Why Tipperary is a New Must-Stay in Ireland

"Next door to Cashel Palace, this informal sister spot houses the rediscovered estate well once used by Richard Guinness to brew ale for the archbishop—a quietly thrilling design detail you’d miss without being told." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

Amazing food and service. I have been to high end restaurants with worse service and food than here. Starting with bread and butter coming to the table followed by our picked starters (crab cake and soup) everything was very taste, the cakes had quite a bit of crab in it. The brisket main was delicious and tasty. Loved the taste of the potatoes. The dessert was the strawberry parfait and it was also very tasty and delicious

Not really a pub, but a gastro bar and restaurant. Loads of outdoor space, very modern and great staff.

Went there for the first time with my wife. Great ambience with relaxed professional staff that are smartly dressed in a casual manner. Starter of duck confit and salmon was very tasty. The Hake was good and beef was tender. Good portions and well prepared. Tasty too. A great interlude for St Patrick Day.

Nice restaurant, part of the five stars hotel over there. We had Pan fried hake & burger. Unfortunately the burger was fully cooked, it’s a rule here. I didn’t enjoy it much because of this. The potatoes were so crispy!!! The Hake was excellent cooked and the pees pure was great! Highly recommended plate. As dessert we choose baked custard & strawberry tart which was nice, the ice cream was totally indifferent. If you are not a hotel customer you cannot seat outside unfortunately. There is some discrimination about it. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We paid around 30€ per person.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this 5 star restaurant by accident and quickly realized it was the best thing we could have done. The decor is classy and cozy, good vibes, excellent service, and outstanding food. We started with the Pumpkin Empanadas. The first bite of this literally caused our jaws to drop. Tears forming as the flavor took us on a ride to our most sweetest moments in time. Crispy, stuffed with gold, I could eat thousands of these. Next, the Mikey's Premier Burger. The patty was so moist that the crispy bun with it created a wonderful mouthfeel. I'm not even sure what sauce was on the burger but it completes it. This burger requires no extra work from you. It's packed with flavor. Of course it is accompanied with 3 time fried thick fries. You could break these open and see the heat coming out. It was very hard to let these cool before eating. My wife ordered the Grilled a chicken with mushroom sauce. Home run. I know assume that you cannot go wrong with any choice here. Cheers to this gem in a lovely town. Shoutout to John the doorman of the partnered hotel, he was so kind and showed us the immaculate gardens.

Yelp
Stopped in by chance and had the best lunch I can remember. Our group of 4 wandered in the front door and were greater by the bar tender, a good fire and local sports pictures on the wall. We expected typically pub food and atmosphere but after a 1 or 2 minute wait were ushered into a light and bright back dining room. They offered was much more upscale than Pub food. We had the leek and garlic soup which was a good sized portion and a Waldorf salad both of which were tasty. The group also had the burger and fries which was excellent while 2 of us had the chicken schnitzel topped with greens and fennel. The schnitzel was the best meal I've had in months. The server was attentive and the food arrived in a timely manner. If you are done seeing the Rock of Cashel and are looking for an excellent lunch or dinner spot give Mikey Ryan's Bar and Kitchen a try.

Yelp
On our way to Cork, we stopped for lunch at Mikey Ryan's. We did not have a reservation and were lucky enough to get last open table without reservation for 4. The restaurant was very busy. Absolute home run. Great atmosphere, food was delicious - we loved everything we have ordered. The wait staff was very nice and friendly. We would come again, and highly recommended. Thank you

Yelp
Dry chicken and fishy scallops (obviously not fresh). You're paying $$$ for the atmosphere.

Yelp
Been to Mikey Ryan's several times now and I have to say both the food and service is exceptional. Really something to look forward to when driving down to Tipperary from Dublin. Incredible pint of Guinness and in my opinion, the best gastropub in Ireland. When you arrive you always feel welcome and the front of house/manager (Barry) is one of the nicest and most professional people you will meet in this industry. The whole place has a unique attention to detail that's rarely scene in most pubs and I wish Ireland can welcome more places like this. Whenever my family visits Ireland from the states, I always make sure to book at table here (something special to really impress them). I couldn't recommend Mikey Ryan's more.

Yelp
Quite a surprise when we walked into the bar and found this great restaurant. I had the ribeye which was great. My husband had the lamb which was great too. Muireann provides wonderful service. She was very attentive to our needs.

Yelp
Mike Ryans pub and restaurant - for food the service is extremely slow, the portions are very small (main course honestly looks more like a starter) and way over priced. Would not recommend this place for food. However, beautiful beer garden out the back, well worth a visit on a sunny day.
