"Like an indoor skydiving chamber and a robot who would turn off the lights for us when we’re already in bed, there are a lot of things we’d buy if we won the lottery. Regular meals (and the airfare required) at Miku would also be on the list. Miku’s sushi mixes traditional Japanese preparation with local ingredients, and prominently features a blowtorch - their Aburi-style focuses on lightly torching the fish to bring out the flavor. This Harbourfront spot is worthwhile for a special occasion, especially if you go all out and order one of the kaiseki options - a multiple course meal of the chef’s favorite dishes." - Katie Diamond

The food was good, the server not so much. She didnt seem to be happy to be there. She never smiled and just came to take my order and deliver my food. Not personable at all. I had ordered a hot tea and asked for sugar, she gave me one pack which simply isnt enough for me but i didnt even feel like calling her back over to ask for more because i felt like she probably would have gotten annoyed and responded negatively which would have triggered me to react negatively in return. The general gos chicken (however you spell it) was good, its probably the best ive had since Covid, and ive tried it from all the top places in worcester. The salad that came w my order was blah, the sushi roll was good, and the spring roll was good. I would order it again but i wouldnt dine in there again due to the poor service.

Fabulous! Went on a quiet night after a long day of work and everything was delicious! Nice blend of Chinese, Japanese, and even Thai favorites. Sushi was very nice, curry soup was warm and delicious, Mongolian beef was fresh and good, and the General Tso’s Chicken was crispy and fresh with a nice sauce - the best I’ve had (tasted fresh - not sitting under a heat lamp like the mall Chinese food).

We took a special trip to go to this place. I love an occasional " lunch box" it's a simple family style restaurant yet very good Japanese foods.

Amanda Curley

Google
It was a great quiet atmosphere! The hostess who was also our waitress just about the whole time was so ontop of things, and so pleasant to deal with. Got worried how quick the apps came out, but boy were there amazing 🙌🏻 want great sushi on a quiet night and/or even quick night? This seems like the place!

We tried this place out last year and we loved it. Seems like a nice husband and wife runs it. Since then we have eaten at least 4 or 5 other times. Food was pretty good each time. Tonight we took family members here for dinner. Not one soul was there and no take outs. OK, maybe it was because it being a week night. We ordered sushi and other meals. The sushi was very good and very reasonably priced. The chicken and shrimp dish came out were very orange, like a lot of food coloring. The taste was bland. The fried calamari was over fried and very chewy. We felt bad taking guests here. Not sure if the quality went downhill since we first ate here. The bathroom wasn't clean and I had to hold my breath using it. Overall, not sure if we will be back. Most likely not. There's other Chinese and Sushi places around.

Google
Absolutely delicious and the best chinese food I have had in MA. I got the pineapple fried rice w/ chicken and General Tsos. The pineapple fried rice was particularly delicous as it had an excellent balance of spices and a subtle curried flavor. The General Tsos here stood out as it was very fresh plump chicken within and the outside was coated in their own Tso sauce. The cook is excellent and the service was excellent. I Never comment on restaurants online as my wife and I love to cook at home, it takes a high threshold to impress us but this was delicious food that warranted an announcement of how good it was. Thank you very much! The haters don't know good food so kindly ignore them.

Google
Great little place for lunch sushi!

Google
Ordered a pupu platter for two. Crab ragoon is not filled. Very dry. Needs more cream inside. No Egg rolls for some reason it don't come with it. . Spring rolls are very small and dry. Chicken wings are small as well. Taste ok. Biggest disappointment was the beef teriyaki. Very dry as well and on the small side. Barely any meat hanging to the stick. Won't go there again. Just skimping too much on everything. The pineapple fried rice was the best out of everything

Yelp
I came here for lunch and enjoyed the sushi combo lunch special. Extremely reasonably priced, with good quality food.

Yelp
I live in West Boylston and tried Miku today for lunch takeout today. I'm not sure why I haven't stopped there before. Probably an unshakable routine. Anyways, I thought the takeout for lunch was reasonably priced and delicious. If I had the time, I would have enjoyed a dine-in lunch as the atmosphere at lunch time was comfortable and relaxed. Service was prompt. I'll definitely be visiting the regularly now.

Ronen H.

Yelp
I really liked this place! What an awesome menu!!!! So many delicious things to choose from. Everything seemed fresh and done just right! The prices seemed great too! The service was very welcoming and friendly and courteous. A relaxing atmosphere as well if a little on the simple-side compared to the food. I loved how they made a point of noting that their very budget-friendly hot and sour soup was vegetarian! I would love to go back if I lived at all nearby!

Yelp
After a cold rainy morning of volunteering, I decided to finally try Miku before my workout. I ordered two rolls that pretty much balanced my day. The Godzilla roll warmed me up, but wasn't as powerful flavor wise compared to my favorite joint. The Salmon Family roll was very refreshing and good for the body. The inside's a pretty decent size, very clean and well lit. For dessert, I got the Fried Green Tea Ice Cream, but I don't think it was fried enough. They also cut it already opened. I love sushi and it's good enough here that if I'm ever in the area for training before or after, I'd definitely swing by again!

A B.

Yelp
I swear, I don't normally feel compelled to write crappy reviews. But this was just beyond. This is the piece of salmon they served my daughter. It's literally inedible. Cooked into oblivion. I ordered sushi which was also barely edible. It's on me for not sending it all back. I guess I was feeling shy and compliant. The kicker was that when it was time to pay, each menu item price was inflated by a dollar or two. I pointed it out to the server who told me that the menu she gave me was old, and the prices had been updated, and that there was nothing she could do because the checks came from the computer. I told her it would be helpful to tell people that when she gives them the wrong menu, and she told me she forgot to tell me. I felt it was only fair to warn other people.

V N.

Yelp
The Miso Soup was a bit bland and water down. Everything on the Menu is affordable compare to other sushi places. Sushi was good, and simple but it doesn't offer anything special that other sushi restaurants don't already have.

David K.

Yelp
I don't expect to find much in Boylston. It's mostly a pizza town But this place is surprising. Logo, signage and menu are attractive, and the space inside is a small but inviting. Friendly, hostess, excellent weight staff, and, although I did not see a sushi person, when I first came in, very quickly, my food was on the table, and fresh, beautiful and so delicious! So glad I opted for what I ordered: Green tea, actually wonderful Tofu and vegetable soup, amazing. Green salad with orange-carrot dressing, most places, no longer serve this salad, I missed it and it's fabulous Yellowtail, scallion, roll was lovely, and Idaho roll also tremendous. Could not ask for a better meal. When the check came it was under $18 for all that. Insane! I paid $30 and told her to keep up the good work. Wow, this place is worth the trip Better than most I've had in Newton, where I live, at two thirds the price!

Brooke C.

Yelp
Like most restaurants, the prices have increased (rewritten in pen on their takeout menus, haha), but you still can't find quality sushi for this cheap anywhere else. Every roll I've tried has been amazing, especially the volcano roll! Compared to other sushi options in the area, I'll pick Miku every time. The staff is also always friendly!

Eric D.

Yelp
This place was pretty good I thought. We placed an order online and it was pretty easy. Menu seemed pretty accurate. What I was really impressed was that once the order was ready, I received a call that my order was ready. Onto the most important part--the food of course. Sushi rolls, hand roll, and spicy tuna pizza were tasty. Sushi rice was very moist, and the spicy tuna was tasty for sure. We also had an order of Singapore mei fun (noodles). Loads of flavor--and on the spicier side of you like spicy. Overall we really enjoyed the food here. Prices were very reasonable I thought. They are currently doing takeout only it seems--since as you walk in the door they had a table where you can grab your food. Cheers and be well.

Mike G.

Yelp
The service on busy nights has improved greatly. The tuna dumplings are delicious and I highly recommend.

Stephanie H.

Yelp
I've been to Mimi sushi many, many times now. I typically get takeout and have tried a number of items including apps, noodle dishes and sushi. I have always enjoyed the food and find the food quality is consistent. I recommend them!

Susan B.

Yelp
Husband got sashimi. I had General tso's. Great hot sour +wonton soups. Prices very reasonable. Inventive

Hannah K.

Yelp
We love mikus! Great sushi for a wonderful price. Always clean and tasty. A very cute place to eat inside as well. Only warning is they get very busy on weekends, there may be a wait. (Always worth it to us though!)

Leah G.

Yelp
This is our favorite sushi place! The rolls are fresh, delicious, and not over-priced like many other places. We've gotten the tuna and avocado, salmon and avocado, crazy tuna, and crazy salmon rolls. The crazy salmon roll is amazing! We've also ordered the bento lunch boxes (chicken and broccoli, and General Tso) which had so much food for the price. The sauce on the chicken and broccoli wasn't the typical flavorless, colorless slimey sauce, but instead a rich brown, flavorful sauce. Ample parking, small inside, but the staff are all so friendly and food is always ready and hot. Would highly recommend!

Don E.

Yelp
I ordered take out here. They gave me the wrong appetizer, they put the wrong sauce on 2 of my sushi rolls and left the sauce off 1 of them. They added asparagus to a roll that did not have it on the menu. They put mango on top of another roll that didn't have it. I will never go back

Josh M.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place. Fairly new to town but setting a new standard. Seriously, we had a place in town for as long as I can remember and this relatively new business makes them look like a bunch of sleeping old men coasting on the years put in. I have been there twice now. Both times have been during this Covid funtime. They have a very good method down with minimal interaction and contact. They were even so nice as to call us to clarify our order, resulting in us getting more food and the way we wanted it. That's a level of proactive inquiry you just don't see anywhere here in town. To date I have had: A couple different bento boxes, shrimp tempura, shrimp tempura roll, California roll, General Tso's chicken, Szechuan wontons, chicken teriyaki, pork dumplings. Everything was amazing. The best part for me was that it was not too salty as Chinese food and Japanese food get off and go that way. I can hardly wait for the time where I can go and sit in the restaurant. I've heard nothing but glowing remarks from people who had the opportunity to do so.

Ron C.

Yelp
This is one of the few places I'm aware of that isn't doing dine-in yet. I ordered sushi here today and it was ok. The one thing to keep in mind when ordering is that the Sushi is by the piece, not 2 per order as most places. I learned that the hard way today when I ordered lunch and was disappointed to only see 1 piece of Nigiri per order. It ran through me pretty quick so not sure how fresh the fish is. I can't say I liked the Spicy Crab Salad as it was pretty bland. I can't say I'd rush back to this place as I can't believe they're not offering dine in and my stomach was pretty jacked following lunch here.

Suzanne M.

Yelp
Met a friend here for dinner to try someplace new. Atmosphere was clean, with average decor. The menu had many options; sushi, Japanese, Chinese. I got a veggie roll & basil chicken fried rice and enjoyed both. My friend got lo mein, crab rangoons & sesame chicken. Everything I sampled was good & pleasantly presented. The staff was attentive. The music was distracting - pop Asian music. Overall very good, didn't knock my socks off.

Patti P.

Yelp
I love going to this restaurant for sushi. My wife loves the bento boxes is probably one of my favorite lunch spots.

Donald S.

Yelp
My expectations walking into Miku could not have been any lower. When you find yourself in an unappealing half deserted shopping plaza in the middle of Nowhere Massachusetts(sorry people of West Boylston), your options are going to be scarce. Thus, as I drag myself into lunch after a nearby hike, I'm ready to succumb to disappointment. Not sure how long this restaurant has been open but judging by the "grand opening" sign, surely can't be long. Oddly enough there are yelp reviews going back quite some time but referring to a different name, so I have a feeling this is simply a rebranding. Oh great, I get to play test dummy.... The food starts to arrive one by one, time to get this over with. Wait, this isn't bad.....Actually it's pretty good. Who am I kidding, this is freaking superb! Duck rolls, beef fried rice, crispy shrimp, pork katsu, crispy fish, it's all fantastic. As a matter of fact, the rice alone might be some of the best I've had in any Asian restaurant, anywhere. Wow, didn't see this coming; talk about a plot twist. Miku sushi and Asian cuisine has made a believer out of this guy and taught me an age old lesson along the way: something about never judging a book.....

Marty F.

Yelp
Very good food, excellent sushi, great service, very reasonable prices. We visit frequently.

Yelp
GROSS!! WORM!! We went to Miku last week for my daughter's birthday. Went spent over $80 and half way through eating we found a worm in our food!! We contacted Miku explaining that after we found the worm we could not finish our meal because we were grossed out. They offered us half off our meal the next time we ordered from them. We explained that we lived over a half an hour away and after that experience we could not go back. They chose to do nothing for us.

Debra B.

Yelp
This restaurant is a little gem. Sushi was so so good, especially the spicy tuna hand rolls!

Shannon M.

Yelp
Very goid food ! We ordered for my birthday on Christmas Eve- i wish we would've of ordered different types of food were wr of sat together- o was every sick. I would again see an more apportioned time... non of the other place we were of ordered glfrom were open

Ryan T.

Yelp
Small little place and they are only doing to-go orders. Stopped here for lunch and they didn't want me in the building. They want people to pre-order, pick up and go. Inside was a mess. Only imagine the kitchen looks worse. I didn't brave the food.

Skye J.

Yelp
Delicious food, the menu had many options. I love a bento box to get a variety of items. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was prepared perfectly and quickly

Michele M.

Yelp
A hidden gem! So glad they are in town. My family and I are frequent visitors and recommend to anyone. Our houseguests are sushi LOVERS and we knew we had to introduce them to Miku. We called Miku at 830, knowing they close at 930 to see if they could accommodate a group of 10. They enthusiastically said, "come on down". The owners were pleasant, welcoming and very personable and helpful. We did not feel rushed, in fact we didn't leave until well after their closing time. We arrived with our bottles of wine and beer as it is BYOB and were quickly offered wine and beer glasses. I think we ordered two of everything on the menu! Food was quickly and perfectly prepared. Fresh, delicious and oh so beautifully presented. Overall, our guests are sushi aficionados and they LOVED Miku. THANK YOU!

Annabel K.

Yelp
It's our first time here because of good reviews on yelp. I have sashimi for two and it was fresh. My husband had general tso chicken and it's really good (that's only dish he ordered in Chinese restaurant, so you can say he is an expert :)) It's BYOB. I wished I knew before coming tonight. I'll definitely be back and try sushi next time.

Rebekah S.

Yelp
This place is soooo good and their prices are really fair. The atmosphere was cute, the staff was really friendly, and the food presentation was amazing! I can't wait to go back! The food presentation was just absolutely adorable, you could tell the person in the kitchen really cared about what they were doing. If you're looking for good sushi with a good price look no further. I only wish this place was closer to me!

E U.

Yelp
Great sushi & Japanese offerings! What they do well is always stellar. The gyoza are magic. The wontons in the wonton soup are bite size which is wonderful. The Thai and some of the Chinese offerings aren't as strong. So glad that they have finally opened up fully again.

Roxanne M.

Yelp
I don't typically leave reviews, but I am moved to do so tonight. I've been ordering takeout from here during Covid. The customer service is great, the food is the bomb, and they're quick! I called in for takeout tonight, went to leave to pick it up, and realized I had no way to pick it up. I called, embarrassed, and told them I would not be able to pick up my order even though they already made it. After sulking on the couch, they called me back 10 minutes later and said they would deliver it even though I lived outside of their neighborhood. I left the delivery guy a hefty tip, grateful I didn't have to miss out on my tasty treat

Jeremiah F.

Yelp
You can't even chew through the chicken fingers. Order brown rice they send white. BEEF TERIYAKI-is like leather. The FOOD SUCKS. Just don't order from them ... TRUST ME!

Cailin C.

Yelp
I wasn't too thrilled with my last take out experience here. I ordered in person and told the girl who took my order that I would be waiting in the car outside, she said she'd call when my food was ready. It took a long time to get a call, but I figured they were really busy. When they did call she said "I tried calling you already to see when you're going to come in to pick up your food?" I of course hadn't gotten a call yet (I was on my phone the whole time I was in the car, I would've noticed a call.) so naturally my food had been sitting around an extra 10-15 minutes. My husband's sushi was just fine, but mine unfortunately had bad shrimp or old breading on the shrimp- I couldn't eat it. Crab Rangoons were tough on the corners (I assume from sitting) and the fried rice had plain frozen veggies in it including green beans but not a lot of pork or flavor.

Tehi G.

Yelp
I have ordered food from here, for pick up, 5 times over the last 7 weeks. For a to-go place they are pretty solid. The good: -They call when the order is ready for pick up. Love this feature. -They track orders by phone number. Pretty seamless. So when you go to pick up there is no mess up with duplicates of the same name or pronunciation issues. -Everything is put together with care. The lady there bags all the cold (sushi stuff) in one bag any hot food in another to ensure the sushi doesn't get all warm and gross -They have really yummy appetizers and sushi rolls -I usually get a combination of the following apps: crispy calamari, veg tempura app, boneless spare ribs, steamed pork gyozas, crab rangoons -I usually get 3-5 of the following rolls per order: philly roll, TNT, rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll, sweet potato roll, volcano roll The not-so-good: (Their entrees) -Their pad Thai is just okay. Barely any sauce in it but maybe a decent 5/10. Nothing more -Coconut curry shrimp: mostly veggies, not very tasty :/ -shrimp pineapple fried rice: had a curry taste to it and very very plain. It was curry flavored rice with what looked like frozen mixed veggies tossed in with a couple of shrimp on top and some pieces of pineapple mixed in. If you're looking for decent apps and sushi to-go, this is your place. They are reliable. And efficient.

Jeff M.

Yelp
No frills and that's about as far as it goes. This part of Worcester is fairly limited in terms of food offerings so when on site at a nearby client, I drive the extra five minutes to grab a plate or two of standard Chinese fare and get back to the office as soon as I can. Inside an all American strip mall on the other side of West Boylston sits China Express. They have roughly 20 tables and it is rarely packed for lunch. There are two TV's that are usually airing the news. The décor could use an update but when you think American Chinese, it's nothing out of the ordinary. The fried rice is meh, the dumpling soup is pretty superb. The fried offerings like crab Rangoon, wings and chicken fingers are fairly standard and not too greasy. I tend to load up on chicken and broccoli as my staple and it's decent, although at times a tad salty. The couple who owns the restaurant are nice, even if the woman speaks little English so she often sends her husband to check up on me. You can't beat a lunch buffet for under $8 and it's one of the reasons that continues to draw me back. Don't expect the best Chinese food you've ever eaten but if you want a quick 30 minute lunch with about 15 offerings, this place will suit your needs.

Mary C.

Yelp
This place is simply the best .. family run and very very reasonable! The sushi is so fresh it's unbelievable. I can't say enough good things about the place. It's a small restaurant ( like a pizza place) BYOB.. I was just in DC having sushi and said to my daughter " when we get back home we have to go to Miku " Worcester has fine sushi restaurants but don't count out this little treasure in the plaza! Now if they could buy the space aside of it and get a liquor license it would be perfect !

Xiaowen C.

Yelp
The Mongolian Beef tastes good and exceed my expectations. Service is fine and fair, not have a chance of trying their sushi bar, probably next time tho.

K H.

Yelp
Nice people serving great food! .... What more could you want? .... Always great...Keep going Maggie!

Dan V.

Yelp
Came here after checking out the Yelp reviews and wanted to see what the hubbub was about. Restaurant is small and very unassuming. Nine tables. 1-2 servers, depending on day and time. J-Pop pretty much on loop on the radio. The sushi, though. Oh my. Got a spicy roll combo because it was cheap and came with soup and salad. The spicy tuna, salmon, and tobiko rolls in this dish are usually "filler" rolls. Cheap rolls that are satisfying, but nothing special. Here at Miku, it couldn't have been further from the truth. I consider myself an amateur sushi aficionado. I've been to 50+ sushi restaurants in the central Mass area alone, and am always excited when I find a new place to try. Out of all the places that I have been in central, MA, this place is the best. These three simple rolls almost brought me to tears, they were so good. Delicious balance of texture and really notable and memorable fish and spicy flavors. Previous to this experience, my favorite sushi restaurants in the area were Baba and Kai, like many other folks. Now, I would take Miku over those fancy (and expensive) restaurants every time. Their food is just plain better. This place is an absolute hidden gem for sushi lovers. Go here sooner rather than later.

Jared M.

Yelp
Stopped here on election night for my traditional Election Night feast. We ordered the General Tso's chicken, chicken lo mein, pork fried rice, pork dumplings, spicy wontons, and chicken yakitori. This all came to under $50. We also got an order of edamame, but we didn't order it. Not sure if it was complimentary or they thought we needed a green vegetable - Everything was delicious and fresh. Nothing tasted chemical-ey like it was just dumped out of a bag, or cooked way ahead of time, and nothing was oily or subpar. I was honestly impressed. Also - the regular steamed white rice was some of the best I've ever had. This is my new regular spot despite the 15 minute drive out of Worcester. Well done.

Alex C.

Yelp
I order from here almost weekly, they do a great job and have consistently great maki and sashimi. The eel in particular is delicious. Excellent service, good prices, and one of my consistent favorite places for takeout.

David M.

Yelp
Seemed like a small place to eat with 9 tables and chairs at the sushi area, but really could fit about maybe 50 people. BYOB for drinkers. Staff was friendly and attentive. I placed special food changes and they were fine with that - nice. We ordered mongolian beef, chicken and brocolli, veg tempura and sushi. In particular the sushi was so good looking and matched the looks with the taste. The beef dish was really good. If i was to change anything it would have been the texture of the chicken... kind of no texture at all. All and all a good restaurant and would have not found this place without yelp. It is located in a strip mall off the main road. Clean and friendly.

Ally P.

Yelp
I have had a lot is sushi in my lifetime and this place is standard. Nothing makes them stand out. The sushi rice is poorly cooked and the spicy mayo is too salty. I won't be returning. It's the same quality you'd get from getting rolls at the grocery store. L

Jon P.

Yelp
Top notch Sushi. Eric and Meg are great hosts. I had spicy crab roll- a Go go Godzilla roll and it was all delectable and presentation was stunning. They have a sushi bar you can sit at. Bring yourself a cocktail -- it's byob and enjoy this hidden gem!

Monica B.

Yelp
Great sushi, very fresh! Their lunch pricing is unbeatable! Regular prices are also very reasonable, but lunch is where it's at. The service is great. Place is BYOB. Went 3x in the span of a week it was so good. Will definitely be back soon! Highly recommend! *Hoping they add Hawaiian poké bowl to their menu.

Mar M.

Yelp
Miku is the best Japanese in Central Mass. (We've tried MANY and they usually tend to be wanna be-Japanese but in reality they are American drink bars. Miku is the real thing.) High quality food, I really appreciate having Japanese cooks and authentic Japanese style. The staff is very kind yet they let you eat in peace without constantly asking you to confirm them that the food is good.

Marcy M.

Yelp
Was craving Chinese and delivery. Rare around here. Sterling. Turns out DoorDash now delivers from about 8 restaurant locations. Food was great! When they first opened I wasn't that impressed with their Chinese entrees. This time, full of flavor and fresh. Asked for extra veggies in chicken fried basil ride and asked for it spicy. Really delicious! Lo mein I also asked for spicy. Perfect. Husband very happy with sushi! Price not bad. Spicy dumplings were amazing! Also got edamame and won ton soup which I haven't gotten to yet. Maybe breakfast. Great experience overall with great food and fast delivery from door dash on a crazy rainy Friday night.

Joy T.

Yelp
The Spider & Yummy Rolls were very good. I would definitely order this again whenever I'm in the area. Place is very clean.

Joe C.

Yelp
Every time I try one of their standard Asian dishes, such as pork fried rice, lo mein or pad Thai, it's the best I've ever had. Of course all of their specialties and sushi dishes are fabulous as well. This place is awesome! I have been coming here since they opened in 2017. Please be patient on the busy nights like Friday and Saturday. If you want the place to yourself, come during the week for lunch or dinner. Don't worry, they don't serve anything that is not fresh. That is something that really impressed me when they first opened. Also, it's BYOB so come prepared.
