Mika Coral Gables - Review - Coral Gables - Miami - The Infatuation

"You’re not coming down with a sinus infection. The reason you’re having a hard time tasting the food at Mika is because most dishes here lack seasoning. The attentive and knowledgeable service doesn’t make up for the bland food, but it does make this a viable option for a business dinner with your boss who’s on a low-sodium diet. Still, it’s hard to justify paying $96 for a soggy veal parm even with a corporate card. Even the interesting-sounding dishes here, like their lobster and burrata, fall flat. Not because they’re untraditional or have conflicting flavors, but because you can’t taste the lobster. These dishes are as bland as the cream walls and brown ceiling that surround the dining room, and there are too many better Italian options in Coral Gables to pay attention to this place." - Virginia Otazo

Mika Coral Gables - Review - Coral Gables - Miami - The Infatuation

"Mika is a big, new Italian restaurant in Coral Gables offering “tastes of the Riviera”. Open for lunch and dinner, the menu has pasta, swordfish, steak frites, and roast chicken. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Mariana Trabanino

What an amazing dining experience! We have gluten allergy and the waiter and chef went the extra mile to accommodate us. The food was perfect, we loved the bolognese with gluten-free pasta and the chicken. That said, the truffle potatoes purée was out of this world! We also thought the Panna cotta was extraordinary, and the dark chocolate mousse cake was wonderful. We believe this to be one of our best dining experiences in all of Miami! My wife and her friend also wanted to mention that the Ginger & Lemon margarita and Negroni were a must!

I'm still reeling from the incredible meal I had at MIKA, the new restaurant on Ponce de Leon, Coral Gables. From start to finish, every aspect of our dinner was absolute perfection. Very sweet hostess and real Italian waitress. The evening began with the most tender and flavorful octopus appetizer with Spanish chorizo, this is a must! The pasta dish that followed was cooked to perfection, with each bite a masterclass in texture and taste. The salmon, which boasted an exquisite flavor profile that left me wanting more. Every element of the dish, from the seasoning to the presentation, was expertly executed. Our Italian waitress provided top-notch service, attending to our every need with a warm and welcoming smile. The staff's attention to detail and genuine passion for the food they serve is truly evident. And just when we thought the evening couldn't get any better, we were treated to a complimentary glass of limoncello that was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. I love the selection of red wine by the glass. In short, MIKA Rest is a must-visit destination for any food lover. With its exceptional cuisine, outstanding service, and cozy atmosphere, this restaurant has earned a loyal customer in me. I'll be back, and I'll be bringing the rest of my family! Chic place for a date. Parking in the street, valet or in the garage.

Mika is an absolutely spectacular spot in Coral Gables. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is elegant and inviting. The service was outstanding — attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the entire evening. The food was truly delicious. I had the best risotto I’ve ever tasted — perfectly cooked, creamy, and full of flavor. Every dish we tried, from the appetizers to the main courses and dessert, was beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. The cocktails were also top-notch, crafted with great attention to detail. Special mention to our server, who made the whole experience even more enjoyable with excellent recommendations and impeccable service. Mika is definitely a place I’ll be returning to. Highly recommended!

I did my research before selecting this place for my birthday dinner, and it lived up to my expectations. The food was amazing, the staff was thoughtful and the place was just fabulous. My only complain would be that you do not get to choose where you sit, even if you made a reservation. But besides that, it was an amazing experience. PS. The octopus appetizer is a must

We had the pleasure to visit MIKA on Monday and were so impressed by the quality and innovative character of the food! Having visited various restaurants around the world with Michelin stars and recognitions, we understand the value of creativity on the table. MIKA really surprised us, we ordered all of the chef’s special creations, albeit with some reluctance because we had other menu items in mind, but being open to suggestions did not disappoint. The lobster burrata and the Hamachi were flavorful, yet light. The octopus fusilli was so interesting, it is really like a Bolognese, but not quite. We opted for the budino, again as a recommendation of our waiter, and it was also delicious. The cocktails are craftly prepared, so we recommend trying them out if that’s your vibe, but they wine list is extensive. They also have by-the-glass options. The décor blends traditional with elegant, so we suggest dressing the part. Lastly, the attention is top notch, although we received some unsolicited advice as to how to finish a cocktail. I didn’t take it personal, but I was a bit surprised by the “you are supposed to…” in a restaurant of that quality. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the experience, the staff is professional, and the food is worth every single dollar.

MIKA is hands down the best restaurant in Coral Gables right now! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a beautiful ambiance that sets the perfect tone for a fantastic dining experience. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the pasta with truffles—simply outstanding. Desserts are just as impressive, making it impossible to leave without indulging. The service is exceptional, with every detail carefully attended to, especially by the manager himself, who ensures a top-tier experience. Another standout aspect is —unlike many places, it's music is set at the perfect volume so you can actually enjoy a conversation with your friends without shouting. If you're looking for a restaurant that delivers on every level—food, service, and atmosphere—MIKA is the place to be. A true gem in Coral Gables!

We visited Mika on May 9, 2025 to celebrate my son, Charles’ graduation from the University of Miami. From the time we entered the restaurant, we were treated with sooo much love. Everyone was so welcoming. The food was superb. I ate food I’ve never eaten before and it was delicious. The servers were personable and very attentive. I will definitely be back when I come back from Maryland to visit. Thank you Gimena and staff for your hospitality! And most all for making this a night to remember! 🧡💚

Amazing Dining Experience with Exceptional Service! I had a fantastic time at MIKA! The food was delicious, the ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. Our server, Marija, was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made great recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning!

Yelp
We went to celebrate my wife's birthday, and it was well worth it. Everything was exceptional, but you must try the bluefin tuna carpaccio, and the Dover Sole. We also had the octopus and the lobster ravioli. Nice portions, great service with some great music.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at MIKA Coral Gables! From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch. Our server, originally from Montenegro, was an absolute delight - so friendly and attentive, making our visit even more enjoyable. We tried the Lobster Burrata, which was out of this world - a must-try! The Veal Parmigiana was incredible too, and honestly, it's enough to feed four people, so be sure to bring your appetite (or friends). Overall, it was a fantastic meal with great service in a beautiful setting. I'll definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Stuck between a 4 and a 5 star here. The ambiance is beautiful. The decor is amazing. Service was great. From the gentleman who greeted us with champagne to our server throughout the meal. Highlights food wise, the spaghetti with crab and caviar and the lobster burrata to start. (Oh they served a tasty bread to begin our meal). Wasn't crazy about the dessert or the price tag. Rarely comment about the price, but did find it a bit higher than the usual for these type of restaurants. Ok...I'll give it a 5!

Yelp
I met my friends for lunch at Mika & it was perfect ! The restaurant is beautiful, spacious and clean. It's perfect for groups ! Our waiter, Luigi was fantastic! He guided us with suggestions of what to order & everything turned out delicious and plentiful. Once we were seated, they served us focaccia bread with a delicious ricotta spread drizzled with olive oil & molten salt & pepper. We had a choice of a 2 or 3 item pre fix meal. Us 3 girls opted for the 3 course , as we didn't know they were going to gift us a sweet treat at the end of the meal ! I enjoyed the ceaser salad ( which i immediately boxed over 1/2 of it because it was a lot )! I would order it again. It was the perfect amount of everything on fresh , crisp butter lettuce. I went with the waiter's suggestion of salmon and it was delicious, too. It wasn't the version with crispy artichoke you see on the regular menu , though. For dessert I chose the pistachio gelato and was pleasantly surprised that it literally tasted like cold pistachios! ( not flavored ice cream ) . The waiter said , of course , it's authentic! I guess we've all gotten used to chemicals & artificially flavored foods in America , it mind blowing when you actually eat something and it's exactly what it says it is!! My friend Erin ordered the salmon as well but got a different salad with hat she enjoyed. It came with mixed greens and a toast with burrata. She had the chocolate molten cake ( i can't remember the specific name of it , but it looked perfect)! Chen got the beef carpaccio, the ravioli with mushrooms and the vanilla gelato. We all decided we would like to return again for our next gathering! * bonus surprise ~ they brought limoncello and mini gelato cones for the table , before the check! So , if you don't think you have room to order dessert , you still end you lunch or dinner on a sweet note ! Great restaurant! Give it a try for yourself :)

Yelp
We went for dinner and it was really nice. The ambiance is nice since there is soft lighting and table lamps. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered our drinks while we looked at the menu. We shared some appetizers- the lobster burrata, the grilled octopus with little grilled potatoes, the aqua wahoo pazza and the langoustine- all were delicious. For the entree, we shared the veal parmigiana and even though I'm not a big fan, it was really good. For dessert, we shared the chocolate Budino and it tasted really good. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
This review is for the bar at Mika. The restaurant opened last week an I have visited the bar three times already so I think I will call myself a fan. The Gables needed a place like this, it's elegant, oozing in ambiente, and has a wonderful bar. If you want to dine, the dining room is stunning. And if you want to grab a cocktail and people watch the bar offers that as well. We love a restaurant with range. I am in love with the Mika Martini. As someone who loves a dirty martini, this cocktail is a little different. You can order it with gin or vodka and it comes with a caperberry as well as lemon rind. Something about it is the perfect balance of refreshing as well as briny, and I am obsessed. The entire cocktail menu is interesting, although I am pretty hooked on the Mika Martini at the moment. I have also tried an espresso martini, and their version of the old fashioned. Both were great. While I haven't dived into the full menu, I ordered the pan con tomate last night to snack on and it was divine. I will need to come back to have a proper meal, but my experiences at the bar have been wonderful. The bartender's - specifically Stuart and Clarissa - are super nice! If you plan to dine here I would suggest making a reservation as it is definitely a hot spot in the Gables.

Yelp
Going with 4.5 stars for now, possibility of upgrading to 5 stars. Nice chill ambiance, though there were a couple of name dropping golddiggers who were full of themselves seated to my left at the bar, which is where I chose to eat dining solo. Beautiful design--love how they actually give you space seated at the bar rather than trying to squeeze an extra chair or two in there with someone practically ending up on your lap as occurs at some other restaurants. Looked like former NBA star Ray Allen was present this evening at the bar as well. Good wine list, with bonus points for having a couple of Bertani, Dal Forno and a Quintarelli Amarones on the list. Wines by the glass are a little pricey but the reasonable $16 Pinot I had was quite good. Ordered the tagliatelle. The noodles were nice and soft while the meat sauce had an excellent flavor. Fairly priced at $28. Asked for and received some bread that was good as well....without a doubt you must order their Caesar Salad--best in Miami. Could use some work on the dessert menu. Unless I missed it I did not notice a tiramisu offering while the other items seemed fine but I was not in the mood to spend $16-18 on a dessert--I opted for a second glass of wine instead. Very classy place. The dining area reminds me of a lobby area you would find at a classy hotel or a fine Jean-Georges restaurant. I would definitely come back here again. Note: would be nice if they added some hooks below the bar where people could hang an umbrella and/or ladies can hang their purses.

Yelp
MIKA Coral Gables delivers a chic and upscale dining experience with a stunning ambiance, marked by warm tones and elegant décor. The meal started strong with soft, flavorful focaccia bread and an octopus appetizer that was perfectly tender, complemented by crispy potatoes and a delicious sauce. The drinks impressed, quite strong, spicy and were beautifully presented. For entrees, the branzino stood out for its massive portion size and delicious preparation, while the chicken entrée was equally satisfying. However, the pricing structure could feel steep, with sides not included and ranging from $12-$20, on top of entrées priced around $40-$70. There were entrees in the near $190 range as well. Service was a highlight, with Jimena and Alina providing exceptional hospitality and attentiveness, elevating the overall experience. It's worth noting that MIKA has only been open for about two weeks and is still working through minor kinks, but their potential is clear. Desserts looked tempting but weren't sampled this time. Overall, MIKA excels in quality, presentation, and service, making it a great choice for a special occasion or upscale night out.

Yelp
The place is beautiful. The less expensive wine was approx $200 , considering the chef and expectation of excellent food I was very disappointed that the pasta was NOT al dente as simple as that!! Food was ok. All openings are difficult , I will be back for a 5 star review.

Tammy E.

Yelp
Best Italian food we have had in the USA, reminded me of Italy. Beautiful restaurant. The staff, hostess, servers and manager were all very friendly. For appetizers we had the BLUEFIN TUNA CARPACCIO and a Caesar salad. Entrees Dover Sole and the Truffle prosciutto parmigiana cream sauce. By Dino for dessert. All were amazing. Will definitely come again when we are back in Miami.

Yelp
I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent visit to Mika on Valentine Day. I had high expectations based on location as well as some decent reviews. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of them. From the moment we arrived, the service was noticeably slow. The waitress made us order everything together and gave little to no time to peacefully go over the menu. Once food was ordered it took even longer for the food to arrive. When it did (1 hour later) the dishes lacked flavor, suggesting they were n

Yelp
The food was mind blowing! Everything we ate was a 10/10! The octopus, the filet, the tagliatelle yummm I haven't had octopus anywhere like at Mika's! I've been to Greece and it wasn't as good as here! The focaccia with ricotta to start was amazing! The ambiance is beautiful! The drinks were outstanding! I wish success to this restaurant bravo!

Yelp
Wow. An outstanding experience. Chef White has a wonderful menu. A Michelin Star restaurant in disguise. The service was amazing with or server and host going out of the way to make us feel special. Will definitely recommend and return. Congrats Chef White.

Brian G.

Yelp
We stumbled upon Mika and went in to check it out. Well $32.00 for an artichoke for a MAIN dish and $88.00 for veal chop parmigiana left us scratching our heads. We eat out several times a week and by no means are we cheap. I wish you luck but you will face strong head winds. Oh and the wine list is ridiculously priced for a mediocre offering at best.

Yelp
We ate here on New Year's Eve. Our server was Evan. He took really good care of us and made great recommendations. The bread and the ricotta spread was a great start. We had the grilled octopus, gnocchi, and the swordfish. We both got gelato for dessert: pistachio and torrone. 10/10. Everything was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. I can't wait to go back and get the veal parmesan.

Fernando C.

Yelp
10 / 10. All the way around incredible food, service and atmosphere. The octopus appetizer and the gnocchi were amazing. Will be back.
