"Seeking a plate of oxtails and a good cocktail? Mikki’s Soul Food in Pearland is the place to visit. This family owned-restaurant has been serving the Houston community since 2000, and is a neighborhood hub for comforting food. Some of Mikki’s daily specials include smoked pork ham hocks, stuffed bell peppers, and desserts like peach cobbler and banana pudding." - Alexandria Jack, Kayla Stewart

Google
When looking for "Soul Food" in the suburbs, this is the place to go. There are times when I just want the vegetable plate because they are very consistent with flavor. The green beans are always very good. The only meat product I eat from here is either the baked chicken or the smothered chicken. It never disappoints. There is plenty of seating and parking. They are also on doordash.

Since I had already sampled their other location, I had to give this one a go when I came across it. I tried the beef plated instead of the Oxtail this time, but it was just as bangin’ as the other. The team at this location really make you feel at home as soon as you step foot inside. Every was too kind and they really want you to enjoy your meal. The sides were amazing and truly hit the soul with each bite. This is the definition of soul food!

Here's a review you could use for Mikki's Soul Food Cafe: "Even though I got my order to-go, Mickey's Soul Food Cafe never ceases to amaze me! Everything I had – the turkey wing, cabbage, string beans, and yams – was so incredibly seasoned and well put together. My taste buds are still running around like crazy, absolutely loving this food. Can't wait to order again!"

Google
FIRST TIME HERE!!!! Amazing service and great experience. The portions are big so you will have leftovers. The yellow cake was so moist. Delicious. Loved the catfish with homemade tarter. The ladies were amazing and I loved the customer service.

Google
Food was amazing! Classic soul food so good. The Kool-aid took me back to childhood in Mississippi 😊. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area. For dirsy-timers like myself, you might want to look up the menu cause going through the line and not knowing what you want could cause a bottleneck. My only isdie was not understanding this. Location not large so many people got to-go items. We didnt gave any issue finding seating though!

Very disappointed with our recent experience at Mikki’s Cafe in Pearland. My husband found a large piece of plastic in his food—completely unacceptable and extremely unsanitary. We spent nearly $30, and he couldn’t even eat his meal because of the issue. We tried calling multiple times to report it and get some sort of resolution, but no one ever responded. The lack of accountability is frustrating. We used to enjoy coming here, but the quality has clearly gone downhill. We won’t be back. I hope this message encourages immediate attention to food safety and quality control practices at this establishment

12/22/24 First of all, I live in Austin, TX and anytime I come to town I visit Mikki's either coming or leaving. This time I visited the one in Pearland and per usual the customer service is/was top tier, everything looked and smelled amazing 😍. I ordered smothered pork chops, greens, cabbage and yams. I was ready to slam. But the only thing I could eat was the cabbage and the greens which were really good, way too many stems in the greens for my liking, but the flavor was chef kiss 😘. Now the downside, the pork chops were so salty I couldn't even eat it (I tried) and the yams were so sugary, they were uneatable, I was so disappointed ☹️. I couldn't take it back because I was on my way back home. I know they would've made it right. I've never had a bad meal from them this is the first one.

“The Mikki Bowl is absolutely not worth the money. They’ve drastically reduced the portion size to the point that even a child wouldn’t find it satisfying. I feel completely cheated compared to the generous servings they used to offer. At nearly $12, you get barely a quarter of a dinner plate’s worth of food. Definitely not worth it!”

Yelp
My family caught the Restaurant Week Special. All of the food was wonderful, the restaurant was very nicely decorated, the staff was pleasant, we loved everything about MIKKI's Soulfood Cafe. RECOMMEDATION: I highly recommend this bar and grill if you are ever in Pearland, TX.

R C.

Yelp
Mikki's has the best food!! We have used them 3 times now for catering and each time the food is so good and the compliments are plentiful!! The catfish is crispy and flavorful and don't get me started on their broccoli rice casserole!! I took my family to the cafe on Sunday since I have been raving about the food and they loved it!! The cafe is clean, the service is friendly and honestly it just feels like you're at someone's home getting their mamas cooking! I highly recommend Mikki's for catering and their cafe.

Yelp
We stopped in here for lunch on 2/20/24 during some restaurant week (RW) and ordered our food to go. But, whether you eat in or order to go, you go through something similar to a cafeteria line to select the items that you want (pics attached) I selected the tilapia with two sides (cabbage and green beans/ served with corn bread- pictures attached). It was okay. I selected it cuz it was on the RW menu, but I wouldn't order it if I come again. My husband ordered the fried chicken (pic attached). I tasted it and it was pretty good. The inside is more spacious than I expected (pics attached). They also have a small bar behind the main seating and they have daiquiri machines. Could be a cool hang on a Friday evening during happy hour to get a daiquiri and a quick bite.

Yelp
Anyone rating this less than 5 stars simply doesn't understand real good soul food. This is 5 star all day long. Ignore the low ratings. This place is top notch. Top notch hoes get the most not the lesser. Food: the smothered poke chops were so dam good! Very tender and simply amazing! The white rice with gravy was top notch as welll. The macaroni and cheese was so good too. Also the cornbread was amazing too! The customer service was great!! Everyone was very friendly. New Year's Day was really cool! Live music. They were packed but the line moved fast. Again this is an easy five star spot. Stop in and do yourself a favor.

Yelp
My husband brought dinner fot us yesterday. I had the Apricot Chicken and he had the Smothered Chicken. The rice that came with our meals were a very BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. The rice was HARD and OVER COOKED. He was very upset and complained about it. One of my chicken breast was very hard and dry . Please do BETTER!

Andrea B.

Yelp
This was a wasted trip across town to try this restaurant. Staff not friendly. Food was bland.

Chell L.

Yelp
Great soul food and causal atmosphere. Lots of choices. Amazing drinks and daiquiris.

Felton C.

Yelp
Not my choice to ever go again Only going to the original spot on Belfort The food just doesn't taste the same, the only good thing is having the drive-thru window. Went twice not changing my mind.

Faye S.

Yelp
I recently got a takeout order from Mikki's. The food quality has dropped significantly. The oxtails had so much fat and huge bones with little meat on it. In my opinion, a dog would have turned away from eating it. They were tough and appeared to have been boiled with brown gravy poured over them. The collard greens had so many stems in them rather than the green leaves. It appears that they are just serving a plate to others and I'm sure that they wouldn't eaten. I attempted to call the manager and have not heard from them. I even went to the website and enter my comments with the expectation that someone would contact me and that has not happened yet. This place is not a place that I would recommend to anyone. People beware of this place and the food quality. IT'S NOT WORTH THE MONEY. A 1 star isn't even adequate. I would have t lest like to have spoken to the manager prior to making this comment but since it seems as if they don't care about customers experience, I had to post and help others see what you may be up against when trying to support this business.

Yelp
Went back for a 2nd round. Ordered baked chicken, greens, black-eyed peas, corn bread, Kool-Aid, and a piece of chocolate cake. Kinda a disappointment on the sides; it was definitely a miss on the seasoning and tenderness. The cake was dry and the frosting tasted like store bought. Again the cornbread and koolaid was the best of everything. The service was A one! I was hoping they would've redeemed themselves with the food.

Mahwish S.

Yelp
Came in just for their greens this time. As you can see, I do love them and bought a whole tub. I do think they charge a little too much though. It was $20 for this size. It contained about 6-7 servings. It was nice that the man threw in a couple pieces of cornbread.

Eric S.

Yelp
Excellent food as always, had the oxtails and beef tips which was really good.after second visit to this location. The environment was nice and peaceful and the interior of the restaurant was very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On my last visit the sweet potato pie was off the chain however on this go round the pie was over cooked in my opinion and not ad sweet from the last visit. Hoping to return with better ratings going for the dessert. Be prepared for sticker shock because although the food is delicious, it's extremely pricey.

Leah C.

Yelp
Flavor of food doesn't disappoint. Something other than gelatinous "brown gravy" on everything would be nice. The service was pretty good where everyone was polite and patient as you order. The spaghetti and baked chicken is pretty tasty, definitely worth a try. Ambience doesn't disappoint, rnb classics playing, clean open space to dine ample seating.

Diana A.

Yelp
Great food! also ordered fried chicken with mac & cheese and green beans with bacon. Service is also very good. And drinks are fantastic. Can't wait till to hear they may start having live music. Very cool place

Yelp
Miss Mikki, Miss Mikki. Where to start. This last visit to this location was a MAJOR inconvenience and their "remedy" to the issue was a gross let down. Customer service is dismal. Note to all drive thru customers...untie the bag right at the window. Don't pull off to do it. Check your order right there because they don't. ORIGIN OF THE PROBLEM: ordering through their drive-thru (beware...don't do that). I ordered 2 beef tip orders with 3 sides. Can't go wrong there. Guess again! I stated my order and the cashier repeated it back without issue. Smooth sailing right? Wrong! Paid for my order and it was handed to me tied tightly. I was asked did I want a receipt, and luckily I said yes. Looked at the receipt and it wasn't my exact order verbatim, but it was the price of 2 beef tip plates with 3 sides. I pulled to the side to give a quick overview of what I ordered. Keep in mind I had to untie the knotted bag. I noticed I got greens instead of green beans but I just rolled with it because I was ready to go home. I saw the sides and the gravy from quick glance on the plate underneath, so naturally I felt the order was correct and made my way home (which is roughly 25 minutes away). TIME TO EAT DINNER (psyche): Get home, get comfortable, and was prepared to dig in. Opened the second order, and said, "Where's the meat". I said, "IKYFL". Lo and behold, the damn beef tips said find me. They didn't put any meat with the gravy and rice. The main reason why the meal was $24. At this point I'm hot. I immediately grabbed up the food, and called the establishment to let them know of my issue, and the inconvenience I'm having to experience driving back up there to fix an issue that could've EASILY been avoided if staff checked and QC'd orders before tying so tightly and handing off. On the call, after I pressed the management option, I spoke with "Ciara". I explained to her the issue, and the inconvenience of having to ride back up to there to rectify the issue, and she said she would assist me when I got there. 9 MILE DRIVE BACK TO MIKKIS: I approached the counter, and talked to the person I spoke with over the phone. I reiterated the issue and the drive it took to come back up there. She asked if I had the plates (duh), she opened the orders, and saw that one of the plates did not have beef tips. I confirmed that's the problem. She took a picture and said she was sending it to her operations manager. She told me the only thing that could be done was either her refunding me for my order, or they fix what was missing, but I couldn't be compensated for the error they caused and the drive that I had to make back up there. Keep in mind, that's 4 trips (from there to home, back up there, from there again, back home). Frustrated and hungry, I told her to fix the order. I was given a bowl of beef tips to go with the plates I brought back up there. No offer to re-fix the plates with fresh food, or anything. I was offered a drink, or a dessert to make up for their miss. I asked for 2 peach cobblers since there were 2 orders. I even told her about being given greens instead of green beans. I was then told, "according to my operations manager, I can only give you one dessert because only one order was messed up". At that point, I was beyond over it. She gave me the one peach cobbler, and I added it to my bag and left out...irritated. I get back in my truck and noticed she did not place my 2 cornbreads and silverware back in my bags after she took the picture to send the operations manager. I went back in to get those, and it seemed as if she was annoyed. That solidified moreover that I will never be back. FINALLY GET TO RELAX AND EAT DINNER (HA ): Warmed up my food, and bit into the beef tips, and they tasted scorched...burnt. Additionally, the stems in the greens were mini tree branches Hind sight, I should've just gotten a refund because the hassle and terrible customer service was not worth it. You get better service at Chick-fil-a. Would've gone to The Greasy Spoon if they were open.

Julie W.

Yelp
The restaurant has amazing food. The customer service is excellent. It is a very nice and pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend Mikki's.

Kenneth G.

Yelp
Food and service is great but cut down portion sizes and increased prices makes it not worth going anymore

Diamond S.

Yelp
Mikki can do no wrong! Went here for lunch back in 2015 during my internship and never forgot! I came back a couple weeks ago and was satisfied! The restaurant looked more done up than I remember as far as furniture and even featuring a bar, however nobody was behind it nor any liqour so I assume they only use it on weekends. I was greated nicely and they have an assembly line of food. I got the smothered chicken, rice, green beans, and cabbage. I threw down on that plate and left no crumbs. I also got the oh so sweet koolaid and when I was finished I was ready for a nap. I should've ordered another plate of different food to go so I can try something else later for dinner. 10/10 would recommend! They have a different special throughout the week so definitely check them out!

A H.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to their food today, especially their yams. I pull up to the drive thru, order my food (Baked Chicken, Greens, Mac and Cheese with yams). I get all the way home to realize that I am without my yams. I never have had this issue. Upset, I drive back only to find out that I would have to wait 20 extra minutes. I requested a partial refund for the $6 side but instead I got offered another side, cake, or a drink. Considering the fact that it was a slow day today, this shouldn't have happened. I will eat my food but it just won't taste the same without everything that I wanted.

Mk K.

Yelp
Everything is good! We drove an hour from north Houston to come here and we were not disappointed at all. The food and service was amazing. Highly recommend!!!

Rosalind C.

Yelp
I needed a quick meal for my daughter and I. I wanted to grab something that was at least semi healthy so I decided to stop here. The customer service is great and they have a good selection. I decided to try the smothered chicken Mac and cheese, yams and greens. Overall it was okay, the greens and yams were really good the chicken and Mac and cheese needed seasoning. I always heard mixed reviews when it came to this place and I now understand why.

Angela H.

Yelp
Most of the entries (the meat protein) submerge in gravy. Simply not impressed!!!! With items on the steam table!!! Customer service was great!!! The restaurant appeared to be clean!!!!

Roz Y.

Yelp
Had the oxtails with rice and cabbage. Tried the peach cobbler for dessert. I was raised with the saying "if you cannot say something nice then don't say anything at all."

Kashara B.

Yelp
Oh the best soulfood in Houston! The environment was clean and open. The food was so yummy and hot! The prices are a little high but you can literally eat off of your plate 3 times! You can't beat that! Their customer service is top tier. I will be back for sure!

Khadijah H.

Yelp
The food was very mid. It was literally just okay. The price was a bit much for the quality of food. The customer service was good the staff was friendly you can tell the Sunday rush had just ended and things were slowing down. The restaurant definitely has a really good vibe and a bar with daiquiris. I would definitely try it again just to give it another chance to improve my opinion.

Darlene B.

Yelp
I purchased the special which was the curry chicken. My 2 sides was yams and rice. The location looks very good. There now serving Daiquiris. Unfortunately, I didn't try one but the food is still the same good quality and I highly recommend. It's definitely pricey though. The only thing was i tasted better cornbread but at least it comes with the meal it was soft and not too sweet.I perfer texture and more flavor like honey and butter it was very lite.

Forrest S.

Yelp
Since Mikki's came to Pearland, I have been a regular customer. My meal is black-eyed peas over rice, collards with a turkey wing that has not been in gravy or fried fish. Simply delicious. I generally go through the drive-thru. I am constantly amazed that although I give the same order, the results are different each time. Often, I repeat the oder at the pickup window. My orders black-eyed peas over rice in the large section of the container. Add extra liquid from the peS onto the rice. Collard greens in one of the small sections of the container. A piece of foil over the food before adding the fish or turkey wing. Seems straightforward to me, but it's not. I am going to start taking a picture to show management. The other interesting thing is the price of the order varies depending on whether it is determined the order is two or three sides. Not to mention when I am told I can't have the food I want. Today, I was told it was a vegetable plate and I couldn't have the fish. I laughed out loud before I could catch myself. The I said that I place this I rder all the time. I think she asked someone and then proceeded. I want to leave a tip, and will do so when my order is correct. Only once this year!

Ashley P.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely amazing! I constantly crave the smothered pork chops and the strawberry cake.

Angela H.

Yelp
Service was great. Everyone appeared happy to be working and keeping the customers happy. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. Food in served in a to-go containers. Food is served from buffet style trays. Fried food is brung from the back. Maybe that is because, if people seen the fried food, they would not order it. The Food was at best 1.5 out of 10. I had the fish plate with macaroni and pinto beans. The fish was cold and tasteless. The macaroni tasted like it was made with a generic Velveta. The corn bread was sweet and tasted as if it was made days before. The highlight of this plate was the pinto beans. It was the freshest item that ordered. It was well seasoned and tasted homemade. My husband had fried chicken, collard greens, black eyed peas and cornbread. The fried chicken was definitely old, and lacked seasoning. One bite and in the trash it went. See pictures. The black eyed pease tasted as if they were poured out of the can and onto my husband's plate. The best thing on his plate was the collard greens. They were fresh and seasoned well. His corn bread was fresh, but very sweet. A 16 ounce cup of ice tea was more than 4 dollars and refills were not allowed. We spent $59 dollars and had to stop by What-A-burger, after leaving the restaurant.

Marlene W.

Yelp
It was way too cold!! They ran out of food, our food was for there but they bagged it up. The line moved very slow one person getting you started another guy cleaning, so our sides sat there until the lady got done to put the other food on it. We came from the Woodlands to have a not so good experience. Not the Mikkis that I remember. Sorry this trip I was disappointed.

Michelle Y.

Yelp
NEVER going here again, not only was there terrible customer service in the drive thru, but when I got home i discovered my order was wrong, I called in and the girl on the phone asked me, what is it I wanted her to do about it? I will literally tell as many people as I can about the horrible service and experience.

Chanelle C.

Yelp
A couple of weeks ago we placed a catering order for our daughter's college graduation for 20 people. We were charged almost $500 ($469 to be exact) seemed a bit steep but your price is your price and to have pasta to feed 20 people on such an important busy day, we were willing to pay. Our order was to arrive at 9am and after an hour went by we received a call that they were running late. One hour turned to two and the order showed up at 11am. Upon delivery the driver came to the door with a SINGLE PAN of cold fettuccine. For us to spend that amount of money on a SINGLE PAN of cold fettuccine (which was NOT enough to feed 20 people) is unacceptable. We ultimately had to run out and get more food which meant spending more money. We expressed our displeasure immediately upon late delivery and we called the restaurant about both the delivery time and the portion for what we paid for. We were told to send an email with photos (which we did) and never received anything further. Shame on this business for taking our money, delivering subpar product late that at most fed 10 people and then not bothering to rectify the situation. Such establishments should do better to stand behind their customer service, promptness, efficiency and product and when they drop the ball, they should be considerate and professional enough to make the wrongs right. We are disappointed in the overall-service we received and will not patronize this restaurant again. **I posted this same review on a google and unfortunately instead of management responding with "we messed up" and "let us rectify the situation" (as they said we would), they decided to post that there are discrepancies in my review and they didn't receive correspondence from us. My post was an opportunity. On their google reply they said they "recall this day". If that is the case then the right thing to do would have been to reach back out to us and follow up. There were no discrepancies in what I shared and I opted out of posting pictures, videos and copies of phone calls because again, this was an opportunity for them. As we shared in the email that we did in fact send, we've been supporters of your restaurant for years so this was not personal. We aren't on a bash Mikkis train but we were encouraging you to raise your professional standard and honor the partial refund that we were told we would receive on the phone call we had. We all work too hard for our money for companies to be coming up short and think mediocre food and service are ok. I am posting on yelp now to be able to upload what I couldn't on google. To clear up any "discrepancies" I will now post the following... - The paper that the driver gave us when he arrived. The time they dropped the order is written on it (I scratched out personal info) - A screenshot of the email they said they did not receive - A copy of the payment we made to them $469 (I scratched out personal info) - The photo of the single pan of pasta that was supposed to feed 20 people - Screenshots from my home video showing the late arrival time with a single pan in hand. (I want to add that the driver was nice and apologetic) I have phone records from that day as well that include the drivers calls to us and our calls to the restaurant (showing duration of the conversation) but I won't post them here as I do not want to put the drivers phone number online.

Kate R.

Yelp
Ox tails were okay gravy was cold so that is the only complaint. Mac was the best and so was the koolaid. Service was pretty quick and nice. We went during mid week and so it wasn't too packed which made us getting our food pretty easy and finding seating easy too. All in all would go again to try another dish.

Leila G.

Yelp
Buyer beware! I placed a drive-thru order for a catfish dinner, which is supposed to have two fillets and when I opened the container once a home, one of the fillets was cut in half. So disappointing....

Yourmatch B.

Yelp
good!! nice service! tasty food. delicious. i will be back soon. good!! nice service! tasty food. delicious. i will be back soon.

Mike R.

Yelp
Oh but the food here is excellent! Wife and I stopped here for lunch a couple months ago. Walk up ordering like in a cafeteria, took some time but people in line were very friendly. We each got a main dish and sides, wife splurged and got the braised oxtails (which were heavenly), can't remember what I got but it was also quite good. I got collard greens (excellent) but the real hit was some of the creamiest Mac-n-cheese I've ever had. Their square of corn bread was also quite moist. With drinks and all it got a bit spendy (looking at you, oxtails), but portions all were huge, next time we will split a meal and still walk away full. Highly recommended.

Britnee J.

Yelp
Yelp removed my review for supposed objectionable terms. I'm reposting it without said terms again. Establishment deserves NO stars. I have ordered from here a few times via delivery and the drive - thru, and as others reviews state the food is hit or miss. Sometimes it's not cooked properly and other times stuff is missing. I still continued to support despite this but this past Sunday was the last straw for me. This review is specially in regards to my visit on 7/4/21. I stopped through the drive thru after calling to see if it was open because it wasn't the day prior. I waited over 30+ minutes in the drive thru line just to finally be able to place an order. Then another 10+ at the window to pay and get the food I ordered. This was luckily before a worker came out with cones telling everyone they had to come inside because they were cutting the drive-thru line off. I get my food and go finally after the entire inconvenient and annoying, almost one hour ordeal. I called the store at 2:12pm as soon as I got home and noticed the order was wrong. I ordered a kids meal with meatloaf, rice, and yams. I also ordered PEPPER STEAK with corn and okra with tomatoes. I was given BEEF STEAK. Now I should have checked my order at the window for my own sake, but I shouldn't have to do that seeing as with the long wait time, the employees had more than enough time to double check what they were putting out! The employee that answered the phone Sunday knows exactly what happened because I told her everything and she said to send an email to their email address with pictures and the receipt, and someone would get back to me. This was after I told her I couldn't come back that day because I had a flight to catch, but that this needs to be rectified immediately when I return. I normally would let this slide but not this time. They knew it was a holiday and should have had the proper amount of staff in place to keep up with the crowd. Not to mention should have been thoroughly checking orders as to not further inconvenience customers! It is now days later and I still haven't received a call or email regarding the issue, so that should clearly sum up their customer service. HARD PASS!

Erin S.

Yelp
I paid $25 for a catfish dinner and got swai instead. I wouldn't have side anything if it would have said "fish dinner". False advertising, I would have appreciated honesty.

Jasmine O.

Yelp
We typically have our food ordered through Mikkis for the holidays. We always go to the one in Houston but for Christmas, for one reason or another, we had to order from pearland. Gotta be honest here - this location isn't as good as the original location and we were disappointed with either how flavorless or salty the food we ordered for the holidays was. Especially the stuffing, which has always been our favorite. The Mac n cheese was a little flavorless as well, among other things.

Candice R.

Yelp
My first time ever trying this place, and unfortunately was a bit disappointed. They forgot my meat (fried pork chop), and the gravy for my mashed potatoes. Also the cornbread crumbled before I could even take it out of the plastic wrap, so I didn't even bother opening to try to taste it bcz it would've made a heck of a mess. I wasn't a fan of the greens bcz my serving was full of stalks and very little actual collard leaves. When my friend, who picked up the orders for us, called to make them aware, the lady says "well (so & so) made those plates, but I guess you can come back and get what's missing". So I guess the person who made never makes mistakes. I work too far and get off too late to go back bcz of their mistake. I feel like the customer service in that could've been handled differently to not have put a bad taste about them and actually make me want to give them another try, bcz I do know mistakes happen, but this isn't the way to handle it I gave them 2 stars bcz the macaroni was good, and bcz I like thick mashed potatoes so I know had they not forgotten the gravy they would've been just right. As someone who post reviews on various social media and other online platforms, I really wish my first experience with this place would've warranted a better review....

Yelp
Houston we have a problem! Mikkis Cafe is begin underrated!! And I don't like that....But anywho All my life I have been a picky eater so picky that I decided to become a Chef. Today I tried Mikkis Café and let me tell you 10 out of 10 I had the smothered chicken mashed potatoes, red beans, rice, and broccoli and cheese casserole.. EVERYTHING WAS GOOD! The staff was wonderful. Ambiance was so nice .. Take a bow employees at Mikkis you all are doing a wonderful job! Until next time Houston

Yelp
When I say this was thee best place, I ate at. The restaurant was clean, the servers were polite and the food was so tasteful. I could've at here everyday and not been disappointed.

Yelp
I've been to the Beltline location a few times, and wanted to try this 1. We came in Weds midday after lunch and ordered 2 dinners to dine in Oxtails and smothered porkchops. Everything was hot, fresh, & plentiful. The service was VERY prompt and friendlier here too. The place was clean as well. We enjoyed our meals and will definitely be returning !

Yelp
So I stopped by with two things on my mind - dessert and a boozy beverage. While the hurricane daquiri HIT, the peach cobbler I purchased tasted sour and old... as if it had been sitting all day or for a couple of days. Very disappointed in the food here. Not sure if I'll go back...

Yelp
The restaurant was warm and welcoming as we entered in. Those behind the counter were willing and welcome to service. People were very willing to answer any questions that we had. I had the smothered fried chicken, yams, and Mac and cheese. The mac & cheese was not my favorite, and I think it was closer to a kraft type quality. It's something that most restaurant struggle with due to the size of dishes they're making. Hard to get that homemade feel. However, the smothered chicken was tasty, but what really held up was the yams. They were sweet and just soft enough. Plus, the seasoning was great on them. I also have the Arnold Palmer, which had plenty of sugar in sweet tea, which I like. It's not going to taste like food at home, but still does enough. The environment is really nice as you can see pictures of plenty of famous individuals who have visited. Also, the vibes from the people there are great.

Yelp
Delicious Soul food. Visiting my daughter here in Pearland, she took us to Mikki's raving of the excellent service and food there. We thoroughly enjoyed the clean, inviting and beautifully decorated atmosphere as well as the most Delicious Soul Food Ever !! All 5 of us will definitely return.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that the food is very good and that is the reason for the 3 stars. We went to this establishment for my mothers 67th birthday. I made reservations on Yelp for a party of 7, but was told when I arrived that they don't accept reservations. Mikki's Soulfood Cafe has a cafeteria style setup where you walk through a line and tell the staff what you want. The line did move very slow. When I got to the sides, I ordered some fries for my toddler. A staff member asked if I placed the order of fries when I ordered my entree which I didn't know I was supposed to. I had to wait about 20 minutes for a order of fries and my toddler was not happy. In addition, I had to wait for one staff member to make 7 drinks which might not have been so bad if the line to get drinks was not so long. The staff was friendly. This place would get 5 stars if the lines moved faster and the establishment was bigger. The greens, cornbread, chicken and cool aid was the bomb.com!
