1st time visit this Wagyu Shabu House. Landen is the server of our table. Super fast and friendly service. The food is high quality. Some other all you can eat restaurants will give you lower quality meat, when you order the 2nd or 3rd time. But we order 3 times, Mikiya gives all best quality food level. Will be visiting again soon. 5 rated for sure.

It is buffet style, all you can eat(meat & veggies)hot pot style, some side dishes add on as well, $49.99/ per person for lunch. We went there in Christmas day. Reservation is highly recommend. Beefs are so tender, especially the beef shoulder one. Staffs are friendly, this place good for dating and for family dinning as well

Everything was good. Meat was soft and tender, seafood tasted fresh, rice al dente. We just got the silver set and that was really good already. Came by on a Tuesday for lunch before noon. Not many people. Ice cream at the end was good too.

Update: unfortunately when I came to Chubby Skewers today, they cannot verify my membership paid at your restaurant or any points in the past for chubby club? Just like when I came to Mikiya I had to pay a new membership fee despite of all are listed in the Chubby club app. Not too thrilled by this. Can someone help clarify and update my membership/points info? The manager (Jim?) was very nice and helped cooking a few pieces at the beginning. He made the raw eggs for us and poured our first round of saki. He was professional and friendly. We got the diamond tier and liked the food (comparable) and experience (definitely better) altogether more than Chubby Cattle. (You do not have to get your own drinks or appetizers for one) Bone marrow is a must have dish. We liked the Wagyu Nigiri the best. The seafood is especially fresh - enjoyed the abalones and the shrimps. Membership is a bit confusing as the one we had from Chubby Cattle did not work here. When I joined the membership here I filled out a small piece of paper but did not receive any confirmation text or anything. Not sure if it's actually in the system. I guess I will find out next time we go.

We were able to time the wait time perfectly and were greeted warmly by the host. The friendliness of staff was top tier and consistent throughout the entire night. Since it was our first time, the menu and how to order was thoroughly explained to us. When the food arrived, we were so impressed with how fresh the food was with such gorgeous presentation. We came here on a whim because my childhood restaurant closed down. I can confidently say, this will quickly become my new favorite. Parking is also free in lot. This is definitely a MUST TRY if you love Shabu Shabu.

Tried their premium wagyu for dinner—so good. The meat was freshly sliced, and the marbling just melts. Honestly, the sukiyaki soup base was probably my favorite part, rich but not heavy. Oh, and the all-you-can-eat setup? Dangerous in the best way. Service was great—staff were super attentive, quick to refill everything. Didn't expect to enjoy the wagyu nigiri as much as I did, but it was so tender. Such a solid spot for group dinners or a chill feast night.

Mikiya Shabu in Temple City is a solid spot for hot pot lovers. The broth is flavorful, the ingredients are fresh, and the selection of meats and vegetables keeps things interesting. Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House is part of the Chubby Cattle group and it's a premium dining experience. I took my friend here for her birthday, so glad we made a reservation because it was packed on a Thursday night. Also, you can join the waitlist via yelp if you didn’t make a prior reservation. They are an AYCE Wagyu Hot Pot restaurant and they have 4 different tiers (Basic, Silver, Gold, Diamond) to choose from. We went with the Gold option which was the best of both worlds. You can get the premium meat from Diamond once per person, seafood platter (one time) and the speciality item is one item per person compared to diamond where it's unlimited for the Premium A5 Wagyu meats, Speciality items and Seafood platter. For our items: Speciality: We got the bone marrow and foie gras Soup broth: Spicy Miso and House broth Meats: Japanese A5 Chuck Eye, Japanese A5 Shoulder (These 2 meats we got once) Then we got the M9 Australian Wagyu Chuck Eye Ribeye and Japanese A5 Brisket (Many plates later) Seafood: Scallop, Crab, Abalone, oyster, and pearl grouper (seasonal) Sides: None (Fillers don’t do it). JK we got the fry mini bun with condensed milk (My guilty pleasure) Drinks: Also unlimited soda and teas, but we got coke and coke-zero Dessert: Matcha and Strawberry ice cream The Highlights: So gold tier is worth it if you are not a big eater or if you don't like too many fatty cuts of meat and if you are with only two people. I think Diamond is worth it if you go with 4 people because you can try more of the specialty items and you can get unlimited. The basic and silver tier is not worth it because the meat quality is the same as other AYCE hotpot/shabu restaurants. The sauce that was presented to us was the sesame and ponzu sauce. The best combo for the sauce was Ponzu sauce with thai chili, green onions and garlic. Service was very efficient and Lin, our waiter, was awesome. He kept checking in with us and made sure we always had what we needed and if we wanted to order more. Lin was patient when he found out it was my first time here and he explained the entire menu options. The other staff were constantly clearing the empty plates and I loved how I didn't feel like I was going to not get my money's worth due to the 90 minute time limit. Other AYCE spots, I would have to wave down the staff to even get a chance to order or tend to my needs. This place definitely is well organized and runs efficiently like the other Chubby Cattle restaurants. So you will get your money's worth in food because they always make sure you have food on the table. Definitely would recommend this spot and would definitely come back and only go for gold. I usually order the bronze level with my friends. I enjoy that they give you unlimited slices of meat and vegetables. The portions are extremely generous and the staff are expedient and very good at what they do. The ambiance is lively and very fun. I 100% recommend this spot.

We had lunch here the first time - Food: As expected, wagyu beef is fatty and tender. Therefore, it can get tired to eat after a few slices. My party has 4 people but we only had 8-10 plates ( 20-24 slices of beef) and we got tired of eating it. But that is different for people's preferences. What I don't like is the dipping sauces, they dont have variety of sauces. As it only sesame and ponzu. - Service: It depends on who serve you, the first male employee was very very attentive and friendly to us, always smiling but his shift ended already so there was a girl employee, she did an okay job - Ambiance: I love the ambiance, it's cozy and clean. The chairs are comfortable. Anyways, it was a nice experiences but I won't come back because it's too fatty for me

Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House has been on my list to try for quite awhile. But every-time I look at the menu, I just can't justify the prices for my kids. They don't eat that much and its so pricey just to have to feed a family of 4. My husband and I finally got to step away without them and were determined to finally try out Mikiya. So glad they had a join waitlist option which totally cut down our wait time. They are a AYCE restaurant and they have 3 different tiers to choose from. We went with the Gold option which was super perfect for the two of us. For our items: We got the bone marrow and wagyu nigiri. Soup broth: Spicy Miso and Japanese Tomato Meats: Japanese A5 Chuckeye, Japanese A5 Shoulder, Japanese A5 Brisket. Seafood: Scallop, Crab, Abalone, oyster, and fish Sides: Shrimp Tempura, Seasonal Vegetable Platter Drinks: Also unlimited soda, we got coke and ginger ale. Dessert: Vanilla and Strawberry ice cream Service was very efficient. The staff are constantly checking in on you and checking if you want more food. They are constantly clearing the empty plates and I loved how I didn't feel like I was going to not get my moneys worth due to the time limit. Usually those AYCE spots I am waiting for the staff to come and take my order, here they are always checking so thank you for being organized and so efficient! Mikiya is an incredible, high-quality hot pot experience. I've been here twice already, and I plan to come back many more times. I first want to give a particularly special shout-out to the servers! The service here is the best I've ever experienced at any AYCE restaurant. Our server constantly stops by the table to take our next order, and then the food comes within minutes. Throughout the entire 90 minutes, we never had to wait any extended periods of time. I have gotten the platinum option both times because of special occasions, but the silver and gold options are still very much worth their price. The main difference is, with the platinum option, you can get unlimited specialty dishes. My absolute favorite is the wagyu nigiri, followed by the tartare. The quality of the wagyu meat is outstanding. All the cuts are tender, rich, and melt in your mouth with every bite. For broth, I typically do one side sukiyaki and the other side house broth, then designate one side for the meat and the other side for the vegetables. There is also a wide selection of fresh vegetables (like mushrooms, cabbage, etc.), seafood (scallops!), and dipping sauces that you can customize to your taste. On top of the amazing food, the ambiance is cozy yet modern, making it perfect for a fun dinner with friends or a special occasion. The $28 membership option is also absolutely worth it if you plan to go here more than 2-3 times in a year. I can't wait to come back!

I went back to Mikiya after my jury duty. The place was even better. My server was Lawrence. He offers the best service I have experienced. He came back to check on me and offered speedy service. Now, with the food. The Wagyu beef was the best. Although it is not the Japanese A5, the quality is still good. The side dish--spicy clams--was the highlight of the dish. The other appetizers and side dishes are good as well. Now, the chain offers plus membership, which is valid for all restaurants, which is an excellent deal.

10/10 recommend this AYCE wagyu and seafood hot pot. I would recommend making reservations ahead if time as it gets really busy during dinner hours. Our server was amazing and walked us through on how it works. All the workers were attentive in clearing out empty plates and asking our needs. The restaurant is so clean with a little Japanese authentic style to it. We will definitely be back!

mikiya was amazing! the service is impeccable and for an ayce, the quality of everything was superb. I'd suggest joining the waitlist online to avoid the queue because it does add up quickly, esp during dinner rush. our party ordered off of the silver menu ($55). usually, lower tiers of ayce are just okay for their price points however the meats offered were amazing! the marbling was good and the quality never wavered, whether it was our first plate of meat or last. the broths were also yummy, we tried their original and spicy miso. fyi, veggies come out in a platter and you can request certain veggies instead of getting the full variety each time! additionally, you get a premium side with your ayce order. unfortunately, they didn't have beef tartare so we opted for their wagyu nigiri. that was ok, I'd suggest trying something else. their sweet shrimp sashimi was great! it was fresh and succulent. the wagyu bone marrow itself was good, the toast was a bit harder than expected but it doesn't take away from the overall experience. all in all, would come back on special occasions and if in the area!

Mikiya is part of Chubby Group. You have a Shabu Shabu Hot Pot and then you can choose from a variety of cooked and raw menu items. For broth, we opted for the Sukiyaki and Spicy Miso. All you can drink beverages. Seafood Platter and AYCE meats. Overall, a solid place to dine; however there was an incident where the sauce on the next table over splattered all over the customer's sweater and my bag. Then again, we did knock over the Diet Coke. The ice cream tastes good at the end of the meal. ** Chubby Cattle Membership does not work at Mikiya and vice vera **

I'm obsessed! Definitely make a reservation on busy nights - join the Yelp waitlist. Everything was delicious and the service was SO GOOD. Best service I've ever received in any restaurant. They are so fast. One of them was still taking my order while some of the food I just ordered arrived. They are constantly circling the restaurant to bus plates. I got the lowest tier AYCE option and it was perfect. This includes all the meats, drinks, and cooked food. I don't think I need any of the fancier options.

I came here with my buddy Ryan L. for dinner on a Friday night. He had already made reservations for us, so there was essentially no wait. The get really busy with long wait times if you don't make a reservation. This location of Mikiya in Temple City has a stressful parking lot. I parked in the underground parking garage, which felt a bit cramped. This plaza is always busy, so I'm grateful I found parking. On a brighter note, their interior is larger than the Cerritos location. We got the Silver Wagyu Set, which is $55/person without membership or $48/person with membership. I have their membership which counts for any Mikiya or their sister restaurant Yumiyaki. The membership pays for itself after 2 visits, or especially if you come in and get your birthday discount. Highly recommended if you enjoy wagyu or shabu. For the silver menu, each person can pick one of the specialty dishes: wagyu bone marrow, wagyu tartare, wagyu nigiri, sweet shrimp sashimi, or foie gras. We both opted for the bone marrow, which was served with toasted bread. It was really rich and decadent. The silver menu also comes with the seafood platter which we weren't interested in. My friend has some seafood allergies, and I didn't think I can finish it all by myself and I didn't want to waste food. Plus having been to the Cerritos location prior, I know the seafood items comes with shells and is a lot of work to peel. Too much work for me. Of the Australian Wagyus, we were able to pick from the chuck ribeye, brisket, and shoulder. We mainly went for the ribeye and briskets. It was funny that some plates came with 2 slices while others came with 6 even when we ordered the same cuts over and over. Towards the end I felt cautious to only order one or two so I don't waste any food. There was also a vegetable basket. The one thing I like more about their sister location Yumiyaki is that I can do select the vegetables myself. This avoids wasting items I don't enjoy eating. They also have a menu of kitchen items you can order from. My buddy got some minced wagyu over rice at the end to fill up. We also had some strawberry and green tea ice cream. The service was really friendly and quick. Staff was really on top of getting us the items we ordered quickly and accurately. They'll give you whatever you want until the 90 minutes are up.

MY FAVORITE GO-TO SPOT FOR SHABU SHABU! Be prepared to wait as there are long lines Friday Night til Sunday. Join the Yelp waitlist as long as you are 3 miles away to save time on waiting! My usual order: Silver Menu, Limited Appetizer: Sweet Shrimp, Seafood: only the Abalone & Scallops, Drink: Sweet Peach Iced Tea, and Broth: Sukiyaki & House Tip: Dip the meat in the raw egg that is provided to tenderize the meat & make it even more softer.

Hands down one of the best meals I've had. I'm a frequent shabu eater and Mikiya is officially my favorite. Everything was delicious! First of all, the bone marrow...yum. Sweet shrimp, oh mah guuurd. The seafood platter was a perfect assortment and personally enjoyed the scallops and crab. All the wagyu your heart desires. The quality is 100% premium! The sauces were flavorful. Service was excellent and efficient. Will definitely be seeing you real soon, Mikiya!!

Love it!!! We ordered the silver one. The meat was large and thick. I used to hate sukiyaki due to my bad first experience, but this one really turned me around. It tastes like bogolgi but a bit less heavy. Now I want to try the golden or premium meal. Also the waiter was quick and considerate. Get us the must-orders without asking and kept checking on us whenever we had empty plates.

The food selection and quality were yummy and great! The sauces added depth of flavor. Service was quick and efficient. Our server was honest and made helpful suggestions. The attention to detail in presentation did not go unnoticed. The membership is worth it for repeat visits. We will definitely be back.

Chubby Cattle was my first Chubby Group restaurant experience but after trying Mikiya, it is now my preferred over Chubby Cattle. Both are delicious but Mikiya is even more delicious. Our group got the gold tier and it was a good introduction to the different cuts of wagyu available. My favorite cut was Japanese A5 chuck ribeye (limited to 1 order per person for gold tier) as it was buttery soft and soaked up the sukiyaki broth perfectly. From the unlimited option, the Japanese A5 wagyu brisket was my favorite. For the specialty dish, I went with the sweet shrimp sashimi and it was delightful. From the vegetable platter, the tong ho and mushrooms in the sukiyaki broth complimented the wagyu very well. From the seafood platter, I enjoyed the abalone, shrimp, and crab and would reorder these in the future. The ice cream trio of strawberry, vanilla, and green tea was a refreshing way to wrap up the delicious feast. Highly recommend to make reservations to minimize wait time. Even the restaurant was busy, service was decent as we were able to put in our orders with some wait time in between. Parking can be a bit difficult in that plaza as it's always busy but not impossible.

I've had the pleasure of dining at two Chubby Club restaurants: Wagyu House by the X Pot and Chubby Cattle Monterey Park, both of which exceeded my expectations. Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House, another Chubby Club establishment, also boasts an excellent reputation, but it has a separate membership program though. It's a minor inconvenience. Similar to Chubby Cattle MP, Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House is an intimate setting, making it less suitable for large groups. However, the restaurant's reservation system is a huge improvement, especially it's always busy. I would like to give a HUGE PROP to Bryant, our exceptional waiter. His attentive, friendly, and welcoming demeanor made our dining experience truly amazing. His outstanding service is a valuable asset to the restaurant, and I hope his contributions are recognized. As an all-you-can-eat wagyu shabu house, Mikiya delivers top-notch service & food quality, on par with other Chubby restaurants. If you're a wagyu beef fan, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. We opted for the diamond tier, which granted us unlimited access to their entire menu. Each plate featured 3-4 slices of premium Japanese A5 wagyu beef. Bryant recommended starting with the diamond tier beef and seafood platter; we also ordered sweet shrimp, wagyu tartare, wagyu bone marrow, and foie gras. The sweet shrimp was exceptional and the wagyu bone marrow was fantastic. However, the wagyu tartare and foie gras didn't quite meet my expectations. The seafood platter was visually stunning (IG worthy?) and featured an impressive array of scallops, oysters, shrimps, fish, abalone, and snow crabs. The scallops, oysters, and abalone were fresh and delicious, we even ordered an additional set. However, the snow crab was somewhat fishy, and the lack of tools to crack it open, so it's not too convenient. The A5 wagyu beef was fantastic, and I highly recommend upgrading to the diamond tier. The value is exceptional, especially when compared to X Pot. Bryant suggested trying the silver tier Australian wagyu beef to compare the difference, and the disparity was quite distinct. While the Australian wagyu beef was still impressive, the Japanese A5 wagyu beef was top-rated for a reason. At the end, I did not purchase a membership, primarily due to the underwhelming soup bases. We chose the spicy miso and Japanese tomato, but they failed to add any notable flavors to our meal. Condiments were good but not amazing. Considering these factors, I would rate Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House 4.5 stars. While the restaurant has exceptional service and food quality, the intimate setting and limited table space made the dining experience feel more hectic. Nonetheless, this is a solid recommendation for wagyu beef fans!

Makiya never disappoints! Fresh meat, great service and clean restaurant every time! We have a membership. It's well worth it if you go more than once since you'll get a discount on regular days, and a free meal on your birthday. You can go there the day before, on the same day or the day after your birthday. I highly recommend the silver selection since you get the premium meats still. It's not cheap that's why I've only gone 2x so far and plan on going 1x or 2x before the membership is up. May join again if I can't find a better all you can eat SHABU restaurant.

Mikiya is one of my favorite restaurants - I love the bone marrow special dish, and I could eat (and do eat) plates and plates of the ribeye! Pro tip: order the fried milk buns for dessert. I like that you can customize the seafood platter because I mostly just like the shrimp. The service is great and I like the toppings for the sesame sauce (green onion, Thai chili, and minced garlic). I've been here twice in a week already, hoping to make it a third. Free parking in the lot or in the garage downstairs.

10/10!! The chubby group standard definitely shows at this location. Highly recommend a reservation as the wait times can be long. The restaurant is quite big and you have a time limit. I have gone 2 separate times and service was top notch. Wait staff constantly checks on you and brings out orders lightning fast! It was can be a bit intimidating at first with the menu but after you get the flow it's very seamless. As far as the menu we went with the diamond level which is $98 pp. Despite the price tag it's worth the price and highly recommend getting that level. The Japanese A5 Wagyu cuts and seafood platter are all delicious and all make it worth the diamond menu! You also get options of Bone marrow, Wagyu nigiri (favorite side!!), sweet shrimp nigiri, Wagyu tartar and foie gras! As far as shabu shabu this is the fanciest I've ever been to. It's definitely an exquisite dining experience. Great waiter service, great food is the perfect combo of a high -level dining experience. Thank you, Mikiya!

Excellent services always. Great ambiance for all occasions. Easy to make reservation or join waitlist on Yelp. The food even for silver, the lowest tier is excellent.

Not bad? no complaints but this wouldn't be my go-to for places that are just like this. The menu feels considerably smaller than many of these type of places throughout LA. Decided to go with the middle tier(gold). There are a total of five types of meat, two of them that you can only order one order per person. Each person also gets to order one specialty appetizer like dish. They have four soup broths, each person gets to choose one between two. We went with Sukiyaki and house - shrimp tempura 3/5 - popcorn chicken 4/5 - foie gras 4/5 (1 type per person) - beef tartare 5/5 (1 type per person) - a5 wagyu ribeye 5/5(1 per person) - a5 wagyu shoulder 5/5(1 per person) - a5 wagyu brisket 5/5 - Australian wagyu ribeye 3/5 - Australian wagyu shoulder 3/5 - ice cream 5/5 (vanilla, matcha, strawberry) Even though we got the middle tier, it still felt a bit lacking on me options for the cost. Especially when the Australian wagyu was significantly thicker and tougher. We really ended up only getting one option after the specialty items which makes you tired of it quickly Be aware when looking at pricing. There is a large print number that is meant for annual members. Annual membership cost is $28 and will drop your cost down by $10. Without this you will spend $10 more than the larger print cost. Actual cost in smaller print to the right. Parking can be a pain in this Plaza as they have many many businesses. I recommend coming a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes earlier just to make sure you get parking if you have a reservation

First time visiting and we decided to do the diamond tier because we wanted to order the specialty dishes more than once and not be limited. My favorite was the sweet shrimp sashimi and the beef tartare. My 2nd order i requested to get it without the chips because they tasted store bought and much better without the chips. seafood platter was delicious everything was so yummmyyy. The grouper was also amazing abut I didn't get a picture of it but that fish is very delicious that we ordered multiple rounds The meat was great quality. Since it was wagyu it was incredibly rich we had to eat other things to cut the fattyness. We tried everything and my favorite was the brisket. The sauces offered here was also great!!! We got the egg, sesame sauce, and garlic. All the workers here were very kind. They always explained what they were placing at our table. Constant soup and drink refills. They have an underground parking lot.

The food here is great, a delicious elevated Hotpot option for when you want to treat yourself to quality food! We opted for their silver set which is $55 without the membership. It comes with their specialty appetizer dish (1/person), a seafood platter, and a mix of australian wagyu and premium wagyu. The quality of the meats is so good and so tender. This tier is definitely worth it and plenty good especially since Wagyu can get a little too fatty for me! I came with my partner and the only con is that the table is quiet small for a party of 2. We felt like we kept knocking things over.

I've been to Mikiya at least five times this year, and every time I've had an amazing experience. Its pretty straight forward, all you can eat (AYCE) hot-pot with multiple tiers. Silver ($55), Gold ($78), and Diamond ($98). The higher the tier, the better the cuts of meat. Diamond is going to be your most bang for your buck if you can eat. I've gotten the gold once, but I recommend dishing out the extra cash for the diamond, and getting unlimited top quality meats including their delicious premium sides. With Diamond, you can get unlimited bone marrow, sweet shrimp, and wagyu nigiri's. We find ourselves starting off with the 3 A5 Wagyu cuts, but in the end ordering more of the A5 Wagyu Chuck Ribeye. The marbling doesn't do the meat justice, it simply melts in your mouth. My favorite broth is the sukiyaki and spicy miso. Dip your meat in the sukiyaki, followed by an egg, it's really delicious. Besides the amazing food quality, the service is top notch. Huge shout out to Timothy, Collin, and Luke for their amazing service. They make your night memorable, and have the best recommendations. They have an annual membership option for $28/yr which includes a discount (~$10) for you and another at Mikiya and Yumiyaki. The first time I came here, I didn't purchase it which was a regret. I didn't think I'd come back as many times as I did. In reality, you only need to come twice with a partner to make back the money of the membership. Believe me, just get the membership. Would I come back? Absolutely.. I find myself recommending this place to many family and friends, especially when they are not from this area. It is one of those places you must try before you die.. Parking is readily available, though because this place shares a lot and an underground structure with a number of other restaurants (and a gym), it can get busy during peak hours.

An elevated hotpot experience for sure. They have boba on tap, and the decorations and vibes felt bright and chill (kind of in contrast with other places that have dimmer lighting). I appreciate they have a vegetable bar to get as much as you want. Plus lots of cool extra sides/desserts that make it a fun hotpot experiences The meat is really good, but it does get a little heavy/repetitive after a while. It is a pretty steep price, which makes sense given it is Wagyu but it is a price commitment for a meal. Busy place, be prepared to wait when at peak times. Also popular plaza in general so parking is a bit difficult.

tried MIKIYA a few times, all from invites or events by others ~ i personally prefer YUMIYAKI more da meat quality here is good & theres actually more selection as far as seafood & other meats here vs YUMIYAKI but service is not as good here + they just raised their already costly menu pricing i took a star off cuz my cousin got sick shortly after dining here w us ~ im usually da 1 with weak stomach but luckily i didnt feel anything, tho i hadnt eaten much that particular visit its funny these places sell u memberships so that u can hopefully save $10/person on da select tiers but then still raise da price in such short time :/

OMG. I can't believe it took me this long to try Mikiya. It is hands down, one of the best high end casual restaurants in town! I just went to Chubby Cattle the day before which was a major disappointment, but Mikiya exceeded expectations! Let me tell you why.. The broth! I love that we can have a split pot. The sukiyaki broth is PERFECT for seafood, but too sweet/flavorful to drink, so we loved the house broth for that option. The meats! We got the most expensive tier, so the meat quality was perfect. We loved the variety of seafood and meat. I wish there were an easier way to get the crab out, but that's just nitpicking. The scallops, abalone, etc. were so big and fresh! Highlight was def the sweet shrimp! It was so creamy and the size was generous! The wagyu was good ofc so I don't have much to add besides that haha the bone marrow was freaken delicious as well. Much better than I remember it at Bestia. I would order again! The wagyu nigiri was just ok, nothing too special. The misses for us were the wagyu tartare, shrimp tempura, and the foie gras. I didn't try the tartare but my friends said it was lacking. The tempura was by far the biggest disappointment, it should just be removed from the menu or the recipe should change. It wasn't like tempura at all, maybe it's just on there as a filler. The sauce! We love the sauce! The ponzu with some garlic, green onions, and Thai chili, ugh it's perfection! Lastly, it's nice that they have ice cream to end the meal. It's a bit too generic for my liking, but one spoonful was a great way to end the meal. I'll def be back!

Came here on a Thursday evening without reservations, but got seated right away. I came with a friend, and we both ordered the silver wagyu set. I got their bone marrow as my choice of item, it was 5/5! There was a lot of bone marrow fat and it came with two small toasts, which complimented the fats nicely. There was also a bit of spicy powder on the plate, and I thought it was a nice taste to the overall dish. We got the tomato and house broth, with several platters of meat and veggies. The meat quality was excellent and the veggies were good. I loved their dipping sauces, with garlic and scallions. It is a bit more pricey compared to other hot pot spots but I definitely recommend checking this place out. I felt like the quality of meat was great and I was really full by the end of the meal, so I thought it was worth it. I also got ice cream as a dessert after the meal, and the menu set also comes with soft drinks but I didn't order that. You definitely get a lot of food and the service overall is quick. Staff were friendly and overall restaurant had a nice vibe! I can't wait to come again.

dang ! I'm impressed. Didn't know this was Niku's sister restaurant. My sister and I were looking for a place to meet up somewhere close to Alhambra. Instead of going to Izakaya, we decided to come here because she wanted to get Unlimited Sweet Shrimp and Red banded Lobster( they call it Norway lobster here) for $99. This place showed up on her search. Quality is top notch and the servers are friendly. Now I can say that Chubby Cattle group restaurants are all about the quality Ingredients. All Wagyu parts were tender, fats were evenly distributed, both broths were savory, presentation was perfect.

This is my first time here and the food quality was spot on. It's like a less expensive version of another fancy hotpot place but better than your run of the mill cheaper ayce hotpot places. The wagyu pieces come in big but thin slabs. The sauces and soups were very tasty. I'm OK with the silver package but the gold package with the a5 meat pieces was appealing. The service was really good. So attentive and was so friendly. The feel inside is one of modern/old school Japan with loud music. I guess its a fusion in all sense of the word. Wish the music was a tad quieter so I could have a easier conversation with the folks I was there with. But the food outshines how loud it was. Worth it. Try it.

Excellent food and service.' Mikiya has quickly become one of my favorite shabu houses. If you are looking for a hot pot spot to treat yourself then this is it. My friends introduced me here. We came on a Sunday around noon and there was a 10 minute wait for our party of 4. Mikiya has 4 different menus. We went for their Gold menu ($68-$78pp) which includes different types of Japanese A5 wagyu and seafood items. They have a shared pot for a table up to 4 people. You can do split pot too if you like. For broths we got sukiyaki which was very flavorful and you don't even need any dipping sauce with it. For starters I liked that we can choose between foie gras, wagyu nigiri, bone marrow, beef tartare, or sashimi sweet shrimp as a starter. Besides their delicious meat, seafood and fresh veggie items they also had lots of appetizers to choose from. This includes their yummy octopus Takowasa, fried tempura, and sweet potato fries. We found all the meats to be pretty good. They have pasteurized eggs for you to dip your meat in as well. To start I got their foie gras which I thought was good but not the best foie gras I've had. I want to try their bone marrow next time. We ended our lunch with their sticky fried mini buns which was served with condense milk and some ice cream. Their coffee ice cream was very good. But they have 4 different options of ice creams to choose from: vanilla, matcha, coffee, and strawberry. The service was excellent and top notch. Our waiter Daniel was super cool and helpful. He was also a delight to talk to. All the food came out quickly and they made sure to keep checking on us and taking away any used plates we were done with. We were all pleased and ended up purchasing the membership. We will definitely be back.

Mikiya is an execellent lavish place to indulge in wagyu and seafood. A typical hotpot experience may feel repetitive but their diamond level allows you to taste the entire spectrum of luxury flavors and textures. The wagyu nigiri and sweet shrimp are my favorites. But the bone marrow, wagyu beef tartar, and foie gras adds that extra flare. If you want to treat someone out to an adventure, mikiya would be at the top of my list.

It was my first time here and I thought it would be like the one in the Bay Area, but it wasn't. There was no self serving bar and the layout felt crowded. The bathroom was probably the worst when it came to space. There was no space between the door and toilet. Food(3/5): It was ok overall. The meat was tender but the ice cream tasted funky. Service(4/5): The server was attentive and friendly Overall, I don't think I will come here again

Mikiya is the place to go if you want a good splurge on shabu. The wagyu menu offers 3 tiered sets at silver $55, gold $78, diamond $98 per person. Prices are several dollars cheaper if you're a member. I find the basic silver set to be sufficient if you're not a big eater. If you're feeling fancy and are up for an ayce challenge, opt for the diamond set which also comes with a seafood platter. All sets come with unlimited veggie platter, beverage + tea, and ice cream so brace yourself! Servers here are friendly and attentive. My only gripe is the restaurant is a bit tight, so it isn't ideal for a large party. Put yourself on the wait-list as the wait can be lengthy.

I never understood the appeal of Mikiya but now having eaten there, I am officially jumping on the bandwagon. This place is great for big groups because of the liveliness and being able to go HAM on all the dishes. I don't have anything more to add from what all the great reviews have said, but I will share some tips I think would be useful for first timers: - If you're going during the weekend, do plan ahead and get yourself on the waitlist. - Once you're asked to check-in, you have 15 minutes to ensure your entire party is there or they will move onto the next available party. - Ask to split pots so you can try two different soup flavors - Table space is limited. Ask for 1/2 of the seafood platter at a time. - If you don't like some of the seafood, you can request for extra of something else e.g. no shrimp, extra scallop Mikiya's service staff were incredibly hospitable and attentive. We left it up to our waiter to bring out his preferred cuts of meat and not once were we disappointed. Our drinks were constantly refilled and empty dishes were promptly taken away. Check it out if you haven't already!

This place was fantastic!! We loved the service and also happy that we were able to RSVP a table here through YELP. The food was delish!! We picked the Diamond Tier...and it's all you can eat!!! You do get 90 minutes, we were so stuffed by then!! This place is nice and cozy. Oh! the drinks (no. Alcohol)are included in our Diamond tier. After dinner we get a choice of a small scoop of ice cream(Matcha, Strawberry or Vanilla). Parking is free, and there is underground parking too. Oh!! Because of the Egg shortage, they weren't serving the Wagyu Tartare(sniff sniff) I was looking forward to eating that. And yes, they bring out the food you requested very quickly too!! Love this place!! My hubby and I were here to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Only difference is, this place doesn't have the sauce bars like other places...but it's okay with me. I'm just so happy they have my favorite Sesame Sauce.

The interior was typically dark with warm lights. Not something I really care too much about but it is clean. I would say the layout is quite crowded. I feel like I constantly have to look behind myself whenever I need to adjust my seat or stand up. The service was quite fine. We had a wait and was seated on time with our given estimated wait time. The food was really good and honestly my favorite place to get all you can eat BBQ if I did not have to worry about the price. I would go here everyday if it was cheaper but totally understand the pricing due to the quality of the meats. There are 3 levels of meat options and I would say it is a must to at least try the higher level once. After getting my share of it I just go back to the basic level nowadays.

High quality beef and great service The wagyu beef is so delicious and melt in ur mouth . Every refill plate is high quality . The seafood is fresh. Their side dishes are delicious too. We like their mini fried bun. It's on the pricy side but the quality makes it worth it.

Looking for an all you can eat restaurant, going to Mikiya intrigued me with their Wagyu meats. While you don't get A5 Wagyu, you are still offered premium quality meats. We decided to go with the gold tier, and got the food gras and Norwegian lobster as our starters. We got to sample all dishes within the tier, and the ribeye and shoulder cuts are the ones which went well with the sukiyaki sauce to cook it in. The restaurant may appear to have a constricted feel, but it is spacious enough for you and your party to totally enjoy the hotpot! There are a few desserts, but these (ice cream and bread) do feel non-premium compared to the actual meal. However, I would say the desserts are more of a small treat as an addon rather than something that conmposes part of the experience here. I will want to try the other tiers here and see which offers the best value in the future!

Expensive but sooo yummy. The options are plentiful and the service is very good!! Parking can be tough to find outside you usually have a better chance of finding parking in the underground garage. If it's your first time, your server will explain how each level works and which meats you get. I like how they give you one order of a seafood platter- perfect portion for seafood lovers. The sauces and sides are good as well. Unlimited drink and meat definitely make the price worth. Although I'd probably only come back for a special occasion. The meat wasn't too fatty/ oily where I felt too stuffed either. My favorite was probably the Full Blood M9+ Australian meat option from the Gold Menu!

I tried Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House a year ago -- I HAD to come back !!! I love quality shabu & this place delivers exactly that ! My favorite thing here is the bone marrow & the variety of meats that they offer. The service is super fast + workers are super attentive. My boyfriend and I had a reservation on a Saturday around 12PM and we were out within an hour. For some reason, I was expecting the wait time to be longer but it was fairly fast heheh :-) Parking can be difficult to find in this plaza, but thankfully we found parking fast !! I feel like anytime past noon is difficult to find parking.

Make reservations beforehand to avoid the long wait! We made reservations about 1.5 weeks prior to find a times slot we wanted. Entire party must be present to be seated. For our first time, we selected the Silver Wagyu Set ($55 per person for non members) which includes a selection of made to order hot foods, 10 different menu options plus ice cream and unlimited beverages. Though the list may seem on the smaller end with only 10 items, the seafood platter included 6 different options itself (scallop, shrimp, crab, abalone, fish, mussel). Ponzu and goma sauces available along with sliced green onion and minced garlic to add for extra flavor - yum! Even with the silver package, you will get great quality food that will leave you satisfied. Though it was quite busy during lunch hours, the service we received was still immaculate. We were checked up on several times, especially as we were running low on meat platters to order additional. Located in the same plaza as Bistro Na's - close to Meet Fresh. Parking in the uncovered lot is always packed but there is also underground garage parking that usually has spaces available.

I may be the exception here but I really feel like this place was so mid. First of all, the restaurant is small and as a larger guy, felt like sitting shoulder to shoulder to my friends. Second, I saw nothing special on the menu and the price vs quality was off. $500 for 6 people is so not worth it. I just felt that nothing stood out, everything was pretty standard and service was not the greatest. Very minimal interaction and did not make you feel welcomed at all. Tried it once, probably won't return unless my S/O wishes too. Too many competitor in the valley with better prices and better food or food that's worthy of the price.

My new favorite hot pot place - great service, clean, and good quality. We got the Silver wagyu set which came with one specialty dish, limited seafood, unlimited vegetables and a few wagyu cuts, chicken, and pork. They also have unlimited drinks and ice cream at the end. I liked the shoulder cut the most, which was more lean. The seafood included mussels, clams, fish, scallops, and shrimp and you can tell them if there are items you don't want. The servers were attentive and brought things out quickly. They even brought us plates to enjoy our birthday cake. I would consider the membership if I lived closer, can't wait to go back!

Was it pricey? Yes. Was it good? Hell yes. Did it melt in my mouth? YESSSSS. So...was it worth it?! YES! YES! YES! - - S E R V I C E - - Top notch! Our server and all of the other servers were so helpful and quick. They gave great advice on what to order since it was our first time. Food also came out so fast despite it being completely packed. They really made our time and experience here amazing - - F O O D - - We did stick to the meats only and didn't get to try the seafood, but if the seafood is anything like the meat and apps...chefs kiss! All of our meat selection had such beautiful marbling and simply melted in our mouth. The quality was truly so great. We also tried all of their specialty plates, which were all amazing. We ordered multiple rounds of everything. The sweet shrimp, bone marrow, wagyu nigiri, and wagyu tartare were our favorites. The foie gras was also great, but was the only one we were only had one order of because of just personal preference. - - W A I T - - Through Yelp, you can either make a reservation or sign up on their live waitlist ahead of time. We ended up making a reservation since they had a decent of openings. We could've joined the waitlist from afar as well which is super convenient if you dont have a reservation I'll definitely be back!

A5 Wagyu shabu?? Yes! It was my first time here and since it was the holidays, decided to splurge a bit to have this! We got the Gold set which was worth it! Inside it cute and had lots of seating. And since it was unlimited meats, we had so much and tried everything once and then went back to get more of what we liked! Our waiter was the best! She was always making sure we were good and checking to see if we needed anything. I'd definitely want to come back next time! But for now definitely still full even though we went for lunch which means I'll be good until the next day haha.

Parking lot is wide open. They have underground parking as well. And it's free. Restaurant is big with good design inferior, and clean. The restaurant, is so busy when it came over 6.30P.m so the waiting list would be busy. They can do some reservations. The servers are friendly. We choose the all you can eat silver 55$ (48$ member). I was so exited at that time because the food is so amazing. We tried the beef sushi(speciality 1 times) , all of meat like beef ribeyes( the beef is wide ,this on is the best,), beef shoulder, (little bit chewy, and it's good) and beef brisket. We also get the assorted seafood. I would said the ponzu is better than the sesame sauce. The side, i think the spicy cram is the best. It's come with small portions ,literally they were so good! I suggest to order many cups. We tried every soup broth, like tomato(little bit plenty) sukiyaki broth ( sweet), house , and spicy miso( it's not that spicy like pepper, i like this one) At last, they will last call your table if you have been sitting for 90 minutes. We can get the free ice cream as a dessert. I tried matcha and strawberry. They have membership for 28$/year. In short, this restaurants is excellent. My first time tried this hot pot! I only spent around 67-73$( tips and tax) for the silver menu. We tried the silver is had pleasures us. I would try the gold next time :}

The Not-So-Good: - Value: At $78 per person before tax and tip, the $250 bill for three left us questioning the cost-to-experience ratio. - Sauces: The ponzu and sesame dips were oddly sweet, lacking the depth expected from a premium shabu spot. - Ambiance: The club-like music felt out of place and detracted from the dining experience.
