10 Best Bars in Bangkok

"Hail a cab from the Ekkamai BTS station then zig-zig through narrow residential lanes to reach this a charming mid-century home with a leafy yard: That's Mikkeller, the first Asian location of the beloved Danish beer bar. Here, the so-called "beertenders" dole out samples and tasting flights. While the majority of the offerings are Mikkeller beers, there are also brews from 8 Wired in New Zealand, Lervig in Norway, and Young Master Brewery in Hong Kong. The bar menu, which is robust enough to stand up to the strong IPAs, ranges from finger foods like loaded fries to heartier options like wagyu burgers, homemade sausage, and pork belly with mashed potato." - Ashley Niedringhaus

This is a must-visit spot in Ekkamai! The smoked ribs are melt in your mouth and flavorful. Rare premium craft beers from around the world. The atmosphere is chill and laid-back, with your choice of cozy indoor seating or a breezy garden. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and truly know their stuff. Whether you're new to craft beer or a serious fan, they’ll guide you to the perfect match for your food. 🍖🍺

I love Mikkeller and what they've done with beer! Mikkeller Bangkok has a super cozy location, a good walk from Ekkamai station, but it's worth it. Beautiful indoor layout, 30 taps and a fridge filled with the best imports! There's a tasting room in the back, with even more cans/bottles. Seating outside, for small groups, larger groups, and supposedly there will be seating available on the 2nd floor. Friendly, attentive staff! On weekdays it will be lesser crowded.

A must-visit!! Great selection of unique beers, great service, and a beautiful library of bottles collected from around the world! Amazed by their curation of lambic/wild beers 🎀

First of all, a word about staff and location. Staff members are phenomenal! Very kind and helpful. Very hospitable. I have not a single criticism of them. The location is beautiful and off the beaten path. However, the beers on tap are NOT fresh. Very flat, at least when I’ve visited (a number of times). And prices are WAY above anything else you will purchase in Thailand. Doesn’t live up to Mikkeller standards. Not worth it.

My happy (& hoppy) place In Bangkok. The famous Danish brewery shines in their beautiful estate, with local beers added to the craft beer taps. Highly recommended for food, drink and a stunning indoor / outdoor setting. A dedication to hospitality .. often missing in this era.

This was, and still is, my home away from home in Bangkok. Lots of memories here. Nostalgia aside, it’s the place to go if you care about beer and want a well-rounded bar experience, too. The tap list is always interesting (not to mention there are 30 options, including some wine), and the fridge selection is even better. The staff is awesome — shout out to Ben, of course, but the whole team is great! There’s a fun soundtrack — usually pop-, rock-, or indie-adjacent — but the music is never too loud, so it really invites you to settle in for the night with your friends. The food is tasty, there are loads of events and pop-ups, and the setting is second to none, even if you have to travel to get there. The garden is quiet, lush, and beautiful, but there’s also full-blast air con inside for Bangkok’s steamy nights. Love this place and everyone involved with it.

Mikkeller is the best brewery in the world! I love the location in San Diego, and the Bangkok location did not disappoint. While slightly pricey, they have a great beer selection, and the food is pretty amazing (and reasonably priced or the portions). The beer chicken is honestly a great deal! Definitely a wonderful spot to chill out and have a meal. It’s fun. You’ll spend $50 but leave stuffed and probably fairly intoxicated. Update: I returned a year later. The San Diego brewery location has closed, so this was an extra-special treat. They had a mystery sour on tap that was amazingly good. I had the beer chicken once more and it was just as good as the first time. Long live Mikkeller #goated Update 2: Came back tonight to visit Mikkeller BKK, one of my all-time favorites. I tried a double IPA sour, which was remarkably good despite how hoppy it was on the back-end. I also tried the Mikkeller mandarin lime sour, which I liked but I found not tart enough for my palette. The beer chicken was great as always. Took a peek in the bottle shop and bought a Mikkeller shirt that says “Mikkeller” in Thai.
