"This restaurant is a Soho institution and whilst it caters to vegetarians it is also popular with meat eaters. Inspired food with global influences, specials chalked on the blackboard always include the popular ‘burger of the day’, served with potato wedges. "Mildreds is a casual, vegan restaurant in Soho that has some great booze-free spritzes on their drinks list. From morning to night, this place is pretty much always busy, but as a back-up they have equally upbeat spots in Camden, Dalston, Covent Garden, and King’s Cross. "When we visited vegetarian restaurant Mildreds, there were adults, on business meetings, eating these nachos. The Soho spot has made chips covered in cheese a perfectly reasonable lunchtime option, even if it involves KPI chat. The slightly spicy, moreish cheese sauce comes in a separate bowl, so instead of cheese dribbling down your hand, you can elegantly dip. The rest of the toppings—sweet, sliced pickled onions and a rich black bean mole—are neat enough to eat with company too. We don’t love that these are basically deconstructed nachos, but they bring it back with that flavourful cheese bowl." - sinead cranna
"Mildred’s is vintage Soho. It’s like your parents, or anyone who talks about the ‘glory days of London’. Don’t worry though, because Mildred’s continues to be a place worth eating at. With locations in Soho, Camden, King’s Cross, and Dalston, you can get their delicious pies, curries, and small plates all over London.
