"With its nautical aesthetic and ample space in the marina for boat docking, Mike’s on the Water in St. Clair Shores is popular with locals spending a day out near the Michigan Harbor Marina. Sip chilled cocktails in plastic cups on the lively waterfront patio or on the rooftop while filling up on its acclaimed lobster rolls." - Courtney Burk

Service was great. Others in my group liked the Peggy's Punch and the smoked whitefish app. Little bit of a wait for an outside table, but we expected that on a sunny summer weekend early dinner.

Tried Mikes because of the "on the water" atmosphere. Being here (especially sitting outside on a nice Summer day) feels a little bit like being in Key West or a similar tropical location... The workers were all busy. Bartender was friendly. Everything seemed to be going well. The only issue I had was in trying their famed lobster roll, I found it to be quite bland. 😔 I heard another guy sitting at the bar near me tell the bartender that he gets the lobster bisque all the time, but this time it was watery and not as good. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, IDK 🤷🏽‍♂️. Im certainly willing to go back and give it another try just based on the atmoshere... but I hope when I do the food will be better next time. But for now I think youre paying for the tropical vibes moreso than the taste of the food.

We had a server that wasn’t attentive at all and we waited about 20 minutes after our drink order and finally got a different server. It was a long time to wait just to put in an order. After that, everything was fine with the service. The food is just OK from what we had, but it was our first time there. The lobster rolls were stuffed very nicely without too much mayonnaise which was good. The homemade chips were delicious. I had what was supposed to be rainbow trout with what they advertised on the menu as having crispy skin. The skin wasn’t crispy at all not even close. It was just regular old skin that I had to peel the fish off of. Weak little sides of rice and green beans. Offer over $20. Don’t get that, it wasn’t worth it didn’t taste that great, very flavorless. One of us had a Manhattan from the bar and it was very watered down as well. The place looks cool and it’s on the water, it’s a fun atmosphere, but don’t go there just for the food unless you’re eating the lobster roll.

This is your typical 80s hole in the wall bar but on the water. One of the cheapest places on this side of the lake you can take your boat too. The service is amazing , the waitresses are nice , the atmosphere is comfortable. The food is great , don't expect no Gordon Ramsey fine dining . But none the less everything is prepared fresh and you get a hell of a bang for your buck .

I was looking up waterfront food options and I saw all the awesome reviews. Came in last Friday for dinner. Arrived with no hostess on the interior... So we walked around the back where two hostesses were at... We had to wait 45 minutes (which was fine) but then the night went downhill once we were seated. I don't know what was going on... But something was very off about the entire night and service experience. Tables all around were also experiencing issues. Forgotten food, missing food... Waiting on drinks... It took an hour for our appetizer of pretzels to come out... We ended up cancelling our entrees after a lack of service, refills and missing waitress... It seemed like there were serious issues going on in not only the front of house with service, but the back of house with the food and cooks... I honestly was so disappointed. Was looking for a nice fun Friday night and I couldn't even get my salmon BLT I ordered 🙄

Have given this place a few tries, first review on it because we kept hoping the next visit would be better than the previous. But unfortunately it's not somewhere we can recommend 'for the food'. Nothing has ever been anything to rave about. One in our party tried the lobster roll and was not impressed. Our meals weren't impressive either sadly. But after 4 tries of different items on the menu, it's not one we can recommend for a memorable meal. And I know we were outside eating, but we get real silverware at other outdoor dining restaurants so why does Mike's only give you plastic silverware?

Went by boat and was disappointed their signature burger (a cheeseburger with the cheese stuffed in the patty) is now only a Monday item. Otherwise, it's just a basic cheeseburger I can get anywhere. The service and atmosphere is fun in the marina but I came for the cheeseburger! The clam chowder was excellent though.

Me & my husband had amazing service! I forget her name but she was very quick with refills and making sure we were taken care of. The drinks were delicious, a little strong but I didn't mind that. 😂 We will be visiting again!
