"This old-fashioned drive-in has been serving burger combos in Oregon City since 1988, with locations in Milwaukie and Tigard, as well. Mike’s is known for its hamburgers, but the drive-in menu also incorporates everything from fish-and-chips to battered onion rings. Perhaps the ultimate move at Mike’s is to opt for a milkshake — the restaurant offers more than 30, including ones made with Oregon berries." - Michelle DeVona, Janey Wong

I've been going here for over 10 years. It is one of our favorites places to go. Probably the best milkshakes in Oregon. I love their fries. In the summer it's fun to sit outside on the picnic benches. Every time we are in Oregon City we come here for a meal!

Google
Have always enjoyed this location. Let alone regardless which location you go to. Food and Service is pretty consistent. Very nice atmosphere and always a welcoming environment for everyone. (The Blue Bacon Burger Basket is wonderful. Same with the rest of their menu)

Danielle Brown

Google
We love Mike's! The service at this location was not great this time but we just let it go. Also noticed the mushroom Swiss burger didn't seem to have as much cheese or mushrooms as we it usually does and over all it was more bun than burger. We will of course be back and can't wait for the milwaukie location to reopen!

Google
Hamburger wasn’t fully cooked. When I talked to the shift leader she said she would fix my order. She pointed out to the cook what was wrong. The second burger had a hair in it. The cooks don’t ware gloves or hair nets. The lady was rude when I informed her of my order and she liked in customer service to other customers as well. Would not recommend this location.

Google
The burger, I had the bacon cheeseburger, and they do not scrimp on bacon so that's awesome, the rest was average, it was a good burger, but not necessarily memorable. The onion rings, great flavor, not a great fry, they were slightly soft, and really over greasy. The fried shrimp, this is why we are at 4 stars, these were amazing! The shrimp were crispy, tasty, and the cocktail sauce was perfect. Cheap soft serve cones! Decent ice cream, not overtly sweet, and for 1.49, it was great. The people were super friendly, easy ordering online and pick up inside, and the inside is super cute with classic diner decorations. Good place, may go back for the fried shrimp, but not much else. Also a little pricey for this type of fare in my opinion.

Google
The staff was friendly. The food could have been better. They have an extensive menu. I saw a lot of people getting the soft serve. It did look good and has some wonderful options. The onion rings and mushroom fritters were actually pretty good. The others could have been better. This isn’t really a drive-in place where you order from your car. You do have to park and go in. The food is worth trying as a snack rather than a meal.

We been there Sunday 4pmish. After we ordered strawberry milkshake, Chocolate Milkshake, 1 vanilla sundae and fries. All of sudden 20people came in there at same time and very crowded and super busy! (Not enough seat and tables) they’ve Understaffs and working so hard but people were waiting and kinda hangry. 4pm winter of course dark outside the northwest and people want to eat dinner immediately. Crews look like a stressful and overwhelming. Very cute place and foods were pretty good but weekends they need more staffs or manager has to control the between the workers and customer services. I saw the crews they looked like a teenager or early 20s young people. They don’t know how to handle that many people and customers services.

Google
Was our first time there and our last the food was ok but my claim strips were cold and my marionberry milkshake didn't have any flavor just taste the ice cream. My hamburger was ok the service was ok we walked in and they had two cashier's we said we hadn't been in and we were new the girl just looked at us and goes what can I get you no hi welcome in our anything. We spent over 46 dollar for two hamburger a drink a shake and a order of claim strips by them self. It not worth the money we got our order to go and it was just thrown in the bag. We will just find a new little Burger place.

Yelp
Mike's is a small chain of Drive-in like restaurants in the Portland area. We discovered a couple of years ago that Mike's has huckleberry milkshakes available for a period of time in the summer. Since we both love huckleberries we always have to make a quick stop when visiting the area if they are available. Before we left North Carolina we called ahead and learned that Berry Fest begins June 1st of each year and they offer milkshakes made with strawberry, raspberry and marionberry. Huckleberry Berry Fest starts July 1st. This visit we decided to stop at the Oregon City location. We arrived about 3pm and although there were several cars parked outside, the inside seating area was pretty much empty. We opted to order at the counter and have a seat at one of the interior tables instead of ordering online, picking up at the window and eating in our car. We were hungry from flying a majority of the day so in addition to the milkshake we each ordered hamburgers, one bun less option which was served on lettuce and had various veggies. The burgers tasted yummy but the tater tots tasted off to me. The best part was for sure the milkshakes...always delicious! If you have never had a Huckleberry or a Huckleberry milkshake, this is something you need to try. They are absolutely amazing!

Yelp
I think this establishment is a little above average. 3.5 is more accurate. Ok menu Cool atmosphere Nostalgic scene with drive in parking, order from your car ( via QR Code/app), pick up window, picnic tables, and cheap ice cream cones. The people are a little dry. I had fish and chips( swapped for fried mushrooms) with a side fried clam strips. The freshly fried cod was not seasoned. The mushrooms were tasty. The calm strips were muh and cold. My hubby had a burger and fries. He gave it a 3/5. Not the best, not the worst.

Yelp
The soft serve, shakes and treats definitely keep me coming back when I get a sweet tooth. Their food is pretty good for a drive in ( fast food ). The customer service isn't the best. It just feels a little standoffish and unsettling seems to be because the stress level is high BUT I've always been treated well and high enjoy my cheep treat! $1.50. soft serve swirl cone 10/10.

Yelp
Bacon cheese burger, shrimp, and onion rings. The burger is a classic example of a Mayo burger, though you may not remember it. It's good, not exceptional, but fine. The onion rings were soggy greasy. The flavor was fine, but too greasy. The shrimp, I will not forget. This is some outstanding frying of breaded shrimp. The shrimp was near perfect, the only shortcoming was I didn't order enough. The cocktail sauce they brought with it, was pretty good lots of horseradish, tomato goodness. It's a classic drive up and sit in your vehicle type restaurant. The service was quick. The food was fresh, everything looked clean, the people were nice, parking was easy and I'm in a big truck. This place is definitely worth the shrimp. If I'm in Oregon city, and craving shrimp, this is where I'm heading. Can't wait to try the rest of the seafood.

Yelp
Have been coming here since I was a kid and it's still the same ol reliable Mike's drive-in. The burgers are big and delicious, fries are fresh, my only quip is charging 40c for a small container of dipping sauce. Besides that, eating outside is fun in the summer and the service is always very friendly. :)

Matthew W.

Yelp
So after a day of fishing I got my food to go and it was very delicious. I got two cheeseburgers and a side of tots. The people that worked there helped me out with my order and very happy to do it. This place was cool in a way that it was an old school drive in. Will definitely be going back to try their ice cream and shakes.

John W.

Yelp
She had the cheese burger, fries and a cookie($14.50). (All "baskets" come with fries or tots and cole slaw or a cookie). He had the three piece cod($17.50) with onion rings(plus $3) and cole slaw. The burger was large, with all of the fixens(lettuce, tomato, onion & pickle), as it should be, and plenty of bacon. The fries were cold and stale. The cod was golden brown and pleasantly crunchy outside, however soggy mush inside. The onion rings were limp and soggy, not crunchy at all. I squeezed almost a table spoon of oil out of a single onion ring. This entire basket was inedible, I do not recommend. It is a dive drive-in but for the money we wasted here, I can not think of a single reason to return or recommend that anyone else should.

Yelp
This is the most important Burger stand in the Oregon City/Portland area. I've been going to this burger joint since 1989. With my Grand parents, my parents, myself, and now my family. The burgers are to die for. Double mushroom Swiss is my fave. And try a strawberry banana milk shake. Friendly service, worth the wait, and in warm summer days and nights, you can eat outside.

Miss P.

Yelp
Always a fun experiance. Especially when the suns out! This place brings back memories and still makes the freshest burgers in town.

Yelp
What happened to one of my favorites in Oregon City? Used to be my go to food place. The other night I wanted some fish and chips (went to Highland but they were closed) so I remembered that Mikes had fish and chips. We both ordered some. Those were without a doubt the worst fish and chips I have ever had... horrific! They were grossly over cooked beyond recognition.... We could not even finish them!! I am told that the new GM insisted that they be cooked this way... I am also told that they have tried several iterations of breading.... Dead on arrival here! So how were the fries? They changed them a couple of years ago... it did not help that they came out undercooked and limp! Beware: stay away from the fish here... go to Highland Stillhouse...beer battered and great!

Elena D.

Yelp
We stopped here on the way through, feeling like a "mom & pop" type of establishment for fast food was just what we wanted. We wanted to avoid chain fast foods but didn't need sit down service. We pulled up under their awning and saw that you could scan the QR code and order from your car, then just go in to pick it up. Great! The online ordering was too much, there were far too many alternate options when just trying to order their cheeseburger. We didn't have to wait long before getting the message that our order was ready. Once we got back in the car, I opened the foil-lined bag holding my cheeseburger (which had meat juice running out of it) to find that the rest of the juices seemed to have soaked into the bun in the 2 minutes or so it had been there. The patty was a generous, thick patty but there was way too much mayo, barely any pickles, and no onions (which I added on) and no ketchup (which was apparently was not one of the unnecessary add-on options on the app but should have been an expected topping!). I'm usually all for a good ol' fashioned greasy cheeseburger but this wasn't well done. My husband said his chicken tenders were just ok. The only decent thing I tried was their fries. Overall this was super disappointing. I wasn't going to return the burger as we needed to get going but it was not anything I finished.

Gary J.

Yelp
Seems like a decent ice cream place - but the burger was straight pink inside. Tried to wait in line for another, after a few minutes we gave up and left. However the kids loved the $.99 cones!

Samantha M.

Yelp
Classic classic spot! Something so amazing about a shake, a burger and some chili cheese fries at a classic diner ... Cant express how good Mikes is, been coming here for more than 15 years. Hope they open more of these!

Yvonne S.

Yelp
worst burger I've Ever had at Mikes. they are usually very good but I did not get the Ciabatta bun, no grilled onions or tomato. piled high with lettuce on top and bottom. burger patty was pathetic for a $10 burger. at the most it was maybe 5ml thick and on some sides it was 2-3ml. what do the heck??? !!! service was fast and was delivered to the table. nice!

Amy A.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a good old fashioned burger from a local drive in? This location has inside seating too. The mushroom Swiss is my favorite and there is plenty of cheese just the way it should be. The mikes super deluxe has thick cut bacon and a fried egg. Ordering these in a basket you get a side of fried and a small cup of potato salad or slaw. Love that they also offer tots! Since this location is a bit far for us it is considered a treat and a guilty pleasure. Looking forward to the opening of the Tigard location soon.

Brittany K.

Yelp
Always met with the rudest waitress named Alicia. I pick up uber eats here several times a week and every time she's rude af! Won't hand me the bag, makes me wait, goes to the side to pretend she's doing something else. It's obvious she hates delivery people and takes her anger out on us. Will never take my family here ever out of principle nor will I suggest this place to friends. So unacceptable and unnecessary.

Amanda G.

Yelp
Hamburger meat tastes old and over cooked. For "diner" quality, prices are astronomical. Take your business down the street to somewhere with quality food and service. In past, ok service, ok food. Tonight, the gentleman working really made the experience seem as though this is a trash spot young kids come to regularly and they don't have the energy or patience for anyone else. The burgers tasted horribly over cooked and like I said, old. Many other places along the town and main st with similar prices and much more quality food and service. Really just too bad. I especially, definitely, would not feed this food to my children. Run of the mill penny on the dollar quality making all profit for the owner. They really should be ashamed of the downhill quality.

Tr v.

Yelp
This is a nice place to get a good burger. They styled it after like old school American diners, so it looks pretty old-fashioned "greaser" inside, which is cool. I got a Mike's Signature Burger and it didn't take too long to be ready at all, you just take a seat after you order and they give you a number and they bring you your food when it's done. I should note however next to the cashier's register they have condiments and salt and pepper that you can grab, but I went to grab some ketchup and it was gooey and a clump of them were stuck together so I didn't bother grabbing any, don't know when the last time they checked that was... ultimately though, the burger didn't need any ketchup because the special sauce they had on it was absolutely delicious. The burger was practically falling apart in my hands, which I presume is why they gave me a fork and knife as well, and I laughed about that! Moreover, the fries were 100% on point. I loved them. They were crisp and well salted and clearly just made. Overall I would recommend this place to anybody. Great burger joint, great service

Angela S.

Yelp
This place used to be way better! Came in first thing a male worker acted like we were an inconvenience then immediately complained to the cook. Finally he came to the register and rushed me while ordering like it was closing time, but they weren't closing for another 2 hours. He kept asking me rudely if I want coleslaw or a cookie, while I'm trying to think and get a word in about my order. Please chill out dude!! His name on the receipt is Jeffery F. Not a friendly worker at all, if you don't like people maybe he needs another job. The burger buns were also so soggy that our burgers fell apart. Plank fries were the only good thing about our experience. Please talk with you unfriendly staff. This will make it so people will not want to come back. We were very disappointed!!!

Zordone O.

Yelp
Cool Diner, you have to get the ice cream cone, and try the shakes too. I love local businesses. Love, Peace and Many Rich Blessings to All

Gary M.

Yelp
I live in Oregon City. I use to think Mike's Drive-In had the best burgers in town. This past month, three times my order was terrible. Burgers were way over cooked to the point partially burnt. Hamburger just thrown together, Onion Rings, Tater Tots greasy and cold. Last night I observed while waiting my order food on the top shelf waiting to be packaged. Turns out that food was mine. The bag felt warm and I figured well the food was under a warming lamp. It wasn't. I got home which is about 8 minutes away was Luke warm, over cooked, greasy. Staff are wonderful people but I was working register, another cleaning tables and putting chairs on top, one filling ice cream machine up and 2 in the kitchen. I still want to believe and think Mikes is the best but if things don't change I want go back. Gary Moody

Jackie H.

Yelp
I had the Pastrami and Swiss burger with fries which was $7.50 on their Happy Hour menu. I asked for grilled onions along with the standard lettuce and tomatoes. It hit the spot after a 5 mile walk. You can order at the window outside and they have restrooms available for customers. Eating at one of their outdoor picnic tables on this sunny but cool day was perfect for this delicious meal. It was surprisingly quiet for such a nice day especially considering it was during HH. There were only 2 other tables occupied. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Abby W.

Yelp
I like Mike's Drive-In the best, as it's amazingly cool and superbly neat, as well as highly inspiring because it reminds me of the 1950s era with how things were back then. :) So, this year on Wednesday, September 21, I took my parents there, as it was my dad's birthday and I wanted to treat him to a nice birthday lunch of sorts. It worked out great! :) Plus, Abigail, the woman behind the counter, was amazing, and she was fantastic at her job too; I suggest giving her a raise. :) Also, I picked the Chicken Strip Basket with Ranch dipping sauce, which was "c'est délicieux" (as they say in French), as was the Dr. Pepper. I made sure to save the cookie I got. (My dad got the 3-piece Cod & Chips Basket with Tarter sauce, Coleslaw and small fries, while my mom got the Clam Strip Basket with Cocktail sauce and Coleslaw with small fries, as well as a large drink.) :) Finally, I highly recommend this place for anyone who likes the 1950s and diners, and I give it five stars as well (although ten stars would be even better). :)

Evan M.

Yelp
It's the classic home town drive in. Milk shakes, ice cream, burgers, and even seafood. There is something for everyone at Mikes!

Will O.

Yelp
I've tried so hard to give this place a chance because their close to home but they're just horrible. I've eaten here 5 times and every time there has been a problem. Meal #1: employees didn't know how many prices of fish came in an order, had to argue and show them the online menu to get the amount of food I paid for. Meal #2: missing fried mushrooms they said I never ordered until I showed that I was charged for them, again had to argue to get the food I paid for. Meal #3: missing side dish Meal #4: given wrong order and didn't know until I got home Meal #5: I was charged a $10 tip on a $17 order. When I told the employee she blamed me for it and said there was nothing she could do. I asked for a refund, she refused but gave me a phone number to corporate to call. Of course corporate didn't answer but their voicemail was super honest and even said they don't check their messages. If you want mediocre food at a high price with bad service and bad attitude then this is your place. If you're reading this, Dairy Queen is across the street and will treat you better with cheaper better food.

Holly D.

Yelp
Since the Milwaukie location has been under construction, we were forced to go to Oregon City. Every day. After swimming lessons for four weeks. We love that location too. Pretty easy to park, love the covered red picnic tables outside. Mike's is an institution; a local hangout, a place tourists wish they knew about and make the best milkshakes, especially hot fudge, seasonal berry and peanut butter. I'll bet Mike's might even be older than the writer of this review which makes it better. Service is consistent, fast and accurate even as they absorbed all the extra traffic from those of us who have pledged allegiance to the Milwaukie location. Good on you Mike's, for making it through COVID and persevering through construction. We're here for you. Thanks for all the memories. Keep it up.

Cameron P.

Yelp
Over priced. Gift card expires in six months after purchase. Super weak. Mikes Just stole $ 10 from my kids gift from their grandma

John M.

Yelp
I just love that old school 1950's era diner look and feel. The food is amazing and the customer service is great.

Paul D.

Yelp
Great burgers & shakes. One of the best in the area. Very tasty. Recommend the bacon cheeseburger.

Cherry P.

Yelp
Lady at the counter was rude while she took our order and kept glaring at us while we ate. If you're gonna be a bigot at least be subtle. The burger was very undercooked. The kitchen staff was loud and cursing, and also giving us looks. The fries are good. The place was clean. So one extra star for that.

Linna N.

Yelp
Delicious burger! Lady at the counter was super helpful and friendly. She recommended this delicious juicy burger. Super deluxe ;Bacon egg cheese veg and ALL the fixings hot and fresh fries in crispy clean oil soo good. Yummy house fry sauce! Burger is good size! Big. Half satisfied me well!!

Elijah C.

Yelp
They forgot my cheese that i paid extra for... i informed them and was put on the "forgot list" went back to get my burger and purchased a basket to go with it... the sides are in sauce containers, the fried are cold and rough and just not good, burger hasnt been warm enough to my liking... for a $15 meal.. the quality is horrible, mikes used to be the best... seems like they joined the fast food chain... burgers are better at DQ... sad day...

Frances L.

Yelp
Mikes never disappoint, their family specials and Customer appreciation night make every visit a special occasion. I'm a sucker and so are my kids for fried pickles, they aren't too healthy so I save them for a treat, and they are always cooked to perfection here.

Ben B.

Yelp
Two stars for the burger being grilled/decent and the people being nice. Besides that I was really bummed at my food here. The fries were pale and sad, the grilled cheese was greasy and the onion rings.... Oh dear god, they were like oily rings of regret. You could literally ring out the oil from the ring. No no no. Can't say I'll be back.

Chris C.

Yelp
New to Oregon City, we discovered Mikes while out scouting our new surroundings. Went back later to try it out. Had the halibut fish sandwich and the family tried the Special deluxe burgers. Everything was fully decked out with lettuce and tomatoes and the burgers even came with bacon and fried eggs. Great old fashion drive in food. Will definitely be coming back for more.

job c.

Yelp
I'm gonna try to create a format for the future, as I've decided to make this a bit more frequent. But starting here and now is as good as any Napkins: fair amount given, although the quality is thinner than 1 ply Drink: sobe may have been slightly watered down but that's not necessarily a bad thing if you're trying to cut back on sugar Sides: the potato salad container was absolutely laughable, I'm not sure if there was a size upgrade option I didn't see, as I ordered online. Frys were passable as far as a small McDonald's order would be, slightly under salted. The burger: I ordered a double chipotle. This was by far the best part of the meal, which is as it should be. A generous amount of jalepeneos and actually had a decent kick, which is notable, as I use 6mil scoveille hot sauce at home, albeit sparingly. If the review was of the sides and napkins, it would be a 1 star, but whereas the burger was the star, I'll pass it with a 3. I'd give it 5 stars if it was fast food, but it charges as a small town restraint, and will be graded as such. Ps: anywhere that charges for sauce disappoints me.

Kona P.

Yelp
Wow... 20 min to get a burger without cheese. It still came with cheese. Couldn't get ranch dip for my cold onion rings. The teenage female manager just wanted tp give me grief?? I went to Dairy Queen a block away.... DQ Rocks!!

Brett K.

Yelp
The menu shows a delicious-looking fish patty that fills the bun. This was a fish-nugget that doesn't fill the bun slightly tough from being over-cooked. The burgers and ice cream shakes are good, but I'd skip the fish.

Jesse J.

Yelp
Fantastic local burger chain. $.99 Ice cream cones, excellent milkshakes and splits. A good honest classic drive in burger joint. Good history and always a nice experience

Danika C.

Yelp
It's was super busy on a Saturday night when we came in but this team was awesome. We were quoted an hour wait, I know crazy right!! So worth it, I really do recommend it even though the wait is long. They are very up front on the wait times so nothing is a surprise. The team here handle themselves so well.

Irene S.

Yelp
Outstanding food, service, menu and burgers! We were there today. Our 1st time, the gals taking the order and delivering our food were very kind, the prices are fair, portions are generous and the "Double Bacon Cheeseburger" that I had was outstanding! The patties thick, well cooked and juicy! Not to mention the bacon was done perfectly crispy and they put quite a few strips in the burger! I am very picky with my burgers. I have not had such a delicious burger in a LONG TIME! We will be going back to try the fried oysters and fish on the menu! The menu has a lot to choose from! The food looks delicious!

Jessie P.

Yelp
Dang good burgers and sinful sundaes. A little divey, but that's probably part of the charm. Could use a deep cleaning.

Brian M.

Yelp
They refused service to my pregnant wife for not covering her face even though she was ordering outside and had been waiting in line for long time.

Diane S.

Yelp
We ordered and were told we were number 285. After hesring so many other numbers called over the next 30 minutes we went to check. They found our order, marked 282. The cashier was great, but the pick up people... not so much. How do you mess up an order and just hand them a bag of now cold food? Don't think we'll go back.

Lori B.

Yelp
I'll tragically no longer be going to the Oregon City Mike's. I can't complain about their food, I always love what I order. But here's the deal - we decided to go there tonight and dine in. It was fairly crowded, so we placed our order and made our way around the bend in the dining room to the back corner. We had to maneuver through some wet floor signs, but we were fine with that because we liked being in the quiet corner. We sit down to wait for our order and a minute later one of the employees BELLOWS across the restaurant that the section is closed and that's why he had the wet floor signs up - as everyone stopped eating and stared at us like we were 3 year olds we gathered our coats and changed our order to go. Had he politely come over and said something we would have gladly moved. Instead, he chose to humiliate us in front of the whole restaurant...smooth move. After we got home, my sister was still upset and gave Mike's a call. He actually answered their phone - she let him know we were really embarrassed, and how inappropriate his actions were. He claimed he's the Shift Manager...wow...that's all I can say. He also didn't apologize. Since he's the Shift Manager, I'm going to go out on a limb and say he probably has the authority to buy a "Section Closed" sign. Needless to say, we won't be going back there.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Purchased a buffalo burger on Thursday 3/10/22 that came with fries and cole slaw. Also got a strawberry sundae. Where do I start? I really wanted this to be good and was willing to pay a little more and wait a little in order to patronize a local icon like Mike's. Unfortunately the only thing that was edible were the fries. The burger patty was dry and looked like it had been previously cooked and reheated. Nothing was on the burger except meat and lettuce. The small cup of slaw was tasty but was not fresh. The sundae was inedible. No actual strawberries, just a pump or two of syrup along with lots of chocolate syrup which I didn't want. The "ice cream" was yellow, flavorless and grainy. For the $17.50 this meal cost I could have gone across the street to DQ and gotten better food.

Patrick B.

Yelp
A classic drive-in, Mike's is a must do "greesy spoon". Best place around for milk shakes ! Their burger basket meals are the bomb ! Plenty of parking, and even outdoor covered picnic tables. A great place for the family.

I did a photoshoot out here and was starving after. This was the only place that was fast & not commercialized. I am utterly impressed and 100% will be back. The burgers were great, the fries were perfect, and their ranch was amazing. Bravo. Plus for me and my man it was under $25 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
Gave it another chance. Didn't ask for anything well done just to see if they have improved the issue. Thankfully, all burgers were thoroughly cooked. We had gotten a response from a message sent and they said they were going to have an all cooks meeting to address the issue. Looks like they did and I'm really glad they've improved. However, prices have gone up and for a family of four to eat it's almost $25-30. Not sure if we can keep up with the increases but I'll always love their milkshakes and strawberry soft serve so may keep coming back for just those.
