Great food. Really great pickles. Services is very friendly and fast. The music could better, it is a deli and not a crossfit gym. Otherwise the atmosphere is very nice and well maintained and clean. I am pastrami guy and it was delicious. The all you can pickle bar is a happy surprise. All in all, well worth the lunch and will be a repeat customer.

Google
Well known for their oversized and special sandwiches. I ordered a half size pastrami with a potato salad side and it was excellent. Large number of bakery items. Pickle bar. Really great service.

Google
Great as always. This is one of the few places we visit regularly. The sandwiches are gigantic. The half portions are almost too much for one meal! The pickle bar is special.

I recently ordered smoked fish from Mikey and Mel's Deli to serve at a brunch event, and I must say, it was terrific. The hand-sliced nova lox was absolutely delicious - perfectly cut and melted in your mouth. Everyone at the event was raving about it. My personal favorite, the whitefish salad, was a pleasant surprise. I often find whitefish salads to be a creamy mayonnaise mess, but this one was different. It had super huge chunks of whitefish mixed in with a light creamy dressing, making it the best whitefish salad I have had in years. I have always enjoyed going to Mikey and Mel's Deli in the past, but after this experience, I will definitely be using them for all my takeout needs as well. Highly recommend trying out their smoked fish and whitefish salad - you won't be disappointed!

Our lunch trio made a tactical error today. We decided to return to Mike and Mel's deli the day after the start of Rosh Hashanah! It was very busy compared to our past visits. But it was great to see well dressed families enjoying their lunches during their holiday. We had a small wait for a table , and then a another wait for the drink server to take our drink order. Our longest wait was for our waiter. The place was almost full. When she came, we pointed out the party next to us was there first and please wait on them. They were very grateful, and we chatted while we waited on our lunches. I stuck with the pastrami Rueben and potato salad side. Overstuffed sandwiches were ordered by my friends. We all agreed the food was a 5 star treat!!!

Savannah was our server and she was excellent! She was so attentive and pleasant and we could've talked for hours! We will come again and ask for her. Also the food ---HUGE servings you could share. But extremely delicious.

Wonderful place! Great sandwich, very clean with a huge selection of deli meats, entrees, sandwiches, and desserts! Will definitely come again.

Was craving for eggs and bacon, so tried this one on a whim. Clean, inviting look. Lori is a very good waitress. As I ordered Toasted rye and egg bacon sandwich, the bread came Not toasted, so she offered to bring a new sandwich. I already started eating so didn't want to waste food. So she offered to bring toasted bread instead. I liked that. They have lots of items in the menu, maybe I will try some more in my next visit.

Yelp
Really nice ambiance! No complaints on service. But the food.... The food was AMAZING!!!

Yelp
Representing November in the 2024 photo series is Mikey & Mel's. My girlfriend & I tried Lib's Grill 9 days earlier. I saw Mikey & Mel's and was curious. We had a long Maple Lawn walk with a Meetup group at 12 PM on Sunday, November 3. Some of them were going for food here afterwards at like 2 PM. Going beforehand was better as we didn't want to eat brunch/lunch that late especially after daylight savings just ended. So, we got there at about 11 AM (which really was 12 PM on daylight time). I asked how the timing would be if we need to be out by 12, they said fine. It was not an issue. Service was relatively fast. I got the Omelet, which was excellent. However, they left off the pastrami, but they were quick to remedy. I said just give the meat on the side, and I'll throw on. They gave a generous amount, more than would be in the omelet, which I appreciated. The mushroom, avocado, & pastrami omelet was outstanding. As for the potatoes & bagel, it was a bit underwhelming. The potatoes had a weird flavor, maybe the seasoning. The bagel was very good, but it was a bit more well done than I like. Server was also friendly, knowledgeable, & answered all my questions as well as fast except with the water refills; so we ended up going up for more water to the soda machine. It's also a cute place in terms of decorations. I'd come back for a Corned Beef or Pastrami sandwich at some point as the meat from the omelet was great. Additionally, maybe about 2 months ago, my friend who lives in Arlington mentioned this cool Jewish deli called Mikey & Mel's that just opened in downtown DC. I said been there, done that in Howard County, MD. He had no idea about this (from his prospective) very northernly location.

Yelp
This place is a gem. An authentic Jewish deli with large portions. If you like this kind of food, there are very few options to get it done right. The pastrami is very tasty, liver is great. White fish has 2 variants each very good. All the staples are there, except inconsistent availability of pumpernickel. Prices are reasonable, way better than you get in many authentic delis. You'll be too full for desert but take rugelach home and maybe even gift some.

Yelp
My wife and I visited Mikey and Mel's deli in Fulton Maryland today. It was about half full of customers Always looking for a great deli that might hold a candle to the New York institutions like Carnegie's, Katz's and 2nd Ave. deli. This fell short First about the service The server did not know details about the items on the menu. Part of our order was not delivered, and I had to flag down the hostess at the front to try to get it to our table though very pleasant, the service was only fair. The food I ordered the corned beef on rye with mustard and french fries. The rye bread was very fresh, the mustard was a normal deli.mustard, and the corned beef was first cut very flavorful and very enjoyable. The french fries however, were mushy, cold, and soggy. The pickles. When we finally got the pickles, the plate contained a full sour, a half sour, and dill pickle chips. The full sour was a very well executed pickle. Just enough fermentation, ample crunch, and great flavor. The pickle chips were also crunchy flavorful and very well executed. The half sour was disappointing. It needed longer in the brine. Overall, I would give our experience a three. Four for the corned beef sandwich. Two for the french fries 3 1/2 for the pickles Two for the service

Yelp
Finally tried this deli and I must say I can see why they have these glowing reviews. I can't believe it took me this long to try this place as I don't live that far away. I didn't even realize there was this much seating inside. I was craving a sandwich during lunch yesterday. I decided to place an online order for a Mikey corned beef reuben with a side of chips. I ordered it without the thousand island dressing (just never been a fan). I got the russian dressing on the side. There's a pickle bar and a full dessert menu! They have a big breakfast menu as well. I had gotten a text letting me know that my order was ready. There was definitely a lunch rush, and it was super busy, but I didn't have to wait too long for someone to help me get my order. I really enjoyed this sandwich, and it was filling. The price is hefty though - $20 is a bit steep but when I want to treat myself again, this is where I'll come.

Yelp
I've been meaning to come here forever and I was finally able to stop by some time ago. I specifically came for the whitefish sandwich and latkes. The cashier recommended the creamy version so I ordered that with a latke with applesauce. The sandwich definitely comes overstuffed! It was pretty good but a bit on the salty side. The latke was amazing. It reminded me of the latkes I ate during childhood when we would celebrate Hannukah in elementary school. I'll definitely order the latke again but will try the chunky version of the whitefish sandwich instead. They also have lots of pastries, so I'm looking forward to trying those as well.

Yelp
My first time eating at Mikey and Mel's Deli even though I live 5 minutes away. I didn't know you can eat in, I always thought it was a carry out type establishment. Our service was great and I ordered the Mikey chunky white fish salad sandwich on challah bread with homemade potato chips. It was sizable sandwich and pretty good, although at the end, the whitefish got salty for me. I would go back to try the corned beef, matzah ball soup, and pastrami.

Mydalya C.

Yelp
Popped in to grab some breakfast! My first visit and I'm so disappointed I've been sleeping on this place! Very attentive staff, tons of selections from desserts to salads, and meats. Very clean, nice seating areas. I'll definitely be back!

Diane M.

Yelp
My husband and I had lunch at this place because of the reviews. I had a turkey sandwich and he had the turkey pastrami. I do apologize no pictures were taken. I just don't see what's the big deal about this place. The sandwiches were not that great for a deli expensive though. I did not eat all of mine and my husband said his was underwhelming. The ambiance was ok. Nothing special. The service was fast and the servers were nice. We came. We conquered. We left. Both disappointed that we had traveled the distance for a lunch that just was not memorable.

Yelp
Today I got a couple items I've never had before: a spinach knish and brisket fries. The knish was just ok. Nice and warm, like I like it, and full of spinach, which I love, but the spinach wasn't really seasoned, so the whole thing was a bit bland. The brisket fries were really good. I barely ate half before I was full. The brisket itself was cooked well--soft and not cooked to death. The onions weren't fried, like the description online reads; they were more sautéed until soft. Not a complaint, it was still delicious, but not as advertised. There was the right amount of cheese, too--not overwhelmingly cheesy so it took over the whole thing. The meat and fries stood out as the star, as they should. Service was a bit slow for a pickup, imo. I went around 1:30 and there were customers in there, but the pickup line was empty so I went right to it. A couple workers walked past me a couple times before I got someone's attn to hand me my order, which was right on the counter.

Yelp
I realllllly wanted to like this place. The best thing was the latke mini melts. Tasty, kind of like a stuffed potato skin, but latkes instead. A little heavy tho. For my main, I got the Smoked Salmon Florentine benedict. I could barely eat one, and wasn't interested in more of that flavor, so didn't take the other one home. The latke was thick (like 3/4 inch?) and kind of soft. It would have been better if thinner and crispier. The fish was not lox as I expected from "smoked salmon"... it was more like a cooked fish filet with kind of an odd flavor (hard to describe). I got the fruit salad as the side and it came in a tiny condiment cup, just a few pieces. Was disappointing. The coffee was eh... tasted like cheap coffee that someone brewed a giant pot of in the office. It came to the table with prepackaged creamers. We tried some of their pickles too which were eh. The half sour was salty and boggy. I was overall underwhelmed by the food. The staff were nice, the menu was cute. I am giving this place 3 stars bc of that and bc I felt that the mini melts were enjoyable. I would give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe some other things are good, but am not sure I'd come back.

Yelp
Unprofessional winy servers and miserable people behind the counter. It's too much for the host to come over and seat customers like a normal person. Over priced and not worth it.

Robert V.

Yelp
I have been wanting to visit Mikey & Mike for a long time and it was worth the wait. I had a Pastrami sandwich and potato knish and both were up to NYC standards. Basically sandwiches are offered in a standard or large (more like NYC Delis) sizes, and the standard size was more than filling. I recommend trying the potato knish because it is an excellent example of how good a proper knish is, however, it was served VERY HOT, so be careful with that first bite. The service was fast, the staff was friendly. The prices are what you expect for a quality product; eateries deserve to be rewarded for quality food, good service and a nice atmosphere and Mikey and Mel's is no exception. A great place to stop at when you are in Howard County craving authentic NYC Deli fare.

Monique P.

Yelp
We decided to try some sandwiches for an early lunch on a Saturday. I did not realize they served breakfast all day, which is a plus in my book. We ordered the blt and pastrami sandwiches. The service was great, the food was fresh and we did not have a long wait time. I definitely want to return to try the soup.

Demond S.

Yelp
I always enjoy going to M&Ms. The sandwiches are great and very filling. They also have a good size bakery, and there are things I like to try. During this visit, I bought chicken and shrimp salad to go. Both dishes were good quality but the price was quite a bit high high compared to local stores. I bought both, separate, because I wanted to make 2-3 sandwiches at home. I was able to do that. The quality and freshness of shrimp was great. The chicken for the chicken salad was fresh. No "canned chickens" were harmed making that salad. The freshness is definitely on point. The breakfast/brunch menu is awesome. I can't wait to try it out on a future visit.

Eric L.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of NY style corned beef. Mikey and Mel's is solid, and their breakfast is also worth visiting for. Sometimes there is a wait, weekends are especially busy. It's the best in the area by far, I don't think there is much doubt about that. Personally I would rate Weiss deli, Attmans and even Essen room in Pikesville a bit better in terms of quality and value, but not by much. Mikey and Mel's is expensive. My advice, try all of them and see what you think.

Sonia K.

Yelp
Food: Great meats and underwhelming sides. Note: I'm allergic to some grains so can't attest to the matzoh ball soup and baked goods. The macaroons seemed overpriced at $5. The turkey pastrami was amazing. I think about pretty often, borderline intrusive thoughts! On the other hand, the potato salad was so bland it hurt my feelings. It had shredded carrots which added nothing to it. Very fresh but never again. The coleslaw was just ok but was good enough. Service: Not great but not the worst. I told a server about the potato salad (when asked about my meal) and got the reply, "no one's complained about it before!" Then she walked away. Totally unhelpful. My server came by and we agreed to swap a potato salad for double Cole slaw. Ambiance: Bright and clean. Looks like many regulars come here. Other notes: the price is not affordable to me. Maybe some people think it's fair, but $24 for a sandwich (with $ added for gluten free bread) is quite high for me and I don't plan to return. Service or ambience couldn't overcome the minuses.

Robin R.

Yelp
So hear so many great things so decided to try out on a cold day . Ordered hot turkey sandwich with mash potatoes Waitress was gracious but the cold turkey sandwich with hot gravy was super bad The turkey slices straight out of the frig Gravy which was hot not sure it was even turkey mash potatoes just ok Truly disappointed for 29 bucks with tip

Rebecca B.

Yelp
Came here today for a late breakfast with a friend. Food was delicious and plentiful, nice selection to choose from. The cakes and other treats in the deli case looked amazing! Service was a little slow, our server seemed a bit distracted with other tasks, but we weren't in a hurry. Would definitely come back!

Rebecca A.

Yelp
One serve taking orders on the floor? Come on! However, the food was and looked really good. Got a scoop of tuna and was highly satisfied.

Paul S.

Yelp
We usually come here monthly for the car show and it's a very consistent experience. The food is always tasty, this time it was the ham and hot cheese omelette with a side of latke. The service was very good too.

Johnny R.

Yelp
The best thing about this place is how fresh it is. I absolutely recommend it for lunch and family dining too. Anthony was extremely knowledgeable and adds a great touch. I'd love to work with him one day

Nolan G.

Yelp
Food was great, especially loved the Rueben and the pickle bar. Definitely worth checking out!

MaryLou B.

Yelp
Shoutout to Kevin, Minnie, and staff for always giving us such great experiences every time we meet up here with our friends and family! We did see espresso drinks on a cool menu board. I did not even remember that they had espresso drinks! We definitely want to order those next time!! We got some of our favorites Shakshuka, toasted everything bagel with loxs, corned beef Reuben, onion rings, pancakes with seasonal fruit, waffles, breakfast potatoes, extra crispy bacon, fruit cup, and potato latkes!!! And don't forget the infamous pickle bar!!! We had some yummy leftovers because the portions are generous. But I know from experience that everything warms up well! We love seeing Kevin and the crew! Always a pleasure!!

Yelp
We were headed out of town back from whence we came and decided that a traditional Jewish Deli was exactly what we needed after a late show the night before at Merriweather Post Pavillion. It was a Monday at lunch time and the place was crowded, which is always a good sign. Our waiter was fantastic and the owners work their tails off making sure everything is running smoothly. We had a reuben and the turkey sandwich and both were absolutely delicious. The turkey was REE-DONK in terms of how much meat they put on that thing. Maybe a 1/2 pound? T could not finish it and only ate half. The potato cakes I got were super yummy too with applesauce and sour cream. We just loved this place. Their omelets that the couple next to us were eating looked BOMB GOOD too. They were raving about the place and how authentic everything is. We agree.

Bruce Z.

Yelp
Been to the Fulton location several times, eat in and carry out. Very good. Hands down the best in the area. Sandwiches have been great, highly recommended. Chicken soup was good but the matzo balls were a little bland, but that was carry out and reheated. Too bad they charge for the pickle bar. Looking forward to trying the DC location, both a little far for us.

Yelp
A corned beef sandwich on rye should be on real "Jewish" or "European" crusted rye, not a squishy caramel colored Wonder Bread. But the greatest deli sin of all, a schonda und ein charpa, is slicing corned beef with or parallel to the grain. Corned beef must be sliced against the grain to retain the traditional and correct texture, taste, and mouth feel. Cutting corned beef with or parallel to the grain results in a gummy, chewy texture and that's what my sandwich felt like. Maybe it's ok for supermarket corned beef but a real deli should know better. I get that corned beef is expensive but at least cut it right even if you have to slice it on a machine instead of hand carving. (See. "Save the Deli: In Search of Perfect Pastrami, Crusty Rye, and the Heart of Jewish Delicatessen", by David Sax.) It's a big menu, but any Jewish deli is graded on its corned beef. Even an Italian deli is graded on its corned beef. Fail that and fail all. I'll be back, maybe, when corned beef is carved correctly with good taste and tradition.

Arthur Y.

Yelp
My wife found this Jewish style deli that is out in the middle of no where, although not far from either Laurel or Olney. Prior to the construction maybe 4-5 years ago if this nascent town, this was farmland! My wife had a 1/2 Corned Beef on Rye. She said the meat was both LEAN and plentiful. She loved it. She also took home and very much enjoyed both a hunk of cheese KUGEL and an enormous Potato Knish. I ordered a Smoked Whitefish platter. I've been eating this Jewish delicacy since childhood. Over the 2 or 3 decades, I've been EXTREMELY disappointed with the smoked whitefish I've bought locally or at Costco. It's been way too salty and very dry. These should be fatty fish (good fat) and moist! The very large section of smoked whitefish i was served was THE BEST I've had in a very long time! The fish was accompanied by a bit of salad, olives and capers plus my choice of side dish. Yes, the food here is expensive, but - relative to other restaurants back in Olney (less than 10 miles away) actually a bit more reasonable. BUT, for the prices, you get a lot of food! The main ingredients in our meal: corned beef and smoked whitefish, ARE expensive to start! Our wait person was a budding young Architecture student named Cameron (I hope i spelled her name correctly). She was WONDERFUL. She KNEW the menu and the food. She was very knowledgeable about food allergies and sensitivities and was easily able to guide me ... I'm Gluten sensitive! As for ambience, Mikey and Mel's is VERY reminiscent of the Brooklyn delis I grew up visiting. Plus, for a couple of bucks, they offer an all-you-can-eat PICKLE BAR, with a wonderful assortment of hypertension causing delights. My wife and I WILL be back! It is worth the drive!

Yelp
I've ordered from here a few times as well as visited the store. I'm a huge fan of corned beef, Reuben's and latkes in general and go where I can find them, including here. I generally arrive around lunch time and even though it's busy at times there's always a seat available. The servers on all occasions have been really pleasant and know what's good at this place. People that work here seem like they really enjoy their jobs, unlike other places where you can see through the fake smiles. The ambience is great inside. There's a huge deli counter on the left if you're ordering to go, and the ceilings are high. Sometimes I convince myself there might actually be a secret second floor. As I mentioned before I love Reuben's so I always order different variations here. The food has always been consistent for me and they put a lot of meat in the sandwich. As someone who values time and suffers from food envy, I'm always looking for a great deal so I can walk away full and satisfied. I have never left this place wanting more food. If you're like me you'll find this place hard to beat. Even if you don't know what you want for lunch, you probably won't regret choosing this place after eating.

Yelp
Having just endured having three tables, a chair, a tablecloth, and a grand piano being thrown at her with Zatanna's magical telekinesis, Circe casts a spell that transforms the Mykonos Amphitheater's male restaurant patrons that just enjoyed her off-Broadway version of "Lulu's Back in Town" into voracious beasts ready to devour anyone at their master's command. But what if Batman and Zatanna's confrontation with Circe occurred instead in the Bakery of Wonders known officially as Mikey and Mel's Deli, tucked into Unit D of 8191 Maplelawn Blvd in Fulton, Maryland? What if, as Zatanna was levitating the tables, our heroes recognized that they might accidentally let go to waste multiple plates of decadent Chocolate Babka French Toast accompanied by mouthwateringly savory ML Grande sandwiches, consisting of fried eggs, sausages, latkes, and melted pepper Jack cheese on challah bread? I can only imagine Bruce Wayne's chagrin in between mouthfuls of Chocolate Babka French Toast as Zatanna commands "Ew Era Ton Yrgnuh!!! (we are not hungry) with increasing futility.

Yelp
Beautiful design, great ambiance and delicious food. try "the Harley" it was superb. Service is top notch

Yelp
This was my first experience in a Jewish deli, and Mikey and Mel's did not disappoint. The restaurant is located in the business area of Maple Lawn/Fulton, MD. The exterior is very beautiful, and has outdoor eating and ample parking. The interior is very nice, and of course resembles a deli with a glass deli counter. Be warned, this place gets packed at lunch time. This always makes me happy because it usually means that the food is worth the rush to the restaurant. A very unique aspect of this restaurant is the pickle bar, where you can get all kinds of pickles (from spicy to soured), and some pickled vegetables (beets). I love pickled food, so this was very exciting for me. Lol. I ordered the Lox and Bagel sandwich with lettuce and tomato on an Everything Bagel. It was fantastic, especially the amount of lox they piled high on the sandwich, and the house-made bagel. My wife got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich on a Kaiser Roll. Again, the protein was piled so high on the sandwich that she had to take some of it off so she could eat it. That is always a great problem to have when eating at a wonderful restaurant. The French fries that came with our meals were fantastic as well. Hot and crispy like they were made to be. The only slightly disappointing part of the meal was the dessert. We ordered a Raspberry Linder Tart Cookie. Unfortunately, like most desserts kept in a refrigerated counter, the refrigerating process leeched some of its flavor away, causing the tart to be semi-bland. My recommendation is to get one, but allow it to come to room temperature so that the flavor returns. Either way, we both still enjoyed it. Also, you will have fun looking over the Jewish Zodiac table mats on the dining tables (just like in some Chinese restaurants). The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant was extremely clean. I will definitely be coming back to Mikey and Mel's to try some more of their variety of Jewish food. I highly suggest you do the same.

Yelp
Ordered here a few times with decent results. Today I ordered the skirt steak with eggs, under the omelette section, with tomato's, fried onion and mushrooms. They have selections for medium rare, medium, medium well, well done. I chose medium. What I received and what is in their website as a picture are 2 different things. When I called to ask the manager about it as an fyi, it turned into a discussion about how what you see in the site is just for the picture and it's under the omelette section so what did you expect. I'm not sure how you get medium rare steak that has been chopped up into an omelette, but ok. Pictures for reference.

Yelp
Over priced for mediocre quality food. Today I was about to buy $30 worth of deli meat and cheese for lunch, but when they wanted to charge me $2.50 for some pickles - just too much. Owner tells me pickles are free if I buy a sandwich but not if I buy $30 of deli meat/cheese for lunch. ?? "Nothings free sir". "That's fine - keep your pickles and the deli meat". Inflation is a real problem but places like this use it as an excuse to gouge customers. That's fine - free country. I'll take my money elsewhere. I have been reluctant to get lunch there in the past due to the absurd pricing. Now - I'll never be back.

Yelp
Grabbed food for a Sunday Brunch. As our kids are brunch aficionados, they had more than enough options to choose from as well as kid versions of their favorite entrees

Melissa M.

Yelp
We went back Saturday for lunch and just missed the rush of the crowd. Since we have been a few times now, we have learned how big the portions are and decided to split two sandwiches so we could try more. I got the Godfather and it was stuffed full. It mentioned melted cheese but we didn't realize the whole sandwich would be hot. I loved it, my husband thought it was just okay. We also got the Woody Allen and again this was beyond full of meat. We both wish there was just a little more honey mustard. The latke was yummy and the onion rings were pretty perfect. Definitely recommend this place. They have you covered for breakfast lunch and some dessert. We've love their cookies!

Yelp
OMG!!!! I think I have officially found my favorite deli. I promise, this is not an over-exaggeration! The sandwiches at Mikey and Mel's Deli are AMAZING!! I ordered The Clevelander Sandwich for lunch randomly last week. At first, I was taken aback by the price. Over $20 for a deli sandwich.....what the whattttttt! But when I tell you, it was worth every single dollar! It was huge, I could barely finish half of it! My sandwich was so good, I called my husband and told him that I was saving my other half of sandwich and was going to place an order for him and my two sons for dinner. I got my husband the Super Reuben Man Sandwich and my son's the Hun to share. My husband said it was the best Rueben he has ever had! My son didn't say much, but the way they inhaled their halfs of the Hun spoke volumes! Needless to say, I will be back, very soon! On my next trip, I plan on giving their breakfast a try. If the a.m. helpings are anything like the lunch ones, breakfast may very well turn into lunch!

Ukegal K.

Yelp
So like 90% of the other reviewers , I was prepared to be overwhelmed. But until you actually come face to face with the (in this case sandwich) you don't get the reality of the situation. Feeling daunted is an understatement. Honestly couldn't fit the whole thing in my mouth. I ended up taking most of it home. The latke side was awesome- fresh , homemade, chunky applesauce. And the pickle bar did not disappoint. Def be back- too many offerings to try!!!

Yelp
I found Mikey and Mel's deli through the car meet they host a few times a year. It is one of the smoothest and compliant meets I've been to as everyone is respectful and friendly. I try to support their business when I attend these as they are kind enough to host these events for us car enthusiasts. I went yesterday and again, great event, well organized and all around a good time. One tiny complaint is that I ordered a breakfast sandwich which was ready to go, understandably so due to the volume of customers, however as I sat down to eat it I found it was the incorrect sandwich. No biggie, I went back and stood next to the register station hoping to get the cashier's attention. She looked at me but continued on her way. Finally after another 5-7 mins, I got the attention of one of the workers who were preparing the coffees and told him of the issue which he promptly fixed and let me keep the original sandwich as well. All was sorted, but I was a bit disappointed in what was called a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. I only got a pic of one half of it as I was walking and eating the other, but this half is pretty sorry looking lol. Hey I get it, it's busy and maybe their meat supplier provided some small sausage pucks. But, as a customer, it pains me to pay $7 for this lol. I'll still give them my business every time I go there, but maybe I'll stay away from these ready to go sandwiches. Looking forward to trying other stuff from them!

Yelp
Everything we had was tasty including the Mel sandwich and the pickle bar. The menu was expansive including sandwiches, eggs, and pancakes. Clean, bright atmosphere. I'd return next time in the area.

Yelp
We wanted something good for breakfast and stumbled on Mikey and Mel's Deli. I am writing this review as we eat, so bare with me. Upon entry, we were shocked at how far the Fulton area has come. Mike and Mel's is in a nice, quiet little community right off of the cusp of Laurel. There's street parking, as well as parking spaces, so finding a quick parking spot shouldn't be a problem. Upon entering, we were amazed at the aesthetics - the restaurant is so clean, bright, vibrant, and just super comfortable. Our waitress, Laurie is super nice. She seems to take pride in the restaurants menu, and even made mention of the fact that this was our first time there. The menu is extensive. Sooo many non traditional options that I would love to try if I ate beef - which I still love but have given up. The cool thing is that they have a lot of Turkey options as well. I ordered the Turkey hash with 3 eggs scrambled with cheese and a delicious cappuccino that I devoured in two mins. Keena ordered the challah bread French toast, and a veggie omelette. Everything was absolutely delicious and the portions were out of this world. In closing, this was a phenomenal experience & my family and I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
We had a very disappointing experience at lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was understaffed - not enough servers. There were lists of clean empty two-tops when we arrived, but we had to wait 15 min because ... not enough wait staff. Then the waitress was very nice, but never came back to check on us after our food was served. My Reuben was pretty good. I got fries and they were so undercooked as to be inedible except for maybe half a dozen of them. I had those plain, because instead of a little cup of ketchup with my sandwich and fries, I got ... a little cup of maple syrup. My wife's food was worse. Her vegetable omelet was weird, like they added liquid smoke or something. Her home fries were also not well cooked and, she said, terrible. And her bagel was disappointing in quality for a NY-style deli. It was also served plain - no butter, no jam, no cream cheese. By the time the waitress appeared, I flagged her down and asked to pay.

Yelp
Well, this was our third visit here. First for lunch, second, for breakfast, and third for brunch. It goes without saying that you should always get something with corn beef, pastrami, brisket, or sometimes all three whatever you're eating. This goes for the hash, the sandwiches, the omelettes, and apparently even the burgers. On this occasion, we had two orders of the Benedict - one with corn beef, and one with brisket. Also at the table was a traditional plate of corn beef/brisket hash, and a nova lox Benedict. Each plate is a ton of food for one person. But it's so good that you'll just kind of force yourself to eat it all. It's a good idea to leave full, so you don't go by the bakery rack on the way out and buy $70 worth of baklava, sticky buns, cookies, Babka, and so on. Or maybe you will. Everyone working there is pretty friendly and energetic. Coffee is refilled quickly. It gets kind of crowded at peak time so you may have to wait for a table.

Yelp
My wife and I had breakfast there this morning. The service was ok but menu prices for the breakfast items were very high. I ordered a latka with cheese and bacon sprinkled on top with coffee and my wife had eggs with potatoes and corned beef hash and tea. With tip, the bill was almost $44. My wife's serving was quite large and will probably provide two more breakfasts but not sure if I want to spend that much for an average breakfast. I strongly recommend you check out the menu before going.

Yelp
The breakfast bagels to go were delicious. I look forward to coming back to try the lunch menu.

Yelp
Very solid Jewish-style (NOT Kosher) deli in a suburb that reminds me of Texas (the trees are all babies, it's flat, it was hot AF yesterday, and all the construction is new. Yep, sounds like Texas). The meals are also Texas sized - my husband's Harley was humungous, even half the sandwich would have been too big for me in one sitting. My tuna melt was finishable in one sitting but I'd have preferred to split it into two were it something that I thought would keep. The pastrami on hubby's sandwich was very good, I will probably try something with it next time. My sandwich was almost perfect - the grilled rye and cheese hit the spot - the tuna salad was good but was missing a little something, possibly the minced onions, that usually gives in more oomph. I had really been craving a tuna melt (hadn't had one in years) and it was very close -- maybe this sandwich with chicken salad would have hit the spot? Not sure. The onion rings with my husband's meal were my favorite kind - super crispy but not too heavy breading. The potato salad was good and certainly homemade but it was a tiny bit unbalanced onto the sweet side IMO, which although typical for Jewish cooking, with potato salad you need a little dill to balance it. I've had two perfect potato salads in recent weeks so maybe more critical than usual here. They were very busy at 1pm on Saturday, we were fortunate to get a table - and one staffer was in the middle of telling us there were no tables when another came to get us for our table...oops. Our food actually came much faster than I expected. Prices are certainly high here, you're paying both for volume and quality. That makes it a sometimes food but I think it's worth the sometimes. I wish I hadn't already had two desserts in our fridge at home because some of the pastries in the pastry counter looked great. They also had the largest hamantaschen I've ever seen... no idea if bigger is better there but they were quite literally 4-5x the size of the ones most people make at home. The meals are so large you're unlikely to have room for dessert so plan a visit when you want to take some home. We live closer to another very good deli, but we'll certainly come here again when heading to either Columbia or Ellicott City, when we're ok with a pricier than average lunch.

Yelp
Stopped here for first time to eat today about 2 pm. Waited at "Please wait to be seated" sign. Two young female employees walk by and another one checking her phone at the takeout counter to our left. No acknowledgement that we're waiting. After a while of being ignored, we left. Headed over to nearby Sushi Tendou. Someone was waiting there to show us to our table immediately. Priority of customer service is clear when you walk in the door of any restaurant to spend your money. M&M was not well schooled there.

Yelp
I'm very picky about delis. I'm from South Florida, which is basically New York when it comes to delis, and I have somewhat ridiculous standards. Well, add Mikey and Mel's to my short list of delicious and authentic Jewish delis. My mom and I got the pickle bar to nosh on while looking over the menu. Aw yeah! My favorite were the bread and butter picked, the kosher dills, and the pickled beets. Sue me, I don't like half sours. Definitely get the pickle bar. Don't think about it. Just do it. We shared a whitefish salad, which, like lasagna at an Italian restaurant, is my barometer of true deli food. If you like whitefish, try the chunky whitefish salad on a challah roll. So much yum! I'm not gonna lie - I didn't love their potato salad. But with such delicious fish and pickles, that's ok. Even though we were stuffed, we finished with a black and white cookie. As you do. It's a deli! Can't wait to make the drive up there again. Just wish it was closer.

Yelp
By far one of the best delis in Maryland. The sandwiches are huge. They have very friendly customer service. Plenty of seating and free pickles. The ambiance is a relaxed atmosphere with a huge sandwich selection.
