Came here for dinner when my husband and I visited cinque terre for the day. We had high expectations given the number of awards and Michelin recognitions, but after having the meal, we weren't as impressed.
Thankfully, we were able to get a reservation same day, which was nice, but it explained a lot.
We started out with the mixed seafood appetizer, which, if based on its presentation only, would get 5/5 stars. However, based on taste, it dropped down to a 3/5. I wouldn't say it was "bad" by any means, but it had too many flavors and textures that just didn't mix well together. If each item was separate, or even just less items on each plate, I think it would have been better.
We also got pumpkin gnocchi with fish. We thought we were going to get pieces of fish, or fish flavor. Instead, we got mushed up, chorizo style pieces of fish that were mixed in with the rest of the pumpkin and tomatoes. Again, each individual item of food was outstanding. However, when all mixed together, the textures and flavors did not go well.
Lastly, for our entree, we got the turbot. Once again, no cohesiveness with the flavors and textures and not worth the price tag.
We had to head back to our hotel out of town so we didn't stay for dessert as that road to get out of cinque terre is small and windy and scary.
Additionally, for such a highly reviewed and regarding restaurant, I was expecting MUCH better service. We were only attended to when our food would come out with a short explanation for the food. No one bothered to come in between to check in on us or ask how everything is going.
Overall, I was not impressed with my experience and would likely not recommend this restaurant to others.
