"Situated right on the seafront, Miky is one of the best restaurants for fish (including the famous Monterosso anchovies) in the region, serving cuisine which is more and more exciting and individual every year. There’s also a small shop selling local produce." - Michelin Inspector

This restaurant should be taken off all guides. The food experience was between negative and mediocre. One waiter was very friendly, others were giving off a vibe of wanting to go home. We ordered two pasta dishes. One of them was supposed to have a fancy presentation, setting the dough on fire. Unfortunately by husband wasn’t able to witness it as the waiter did it behind the bush. 😂 My seafood pasta was massively over salted, and had 5 clams in total. For 36 EUR per pasta dish I would have expected at least something that tastes good or is made from home made pasta, which wasn’t the case. We didn’t dare to try dessert because anything till that point was massively disappointing. The serving plates looked pretty, which was the only nice thing about this restaurant.

We ordered 2 dishes, one is the starter with mixed seafood, the other is the fish with salt crust. Both taste delicious. When they served the fish, I thought it was a good presentation as they removed the salt crust and all the bones of the fish with patience. They also spend effort to split the starter and fish to two plates so me and my wife can share. Food price is on the high side as it is located in the Conque Terre and they also charge 10 Euro per person for the station fee. All in all. We are satisfied.

Google
Best food during our trip in Italy so far. Exceeded expectations. It does have the view as other restaurants on the beach, but the food was fantastic! Best pasta we’ve had in years with perfect texture and perfect sauce. And the chocolate cake was so so good!

Food at Miky is great and it’s a dream that you can have all this creativity and taste in the wonderful Monterosso. please stop posting bad reviews. Italian food experience cannot get any better

Food was good. The mixed seafood platter was tasty, and the seafood was very fresh. I personally felt that the octopus and squid were the tastiest. Do note that the tuna is not fully cooked though. Prices are on the steeper side, but ambience is good. We were there on a weekday afternoon and there were plenty of seats available. If you're coming on a weekend, I think reservations will be needed. I'd also recommend coming as a larger group to try out more items.

I recently dined at Miky in Monterosso al Mare, a restaurant formerly awarded a Michelin star and still mentioned in the Guide. Having enjoyed exceptional meals at starred restaurants in cities like Bilbao, New York, and Mexico City, I came in with high expectations. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the worst dining experience I’ve had to date. I made a same-day reservation, which was surprisingly easy to get—a red flag in hindsight. My friend and I were seated, and I expressed interest in the innovation tasting menu. However, because my friend has a shellfish allergy, she couldn’t partake. The waiter (with glasses) informed us that the tasting menu could only be served if both guests ordered it—no exceptions. I asked whether we could sit at separate tables so I could have the menu and she could go à la carte. He said that would be acceptable. Rather than be accommodated, my friend chose to take her meal to go and eat by the beach. Shockingly, her takeaway box came with no utensils or napkins—something so basic and easy to provide. It felt careless. What made the experience worse was the manager’s attitude. When I raised the issue at the end of my meal, he backed the waiter’s decision without hesitation, even after I explained the allergy situation. I shared that I’ve dined at multiple Michelin-starred restaurants where dietary restrictions are handled with grace and flexibility. His response? “We don’t want the Michelin star.” If that’s the case, why plaster your windows with stickers showcasing previous Michelin recognition? If it truly means nothing to you, I challenge you to take them down. I hesitate to bring this up, but it didn’t escape our notice that we were the only people of color dining in the restaurant that night. I would like to believe that had nothing to do with the lack of courtesy or flexibility we received, but the experience left a bad taste in more ways than one. I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience was so deeply disappointing—both in terms of service and food quality—that I feel compelled to share. There are so many better places to eat in Cinque Terre. I suggest you skip this one.

Given the price and accolades for this restaurant, we felt the service was not at all aligned. Maybe we were pegged as American's or maybe it was an off day. When the waiter came up to us the first time, he simple said are you ready to order. No “welcome to Miky”, no let’s start with drinks (he had to get us a wine list as we didn’t get one when we were seated), and no explanation of the menu. He just jumped right in. We ordered the traditional tasting menu and shame on us for not looking at the dishes more carefully. We love sardines, but thought 3 tastings that contained sardines was a little too much for us. That’s on us. We loved the pesto and the stuffed cuttlefish! We wish we just ordered standard first and second courses. This is one of the most expensive lunches we have ever had in our lives. I was so excited to go there and had high expectations. We were SO disappointed.

Incredible food, welcoming atmosphere! 5 Star sea food at a reasonable rate. Unbelievably nice staff 🥰 Best restaurant stop in all of Cinque Terre!!

Yelp
Just go. Don't think twice. Service top notch. Everything cooked to perfection. Every dish was spot on from pasta to the seafood. For 6 people we paid around $300 USD including wine, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. My favorite meal in Cinque terre.

Yelp
Came back a second time to see if it was as good as we thought - and it was!! The service is excellent - they do not hurry you no matter how busy they are. We sat at our table (as did others around us) for just over two hours savoring every moment. It didn't feel that long until you looked at your watch! Again, the food was impeccable. Beautiful interior, however, I strongly recommend sitting out on the patio. Its lovely view just adds to the experience. Enjoy!

Yelp
Excellent experience! Amazing food and great service. Call to reserve. Highly recommend!

Yelp
After a rewarding, but long trek and a short nap - we popped out of our hotel and walked around Monteresso where we ran into this gem. They welcomed us with open arms close to closing time and spent time talking with us throughout our meal. We learned of so many great stories of Miky from his family while we were there. I carry a keepsake of this place in my memory box not only to remember the great memories made and histories between families that were shared, but also because it was incredible food. Three years later, we still think about that meal and the intentional, clean ingredients and preparation that went into it. From our series of pasta dishes to our full dessert spread it felt like we'd walked into a Michelin experience made just for us. If we ever end up in Cinque Terre again, we will be making the trek here.

Yelp
Came here for dinner when my husband and I visited cinque terre for the day. We had high expectations given the number of awards and Michelin recognitions, but after having the meal, we weren't as impressed. Thankfully, we were able to get a reservation same day, which was nice, but it explained a lot. We started out with the mixed seafood appetizer, which, if based on its presentation only, would get 5/5 stars. However, based on taste, it dropped down to a 3/5. I wouldn't say it was "bad" by any means, but it had too many flavors and textures that just didn't mix well together. If each item was separate, or even just less items on each plate, I think it would have been better. We also got pumpkin gnocchi with fish. We thought we were going to get pieces of fish, or fish flavor. Instead, we got mushed up, chorizo style pieces of fish that were mixed in with the rest of the pumpkin and tomatoes. Again, each individual item of food was outstanding. However, when all mixed together, the textures and flavors did not go well. Lastly, for our entree, we got the turbot. Once again, no cohesiveness with the flavors and textures and not worth the price tag. We had to head back to our hotel out of town so we didn't stay for dessert as that road to get out of cinque terre is small and windy and scary. Additionally, for such a highly reviewed and regarding restaurant, I was expecting MUCH better service. We were only attended to when our food would come out with a short explanation for the food. No one bothered to come in between to check in on us or ask how everything is going. Overall, I was not impressed with my experience and would likely not recommend this restaurant to others.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came here right at opening without a reservation but were able to be sat outside. It seemed most people who sat inside had reservations. It was a beautiful evening and we actually felt as though we lucked out sitting on the patio. In passing my girlfriend mentioned I was vegetarian while we were trying to figure out what I could eat. The waitstaff offered a starter of roasted vegetables which wasn't on the menu. They also changed one of the amuse bouche trios to be vegetarian so I could eat it. Both were delicious and unexpected. I really appreciated the effort. In general the servers were very thoughtful and attentive the entire meal. I had the pesto pasta and roasted vegetables and my girlfriend had several seafood dishes. We both thought it was the best meal we've had so far in Italy! When we visit Cinque Terre again we will be back!!

Yelp
Great food , service ! My fave restaurant in Monterosso Al mare Top notch dinner service starting with the free appetizers and capping the meal with a complimentary cookie and meringue

Rhonda D.

Yelp
English: Worst experience of ANY restaurant I have ever been too. It is outrageous to even have this restaurant posted being in a Michelin publication. It took 44 minutes between the time the appetizers were served and the entree being served. By the time we got our entrees one was cold and not edible, and the other entree/fish was extremely over cooked. Probably because it was sitting for so long under a heat lamp/warmer. We sent back both entrees, and we were so tired of waiting (20:02 by the time we got the entrees) we chose not to order anything else. We asked for the check and they refused to remove the entrees that we sent back. We walked outside to the patio and the female manager and a male staff member forcibly put their hands on my wife and I. We have pictures and a partial video (not expecting anything like this to happen) to prove all of this. The female manager (no one has name badges on) was only concerned about us deleting the picture and video. It took a 3rd person that claimed to be police officer in plain clothes, but would not take a report, to negotiate and settle at the amount for the bill that was not sent back. Unbelievable poor customer service and food! Do not waste your time or money! Incredibile servizio clienti scadente e cibo! Non sprecare il tuo tempo o denaro!

Yelp
I have to unfortunately say it's underwhelming and not loving the food or the wine.. Let me break down my opinion as a food lover from SF. The chef and owner are sweet and the actual mother came out from the kitchen. This was towards the end and Grammies didn't want to stop by. The anchovies spaghetti was good and very local fresh tasting I would recommend this solely if you love anchovies. The tiramisu dessert had an interesting custard flavor with fresh chocolate chips and wonderful. Other than that I thought the place was lacking in so many ways. The sea bass was not available and so just the sea bream was available but did not have lemon and acidity. The salad was average with basic wilted produce. For $181 euros I would expect a better meal and service. I have travelled Italy several times recently and there's no reason to be mediocre in Monterossa in food, wine and lackluster service.

Sophia N.

Yelp
We made a reservation about a month in advance because this restaurant was highly recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint! We opted for the classic prix fixed meal with some local white wine that the server suggested. Every course was delicious and tasted fresh. Monterosso is known for their pesto and sardines so it was no wonder Miky's classic choices for the area featured these items. We were stuffed and happy by the end. I also loved that although it is a Michelin starred restaurant, it didn't feel too stuffy. Sitting outdoors and watching people walk by was a relaxing experience that we'll never forget. The pesto and the mussels were my favorite dishes here and we hope to return one day!

Yelp
One of the best meals we've had in our 3 week holiday. The food is innovative and outstanding. We had dishes beautifully done like. I thing else we've had before. Not to be outdone by the food, the service was also unlike anything else I've experienced before. I went to the bathroom between courses and the server took the dish back and re-did it as he didn't want it to sit while waiting for my return. Incredible.

Eitan F.

Yelp
Everything here on paper was outstanding. However the execution lacked something when considering the price and hype. Each dish was light and complex, even creative and uniquely developed, but the balance each time just seemed to be off. In the gnocchi, the pumpkin and sun dried tomatoes were fantastic but proportionately lacking in the dish making it feel bland and texturally not complete. The fish was fantastically cooked but there were so many side items on the plate (looked beautiful) that I couldn't figure out what would make the intended bite or flavor profile. I get the whole choose your own adventure and art idea of it, but I felt like this aimed for the moon and overshot it a bit. Keep in mind each bite here was delicious, but so are most bites in the area. The chef executed beautifully on each dish, but I think some of the concepts didn't land for me at this price point.

Mitchell Z.

Yelp
A night at Miky is a culinary experience. The service is so friendly and attentive. The dishes are exactingly presented. We had the appetizer sampler. The dish lets the taste of the seafood shine. Everything was prepared with precision and perfection and delivered in stages to let us enjoy with leisure. For a main I had the mixed seafood grill. It was sublime. So many flavors and textures to please the senses, I was taken to another plane. I won't soon forget Miky.

Monte F.

Yelp
I dined at Miky almost 20 years ago and the experience was so memorable, the first thing I did on returning to Monterosso was to book 2 nights of reservations there. I was especially interested to taste the seafood dish in a pie crust again & was not disappointed. It's so good, I didn't even know I was enjoying anchovies. Miky is well deserving of its awards--including its perennial Michelin rating. Thanks so much to Sara & the staff for making us feel welcome.

Tanika T.

Yelp
Good food. If you're looking for a place with a view then this isn't it. I recommend going here for a lunch or if you have awhile in Cinq Terre then dinner. We opted for Al a carte instead of the tasting menu. I liked my lobster pasta and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his anchovies one. Again, it's good food, in a semi-formal atmosphere. One of the most reasonable Michelin restaurants we've been to.

R A F.

Yelp
Pricey???? Yes. But great! And great unobtrusive service. Pasta dishes - light and flavorful. Seafood??? Yes...and ask them to customize...and they'll do it. Go!!

Lily W.

Yelp
We were only going to get a drink and antipasto, but the dishes listed on the menu convinced us to stay for lunch. First, everyone was very attentive and kind. One of the owners came by a couple of times to check on us to make sure everything was fine. The food was absolutely deliciously inventive. I ordered pescato del giorno and got a nice presentation. We couldn't resist the wonderful inventive desserts. The sfera do cioccolato was beautiful and tasty. My 10 year old like it too. That's saying something. It was a nice surprise and we will definitely be telling friends about it.

Lynne M.

Yelp
A beautiful gourmet experience! Attentive and friendly service and wonderful food. Highly recommend the "Miky special" appetizer selection, which was course after course of inventive and delicious appetizers of varying flavor profiles. And don't miss the homemade pastas!

Eric S.

Yelp
This is a hard review to write. As someone in the culinary world., we knew almost immediately after the first dish the type of chef that ran this place. The dishes are gorgeous. There is so much thought, love, and attention put into the presentation. It's artwork. The taste however, was pretty disappointing. It feels like the staff must be afraid of their chef, because the dishes coming out a student fresh out of culinary school could quickly highlight the flaws. The fact that these dishes are being sent tells me that all of the chefs in the kitchen are afraid to critique the executives chefs food. In short. Everything lacked salt. Dramatically The food was bland, and sometimes confusing. There's just too much randomness to the dishes. 4 ramekins of sauces, for a seafood dish. What sauce goes where, and some really didn't fit at all. The linguine had a focaccia foam/sauce. Sounds interesting. Destroyed the dish. It made the dish gummy, and tasted like starchy thick water was mixed into my delicate seafood dish. One dish had a light fish with caviar. The fish had zero salt and the caviar didn't lend enough salinity to balance. Another - the red prawns dish, again lacked salt, and acid. The entire meal fell incredibly flat. And the presentation made me feel like the chef is pompous, and unaware of the taste of his food. The fact that a team of cooks/ chefs are not catching this means they are afraid to tell the chef their opinions. The front of house staff was very nice, but felt void of happiness. The ambiance was gorgeous, but the energy of the staff felt like they were completely demoralized. This -- added with 3 hours for a 4 course meal..... it's just not worth it. The chef is clearly creative, but he needs to reign it in and focus his dishes and flavors. Mikys food has lost the basics and replaced it with flashy plating. Time to go back to the basics. Make good tasting food first. Then make it gorgeous.

Erik P.

Yelp
Amazing spot in Cinque Terre. Honestly some of best pasta we ever had. The hole experience was ridiculously tasty. The pistachio dessert was maybe the best dessert I ever tasted.

Fitch B.

Yelp
The food was excellent. The service had a lot to be desired. The many waiters were less than attentive. We struggled to get their attention as they continued to rush past our table without glancing our way.

AJ O.

Yelp
Epic meal. An experience that must be tried if you are staying in Cinque Terre. Make reservations though as it has been impossible to walk in every night we've been here. Started off with an apperatif on the house, a lovely prosecco with a sambuca flower and lemon and mint leaf. Excellent. Then we had the ligurean cheese plate. Excellent, and it rivals any cheese course you could have in France with all types of excellent cheese represented. Scallops were next. Very good as well. Cooked perfectly with truffle and bacon on top. Taste was great although the bacon overpowered the truffle. Still great. Next we had the squid ink pasta with burrata reduction. Perfectly Al dente and big flavor. Also had the pesto pasta, as good as this can get. Ate every drop. Also ordered the grilled seafood and veggie plate. All types of fish and shellfish represented: anchovy, tuna, swordfish, scampi, shrimps, razor clams, calamari, and more. Grilled to perfection, if you love seafood and aren't timid about it then this is for you. Dessert was the sampler. The whipped pistachio cream was the standout to me. Excellent! Wine was the Cinque Terre white selection, goes great with the seafood. Service was very friendly and helpful. Only beef I had was the pace. They seem to plan for each table to seat only once per night. So for an 8 pm seating we didn't leave until after 11. That's fine for a table of 8 say, but we were a 3 top. Excellent overall.

Shawn H.

Yelp
We came here for lunch in the middle of a beach day, and it was fantastic. We got the pasta with pesto and green beans, and the spaghetti with anchovies, olives and pine nuts. Both were excellent -- the best of each that we had in Cinque Terre. Wish we could have come here for dinner as well -- probably would be a stop we'd make next trip.

Emily K.

Yelp
Great for meat/seafood eaters. Not vegetarian friendly -- only 1 vegetarian option which was a pasta dish consisting of 7 noodles--when I requested the great looking vegetable sides from the meat options it was denied. It made for a stressful experience. The meringue on the dessert tasted like fish (same blowtorch?).

Natalie S.

Yelp
Some of the most amazing food I've ever had and wonderful service. Ask your server for local wine recommendations, you won't go wrong. Order anything off the menu (we nearly did!) and you will be in for a real treat!

Denise D.

Yelp
This is a. Very elegant restaurant with a nice vibe. We ordered the 5 course "traditional menu" because we are really enjoying the local cuisine here in Cinque Terre. The appetizer of anchovies prepared 4 ways was really terrific. The next course was a pasta- with a flaming bread topped bowl. It was theatrical but good, although it did include another large serving of anchovies- but I was good with that. It was tasty, but didn't blow me away. Then came another pasta course with creamy pesto that was lovely. But two pastas back to back was very filling. Then we waited for 20-30 minutes thinking dessert was coming when they finally brought a full plate of grilled octopus. My husband and I are hearty eaters and it was just overwhelming and felt wasteful. I could only eat one bite, it was decent but nothing special. Dessert showed up 30 minutes later and there were three of them, only the pistachio pudding was good. The tiramisu was bland and runny and I don't know what the other mound of cream topped with crumbs and kiwi was, but it was tasteless and unpleasant. All in all it was a mixed bag in terms of food and service. We had better food with more passion and less pretense at other restaurants in Monterosso. I guess I was disappointed because I had made the reservation far ahead of time (it took 2 or 3 emails to get a response, and it was much more expensive than other places in town.

Yelp
Dinner for 2. - Ambiance (4/5) Fine dining environment. - Service (4/5) Courteous and friendly for the most part though a bit deceiving. Asked twice for tap water and finally given bottled water (and charged for it). - Bread, 8€ (2/5) Expensive and really not that special. The white bread in particular tastes a bit stale. - Breaded Seafood, 25€ (3/5) Lots of variety- scallop, clams, mussels, razor clams, shrimp, langoustines, fish. We felt it could have been baked a bit longer as the breading was a bit soggy. Good flavors though! - Pasta Sheets w/ Seafood, 19€ (4/5) Really good home made pasta. Felt the sheets could have been a bit thicker but all in all very, very good. The clams and tomatoes were also very flavorful, though the dish could've used a bit less oil. - Whole Baked Branzino, 28€ (4/5) Really fresh fish. Wood fire oven. Sounds great, right? It was! The waiter even helped to remove the meat off the carcass table side. I felt the olive flavor didn't quite permeate the meat of the fish, so that could have been a bit better. But the star of the fish was the potatoes! Thinly sliced, slightly crispy, copious rosemary... like the freshest potato chips! - Value (3/5) A tad on the expensive side but nothing egregious. - Final Word Good flavors, great pastas! A few minor things here and there but overall a really good meal.

Yelp
Incredible service, food and wine. Highly recommend you visit Miky if your looking for best in class dining! The cuisine was fantastic! Everything we ordered was superb.

Ginnie N.

Yelp
I was going to give only 3 1/2. the time between our secondi and mains was almost an hour it felt like,, we had reservations many weeks in advance. Im not sure if they were short staffed ? anyway ,, it was a nice last night in monterosso, perhaps they need a few more servers.

Courtney P.

Yelp
Very glad we went here! Everything we ordered was fantastic! We sampled the menu, but the tuna tartare is what we are still raving about. The combination of flavors was unexpected but exquisite. ORDER IT. We also had the burrata (Pomodori tartare) which was delicious, a pesto pasta, and of course a seafood pasta. This was an unexpected favorite in all of cinqueterre. Outdoor seating Oceanside was lovely, indoors is beautiful (and cozy) too! Service was prompt and pleasant. An absolute must try!

Nyc N.

Yelp
Very delicious & modern! We had the 7 course innovation menu. Everything was beautifully presented & delicious- a modern take on Ligurian food! We were beyond full by the end. The tasting menu & pictures of each course attached.

I Love G.

Yelp
What we had tasted good- appetizer mixed and sardine pasta, local wine is delicious. Service poor- drawn out. Never asked if we wanted more wine or more water. Small portions for price. Pretentious feel. Left thirsty and hungry because after 2 hrs did not want to wait longer. Would not go again or recommend. Also has 4 euro service charge per person. Had outstanding food prior to here at another restaurant with much better service in Manarola.

Rashida L.

Yelp
This Michelin star restaurant is a real treat in Monterosso. The seafood is as fresh as it gets. We got the catch of the day, which was sea bass, baked whole with potatoes, olives and pine nuts. They bring it to your table on a large platter and then skin and debone the fish right there. It was absolutely delicious, the fish just melts in your mouth. I can't say that I've had better fish anywhere else! For dessert we had puff pastry filled with lemon cream. It's served warm and was absolutely divine. To finish off they serve you lemoncino with lemon cookies. It's these little touches coupled with great food and exceptional service that makes it such an incredible experience!!

Jackson C.

Yelp
This was by far our best meal of many during a week in Cinque Terre. The food was amazing and the staff was friendly and patient with our limited Italian. We started with the selection of anchovies. With seven different preparations, it was a brilliant display of the range of the little fish. If you've only ever had them salted and canned, you have no idea how good they can be. Next I had the gnocchi with clams and zucchini and my wife had the spaghetti with lobster. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. For desert we had all local lemon dishes: puff pastry with lemon cream and lemon sorbet. A perfect end to the perfect Ligurian meal. But that wasn't the end! They sent us away with complimentary shots of Lemoncino.

BD M.

Yelp
Extraordinary meal. #1 - Ambience: warm, inviting, cozy #2 - Service: Excellent, attentive, entire team of waiters served us #3 - Food: Bread was great, Gnocchi with Pesto was EXCEPTIONALLY delicious (we decided to take an entrée & split as appetizer because I wanted to try that pesto); I ordered the duck breast which was a little gamey but flavorful and the presentation looked like an artist's palette. Incredibly complex preparation and beautiful to see and delicious to eat. Husband ordered entire fish with thinly sliced potatoes. Great choice when in Cinque Terre - Creative menu, definitely a wonderful opportunity to try foods prepared in new ways.

Bonnie L.

Yelp
Definitely visit if you are in Cinque Terre! We heard good things about this place so we made reservations for lunch just in case, but the restaurant was pretty empty when we went. We made sure to get the pasta dishes which comes covered in pizza dough. The waiter flames them up tableside so it cooks the dough, so you enjoy eating it with your pasta. We got the ravioli and spaghetti with monkfish, both were delicious and light!

Wayne N.

Yelp
We were not sure if the higher end, more exclusive restaurant Miky, in 5 Terre turistica area, would be worth it necessarily. We were able to get an outdoor table and we can report that the food was outstanding. Better yet, the service, particularly a waiter named Gianluca, was OUTSTANDING. Gianluca has a terrific sense of how and when to interact. We also observed him liaising with a Spanish couple dining next to us. He has a calm friendly personality and a good sense of humor. We recommend Miky in Monterosso to visitors for a quality meal and experience, ESPECIALLY if you're lucky to find that Gianluca is on duty.

Ben C.

Yelp
Fantastic. Michelin quality food, presentation, plating in a relaxed atmosphere. Recommended by our boat captain. The opposite of a tourist trap.

Joe K.

Yelp
The best restaurant in monterroso by far. The branzino dish was amazing. I definitely recommend this place with great food and good wine.

Anya S.

Yelp
This is probably my overall favorite restaurant in Monterosso. Came with no reservations for two nights for a late dinner - manager was more than happy to accommodate. Staff here are extremely nice and speaks English very well. First night we came, we were full from a late dinner so we only had room for a pasta. My boyfriend ordered the spaghetti with anchovies. It comes with a dough on top which they light on fire. I had gnocchi, which tasted delicious. Must go if you come to Moneterosso!

Snuffles B.

Yelp
So good we ate here back-to-back nights. And not just because we were renting an apartment from the family that runs this place (you get a 10% discount if you stay at one of their lodgings!). Reservations recommended but walk in during shoulder season is possible. Atmosphere: Clean, simple, yet homey, dress up or down, The tables outside can get chilly so layer up! Service: Flawless Food: Seafood in its freshest, simplest form done right. - Grilled calamari - Amazing, amazing, amazing - Grilled seafood plate - Excellent - Baked seafood plate - Excellent - HUGE - Fish ravioli - Awesome - Baked in a dish covered with Pizza dough for that toasted doughy essence. - Seafood pasta of some sort - Average - Salad - Average - Dessert sampler - Good but forgettable - Pistachio semi freddo - Smooth and light This place REALLY deserves a have a Michelin Star.

Yelp
One is tempted to blame Rick Steves (as other Yelpers have already done) for the discovery of Miky but that wouldn't be fair. Miky sits right at the edge of the beachside promenade leading to the new village of Monterosso al Mare from the rail station. It's high traffic location and reputation among locals (it was recommended by our host and even used as a landmark for our shuttle) along with the fact that it intentionally sets itself apart from the trattoria set with linen settings, rolling carts and table-side flourishes combine to make this a go-to spot for memorable evenings. We made sure to snag a reservation on a week night (they are closed on Tuesdays) and were glad as the walk-in wait was impressive. We were greater with typical Italian service and seated in an interior dining room near the live eel tank. There were Italians to our left, Francophones to our right and a party of Americans celebrating at a large table behind us. The wine and champaign selection was adequate without being daunting or stilted. Think baby bear, just right. We chose a local Cheo 2013 from Cinque Terre and decided to keep a local palate when approaching the menu. What followed was a scene ripped out of Forrest Gump, except instead of shrimp, we were treated to a parade of sardines prepared every imaginable way. Do yourself a favor and order this primo piatto. From there we each chose a pasti course. I had the spaghetti al mare while my wife opted for the ravioli. It's worth noting before Guy Fieri discovers this place, that all pasti courses are presented in casserole dishes table side by a server who then douses dish and ignites a fresh pizza dough which is stretched over the casserole. This is not only a fun schtick, but it cooks the dough to provide a nice accompaniment to your pasta. Then you dive in like Indiana Jones opening up monkey brains because it's impossible to know what lies under your crust. Fun suspense. We rounded off the meal with a secondi of fried seafood and typical aperitifs. The conte was the highest we paid during our stay in Monterosso but that's what this place is. As a local growing up in a beach town in New England, I wouldn't always eat at places like Miky, but when I was trying to impress a girl or celebrate a graduation i had one or two similar places as go-tos. If you are in Cinque Terre and want that experience you will be rewarded at Miky!

Yelp
We enjoyed a fancy and delicious meal for 4 in evening. Wonderful wait staff. Small portions and pricey but very good. Large wine selection.

Yelp
A classy restaurant with attentive staff. The food was outstanding as well as the staff. We ordered a variety of dishes to share which may not have been how they wanted us to order but it allowed us to have a taste of a variety of dishes.

Yelp
Had the octopus to start and was fantastic. We split a whole fish, catch of the day, in crusted salt. Melted in your mouth and very fresh. Topped with local chilled white wine that was perfect. All in all very satisfying and friendly service.

Yelp
Best restaurant in eastern Italy ! We had salted sea bass and it was prepared beautifully and the taste was amazing. I would go here every day if I lived here. The wine selection is very good as well as the amazing local olive oil.

Yelp
Miky was worth every penny!!! We made a reservation to be safe, got to the restaurant about 15 minutes prior to our reserved time and were welcomed in by one of the chef's wife to our table. From the very beginning, we were treated so well. Dinner started with a complimentary glass of champagne. We ordered the scallops for appetizer, sea bass ravioli and pesto gnocchi for pasta followed by duck and pork stomach entrees. Finished with tiramisu for dessert. We had a bottle of the house white wine which was amazing. Dinner concluded with a complimentary plate of meringue and limoncello shots. The bill was our highest yet after a tour of Rome and Florence but well worth it. The Michelin rating is what drove us here and I'm glad we did. GO HERE!!! The wait staff was amazing. The other chef's wife kept coming around and checking on us. She actually took our order in the beginning and chased us as we were leaving to wish us a happy rest of our holiday. I can't say enough good things about Miky!

Yelp
The absolute worst service we've had in Italy! Our waiter got upset that we didn't want to order lunch but just drinks (even though we ordered a bottle of wine), olives and lemon sorbet. We actually saw him end his shift and leave without cashing us out, letting us know that we would have a different waitress, etc. We heard someone talk about the pasta being good so we decided to order the pesto and were very disappointed. It was over cooked and flavorless. When my mom asked for some olive oil for her bread (that they bring you without asking but also charge for) the waitress said "we don't do that, it's a touristy thing". This was a turnoff as she had bottles of vinegar and oil sitting right behind her. We won't be back!

Yelp
Greeted cheerfully by the host and all the staff. It was like we were regulars. Located in the "new" area of Monterosso, Restorante Miky sets itself apart by offering excellent food and service in an upscale ambience. Our table provided ample space and was very comfortable. Our wait staff was delightful. They cheerfully answered our many questions and allowed changes to their menu. We had spaghetti with seafood, seafood risotto, caprese salad, and sea bass ravioli. Just outstanding. Wine list offers a wide selection of Prosecco and many locally produced wines. This is the place to eat in Monterosso Cinque Terre. Do not miss it!
