Great service from Sara and food was pretty good. If you come at opening, it was only less than 15 minutes wait. Sara did an excellent job on differentiating each Tier. She was also great in coming by and placing reorders. She was really attentive and was seriously so on it! So broth wasn't that great, not much flavor. We got Spicy Miso and House. Not really spicy either. After you eat the variety of meats, they all start tasting the same. The oyster was not good, probably the ones from the jar. You can definitely get your money's worth with the Gold Tier for $78. Diamond would only be worth it if you can really eat A LOTTT. But then again, you have only 90 minutes and they are pretty on it for the timing. They'll give you last call about 20-30 minutes. Love that drinks and dessert are also unlimited. The Milk Tea Bar wasn't available but they had Assam Milk Tea Dispenser on the side. Overall service definitely was top notch and was better than the food itself!

Delicious wagyu, excellent ambiance, quality meats, service, and overall a great time. I think the silver menu all you can eat is the best value but if you have the budget go for the gold. I don’t need the seafood and while the wagyu tastes great I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary.

Friendly staff and very fresh beef and seafood. The Sukiyaki pot was tasty, but some side dishes like bone marrow and beef tartar were just okay and could be skipped to focus on the main items. Despite the 90-minute limit, food was brought to the table quickly, and staff frequently checked in for refills. They also reminded us when time was almost up, suggesting us for a last order. Overall, it's a pretty good all-you-can-eat beef hot pot experience.

Google
First impression is the entire building smells like beef. Your clothes will smell like beef. Come on an empty stomach, you get more value out of this the more you can eat. Service is good in that they’re pretty quick to serve additional plates, and they check pretty frequently. Food of course is great, especially in the higher end packages: in my case I got the diamond, but gold has some good cuts too.

AYCE Wagyu Japanese A5 Yes please... I was excited to learn Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House was coming to Santa Clara, I believe they are a chain that started in So Cal. I tried dining here before, when they first opened. The wait was ridiculous. I was quoted 2 hours, but in reality it turned out to be around 3.5 hours..so that didn't happen. They hype had died down a bit now, making reservations and wait times more reasonable. I most definitely recommend checking out Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House if you get a chance. The quality of meats is very evident. The venue is bigger than it looks from the outside. There is also outdoor seating as well. I'm sure it works well int he warmer months. The parking lot is not the greatest. The main parking out in front fills up fast and the plaza has several other businesses, so parking is a bit challenging during peak hours. The service was excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful, no issues, service on point. All the meats were excellent, just as expected. We could taste the difference in quality and textures. The Broths were excellent as well. #WagyuEats: ~ SEAFOOD PLATTER - 5/5 A must order for Seafood lovers. A little bit of everything. This in itself is a lot of food. ~ SNACKS: FRY MINI BUN - 4/5 Just to be clear...this is dessert. It's sweet, not savory. Order this towards the end of your meal ~ WAGYU TARTARE - 1/5 Hard PASS on this one! It was the WORST Beef Tartare I ever had. They might had an off day on this one. Part of it was so cold it felt like was still partly frozen. Also the Beef was in chopped up cubes. Should call this Raw Beef Cube bowl, as this was NOT Beef Tartare. ~ SWEET SHRIMP SASHIMI - 3.5/5 They give you the whole shrimp...I thought it was a bit odd, that the heads weren't fried or taken off... ~ WAGYU BONE MARROW - 4/5 A solid Bone Marrow dish, fatty and flavorful, just as it should be. ~ COLD SIDES: - SEAWEED SALAD - 5/5 Perfect seaweed salad. Simple and refreshing. - SPICY CLAM - 5/5 I don't know what's in here... the flavor is brilliant. Savory delicious clams. - TAKO - 5/5 Marinated in Wasabi (probably Horseradish) Still delicious! Can't forget the desserts, that is if you still have room. There is also Soft Serve and Juice available as well. #Dessert: ~ Ice Cream: Matcha - 3/5 This was OK. I had better Matcha Ice Cream before. ~ Ube - 4/5 Sold Ube flavor. ~ Black Sesame - 4.5/5 Probably some of the best Black Sesame Ice Cream I had. ~ Mango - 2/5 Not very good, tasted funny or artificial. Can't wait to return...

We went on a Monday at 2pm and there was no wait. I've been wanting to go for a while but there is always a wait on weekends. This is the spot for all you can eat wagyu. The meat quality of the meat and presentation are great. You won't want to miss a single piece of the wagyu here. The sides, veggies, rice, curry dishes, drinks, sauce bar and ice cream are self-service. It's similar to Japan. We ordered half sukiyaki and half house broth. I've tried the spicy miso in the Houston location. All the broths are good and not salty, so I like them all equally. There is no where else that can match this hot pot place now. I thought the membership for $28 in Houston and was able to apply it here. If you love hot pot, the membership/rewards program is totally worth it. My guy Derek gave us the best service, very attentive and gave good recs. He recommended the grouper and it was a favorite of the day. We were taken care of and he deserves all the tips. The ambience of Mikiya is worth the money itself-- very clean and modern look. We got the Gold set meal, which I think is the best. Price point is a little high, but they can take all my money. It’s a great dining experience that can’t be found elsewhere in the Bay.

Great food. Great quality. Great price. Great service. We’ve had Thomas as a server a couple of times and he’s super friendly, professional, attentive and helpful! He’s always checking on us and is super communicative with everything :)

Google
Really good wagyu, food was great. Unlimited food option is amazing. Service was a bit slow and lacking due to the large number of customers. For seafood platter, we were not sure how to eat the crab as they did not give any kit for breaking the legs.

Justin H.

Yelp
Derek was awesome. He made the meat appear before he even left the table. He also made sure we were taken care of. Magic. Sukiyaki is fire Hagen daas Ice cream at the end. MILKTEA!

Yelp
It's great to have Travis to help us tonight for my daughter's birthday dinner! His service was so nice!

Yelp
good service - photo food is also great. Great place to have sukiyaki hot pot. More drinks choice is preferred.

Yelp
Shoutout to Ajit for making my first experience at Mikiya a great one. He treated my party like we were his friends while still upholding a professional front. He went over the menu quickly, yet thoroughly and took care of us from start to finish. There's a lot going on from people running around to get self serve items, music blasting, cooking your food... but it's a vibe. It seemed like everyone there was so happy. Me included, because the food was oh so good. Seriously though, the food and service here sets Mikiya apart by a large margin. The veggie selection is smaller than what I'm used to, but not a big deal. The sauce options were also scaled down compared to other places, but I didn't miss it. I barely used any sauce because the quality of the meat and the flavors of the broth are incredible on their own. We ended our dinner with fried buns and helllllla ice cream. I left with a full stomach and a full heart. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I recently dined at Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House, and it was a fantastic experience! This all-you-can-eat hot pot spot offers an impressive range of high-quality meats, but the star of the show is definitely the wagyu. The marbling on each slice was perfect, and it practically melted in my mouth--just what you want in a premium wagyu experience. The restaurant setup is welcoming and clean, with a sleek, modern ambiance that makes it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. The staff was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of, even during busy times. They refilled the broth promptly, offered tips on cooking the wagyu to perfection, and brought out extra plates of meat without delay. The broth options are flavorful, and there's a generous selection of fresh vegetables, noodles, and dipping sauces to customize each bite. I especially loved the sukiyaki broth, which complemented the richness of the wagyu perfectly. For anyone planning to come back regularly, I highly recommend joining their membership program. Members get exclusive discounts on each visit, along with special perks like early access to new menu items and priority reservations--which is a huge advantage, especially during peak times. The membership quickly pays for itself if you're a hot pot lover or just can't get enough of their amazing wagyu! Overall, Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House is a great choice for anyone looking to splurge on an AYCE experience with top-quality ingredients. The wagyu truly sets it apart from other hot pot spots, and it's well worth the price for the quality, service, and membership benefits you receive. I'll definitely be coming back to indulge again!

Yelp
Didn't think I'd find a place with a very 626/San Gabriel Valley vibe in NorCal! The shop is vibey, felt like we were eating outside in the night. The sukiyaki broth combined with the raw egg was amazing and it especially went well with the fatty cuts of beef. Ajit was super quick and attentive to our table, and made it easy for us to get the most of the menu we selected by getting our limited meat first alongside the special orders, and seafood bowl.

Jonai B.

Yelp
Walking into the restaurant I was very excited. You're immediately greeted by multiple slabs of A5 and they were all super tasty. The interior is huge, with a veggie, sauce, and juice bar. We got around 18 plates of wagyu, all the wagyu was super good! But for appetizers, the wagyu tartare needed more accompaniments than just a raw egg -- plus the meat was basically frozen. The shrimp had not been deveined either, very disappointing. Overall, the meat was good but will definitely get a different package if I come back and skip out on the seafood.

Yelp
This is our first time to Mikiya. We made reservation a week before so no fuss to get in. Ambiance: They have quite impressive meats on display at the entryway. You will also be welcomed by the boiling meat soup smell the moment you walk into the entryway. Maybe they can use a better ventilation system. Food: 3 combos to choose from (silver, gold, diamond), we decided to give gold a try. Meat plates were served immediately, high quality, nice cut and each plate has 3-5 slides of meat. Food was very delicious. Limited drinks and vegetable options. But it didn't bother us too much. Service: to be honest, we felt a little stressed and rushed by the waiter. From the moment our butts touched the seat, we kept being reminded that the clock is ticking. It feels more like we are in an eating contest or speed eating, and less civilized. IMHO, rushed eating hurts the experience, especially the restaurant tries to market itself as a premium of it's kind. I know it's out of good intention of the waiter, we were literally told we should eat more and talk less, or to be charged with an extra 20%. We will go back sometime in the future, wear hotpot attire and be prepared to speed eat the high quality meat!

Yelp
Mikiya has quickly become one of my top dining spots. My first time trying it for my friend's birthday, so I had somewhat of a high expectation since we love wagyu from Japan. Even better, they have a reservation system in place, which made it easy to plan this birthday dinner because when we showed up - it was busy! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by an impressive display of premium wagyu. A friendly host checked us in and seated us right away. The menu was easy to navigate, offering three set options--Silver, Gold, and Diamond. We decided on the Gold one, which gave us access to one round of the Japanese cuts, unlimited A5 wagyu brisket, and all the cuts from the Silver set. One highlight of the experience is the unlimited access to a vegetable bar, cold side dishes, sauce bar, soft drinks, milk tea, and even ice cream! Each set also includes a seafood platter and a specialty dish. We went with the beef nigiri and sweet shrimps. The seafood platter was kind of unnecessary since most of the them kind of got lost in the soup.. For the broths, we chose Japanese tomato and spicy miso. The food came out quickly, and in no time, we had an incredible spread in front of us. Starting with the meat: the Japanese cuts were noticeably superior to the Australian cuts. Our favorite? The Japanese A5 wagyu chuck ribeyes - perfectly marbled, with a melt-in-your-mouth richness. The vegetable selection was excellent, with mushrooms, cabbage, squash, tofu, and more. I really enjoyed the milk tea! So fun for them to have it on tap. Don't drink too much though, gotta save your stomach for the ayce. Service was attentive and friendly. Just a heads-up: there's a 90-minute dining limit, and they stick to it, so be mindful of pacing yourself to fully enjoy everything. They do give you reminders during your meal. Overall, we had a fantastic time and can't wait to return!

Yelp
Still a fan! We came here on a Wednesday night with reservations for four adults and a toddler at 6:30pm. We arrived a little before our friends and were seated immediately after checking in. I had been afraid that we would get a four-top with one person sitting in the aisle, but it wasn't busy yet when we arrived, so we got a six-top. We sat on the outside in chairs while our friends and their daughter sat inside on the banquette. It was also quite convenient that we had two cook tops instead of just one. We choose full pots of House and Sukiyaki Broths. Sticking to our habit of Diamond Sets, we started off with four of each A5 and the Seafood Platter. We also ordered two Bone Marrows and one each of the other specialty appetizers. The first round of beef was delivered while we were getting our sauces, drinks and accompaniments. Almost as soon as we sat back down, it was time to start cooking! We tore it up by consuming 32 plates of A5. We finished with some Tempura Prawns and Ice Cream. No, not together. Plusses, quick, attentive service and great food. Minuses, Milk Tea dispenser ran out again. Only Haagen Daaz Ice Cream. None of the past Asian Flavors (Ube, Mango, Green Tea). Booster seats for toddlers sitting on the banquette are not safe. The problem is that with the seat all the way back, when the child leans forward, the booster can tip forward. If you put the booster toward the front, the child can tip backwards. No pictures this time, it would just look like my previous pictures.

Yelp
I came with a group of 7 for reservations at 8:15pm on a Monday night, but we still needed to wait 20 mins. However, I heard people wait 2-3 hours sometimes without any reservations. So make sure you make one! We got the diamond menu. We figured we should just ball out since this is not somewhere we would go often. After tip and tax it was $125 a person. You get AYCE for all the apps (bone marrow, wagyu nigiri, ebi, tartar, and foi gras), seafood platter, drinks, veggie bar, ice cream, and the bestest of the best quality of meat. The scallop and abalone on the seafood platter was really good and big, other stuff on it was mehhh. The bone marrow was delicious! I also really loved the wagyu nigiri. It was o yummy!!! My favorite app. The MEAT was amazing! They quality was so fresh. It literally melted in your mouth. The flavor. Omg. So good. The next day, I wish I had ate more. haha. Service was wonderful. Waiter kept checking on us and ordering more food for us constantly. We never needed to ask for anything. The reason why I am giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because the milk tea cart was out of order. Also they ran out of Haagan daz ice cream was giving another brand. But most importantly, I felt like the vegetable/noodle bar did not have much variety compared to other places. They only had ONE type of noodles which was udon. I was hoping for vermicelli or knife cut or just more selections. Also would have liked more fishballs.

Sophie C.

Yelp
Second time here, made a Yelp resy about a week in advance so you don't have to wait 20+ mins at the door when you get here. Last visit was in July and things are all the same except for the ice cream selection. Sadly the matcha and ube flavors are no more. Service here is tops for an AYCE. Servers constantly checking on you so you don't waste time flagging them down. There's really no limit (at least none I'm aware of) as to how many servings you want at a time. Tables aren't that big to begin with, and though the plates all stack, there's really no need to hoard here. Once they put in your order, in about 20-30 secs show up another person with the order. Very efficient here! Even for a Thursday night, place is packed. Several birthday dinners (free basic menu if you're a member, or credit of $48 for the premium levels). The $28 membership fee pays itself quickly. Parking lot is shared with several other restaurants and businesses so it's not readily available but not too difficult either.

Jill M.

Yelp
I came when they first opened and I was do impressed. Came back again recently after the chaos have died down a bit, and Im still impressed! The quality of the ingredients are still high and we were truly satisfied.

Eunice T.

Yelp
I made a reservation on a Wednesday dinner. We arrived slightly before 5pm, and the place was already slightly busy. It was almost full by the time we left, so yeah, this place is definitely still popular! Make a reservation if you can. They deserve the popularity. The quality does live up to the hype. We went with the diamond menu since it was for a birthday celebration - gotta get the best available! This wasn't the first Mikiya I went to, so I guess my comparison is between the different branches. I must say, I LOVE the decor they did here. (The boba truck feels a bit under-utilized though). I also like how many of the items are self serve, which allows the waiters/waitresses to provide fast services + us to control the food portion. Our meats were served IMMEDIATELY (within seconds) of us putting in the order. The specialty dishes were not bad. The bone marrow here is not bad. It's not big, but it's enough since it's pretty fatty. The flavor was good. I'm not a fan of the foie gras, but I did enjoy the wagyu nigiri and wagyu tartare. The sweet shrimp sashimi did not taste that great/fresh. For the meat, we focused mainly on the wagyu shoulder cut. The seafood platter was great. I loved how we could customize and order individual items a la carte. I did not care much for the pearl grouper though. My suggestion : Gold Menu would've been enough for your first visit (just so you can decide whether or not the ability to order more wagyu shoulder and wagyu ribeye is worth the extra $20/pp for you). Now, why did I take out a star if it's so great? When I first arrived at the restaurant, the milk tea was still available. I did not realize that they would be taking it away though. By the time I put my stuff down at the table and went back to try the milk tea, it's been emptied out. They left the container there though, so it was baiting me the whole time, thinking that they'd refill it/reminding me that I missed out. I wish they would've removed it or put a sign that it's out for the day. It's a minor thing, but it does make the experience slightly less amazing. Also - I was actually looking forward to their Minced Wagyu over Rice since I LOVED the one at their other location. Unfortunately, since this was pre-made and put in the container, the meat feels overcooked and slightly too dry (my bf thought it was amazing and perfect). The sauce still taste pretty amazing though. Oh! I do like that the idea that there's also the curry version, except it wasn't really executed well. I've definitely had better beef curry elsewhere. The last bit is the ice cream. The best part about AYCE for me, usually, is to be able to enjoy my ice cream on the way out from the restaurant. I understand why they had the sign about charging for ice-cream to go, but I ended up having to leave leftover ice cream on the table because I couldn't finish it immediately. Maybe switch to a soft serve/ice cream machine? Or, make the Haagan Daaz order on request? I'm not sure if they would've actually charged me for taking my half-eaten ice cream with me, but I didn't want to risk breaking the rule. Overall, this Mikiya does seem better on paper (with the layouts, decor, options, etc), but the "could be executed better" part also stuck out more because of this. I would still highly recommend going at least once though!

Hallie H.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 6 and was seated around my reservation time. From the moment we arrived, our server was incredibly attentive and kind, making us feel welcome right away. One of the highlights was how quickly the meat was served--unlike other places where you spend too much time waiting. It allowed us to enjoy our meal without interruptions. The quality of the meat was definitely worth the price although I can't afford to come as often as I'd like. It's definitely making me consider the membership tho... I also loved the unlimited soft drinks and milk tea options, which were a nice touch. The first time I grabbed a drink the milk tea was running low so I mixed guava juice with calpico and it tasted great! And let's not forget the unlimited Häagen-Dazs ice cream and soft serve--such a sweet way to end the meal! I heard my friends went and were offered ube or some other flavors, but when I went our options were basic like dulce de leche, coffee, and vanilla. If I had to suggest a couple of improvements, it would be to streamline the line for sauces and vegetables. It can get pretty hectic, so a bit more space or additional stations would really help. I definitely spent the most time in the sauce line because people were trying to grab 3 at a time. I'd also appreciate a wider variety of toppings, like bean curd and quail eggs. Lastly, the tables felt a bit cramped, making it challenging to squeeze into the booths even though I'm a pretty small person already. Overall, Mikiya is definitely worth a visit, and I can't wait to come back but most likely has to be a special occasion for me to shell out $50 for a meal.

Alice L.

Yelp
*3.5 Stars I was so excited to try Mikiya once they opened their location in Santa Clara, but never got the opportunity too since the wait is usually so long. Our server was friendly and would constantly check up on us which was nice. The meat was also very soft and would melt in your mouth, but a huge reason to as why I only gave 3.5 stars is the unflavorful broth, bad sauce, and the most underwhelming appetizers. The bread and tortilla chips paired with the wagyu beef tartar/ bone marrow were both stale and the meat itself was flavorless. I'm glad I got to try this place but probably won't be back for a while.

Iris F.

Yelp
Probably wouldn't come back bc only a couple items were actually good, some items were very mid or borderline bad, and it ended up being $100/person after tax and tip for a mid experience. We got the gold tier and maxed out on the limited fancy meats like wagyu, which was delicious and melt in your mouth. But you only get a few servings per person so that ran out quickly and everything else was kind of mid. I would recommend skipping the seafood platter bc they give way too much, the fish isn't that good or fresh, and it prevents you from eating more meat (which is much more worth it). Also the specialty dish (one per person) was hit or miss. Bone marrow was probably the best, wagyu nigiri was ok, and wagyu tartare was straight up bad. The meat in the tartare was cut into cubes wayyy too big instead of having more of a ground texture, and also completely lacked any seasoning. It's cool that they have a drinks bar with more than just soda but unfortunately they only had like one sip left of the milk tea and no one ever refilled it. We were also very excited for the ice cream, which actually looked like a nice selection of flavors but sadly it had clearly been melted and refrozen bc the texture was super icy.

Jodie S.

Yelp
Truly delicious! They are definitely more expensive than your normal AYCE restaurant but for a very valid reason. The quality of the meat is similar to that at an a la carte hot pot. The seafood was amazingly fresh as well. There's also unlimited side dishes, drinks, and ice cream on the side. The wagyu nigiri was delicious but the shrimp sashimi was a little hard to eat. If your shrimp peeling skill isn't the best, maybe try their other special dishes. The sukiyaki broth was amazing, 10/10 would recommend. We ordered the silver menu and that was honestly more than enough. We didn't feel like there was a lack in variety of the meat. The servers were really nice and attentive. The restaurant itself was very well decorated and had similar vibes to fine dining but without the silence and calm.

Izzie L.

Yelp
The wait for this place is crazy but I was not disappointed at all with the quality of food and service! You simply must come out to Mikiya! FOOD [4.5/5] =========== The gold set comes with a side (I chose Bone Marrow which was a 5/5), Seafood (3/5) which was kind of hard to eat because of the temperature, and of course, unlimited wagyu meats. I was blown away by the great quality of these meats and the quick service! Unfortunately, I thought the flavor of the broths were around a 3.5/5-- a little too sweet and over-powering for my taste. The interior of the place is beautiful-- lively but not too crowded. You have a wide selection of AYCE veggies, tofus, sauces, and drinks. Service was simply amazing (shoutout to Isaac!).

Ya Y.

Yelp
I finally made it to this popular hotpot place in Santa Clara, and it's absolutely worth the hype! I highly recommend making reservations in advance through their Yelp page; otherwise, there could be a long waitlist if you try walking in during rush hours. They offer three tiers, each with different amounts and types of wagyu meat. If you sign up for their annual membership, you and a guest can enjoy the member pricing. So, I signed up, especially knowing I'll be coming back for more. Silver: $55/person, $48/member Gold: $78/person, $68/member Diamond: $98/person, $88/member They have a great selection of fresh, neatly organized vegetables as well. My favorite was the tofu! I also really enjoyed their curry with rice. To top it all off, they offer unlimited ice cream in multiple flavors.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Made a reservation here on a Saturday evening, I would highly highly recommend doing so to avoid the wait! We were seated quickly upon arrival and was shown the menu with different tiers of AYCE. My family and I chose the most basic tier which offered a variety of meats, a seafood platter which my parents loved, and an appetizer. We chose the foo grais, wagyu nigiri, and sweet shrimp. The shrimp was a bit hard to peel and the resulting meat was so small. Quality wise, the meat was very tender but hard to tell that it was the marbly feel of wagyu. Also, there was not much variety of vegetables in the self serve station which disappointed me given the steep price point. Overall, I'd recommend coming here to try but I'd hope they make these changes soon

Yelp
Came here twice in the span of 3 months lol. First for birthdays and second for a small get together with friends. Wish I got the membership because it would have definitely been worth it for me (I was not expecting to come here a 2nd time so fast!) For the first time, we got the diamond package (about 98) and a few bottles of sake, so it came out to be almost $150 per person. But we were celebrating birthdays, so it wasn't a big deal. I suggest at least trying the diamond package once to try out all the foods and combinations you can get. I really enjoyed the Japanese wagyu and all the appetizers we got. Since we had 8 people, the unlimited apps and wagyu refills went by quickly, as well as the seafood platter. The seafood platter was whatever to me, but I am glad that for the diamond package, you could substitute the different items on the seafood platter (such as more scallops instead of crab or lobster). The seafood platter is a combination of crab, oyster, scallops, fish, and shrimp. I only liked the scallops out of all of them, but I am picky with my seafood! The appetizers I enjoyed and repeated often were the foie gras, bone marrow and the wagyu nigiri. The second time, we got the silver package, which is the cheapest (about 50-60$). You do not get the Japanese a5 wagyu but you do just get regular wagyu. No refills on the appetizers or the seafood platter. Appetizers is one per person, so it's enough for a couple bites. We got the wagyu tartare, which I was not really fan of. The meat and egg taste was overpowered by the saltiness from the tortilla chips that were tossed on the plate. If you dont want to shell out too much and have been to Mikiya before, I think this is the best option. You still get a great deal of meat options, and honestly I barely tasted the different between the Japanese a5 and regular wagyu once it hit the broth. All options include the sauce bar, which compares to Haidilao and the hot pot places. I wish their veggie selection was bigger (but I get it, people are here to eat wagyu not veggies), but it wasn't bad. They have basic stuff, such as Napa cabbage, tong ho, mixed mushrooms, spinach, tofu etc. Their veggie bar has some cold selections that I loveddd -- the takowasabi (octopus and wasabi), and their spicy clams! I like that they had a rice bowl selection -- Japanese curry bowl and wagyu beef bowl. here you can also grab organic pasteurized eggs from the fridge as well. Love their drinks selections like calpico, guava juice, and Assam milk tea! They also had a freezer full of mini haagan daaz ice cream. They had 6 flavors -- strawberry, dulce leche , caramel cone, vanilla, chocolate and coffee. Perfect little something sweet to top off AYCE wagyu meal

Yelp
Have come to this Mikiya location twice and have both times left so stuffed. Located on the corner of Homestead and Lawrence Expressway, Mikiya is one of the top AYCE wagyu shabu spots. The inside feels hectic with multiple self-serve stations and many workers delivering huge stacks of raw meat to hella tables. How it works: - Choose your Tier of wagyu (Silver [American], Gold [Australian], Platinum [Japanese]) - Each member of the party also gets to choose one of five specialty dishes - Your table gets 90 minutes to dine For our first visit, Thomas was our server and he was amazing! He was on top of our party of 7, prepping our next order of meat and keeping our table cleared of empty dishes. I don't remember our server for our second visit, but she was hard to reach and we saw more of the other bussers/waiters than we saw her. For me, I felt a lot of anxiety the second time coming as there's just so much to do during the meal - cook the food, grab the sides, make the sauces, grab drinks, stack the empty meat dishes. I felt like I barely had time to eat. However, what I did eat, I loved the taste! Personally, I have only had the Gold Tier (Australian) and have not tried any others yet. I like that the middle tier isn't too rich, but still meaty enough to enjoy the wagyu. Definitely a great place to come for lunch or dinner. Just make sure to come on an empty stomach!

Yelp
Was able to join the waitlist pretty easy on Yelp. Got there around 8:45PM and it was crowded!!! No parking lots of people outside waiting. Good thing we didn't wait long, got seated around 9:15? Anyway, our server Brian was super nice. He was very attentive of our needs and also helped us choose our set since it was our first time. We got the gold package and it didn't disappoint. So much food. I got the bone marrow as the special dish and hubby got the wagyu nigiri. All the meats were so good! Sauce bar you'll find tons of options along with the rice. And veggie bar and cold sides also. The drinks were all self serve and also got Haagen Dazs ice cream for dessert. What does need improvement tho, the floors. It's quite slippery. Hopefully this can be remedied because if a customer slips, it may not be good. I almost did so I felt like I had to tip toe. Just a suggestion.

Yelp
9/21/2024 The Chubby Group operates and manages multiple Wagyu beef all you can eat concept restaurants around the US. Most notably is X Pot inside the Venetian resort complex in Las Vegas. Mikiya is its sister chain of Shabu restaurants on a lesser theatrical scale. Location: as I do reside in San Francisco, the drive to Santa Clara is roughly 1 hour. The general area itself (San Jose proper, Cupertino, Milpitas) is known to have an influx of Asian grocers, shops and restaurants. Reservations: only through Yelp and time slots open up 7 days prior. This is a very busy restaurant, and so staff may not answer the phone immediately and so messages can be left and a call back will be provided. Once you arrive to the restaurant, check in with the host to be seated. The restaurant: we waited roughly 10 minutes for our table to be ready and then seated. The interior design is very modern, with a glass display of Wagyu beef slabs right as you enter the restaurant. An area that is fully lit in neon lights (think of night market vibes) that houses a chilled bar for condiments, sides, vegetables, sauce bar, beverage station, ice cream freezers, and glass refrigerator of prepped cuts of Wagyu beef. Our table: a friendly server greeted us and provided ordering instructions. We opted for the highest tiered option, diamond ($100 a person) which includes unlimited cuts of wagyu beef, seafood, and appetizers. Beverages are self service and we only have 90 minutes to eat. The food: one really has to come here, or any all you can eat establishments fully hungry. Here is what we ate: -Half pot of: tomato & house broth. -Australian Wagyu beef: we ordered all 5 cuts. We were able to order 4 rounds within the 90 minute time limit. -Seafood platter: snow crab, oysters, scallops, shrimp and abalone. -Appetizers: we ordered everything; foi gras on toast, bone marrow with toast, Wagyu tar tar with toast, langoustine, and Wagyu nigiri. Beverages: soda dispenser, Asam milk tea, Calpico, and fruit juices. Dessert: Haagen-Dazs (Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Ducle de Leche). Rating: I would like to give my experience a 5 star rating, however 1 star off came from several factors. While we were aware of the 90 minute time limit, it is hard to keep track of time if one has to rush while eating or if one is enjoying the meal and loses track of time. There was no tablet for self ordering, and so we relied heavily on the staff to take our order and serve them as quickly as possible. If there was some kind of digital notification so that a table would dine accordingly, that would be so helpful. On our 4th round of ordering, that was roughly 15 minutes before our end of service, but that it took roughly 10 minutes for our final items to arrive. A member of staff, though politely, asked us to vacate the premises as our 90 minutes have lapsed. It would have been nice if we were able to finish our dessert versus being abruptly asked to leave. Overall: an all you can eat Wagyu Shabu experience worth experiencing. Come hungry and you will definitely leave happy.

Yelp
AMAZING! I went when they first opened, so there wasn't a wait. I was seated right away and given recommendations on which set to choose. We ended up getting the $46 per person set, which comes with a choice of appetizers, including wagyu tartare, shrimp, or bone marrow with bread. There's also an option to select additional appetizers from a range of fried foods, followed by a choice of meats. The experience was amazing and very self-serve, from milk tea, sauce, ice cream, to vegetables for the hotpot. We went with the sukiyaki and house special broths. I highly recommend the sukiyaki as it's more flavorful than the house special, which tasted rather bland. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I would definitely come back again!

Yelp
It's quite pricy for hot pot, but you get AYCE A5 Japanese Wagyu and it's soooo worth it. I'm so glad I did a 4mi hike before I got here for dinner because I otherwise wouldn't be able to eat as much as I did. The seafood platter came with fresh abalone, scallops, snow crab, shrimp, oysters and fish. I wish I could pick which seafood I wanted. The sauce bar was good, but small. I didn't like that there was a line up for it. I liked that you can grab your own vegetables. Drinks are included with your meal and they had Assam milk tea (I didn't try this), passionfruit juice (delicious!), Calpico, and guava juice along with the standard soda machine options. They also had fried appetizers that we decided to skip this meal (popcorn chicken, tempura shrimp, etc) Ajit was our server and he was quick and attentive. Already made plans to come back again next week!....which also made me regret that I forgot to get the membership!

Yelp
I'll be honest I wish the limit was 2 hrs instead of 90 minutes, especially if we're paying $100 per person! For the special dishes, my table of 5 shared the tartare, wagyu nigiri, and marrow. Favorite was definitely marrow. Wagyu nigiri was ok, not particularly amazing, and the tartar didn't taste seasoned at all. Also was kinda weird that it was frozen beef cubes instead of a smooth mince. All the Japanese wagyu meats were great and everything was nearly the same (ribeye, shoulder, brisket), but maybe the ribeye was a little bit yummier. It's nice that the Japanese wagyu brisket was unlimited! Our table got the pearl grouper fish slices and seafood platter which was honestly a mistake. The crab for me takes too long to peel and the 90-minute time limit is tight. There is one communal split hot pot on the table. The house ponzu broth was ok but I think I'd try the tomato next time because I got tired of the sourness. The sukiyaki was very flavorful. I loved the braised wagyu rice as an appetizer as the broth is heating up. The cold appetizers (wasabi octopus and spicy clam) was not worth. I loved the tiny haagen dazs at the end! There was also another brand which tasted like it melted and refroze though. All in all, it was fun and some things were delicious but I expected more from a $100 price point.

Yelp
Decided to have something LIGHT for dinner and was IMPRESSED by the selection in meats, vegs, sides, dessert and drinks! The wagyu was definitely melt in your mouth quality. I recommend getting the Sukiyaki and House broth. The drinks include: Milk Tea, Calico, Guava and Passion fruit juice Anyways, I definitely recommend y'all stop by and try them out while you're in the area.

Yelp
If the food was good, the service was even better all thanks to our friendly server Ajit. He kept checking up on us, clearing our plates when they piled up and made sure we were pretty much good. The meats were top notch (got the diamond). The unlimited ice cream and music also helped to elevate the amazing experience. We will definitely be back. Thanks Ajit, you're the sh!t (in a good way)!

Yelp
Update 9/14: Travis was another amazing waiter we had today! Definitely hooked my little brother up with all the nigiri he wanted. If you couldn't tell from the pictures it's his favorite thing to order off the diamond menu. As always, the food and atmosphere is top tier. Always try to snag a spot on the waitlist since the wait is still long (but very worth it!!). Mikiya will always be our favorite celebration spot. We came for my other little brother's birthday

Lana N.

Yelp
They now have option to reserve a week ahead for lunch and dinner. The line is not bad when you go weekday lunch time. We got seated promptly and decided on the lowest cost one since there's 3 of us we don't need Ayce appetizers or seafood platters The meat was definitely high quality and really yummy. A little fatty but with the sukiyaki soup it made it sweet without any dipping needed. We opt for the house special soup base 2/5 bc it was flavorless Sukiyaki 4/5 always a favorite, sweet broth which coated everything we put in. Overall the experience is nice, food is good. What not to love (besides long lines on weekends)

Yelp
Amazing place with ayce Japanese A5 wagyu on the menu. The staff was so friendly and explained everything for us. We had 90 mins. We got two broths. We ordered multiple plates of the A5. We got to try the seafood platter and the seasonal fish. The scallops were fresh and we ate a lot of abalone. They also have a sauce bar and vegetable bar. They have self serve drink machine with Coke Zero and milk tea as well. Don't bother with the Australian Wagyu...it was tough and not as good as the Japanese A5. Our server, Sara, was always checking up on us and making sure we got our orders in. Everything comes pretty fast. We were given a last call with 20 minutes left and reminded not to forget the ice cream. Definitely know we will be back, so we joined their annual membership for the discount. Thank you very much for an awesome experience!

Yelp
Mesmerised!! Bought a membership on the first visit. This is Japanese shabu shabu, not the mala hot pot. Very tasty! My wife and I were so happy that we discovered this place. 4 min from Kaiser, Homstead.

Mary W.

Yelp
Everything was sooo fresh and good. Yes! It's expensive, but definitely worth it! Japanese A5 wagyu chuck ribeye just so tender. Highly recommend the sukiyaki broth for the meat and get the house brought for the seafood. The abalone and scallops are decent size and they are super fresh. I never had such a good service from our server. She was super fast, friendly and attentive. Can't ask for more! She was on top of her job. Highly recommend to join their membership for $28 and then the next town you come back this membership is already pay off.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday meal With my wife. Ajit was great and very helpful even when the restaurant was packed.

Yelp
Wow all the 5 star reviews that I feel I must be crazy, I give it a 3.5 max for the food. The extra .5 is for the cleanliness, friendliness, and Haagen daaz ice cream. 3 options, silver, gold, and Diamond. I got the gold, tried the wagyu nigiri and bone marrow toast as our special dish. Wagyu nigiri was not as melty in your mouth as I'm used to for wagyu, a bit disappointed. The bone marrow has a very similar taste for a braised lobster dish my mom makes, but again the bone marrow wasn't melty , it was crumbly? The broth selection I was not impressed with, not much flavor. I left the crab in from the seafood platter to flavor it more. For the house and spicy miso (I wouldn't even say it tasted mild) The specialty wagyu meats, the one that's just one per person , those were good, but then the unlimited options all just tasted like regular run of the mill brisket. I think when people here wagyu, and endless Wagyu, they all imagine those special one per person wagyu meat. Very deceiving . Veggie options were minimal .. kobacha squash, bok choy, crown daisy, a couple mushrooms, and romaine lettuce ? (Personally I wouldn't cook romaine lettuce in hot pot but sure I guess) . A couple tofu and cold dishes were seaweed salad, raw octopus and baby clams. A few other fried side dishes but I came here for WAGYU not fries tempura. Though the shrimp tempura was decent. Your sets come either a seafood platter, which looks fancy but the fish (nothing special - even the seasonal grouper) will fill you up so fast, therefore you'll eat less beef. All that aside, it's not the worst place, but I feel I could order better meats (better than their unlimited options) a la carte elsewhere and still pay the same price as here , so I would probably not return here unless someone wants to. The unlimited Haagen daaz ice cream is nice but who can eat more than one or two anyway? TLDR; the special cuts are NOT part of AYCE, just one per person. Deceiving if that's the cut you expect to be unlimited. The regular AYCE cuts are nothing special. Would rather order a la carte for better meat elsewhere and prob pay same price that way. Broth bland. Veggies limited option. Free ice cream yay. Service nice.

Yelp
"Why haven't I tried Mikiya sooner?" I thought after my first bite. Being a fan of Chubby Cattle Group's other spots like XPot and Wagyu House, I walked into Mikiya with pretty high expectations--and wow, they totally exceeded them. Everything from the service to the food and the overall vibe was spot on. Our server was super friendly and took the time to walk me through the menu since it was our first time there. When it comes to hot pot, I always start by judging the broths. I ordered both the spicy miso and house broth. While I usually lean toward something with a kick, the house broth was surprisingly my favorite--it perfectly enhanced the flavor of the meat. We ordered several rounds of wagyu (which was melt-in-your-mouth tender) and a fresh seafood platter that included shrimp, abalone, scallops, fish, crab legs, and oysters. By the end, we were happily stuffed. The sauce bar had plenty of options to choose from, and I liked the self-serve veggie and sides bar, especially the noodles and marinated squid (my fav). Not to mention they offer free drinks and ice cream for dessert! Even though I live an hour away, I signed up for their $28 membership on spot. It's worth it, especially with perks like a FREE meal on your birthday and discounts every time you visit. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Have had this place on my list for a few months. After hearing that seats can be reserved we jumped at the opportunity. A membership cost $28 and comes with a free birthday meal at the most basic tier. If you buy a membership, the current meal is priced at the membership rates so it pays for itself pretty quickly. We opted for diamond because we wanted unlimited premium meats and to try the speciality dishes. The speciality dishes weren't that great other than the wagyu nigiri and bone marrow. The premium meats were really tasty and tender. We focused on the premium meats even though we had the option to get unlimited seafood too, the premium meat is the tastiest of all. It is good to come early since the place was very busy and there was a long line at the sauce station. There is also pasteurized egg to dip your meat into with the sukiyaki base. The Japanese rice was also tasty. There is also tea, milk tea, and Hagen daz ice cream. We were really stuffed and enjoyed the quality of the premium meats.

Yelp
I reserved a table for a party of 8 - heard and seen great things about this place so really wanted to give this place a try the past couple of months. Checking in was a bit hectic since there were a lot of people. The wait for us was about an hour. They were able to seat the six of us and two was at a separate table but right next to us. The service was quick, the menu was very straightforward (all of us decided on the gold menu). We really enjoyed every single thing! I absolutely loved how there were unlimited side dishes. The restaurant itself was so cute with the milk tea bar, vegetable, self serve drinks, sauces, and other items. It was an amazing experience and will definitely consider getting a membership there!

Scarlett L.

Yelp
Best hotpot place in town! The meat is very quality and the amount of side dishes - wagyu beef/curry wagyu beef rice, assorted vegetables, seaweed salad, wasabi octopus, even pasteurized egg, unlimited at your disposal! Our server Ajit is also the best server all around! We ordered with him and he told us everything will be on the table by the time we come back from getting our drinks/sides, and indeed they were! We came back to a table full of food. Every time we finish a plate the servers are always very fast to clean our empty dishes too. Overall a very good experience! Definitely will come back again

Yelp
After hearing good things about it, I visited Mikiya with my family for my birthday. Since I had made a reservation beforehand, we were seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant's interior was modern and had a high-end hot pot vibe. You know you're getting some good wagyu once you enter the place. Our server was nice and helped explain the menu in detail. Mikiya offers 3 tiers for their AYCE: Silver, Gold, and Diamond. The Silver Tier offers only Australian Wagyu, the Gold Tier offers unlimited Japanese Wagyu Brisket and one plate of Japanese Wagyu ribeye and shoulder, and the Diamond Tier offers unlimited Japanese Wagyu cuts. All tiers can get the seafood platter and specialty items, but only the diamond can get order additional plates. All tiers get access to drinks, veggies, rice, and ice cream, which are self-serve. My family opted for the Gold Tier as we didn't need the unlimited seafood/fancy Wagyu cuts and were happy with having unlimited Japanese Wagyu brisket. Since writing about everything we ate will be too long, I'll highlight my favorite parts. The sukiyaki soup base was amazing as it had a stronger flavor, made the meat more tasty, and went well with the provided raw egg dip (located in the self-serve station). The Japanese wagyu cuts were marbled well and are very tasty. Even though the AYCE wagyu brisket isn't as marbled as the single ribeye and shoulder, it still has that mouth melting wagyu feel to it. The tofu (in the veggie section) was very smooth and had a grilled texture to it. It was a hidden gem of the experience. The drink selection was good, and I really liked the guava juice. The service was fast and made sure we were efficient with our time. There were a couple of downsides/letdowns to the restaurant. First, the special sides were alright. I got the wagyu tartar which didn't have much flavor, and took effort to construct. The seafood platter wasn't that high quality and the sheer amount of seafood overpowered the taste of the soup base. I would not recommend it if you're not a huge fan of seafood. The AYCE meats that weren't the Japanese wagyu brisket were a bit tough and didn't have the same impact as the wagyu brisket. Overall, I would still come back here again for another occasion. I'll be sure to just order the Japanese wagyu brisket and get some veggies on the side!

Yelp
If you are looking for a treat yourself restaurant for you and your partner or friends, this is a great place to check out because my group definitely treated ourselves to Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House. We did the Diamond Wagyu Set and we sat, ate and conquered. The service was great! Our server was nice and very attentive. She let us know that it is a 90 minute time limit and explained the menu to us in great detail. She was fast with getting our orders in and clearing plates off our table. Food always came out fast too! She even gave us a heads up when we were approaching our time limit for last call. We really enjoyed the quality of the food for an all you can eat hot pot. Our two soup bases were Sukiyaki and Spicy Miso. The beef and seafood options, sauce bar, vegetable market sides, specialty dishes, milk tea and unlimited ice cream were all so good. This place almost felt like I was a kid in a candy store, I had to try everything. Overall, it was such a great experience and definitely worth trying!

Yelp
Delicious bougie upscale shabu/hot pot. I came here with a large group and everyone enjoyed their meals. Their menu might be a little confusing as they have different tiers of menus from the $55 Silver, $78 Gold and $98 Diamond. These can be discounted if you sign up for their membership or if you own part of their NFT which can be used in their other sister restaurants. My group went with the Diamond Wagyu Set which gifts you the seafood platter and then some. Had I come back again, I'd stick with the Silver or Gold because the seafood platter isn't worth $20 more per person. The seafood taste gets lost in the shabu. What's included: shrimp, scallops, sea bass or grouper?/white flesh fish, oysters, Abalone and crab. I felt that with Shabu, you can't exactly extract the full rich and indulgent taste of wagyu beef, drenched in your self made sauce. The quality of meat is high quality, vibrant, and fresh. I had a great time here because the restaurant is huge. You'll be able to explore the restaurant and find a self device milk tea, soda, ice cream and salad bars to accompany your meal. Take advantage of their sides because they are a must and really delicious. I think I had about 3 services of the wagyu nigiri. There's also bone marrow, foie gras, wagyu tartare, shrimp tempura, fried mantou and more. Service is attentive and they want you get full. Eat merrily and be happy!

Yelp
Our reservation was at 4:15pm on a Sunday. It was popping!!!! So many full tables. The music was blasting. Our waiter was great, he explained the menu options. The sukiyaki broth is a must!!!! My favorite is cooking Napa cabbage and udon noodles in the broth to eat w the meats because it soaks up the sukiyaki flavor so well! The juices were not good. The milk tea was already, pretty basic. Nothing fancy! Our favorite sides was rice, egg, napa cabbage, & seaweed salad! The star of the show was the waygu nigiri, I wanted to order so many of those. It did not come out fast enough. The sweet shrimp sashimi was not it... it still had the shell on it??? We also really liked the milk bun and ice cream for dessert :) there is just sooo many sides! Lots to try!

Yelp
This was my first shabu shabu experience and since I heard good things about Mikiya, we decided to try it out. I made a reservation since I heard the wait can be long. We decided to go with the silver tier, since A5 can be a little too fatty (personal preference). Alan, our initial server, and Logan, who took over for Alan, helped take care of us and they were amazing. Alan walked us through and explained the process thoroughly for us. He was always around whenever we needed something and made sure we were good during our meal. Logan only took over near the end of our meal but was helpful as well. We went half-half with the sukiyaki broth and house broth. I preferred the sukiyaki broth, as it provided sweetness, but the house broth paired better with sauces for me. Both complimented the meat and veggies in different ways. For my special item, I tried the bone marrow. I wish there was a bit more bread for the bone marrow since it was so fatty but it was still delicious. We decided to order multiple rounds of chuck ribeye and brisket, as well as one seafood platter. The meat was sliced so thinly it cooked in a matter of seconds, making for a quick bite. The seafood platter had shrimp, scallops, fish, oysters, abalone, and crab. I didn't expect such a variety so it was a nice surprise. Our seafood tasted pretty fresh so I was satisfied. There is a sauce bar (ponzu, green onion, garlic, thai chili, etc.), drink bar (soda, juice, milk tea), and ice cream freezer (strawberry, mango, ube)! All are unlimited and are free to grab at any time. I do wish there was a bit more veggie selection but it is a meat-focused establishment so not a big deal. I had a great time eating here and though it is pricer, would come back for special occasions. I appreciate that there is no limit to ordering and that the items you order arrive quickly (minimal wait time). They definitely don't waste your time here and make your experience worthwhile.

Yelp
The food is remarkable, but the best part of our experience here was Ajit who went into beast mode to make sure we always had good, plates cleared, extra utensils, and anything else we need. The boba bus isn't there, but I'll somehow persevere. Ask for Ajit for top notch service and a hilarious personality.

Amanda J.

Yelp
First time visit tonight and it was amazing. We had Ajit and he took such good care of us! When in doubt, ask him to set you up with what's good. The best part is how quick the meat comes out when you order it - no waiting around while the clock ticks down.
