Delicious Roman-style pizza, with a crispy sourdough base, by the slice. There were five options on the lunchtime menu, from the classic margherita and marinara to the exotic “nicoletta”, with pineapple(!), scotch bonnet, and mortadella. Slices range from £2.50 to £4, and you’ll probably need 3 each to be satisfied. The seating is all outside at the moment, sheltered from the rain but not from the wind—our main problem in this wet May was keeping everything from flying off the table. Service was excellent and friendly. It’s a tough job to find new opportunity in the crowded pizza market, but I’ve never had pizza like Mike’s before.
