The 7 Best Soul Food Restaurants In Houston - Houston - The Infatuation

"Mikki’s Soulfood Cafe in Brays Oaks usually has a line that could put every club in a ten-mile radius to shame. A case can be made to order essentially everything at Mikki’s. This is why everyone—from couples grabbing a quick bite to impromptu family reunions—can be found here. The cafeteria-style soul food restaurant has the classics—fried chicken, smothered pork chops, oxtail—along with daily specials. Spend the time waiting in line to decide whether you want your fried chicken with syrupy candied yams, collard greens, cabbage, or all three. And if you find the time on a Sunday, get a fried fish dinner and add a little hot sauce on top. Whatever day of the week you make it to Mikki’s, come as early as you can because they will almost certainly sell out." - gianni greene

I just made it home to Atascocita with my plate of chicken & shrimp alfredo with exactly ONE cube of chicken and ZERO shrimp. They really just charged me $30 for me to have to go back in the kitchen and cook because there is more meat in the greens than the pasta. This is likely my last visit. We make it a point to patron black business but this is truly unacceptable given the price. Mikki’s had a good run but the quality has definitely drifted. Update to respond to the owner: Exactly how were you going to remedy that and I live in Atascocita? I wasn’t going to travel all the way back there for it and my cheat day is something I can’t get back. You could simply accept accountability for this poor product and not attempt to deter me from sharing MY experience at your restaurant. This happened and I was displeased and furthermore disappointed by your comment as the owner.

Google
The food is delicious we tried a little bit of everything fried chicken, pasta, smothered pork chops,7 sides we wanted to try everything and the pecan pie was on point 💯 let me say the food is amazing and the portions were very generous. DEFINITELY GOING BACK!! only issue I had is the staff was rude not very nice at all when we walked in no one welcomes you in nothing I had asked a lady in a black chef jacket what was recommend to order since it was our 1st time and we had traveled all the way from Austin to come here and try the food she ignored me and keep being mad about fried chicken that wasn't ready also the young lady that served the sides and corn beard was rude she just looked at us like why were we there and served us like it was a problem but the manager did pass by and ask how was the food finally someone nice enough with good customer service skills over all the food is worth going back

Google
Wake up 9:00 picked a better restaurant for a first-time trip. My Marine is a sucker for good homemade oxtails and they saved me from having to do all the work! The staff were extremely helpful professional and very sweet ... This is a fabulous restaurant along with all of the required pieces: food, personnel, cleanliness!!!

Google
Tried Mikki's for the first time today. Placed a delivery order. What I ordered vs what I got. Disappointed is an understatement. _______________________ Response to Owner: And the driver said it was your fault. So now what? I didnt even order from Uber Eats. Either way I didnt get what I ordered so that looks bad on you. And I dont appreciate this response. The driver even said the service in there was poor. Based on this response I believe them and I will never order from you again. First and last time.

Google
Price is up there but the portions are hefty servers are friendly everytime i come i know im going to leave satisfied as you can see the turkey legs are huge and it was no problem separating the meat from the bones to eat without eating around the bones

Whenever I'm in TX, I always will make my way overtoo get their awesome soul food. Great atmosphere and vibe.

Google
Wide selection of soulfood that is seasoned to perfection. Once the servers became organized, the line moved with cohesion. Prices range for $20/35.

Google
Stepping into Mikki's Soulfood Cafe was an absolute delight, and my recent visit truly exceeded expectations! From the moment I walked in, the welcoming atmosphere and the sheer variety of delicious options on display were impressive. The restaurant was impeccably clean, making for a very comfortable dining experience. I had heard whispers about their legendary oxtails, and they did not disappoint – truly some of the most magical I’ve ever tasted, tender and bursting with flavor. The candied yams were perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness and a delightful hint of crispy burnt sugar. Paired with the creamy, rich mac n cheese and the incredible cornbread, every bite was a taste of pure comfort food heaven. Even the collard greens had a wonderfully robust flavor that complemented the meal perfectly. The portions were incredibly generous, easily enough to share or enjoy for another meal, which is fantastic value. What truly set this visit apart was the exceptional customer service; a special shoutout to the young gentleman at the register who was incredibly friendly and efficient, making the entire ordering process a breeze. Mikki's Soulfood Cafe offers top-tier food and service that makes you want to come back for more. I’m already planning my next visit to dive into more of their fantastic offerings!

Yelp
The food is very good. It's like home cooking. The prices are great for the amount of food you get. And the people are very nice and thankful.

Yelp
I love the remodeling that has taken place here! I have always done a takeout, but now, it is quite inviting if you choose to eat-in. The eating space is larger with more tables & chairs and they have added a bar where they sell frozen cocktails (think daiquiris). I continue to enjoy the food with each visit. Baked chicken is my go-to dish with cabbage, candied yams, & black eye peas. All 3 of those sides items & the chicken are winners. I typically would choose greens before green beans but here I give green beans an edge. Service is expedited to the degree that it can be. Choose your meat, move down the line to get your side items, cornbread & then desserts are at the cash register. Portions are a decent size. In general, dinners are $17-$22 (2 side items) or $21-$26 (3 side items) except oxtails which are $30 & $34. They remain a go-to for local soul food.

Yelp
Mikki, knock it off!!! Good soul food? No ma'am! Fresh baked goods? Negative! Being a staple in Houston, you need to be consistent or improve. I forgot I already came here and was less than thrilled. I ordered the yams and macaroni and cheese. My slight addiction to candied yams low key needs to be studied. It goes above and beyond Thanksgiving or Sunday dinner. It could be a random Tuesday and I get an unnatural hankering for some warm vanilla yams. The containers the yams and macaroni came in were small- like my waistline. I started to think maybe I accidentally ordered off the children's menu. Sigh. It is what it is. Thank you for saving me the calories but cost of product in relation to amount of product received is disrespectful. Now, the yams were amazing. Ah May Zing! Tender, vanilla, butter, thick juice and delicious. That's the way you candy a yam Folks! Good job Mikki on that one thing. Just that one thing. The macaroni and cheese lacked everything. Seasoning, flavor, and texture. Try to serve macaroni that is a good al dente with at least salt and pepper and make it in batches so it doesn't sit long. Also, the grease oozing out. Yikes. I also ordered a half strawberry, half lemon cake but they just gave me a strawberry cake. Is it homemade? That's debatable. Does it taste gross...........yes, and that's not up for debate. Didn't taste strawberry in that bite. Swish straight into the trash can.

Yelp
We came here over 9 years ago leaving San Antonio heading back to New Orleans. When we stopped by, there were older people working here who were truly friendly and hospitable. They made us feel so welcomed that we bought more food for the road. Sadly, we didn't get that same reception today. The food then was exceptional; however, I can't say that it was anywhere near that quality today on 12/27/25. Not only was the quality was off, the price increased exponentially. I got the chicken and shrimp Alfredo, which notably had no shrimp. The pasta was overcooked as was the chicken chunks of breast in it. My sides were green beans and mac n cheese and they were decent. Overall, the taste is okay but what shocked me was the cost of a quart of mac n cheese at $20. That was a definite turnoff. You really don't make huge long term profits when you overcharge and out price your consumer base. My husband had the meatloaf, greens and sweet potatoes....he loved it but then again, he loves food period lol. I do like the new decor, it's super reminiscent of NOLA's Mardi Gras colors. Anyway, we more than likely won't return. We paid $50 for two plates and I'm left underwhelmed.

Yelp

Yelp
It has been a very long time since my last visit to Mikki's so I was surprised at the changes I saw. First of all while the exterior is the same the interior is much nicer. Nice job! It has an upscale look and was nicely decorated including Christmas decor and playing enjoyable music. Also the long serving line was immaculate in appearance. I purchased the smothered chicken with two sides of rice and gravy and black eye peas for $18. It also came with a cornbread roll. Drinks here are bottled and then they have kool aid and sweet tea too. They also have what looked like a full bar for alcoholic beverages. My meal was very good tasting. The chicken, gravy, rice and peas were delicious and plenty in size. It was a very good meal. However, they serve all meals in to go containers which doesn't fit the upscale interior. It feels weird to take your food from a bag and then open up a plastic container to eat it. Also the cutlery that you are given (fork and knife) was very flimsy. It was hard to cut up the tender chicken with that knife. The fork looked like it was going to break when a load of peas was on it. Seriously the cutlery felt like something that would come in a cooking kit for a third grader. Please Mikki's get some better cutlery or tell your customers to bring their own! Finally, there were many, many small bones in the chicken and gravy. The chicken is on the bone so I don't know where they came from. They were small chicken bones and they had to be removed from the mouth, of course, which is never pleasant especially when dining with others. I will still give a 4 here believing that the bones was a one off but please spend more on the plastic cutlery!

Yelp
On the second we walked in the door we felt like family. This was our first trip in and it will definitely not be our last! Servings were huge, people were very nice, the food was delicious. My husband ate oxtail until his eyes crossed. I could not pick between the Black eyed peas and the green beans and I still can't because they were both delicious! There was no need to add salt or seasoning or anything because the flavors were spot on. Such an inviting and fabulous professional group of employees I can tell you that we were very impressed! Happy anniversary to us and #soulfood makes our heart overflow :) Happy #anniversary to us!

Yelp
Mikis is the place! Hands down they have the best soul food in Houston! So good in fact we went twice out of the three days we were in the area! Everything is good! The smothered turkey wings, the meatloaf, green beans, greens, mac n cheese, sweet potato's, and etc!!! My friend even got to try their chitterlings and said they were good. I'll be back when in Houston!

Yelp
Where is the no stars? I will honestly say the food is delicious but the service is HORRIBLE! My Google review was deleted by the way. I work for an international law firm and referred this restaurant because I loved the food. The hositality representative scheduled a meeting with owner and she was not there as agreed. She called several times and no one answered prior to her arrival and when she arrived, it was an empty restaurant. She walked up to counter and a lady was very rude to her and the rep explained she had never been before. She was embarrassed in front of other customers and a young man by the name of Josh offered to help her with no knowledge of what to do. I spoke with the Jeanelle the owner of that location the next day, she apologized and stated she would make sure that everything would flow smoothly. I explained the firm has never had a black owned business cater at the firm. They were booked and paid and ARRIVED late! The day comes and Mikki's was LATE! They called and called and the people arrived late. How EMBARRASSING! So, I called the Pearland location and spoke with Tasha who claimed she was the owner of the Pearland location. She perfusley apologized for the mishap and literally offered to DONATE A lunch to 200 people with servers on the next order via email. She said they don't operate that way at that location. When the time comes, the request was not for free food but at a discount. The representative responded to the email Tasha sent initially apologizing and ordered food for just 20 people not the 200. Tasha's employee confirmed the email was received but Tasha said she got no email. Again, the representative for the firm called and called but no answer (this was a call to the restaurant because someone was on the way to pick up the food up). When th rep got to Mikki's to pick up the food. NOTHING WAS PREPARED! NOTHING! They asked them to prepare it but someone at the restaurant said they could not because they would not have enough for for thw actual restaurant. REALLY! If they prepared for 20 people, they would have no food for the restaurant??? Are you kidding me? Thise people are HORRIBLE! They do not handle business well at all. They lack answering the phone and the service is HORRIBLE! I will never eat there again!

Yelp
I'm grateful for the experience but likely won't return. Though the food was cooked properly, I didn't enjoy the flavor of the food. The Mac and cheese was cheesy but not well seasoned. The oxtail was tough. The fried fish was soooo bland. The cornbread was inedible and bland too. The lemon cake taste like box cake. The sweet potatoe were super sweet and not spiced. Overall i can't be mad at them. The portions were great. This food just isn't for my tastebuds.
google avatar

Earnestine H.

Yelp
When they say a bar bite, it's a bar bite. I ordered the soul bowl and it was a waste . Just order a senior plate or something because you don't even get a scoop of food. You get not even a half of a spoon of mac&cheese, sweet potato, greens and beef tips on top of cornbread for $11.00. The young lady said that her manager instructed her to fix it that way. So yes you have been warned about the size. It's in a very small container and please inside of another container for some odd reason. It's a waist of containers to me.
google avatar

Lee A. S.

Yelp
Make sure to bring your appetite to this place. They are not stingy with the food. The people are really nice as you walk through the line to order. It's spacious inside, so seating was no issue. Food was hot, fresh, and tasted great. It reminded me of my grandmother's soulful cooking. I had the meatloaf, sweet yams, and collard greens. Oh, and I had to wash it down with some kool-aid.

Yelp
We had just got back from a mini vacation and was looking for a soul food restaurant that was open since it was Memorial Day. Came across this place as a recommendation so we decided to stop. Upon arrival we got in line (food is served buffett style) We decided on the oxtails mac and cheese, baked beans, Brisket, mac and cheese, and yams and 2 big Reds. Everything was very welll proportioned and seasoned well. We were checking out and realized the prices on the board didn't align with what we were charged ex: Oxtails board states 29.95 we were charged 32.95 there was no price on the beef brisket however they rang up as beef tips 23.95. The bathroom didnt have any paper towels and the hand dryer didn't work. Other than that it was a pretty good experience. And we will return.

Yelp
I've been coming to Mikkis since I was a teenager. This place has stood the test of time and that alone should tell you it's good. The prices have gone up a bit but it's worth every penny. The servings are huge. When you get the plate, it has some weight to it (if you know, you know). I don't believe I've ever had an item here I did not like. If you're looking for true down home soul food kitchen eats, Mikkis is a must.

Brittany W.

Yelp
Mikki's was not that good to me, i wanted to love it but it fell short! It just wasn't tasty. I had oxtails, greens and Mac and cheese. The greens were good, the Mac and cheese and oxtails were below average at best. Cafeteria style for fast service, nice restaurant area for eating. Good just didn't hit.

Marvin B.

Yelp
Ordered from doordash but the problem was the food the beef tips were little hard pieces of meat, I ordered collard greens but they sent mustard, the green beans looked like they were just reheated instead cornbread they sent a muffin, and no rice From the picture you can see I ended up throwing it away , I guess they are going to focus on the new location
google avatar

Yelp
We always return to Mikki's when I need my southern soul food fix. Delicious, consistent, and large portions! Friendly staff, free parking in lot (watch out for the big potholes ), bring your wallet- it's pricy but worth it. Atmosphere is family friendly with late owner honored in photos. Many celebrity pictures who have also enjoyed Mikki's

Yelp
On New Year's Day I visited Mickey soul food in Pearland. So I happen to be in the Southwest today and I figured let me try Mickey's on the southwest side the OG location that I was used to. Food: I went with my kind of favorite Sol food dish, which is smothered chicken. It was simply amazing. The pieces of chicken were really big as well. They do not skimp your hair. You could probably feed two people maybe even three with the portion size here. Unless you're very hungry, I think it'll be pretty hard to finish this mill. Back to the food, this mother chicken was top-notch. Also, the mac & cheese was simply amazing. The broccoli, rice casserole was some of the best you will ever have. The white rice and gravy was really good as well. I will notice though the cornbread didn't taste too sweet and good is the one from Pearland. It was really good don't get me wrong, but the one in Pearland was exceptional for the cornbread. I'll definitely keep coming to this location and the one in Pearland.five star all the way. This is probably the best soul food in Houston Texas.

Drea G.

Yelp
We were in town from Los Angeles and Mikki's was a suggestion from my Sister. I ordered the oxtails, Mac n cheese and candied yams. I really enjoyed each item but was really pleased with the Mac n cheese, it was creamy the way I make mine. The corn bread and koolaid were also a crowd favorite. We will definitely keep Mikki's on our list for our next visit to Houston.

Yelp
First timer. The servers at the steam table were nice and helpful. Typical soul food. I'm a sucker for peach cobbler. I had to get two

Yelp
Ohh my my my. I ordered from the Cypress area and it was well worth the wait. I ordered Chitterlings , Yams and Greens and each one was packed full of flavor. I will definitely be ordering again.

Jala L.

Yelp
I came back to update my review as I just recently got Mikki's again. I'm giving it a 3 star now because the price increase is crazy. For reference, just 2 years ago, I would get the roasted chicken (which they now do not sell anymore) or fried chicken. The fried chicken plate was $15.95 and now it's $21.95! A $6 increase is crazy to me. Their daiquiris are also now almost double what they used to be. I understand they made all those renovations but with how popular the restaurant is, I'm very sure they could've recouped those expenses some other way. I used to love going to Mikki's because it was great food for a great price. The price now isn't terrible, but it's hard for me to pay that knowing I was paying a whole $6 less for the food not too long ago. The same meal and daiquiri I always get costs me over $12 extra dollars now. Although the taste of the food is definitely not as good as it used to be, it's still pretty good. The environment is still great as well! I used to beg to come to Mikki's but now I can only see myself getting this maybe once or twice a year now if that.

Reggino H.

Yelp
What are the best soul food places in Houston Texas recently price and they give you a lot of food opening up a new location in the third war area if you have a closest one of these places, you should try them out
google avatar

Tony A.

Yelp
Me and my family really enjoyed this place. Tons of variety to choose from, and everything was made with love, just like GMA did it. We came around 7pm on a Thursday, and the line moved fast, and the food was still fresh.
google avatar

Crystal John K.

Yelp
They give you lots of food. They better with the prices you paying. There's always a line. The OG of southern comfort food.
google avatar

Ayesha N.

Yelp
2 locations -Tilapia and shrimp Alfredo was so delicious along with the sides and grape koolaid! macaroni still bomb! Everything is so delicious, I wasn't a fan of the smothered chicken it was okay! but they don't miss on everything else!
google avatar

Frances S.

Yelp
The service staff were friedmndly and courteous. The line moved too slowly, and by the time we made it to the sides, there wasn't enough available to choose from on a Saturday evening about 6:30 pm. The quality of the food has diminished. The quantity was very satisfactory, but why have alot if it isn't very tasty, just alright. Just before leaving, I paid $6 for 4 cookies, teaches i guess. I'm very sorry to say, they were not good.
google avatar

Lance S.

Yelp
DoorDash driver, took 40 minutes of waiting to get food. Don't order to go, at least; it's due to their lack of staff and influx of customers so they aren't able to accommodate take online out orders in a reasonable manner.
google avatar

ChillyHarrell J.

Yelp
My wife found this soul food spot that she wanted to try. Looked online and they had specials that say $9.95 between 11pm-2pm and we went around that time. The price is no longer $9.95 and apparently the special is all day now so it's $14.95 - Service is fast and easy and it's a cool ambiance inside. Food is good too ! We both got Monday specials- smothered fried chicken with 2 sides and cornbread. I got jalapeño cornbread my wife got regular. Also got cherry kool aid - only reason it's 4 and not 5 stars is cuz they gotta update that website price lol
google avatar

Anthony T.

Yelp
The food is legit very good. Everything tastes like a great home cooked meal. The only issue is its price is so expensive. You're almost guaranteed to spend $40 minimum per person.
google avatar

Jhoslyn H.

Yelp
Good home cooking. The most amazing strawberry cake with fresh strawberries on top and in the homemade icing!

Ebony T.

Yelp
What a disappointment! I stopped at the Mikki's on West Bellfort/59 hoping to get a tasty meal! Instead, I got food that was way too salty and made me sick! I will NEVER return to this location! They used way too much salt in the food! Mikki's isn't as good as it used to be! It wasn't worth the price!
google avatar

Kayla L.

Yelp
This place is PERFECTION! We randomly stumbled upon it and what a blessing. Not only do you get huge heaping portions, but the food is simply amazing. We wanted to try alllll the sides but went with 5 between the two of us. Mac and cheese, collared greens, cabbage, Cajun corn, and candied yams. All so delicious it's hard to pick a favorite! But I think the candied yams stole my heart. I had the peppered hamburger steak. It comes with mashed potatoes and a gravy. Again, soooo delicious! Thick and creamy potatoes and gravy loaded with green peppers. This place is a MUST.

Yelp
Food service an ambiance are great! Love it all! The new work done on your place is excellent Thank you Brenda Chavers

Yelp
Went on a Saturday for a late lunch. This is TRUE SOUL FOOD!!!!!!!!! Now I struggled to give 5 stars and here is my reasons. First the prices are high. There weren't many people inside. It looked pretty clean. There was a guy playing music. I would not call him a DJ. You are served cafe style. Something's are already paired. Like I got the oxtails and one of the sides is rice, and I got collard greens. You do get big portions. There are a lot of things to choose from. This is not a fancy place but the food was very close to down home. Now it was a little salty for my taste. However I will go back and try them again.
google avatar

Gloria B.

Yelp
I stopped by for lunch on 3/17/25 at 12:20 pm. The entrance door was not clean and full of fingerprints. I ordered the Oxtail Plate to go. There were no prices posted anywhere. I got oxtails, rice, brown gravy, greens, sweet potatoes, cornbread and sweet potato pie. I was underwhelmed with the food. The pie and cornbread were not fresh. The food is overpriced. Not sure if I'll go back.
google avatar

Theo B.

Yelp
Ordered from uber eats and didn't receive half my order. Not only did uber eats refuse to review my issue to rectify it, I didn't even have the opportunity to speak to Mikkis about it because no one answers the phone. I left a voice message with details about the situation and my phone number, I received no call back. $60 gone down the drain. Very unprofessional.

carlos s.

Yelp
We ordered from Mikkis today and were VERY disappointed with the chitterlings. They were dry, tasted old and had a slight odor (other than normal chitterling smell). I am not sure if these were old chitterlings from older batches but they were GROSS. $30+ dollars wasted on my meal alone and it is sad. DO NOT order the chittleings here. The rest of the food was ok.
google avatar

Dedric S.

Yelp
I order ox tails and upon check out the cashier and prep lady handling the plates gave me the wrong plate, which they were already confused about another order. Use to give us our plate once completely. Another person when dealing with a complete order used to sit the plate away from completed orders. Need sometime of accountability or practice on correct order for correct customer. New servers I had and the experience with the exception of the Guy who made my plate with ox tails and Guy on sides after that, confusion between handling and delivering accurate plate to cashier. Hopefully they read this and adjust and pay attention so next time I have the right plate and won't be surprised when I get to work

Yelp
Walked in to a nice surprise. Food smells just smack you all in the face. So if you wasn't hungry you will be! Cafeteria type setup where you can see the food before you buy it. You can even taste a lil dabble if you're a skeptic. Turkey wings weren't dry and very tender tasteful. Yams felt like mommas and Big Momma's cabbage and greens. Dem oxtails are the truth and the portions are enough for 2 people to eat out of one plate. Food is presented to go but you can sit down and unpack it and get your grub on. All tables very clean. They gave us kool-aid fresh from the back. Now you know it was good.. a little too sweet for me. The staff was All very friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
Got the smothered pork chops with Mac and cheese, collard greens, and cornbread. It was great and it's a lot of food. It came with two pork chops and 2 massive sides. Easily enough for two or maybe three meals. You must get the collard greens. Just right with a little bit of spice!

Yelp
I love love love their cabbage. It is so good! Today I got their smothered pork chops and they were a little dry, however I would definitely go back to try a different meat. I love how they put everything in to go boxes so you don't have to worry about it later.

Yelp
****update**** I just want to say I have the best fb friends ever. Yall was ready to go to war over this post lol. Thanks to everyone that reached out to Craig to let him know of my experience. He did contact me directly with an apology and wanting to make things right as possible. We did use them for our April celebration and this time I worked with Betty from the Pearland location. She was professional and quick. This time the food showed up and it was on time. The food was really good and we were able to celebrate our associates the right way this time. I can't express how important good service is in the food industry. Glad this was able to be turned around.

Yelp
I am very disappointed with this restaurant and their Thanksgiving meal preordered logistics. It was very disorganized and disappointing. They had one line for customers that preordered Thanksgiving meal and wanted a to-go meal. It's really surprising that they have been in busy for quite some time and their plan wasn't well executed. I waited in line outside for 2 hours and then I waited another 1 hour inside for my preordered meal. The orders were not prepared although all customers prepaid. They staff bagged and boxed the items as the customers were waiting. They ran out of boxes and placed all items in bags. When I arrived at home and retrieving the bags out of the car. They tore and the containers spilled in my car. It's such a sad situation. I will never order anything again from this restaurant.

Yelp
I was desperately looking for some soul food! A lot of places wasn't open due to the new year, their bad because what I found at Mikki's will be a long lasting Houston relationship! Every outlet I used to look up Mikki's had great reviews! I can see why, the food didn't disappoint I tried the oxtails, chitterlings (I just tried a few bites) meat loaf and catfish lol don't judge me. I'm a food junkie! Every meal included a choice of starch mashed potatoes or white rice. 3 sides, I tried the Mac n cheese, green beans, black eyed peas, yams, corn, and greens. As you can see it's served buffet style, the line moves fairly quick! They have two separate serving rooms. Very smart of them, we dined in. The entire time the flow of traffic was insane, non stop traffic.. The customer service was great Derek was very personable. He checked on us often, asking how everything taste! With so many pictures of famous people I had a moment. I asked if Paul wall was pitbull lol Derek and the security guard said WHAT no that's PAUL WALL!!! Lol my bad I know now to put some respect on Texas native rappers lol I know right, who mistakes Paul wall for pitbull it had to be all my New Year's Eve partying.. all in all the food and customer service is very worthy of five stars. let me not forget to mention the kool aid was delicious! I tried cherry and tropical punch. I also tried a mango and strawberry daiquiri! I loved it as well

Yelp
I'm visiting the area for business and wanted some good soul food before returning home. After attempting to go to two different restaurants, who were both closed, my Lyft driver took me here. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, and clean, but very cold. After waiting in line for several minutes, I was so cold I almost had to leave. But once I braved the cold and received my food, I was very pleased. The food was delicious and the portions were huge! I had enough for 3 servings. There's lots of variety to choose from and they kept bringing food out to make sure it was fresh.
