Milano Bakery and Cafe

This place was absolutely wonderful! I'm visiting here to help with family and my sister who lives in Michigan ask me to stop here and pick up some zucchini bread well I didn't know that this place would have all of these amazing treats, sandwiches, and soups! To put it mildly I went crazy in that bakery🤣 I bought the bread a custard cupcake (which by is really a personal size cake) and so darn Delicious! The Mediterranean sandwich on their hoagie bread melt in your mouth the bread was so soft. The only problem I had was the wait on my sandwich (20 mins or more) so when I asked the ETA on my sandwich cause others have come and gone after I ordered, found out ticket didn't go through but that sweet lady had my sandwich made in like 3 minutes. Do I recommend Milano's Absolutely!!! Will I be going there once or twice a week until I head back home Yaaassss I surely will🤣

Stopped by for some pastries and it was just okay. The tiramisu was the best of the lot. The creme brulee was okay and the pie crust on the strawberry cream was too dry for me. Would be up to try some of the other pastries the next time I'm around town.

I was really excited to try this bakery given the reviews. I was disappointed with everything I had, and I tried multiple things. I got a breakfast sandwich and a loaf of italian bread and they were OK. The breakfast sandwich was just kind of dry. The Italian loaf was nice and squishy but didn't have the flavor I was looking for. I also purchased a cannoli, a mini pineapple upside down cake and a chocolate chip cookie of some sort and I think something else. Regardless I honestly didn't like any of it, especially the pineapple upside down cake which had a weird smell and taste. They have plenty of other things, so if you go, try things other than what I got! That's the only suggestion I have for you.

I have ordered Birthday Cakes for my birthday the past couple years. Every cake I have gotten from this bakery have been excellent. I plan on getting a specialty cake for Thanksgiving this year. Peanut Butter Madness has become my favorite cake.

Just when I thought it couldn’t get much better, surprise! Always fresh and now we tried the Chicken Pot Pie! Reasonably priced for top quality food and service! Love this family owned Italian bakery!

I love Milano. I got a strawberry lemonade cake for my birthday and it did not disappoint. I loved it. The cake was moist and the frosting was just right but the strawberries on top set it off 🙌🏾

We have been stopping here for years now and will continue coming here. It's a very nice bakery that has options that are sure to please just about anybody. In fact it takes a while of walking back and forth looking into all the nicely arranged display cases trying to decide on what to get. The staff is friendly and willing to answer questions on the items. Everything there always is SO good. My only disappointment is beyond their control, and that is like most places, they can't fill positions (because people don't want to work) and so they had to cut out some stuff like their sandwiches for hopefully only temporary time (which the last time I had their sandwiches, they were so good).

From the breakfast sandwiches to the bread to the sweets, it’s always a good experience!! The food is great, sometimes the customer service is poor but it’s not bad enough to deter me from coming back.

So sad they are closed for business. Had great baked goods. Hopefully they can reopen the cafe and bakery eventually. They are definitely missed.

Unassuming bakery-cafe duo north of Eastern Market. I have been meaning to check out Milano Cafe for a while after driving past it so many times. They have a large selection of sandwiches, salads, pizza and soups (along with a very temping pastry case filled with goodies). I had a caprese pesto sandwich with a side of coleslaw and a piece of pineapple upside down cake. Everything was delicious and it was the perfect serving size for lunch. Quick note: -Don't fret about Eastern Market parking, they have a parking lot adjacent to the building. -I bought a loaf of bread while I was in and was SHOCKED at how cheap it was. It tasted great too!

Best Experience ever! The movement and the consistent background noise of people walking in and out and the business movement was very captivating! My food was delicious and the fact this was a bakery I knew it would be good because the bread is made in house! Definitely will be back and this was my second visit!

This is the best sandwich place I have ever been to. I always pick up French bread and Jewish rye that is fresh. A great spot for lunch

Milano bakery and restaurant is always our first stop when we go to Eastern Market. Fresh Italian bread is so good. Delicious baked goods. Always a nice selection of samples on the counter to help you decide what to take home. You have to try the apple muffins. Our family loves them. The restaurant is also a must try. So many offerings, but I can't get ever get past the fresh baked pizza. It's the best! Fresh dough, perfect amount of tasty sauce, cheese and generously covered with your choice of toppings. Yum! Took friends with us today and they enjoyed the bakery and their sandwiches from the restaurant. Have to admit the sandwiches looked really good. Maybe I'll try a sandwich next time. See you again soon!

Stopped in for a loaf of bread-came out with delicious cannoli too! Will try to stop for lunch when we have more time

When the Greek salad revealed one insect, that was not great but when his cousin showed up we were out of there. We were at a window side seat which was also host to critters that had passed on. All of which is a shame because I had heard such great things about this place. Also the counter help was tolerant at best, but friendly? No. Over rated. Over priced.

Fast, diverse , and friendly service. I had the EM Boardwalk Reuben on Rye. Delicious. The bakery and bread ware full of amazing choices. Plenty of seating facing Russell Ave, highly recommend for a quick, delicious lunch. Very clean and recently updated.

Milano Cafe is updating and upgrading their interior. Their bakery is amazing with so many good selections.
