellent! The waiter was super attentive and was patient with our questions on drinks and food to order. The decorations were simple but fit with the style. My friends and I shared 2 appetizers, the Mija fritters and crispy black bean flautas. Both so delicious. For my main course I got the crab enchiladas and I cannot believe all you get for the price! I'll be sure to come back!

Brii B.

Yelp
My friend and I visited this place for dinner. Pros: I want to first say that the waiter Juan Carlos was wonderful. He was very accommodating and helpful. He made suggestions, and was really pleasant the whole time. The ambiance was nice but it was pretty empty for a Saturday night. Hope more people will visit and help this business stay alive. The food was delicious. We had the Queso Fundido, Sopa de Fideo and the floutas then tiramisu for dinner. My favorite was definitely the Queso fundido. Cons: I think some might find that the portion sizes on some dishes are on the small side for the dinner. I saw the salmon and the bolognese that another table had and they were really small for $27-29 plate.

Christino G.

Yelp
Tried Mija over the weekend! This Mexican inspired spot where Sage in Culver City used to be seems like it going to be a great place for brunch. The outdoor space is awesome. It's tucked behind a wall and away from the street so you won't be bothered by traffic or people walking by. The food was excellent! From the fried squash blossom appetizer to the entrees, everything was delicious. The Green Chile Hollandaise biscuits stole the show for me. The biscuits were surprisingly sweet and almost cake-like, topped with a couple pouched eggs. Flavors just infused so well! I had a reservation but not sure it was needed. We were seated with no problem and our server was amazing with perfect recommendations for the must try dishes. The place is very much new and there were a few minor things they were still ironing out. A few items on the brunch menu were unavailable and being moved to their dinner menu. Now I have an excuse to go back and check out the dinner menu though.

Kimberley O.

Yelp
Beyond disappointed! Came here on a Friday, should have known when the outdoor seating was completely empty and my daughter commented, "is anyone even here?" We were seated immediately and promptly ordered the chips/salsa/guacamole appetizer. While we waited for that to arrive I ordered the vegan bowl and my daughter ordered Mac n cheese w tomatillo salsa ON THE SIDE. Service was beyond slow and I don't blame our server bc he came by but it took over 30 MINUTES just to get our chips, salsa, and guacamole!! However, guacamole is a generous description for smashed avocado w lime. Even the addition of bland pico de gallo didn't help it. And, instead of spicy, the salsa was sweet. Our main entrees finally arrive, 45 minutes after we first sat down. As he set them down in front of us I immediately notice that the salsa we'd ordered on the side was slathered all over the macaroni and cheese so that was sent back. I took large bite of what I thought was hummus but no, was more avocado/lime. Confused bc I swore menu had said hummus so I looked on my phone and see that the vegan bowl was missing hummus, pickled cabbage, and watermelon radish. The server's response was "oh yeah, we're out of hummus." --information that should have been disclosed when we ordered. It took another 10 minutes to get my daughter's Mac n cheese w/o tomatillo salsa. Definitely would not call this Mexican or even Mexican inspired food. Bland, sweet salsa, smashed avocado instead of guacamole, dishes not prepared as described and SMALL portion sizes for the price. We most definitely will not be going back to Mija in the future.

Melody S.

Yelp
Had the fried squash blossoms. They were very good. Inside they had a date, corn and were fried in a beer batter. They were nice and crispy. The ambiance was great. I loved the outside seating area. It has a great vibe! The service was good but a little slow as we had to wait about 20 minutes for our bill and we had to wait some time for water refill.

Wolfie T.

Yelp
This may have been one of the worst overall experiences I have had going out in LA. Showed up for a 1pm reservation and the table was not ready. It was almost like they didn't expect us to actually show up. They scrambled for more than 20 Minutes to try and put the table together. When we finally sat down at 1:20, we sat down and noticed all the dishes and silverware were dirty and spotty like someone just ran water over it and called it clean. Drink: took more than 25 minutes to be made and when they came out they tasted like they were missing alcohol. Only 1 person from our group liked their drink and it was one of the only people who did not order an alcoholic drink. Food: Almost every item that was ordered was drowning in an overly salty green sauce. I sent back my dish, and my girlfriend didn't end up getting her dish because the server forgot that they were out of her dish. Many others from our group also had issues including overly salty food, messing up orders due to not writing anything down, and the food just straight up being BAD. Overall our entire group left completely dis-satisfied, hungry for more food, and wondering what the hell went wrong because during this entire 2 hour debacle, the restaurant was never more than 30 percent full. I will not be returning again.

Lauren W.

Yelp
Big fans of Mija!! I've been going to their sister restaurant Chula in La Quinta, CA for the past few years. I'm so happy they've expanded into the LA area with Mija's. Some of my favorite items from here are the huevos rancheros and the Chula enchiladas with shredded chicken topped with the tomatillo / green salsa. Just like Chula, Mija's ensures the highest quality ingredients. All of their salsas are homemade and so fresh! Katherine Gonzalez is the head chef and ensures food + service are top notch! Highly recommend for brunch and lunch

Sky M.

Yelp
Came here as a recommendation. Girls day at Mija was outstanding! Customer service was out of this world. Hazel went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was delicious the vibe was amazing. Im definitely going to bring my girls here to vibe with. Highly recommend.

Grizzo B.

Yelp
This is the prettiest restaurant I've ever been to. Everything from the water, to the coffee, each dish, has been well thought out in presentation and taste. Cannot wait to go back! The service could have been better. Luckily my friend and I weren't in a hurry but it took awhile to get checked on and to get our orders in. Once we were attended to, our drinks and food came quickly!

Stephanie R.

Yelp
I love this place!!! I don't live in LA anymore but my daughter does. When I visit her I always try to go to Mija. The food and drinks are OUTSTANDING!!!!!

Kadi A.

Yelp
This restaurant has always caught my attention on my drive home because of the pink. Today we finally went to see what it was about and were pleasantly surprised at how incredible the dishes were. I ordered the Mom's Chilaquiles and it was sensational! I legit ate all of it. My husband ordered the Huevos Rancheros which he said was really good and we both shared the Brioche French Toast, something that we've both never tried. That dish too was delectable! Our 10 month old also shared these dishes with us and was given her own bowl of berries. Overall 10 out of 10, I'd come again!

Claudia H.

Yelp
Back again for more deliciousness. Today I tried the monte cristo sandwich, a delightful mix of crunchy and gooey, savory and (just a little bit) sweet. My friend had the huevos rancheros again, so I'm thinking I should try those next. And now they have a liquor license, so a blood orange mimosa really hit the spot! Mija continues to hit it out of the park!

Kim W.

Yelp
There is nothing like good, friendly and fast service! The owner is sooooo sweet and thoughtful. Will most definitely be back for breakfast, lunch, and dinner #indoor #outdoor #veganfriendly

Bruce M.

Yelp
We live just a few minutes away and never notice this new place that opened up a few months ago. The menu looked really good to us so we went for dinner. This elevated Mexican style cuisine was really surprisingly great. So many things on the menu sound excellent so we will need to return. It did take a while to get our food and the place was not at all busy so that may turn off some people. But the food delivered the goods and it is a great atmosphere and pretty patio so just "chill" as they say and the food should be worth the wait. Full bar with many great sounding custom drinks and mocktails and all less pricey than most places these days which is a great thing. A really good scratch made fresh margarita for only 9 bucks! Glass of wine or beer for 6. Queso Fundido was excellent with the addition of a nicely seasoned turkey chorizo and good homemade chips. The Mija Friters were super . A nice melding of ingredients, lightly fried up. Everything so fresh. The fall salad was also excellent with a nice variety of ingredients and a delicious fresh citrus cilantro dressing that had a tartness that complemented the sweetness of the apples and dried cranberries. Chicken enchiladas in a fresh tomatillo sauce were also winners. Wife felt the sauce was a bit too salty, but still delicious. You could see the fresh ingredients in the sauce. Perfectly tart and just a touch of heat. Lots of nice white meat chicken and lots of cheese in and on the enchiladas. Boxed up half to take home. And the shrimp and bacon Chile relleno was a unique twist on a classic. The tomatillo sauce was studded with crispy bacon and the Chile was good size, nicely cleaned of stem and seeds and stuffed with really fresh and perfectly cooked shrimp and cheeses. It was then breaded in a light batter that was perfectly and lightly fried up. Not the dense doughy batter you normally would get so this was a much higher end preparation on this dish. I eat relleonos all the time and this was a winner. Not traditional but elevated. Lots of breakfast items served all day and for dinner as well, which sounded excellent. Really many restaurants you just have few things that sound good that you may order or always get. This place had 3/4 of the menu that sounded great that I want to try. My only concern is that on a Saturday night there were not many people here so I hope they are doing ok at other times. A place like this deserves to stay around. I'll be back...

Hurnan V.

Yelp
I came here for brunch with my family, and had a lovely time. The interior was nicely decorated, well lit, and spacious. It was a weekend, but also very empty as well. We had initially made a reservation online. It was nice that we were able to BYOB without extra fees. The food was also made quickly, and was very aesthetically pleasing. I got the mushroom toast, which was savory and an interesting presentation of flavors. The only thing was that the wait staff must be new or something- the service was very slow for an empty restaurant. All in all, a new find in Culver City for interesting flavors.

Karla F.

Yelp
Perfect ambiance, great service and amazing food. Totally recommended. I order Huevos Rancheros, mimosas, cafe latte and a maple scone and honestly it was all delicious all super fresh and delicious. A most for brunch in Culver City.

E. M. E.

Yelp
We found this place by accident while seeking morning coffee after a doctor's appointment. An actual sit down breakfast sounded better than the coffee chain microwaved meal we were originally headed for. This place is new, and so was empty when we arrived but I have a feeling that won't be for long as this place would be an excellent weekend brunch spot! The outdoor seating looks perfect for a SoCal summertime evening. I got the mushroom burrata toast and my friend got the chilaquiles. Both were winners! As they are new, they are taking suggestions to their menu, but I didn't have anything to add.

Christina D.

Yelp
After a long day traveling and finally landing at LAX, we knew we wanted to stop for a late lunch and found Mija's. So happy we did! So yummy! Such a great vibe inside, staff was friendly, met the owner.... but oh man, the food. Started with a small plate "eggroll", then moved onto the huevos rancheros and Mija torta. The side dipping sauce for torta had such a deep flavor . Ingredients are all fresh, can taste the quality. Innovative dishes. So unique and delicious. HIGHLY recommend!

Tammy B.

Yelp
I am hypnotized by Mija's chef! We have tried going to Mija's three times. Fortunately it was open this weekend and it was a treat! My family and I cannot wait to come back. Their French Toast is out of this world, it is moist, with cinnamon and fruity with homemade berry sauce. It did not have a chance with my family, we made it disappear in five minutes! The huevos rancheros with the tomatillo sauce is oh, delish! Their chicken or pork quesadillas are absolutely filling and exquisite. If you are ready for a treat, come one, come all. You won't regret it! Mija's is an epic experience! The ambiance is inviting and the entrance is homey! Mija's is here to stay!

Brittany K.

Yelp
Great service, not sure what the name of this dish was... but it was fantastic!!! The interior is so cute too!!! I really want this restaurant to have better business (we went on a Saturday before closing and we were the only ones in there.)

Starr J.

Yelp
Ive come to this location many times since their recent opening (they're just that good)! Everytime I come the girls at the front are so friendly and attentive as well as the guy at the bar. It's such a cutesy little place with the natural wood and pink everywhere. I absolutely LOVE the vibe! Very neat and clean. Now on to the food! The veggie Moms Chilaquiles are to die for! I've gotten them three or four times so far and they hit EVERY TIME! The Veggie Burrito is also very filling and delicious. I told a couple of my coworkers about it, so they went to try it and said the same thing! This most recent visit, I was craving pancakes so I gave them a try and no surprise -- they were scrumptious also! For drinks, I did try a couple mocktails. I don't remember which ones, but don't worry, ALSO yummy! I gave the Tres Leche Coffee a try twice .. it was just okay. Overall, this place is refreshing, cute, the food is awesome and the service is always on point! Would definitely recommend for you and your friends!

I went here this evening with my son and our friends to celebrate being together again since we just got into town- ultimately, we will never come back. It wasn't terrible, but it was NOT impressive, especially for the price. 135$ for a mediocre experience is such a let down... everything looked incredible, but bucatini dish was very lackluster. The salmon dish was okay, I liked the fish but it was certainly over cooked, and the parsnips weren't fully mashed.. there were some very tough pieces I couldn't even eat. The carrots tasted like the oil they were cooked in- just weird and kind of gross. The best part was the freshly cooked chips and salsa trio. We all liked that, but the actual meals we ordered were disappointing. The waiter was very nice but his cologne overwhelmed everyone. Lastly, there were VERY FEW patrons and it was a Saturday.. telling. Good luck, Mija.

Yelp
I'm gonna go straight to the point: We tried 4 different items from the menu and all had one thing in common: made with minimum amount of effort. I tried chorizo burrito and it felt like they put all the leftover from other tables together and put some veggies on the bread to make it presentable. Ceasar salad was even worst. Vegan salad was also terrible, no taste no nothing, a bunch of vegetable thrown in a bowl. No creativity at all. I did not want to write this review but the owner claimed that they would replace the meal if we didn't like them, and that's what exactly we did, replacing Ceasar salad with vegan salad. Point is: when everything is tasteless and awful, changing meals wouldn't solve the problem, going to another place solves the problem. Owner also said that they wanted to comp the table but we were gone by the time she showed up. So here's a little fact: I complained before we even get the check, she had all the time before bringing us the check and taking the signed receipt to comp the table and she didn't. Even worst, I was outside smoking and talking with my friends for 10-15 minutes after we left and we were in direct sight had she gone to the table looking for us. So here's my question for the owner: if I go ahead and dispute the charges you'd be cool right? Cause that's what you wanted to do and didn't find us. I'm not gonna dispute the alcohol we had just the food.

Yelp
Come for the vibes, stay for the squash blossoms. Fr tho this place is gorgeous! Would definitely come back to get drinks with friends. The squash blossoms were soooo good 12/10. We ordered the chilaquiles (red sauce) and the vegan tamale too but both were too salty. The corn was pretty good but I've had better elsewhere.

Yelp
Been here twice and food is mostly delicious. The brioche French toast is my favorite but everything is good - except would skip the torta (it was meh). While our server was friendly, the service is very slow. No coffee refills, no one comes to check on the table, and one of the meals came out over 10 mins behind the rest. There were very few customers both times we went, so it's not like they were short-staffed. Regardless we'll still come back, but they need to pick up the service (the table next to us was also frustrated that they couldn't seem to find anyone throughout their meal).

Yelp
Adorable and delicious. Very creative Mexican inspired cuisine, delightful beverages and wonderful pastries and desserts. LA patio dining at its finest, tucked into a secluded plaza...go figure!

Yelp
Unfortunately, my sisters and I did not have a great experience at this location. The food looks way better then it tastes! I will say that the Shrimp tostadas in the appetizer section were actually good! The ambiance was also beautiful, and our waitress was awesome!!!! I ordered the chicken and waffles and it had absolutely no seasoning, dry, and tasted super MID! The Tres Leches iced coffee also lacked in flavor. Also, they were short staffed so a lot of our order was wrong and missed which made the wait time longer. Seemed this way with the family next to us as well. Might be back and give dinner a try!

Yelp
This place is so poorly managed. We arrived no one asked us if we wanted a table for fifteen minutes they let the clock burn. Then twenty five minutes later the chef comes out to say no more sitting, their service is atrocious, they need to get it together. For now avoid them like the plague. Their vision is cute but they don't seem to be able to deliver in it? Once they begrudgingly sat us they served a party their food before ours it was a full hour before our appetizers came out from the time we walked in the door and there were only three others tables in the place. The server Juan Carlos was amazing but it was all beyond his control it's because they aren't properly resourced to open but are open?

Yelp
I visited Mija for lunch with a coworker and had a lovely experience. The space is really big and decorated beautifully. Aaron was our server and he was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We split the chicken spinach wrap and the fish tacos, and also had a side salad and potato soup. All of the items were well balanced in flavor and generous portions. We really loved the sweet pepper aioli in the wrap and the house made tortillas that the tacos came on. Would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!

Yelp
Had Green Chile Monte Cristo, Beet Salad, Fried Green tomatoes. Everything was really good and different flavors. Strawberry lemon aid was very sweet and good. Nice patio, inside looks really nice. Easy parking in the back.

Yelp
This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. First, I had a reservation but it took them an additional 20 minutes to get our table ready despite no other customers in the restaurant so it wasn't busy. Then it took forever to get our drinks, and half of them were made and then left at the bar for over 20 minutes. We eventually just went over and brought them to the table ourselves. The food took even longer to come, we sat down at 1:30 but didn't start eating until 2:30. Then when it came out it was awful. They were somehow out of eggs despite half their menu being breakfast items... What was so weird is there were only 4 other groups at the restaurant so it wasn't busy at all. None of the staff seemed to care that things were so delayed and wrong and they made us feel like we weren't wanted there. Will definitely not be going back.

Yelp
The place has a cozy outdoor and indoor dining area. The personnel was pleasant and charming. However the service was long and slow. Food was so so and their house coffee tasted like water.

Yelp
Every dish we tried was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We tried the stuff blossoms, tamale bowl and the photo is of the green chili monte cristo which was my favorite.

Yelp
The vibes were immaculate. I had the opportunity to come here for brunch during their soft opening and the wait staff was friendly. Outdoor seating is gorgeous and can we talk about the squash blossoms! They were amazing. I highly recommend coming here for that. Other dishes we got were the vegan tamale, chilaquiles, and esquite. These were good too but a bit too salty. Overall, it's a 4/5.

Yelp
so lovely!! my family were looking for something nearby since another restaurant was closed and we came across mija. for starters, the decor was SO CUTE!! i love the ambiance, cozy couches and pillows, mixed plates and warm lighting, overall gorgeous decor. the service was so lovely too!! i unfortunately didn't get the name of our waitress (she was a young woman with short brown hair) but she was so sweet (thank you for humoring my horrible jokes) and made sure we were completely satisfied with our food. as for the food, i love!! i ordered the chicken strips with waffles which hit the spot for me, the waffles were fluffy and had cinnamon. my sister had the mija burger which was ginormous and she loved it. overall, definitely give this place a shot! it's cute and cozy with good food and good vibes.

Yelp
I was a bit sad when "Sage" left this location, so I am very happy now that "Mija" moved in here right away. The cuisine is focused on finely crafted, artesian food, packed with solid flavors, all made with/from super fresh ingredients. No matter if you come for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the plates look creative yet not overdone and taste super yummy.
