Mile High Mo's Austin - First Class Food

The fries were solid—not salty and thick—but the gravy fell short of the rich, classic Poutine gravy flavor that I was hoping for, and the cheese curds lacked that signature squeak, leaving them more rubbery than fresh. I really enjoyed the Smashburger—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, it was the standout of the meal. However, the Philly didn’t taste at all like a classic Philly. Prices are okay and there is plenty of air-conditioned seating inside. We ordered at one of the 2 kiosks and an employee brought out our food as it was ready.

We first saw mo’s on IG when a foodie had posted about trying out the cheesesteaks in Austin. To be honest we haven’t been super big on cheesesteaks, but the burgers they featured is what originally caught our eye. We also really liked the name and found out that they import their bread and meat steak from Philly and poutine for their fries from Quebec Canada which is super cool and also made us want to try the cheesesteaks and fries just because of that! We got the fully loaded Steak Philly (1/2 mile) which was about 6-7 inches and it was soooooo much better and more flavorful then the one we had when we were in philly! The seasonings that they use on the meat gives it such a greater depth of flavor! The burgers were also as expected… DELICIOUS!! We got the full mile on both, which meant we had 9oz of black angus beef (2 4.5oz patties). We tried the bacon bomber which was like a sweet and savory bacon egg burger and we also tried the cheese coma which had a katsu style cheese aka deep fried cheese on the burger. We we so impressed with the flavorings of the meat itself! You could literally taste the quality! The fries they have are some of THE BEST we’ve had! We really enjoy a crispy fry and these were double fried giving you that perfect texture! The portions that they give are VERY generous and they live up to the name that they go the extra mile with first class food! Plus we couldn’t skip on dessert! The Texas tornado is exactly that…. A whirl wind of wonder that will twist the taste buds in every direction! Its basically funnel cake fries, topped with cheesecake bites, chocolate chips, chocolate sauce, salted caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Totally a NEED! If you haven’t checked them out, stop waiting and GO!!! They are 100000% worth the trip and the calories!

I love me some burgers and this place delivered! If you like plain meat flavor patties, this place is not for you! Cheese come: The bun-the perfect buttery flavorful bun, flavorfully season meat patty every bite, the fried cheese curds patty-hmm!, the yellow sauce added extra flavor too. Extra meat patty at this time $2 And the fries, I normally eat all those first bc I don't like cold fries but I had to wait for these to cool down and still ate them 10 minutes later. Good flavor: not just salt but more of a seasoned flavor. Extra star for having BBQ sauce for my fries. The two staffed gentlemen that took my order and checked on me, they were so polite and considerate of me as a customer. The only two things negative I would say is the bathroom could be de-ordorized and I would ask for the burger to be drained. No music which can be a plus, since there is music I don't like. Their soda's ingredients were interesting too. Taste good.

First time trying this place. The owner greeted us and asked if it was our first trying the restaurant. After we told him yes, he graciously explained the highlights of his menu and what he recommended. We took his recommendations based on what we loosely knew we wanted. We got the cheese coma burger, chili cheese fries, steak Philly, and 2 drinks for about $46 (after tip). We waited no more than 5 minutes for our food to be ready. Everything was fresh and so flavorful. The portions were HUGE!! Definitely worth what we paid for. We will definitely be back.

Mile High Mo’s is awesome! The sandwiches are big, tasty, and full of flavor. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. Great spot for a quick and satisfying meal. I’ll definitely be back!

The philly steak sandwich is great. I didn’t like the fries that much but the garnishing and flavours were good. The chili fries had a lot of brown beans.

Had the smash burger and it might have been the best burger I’ve had in years. Phenomenal taste, patty was crisped nicely and the SAUCE!? Man their special sauce is delicious The staff is really nice too! We also tried the chili fries on their recommendation- also delicious. Has a nice smokey flavor to it. 10/10 I recommend this spot :)

I throughly enjoyed everything I got here. The lady working didn't speak english but was so sweet and seemed like she was the one cheffing it up too so mad respect bc everything was delectable. I got the smash burger with the mile high mo sauce, side of fries, onion rings and a philly cheesesteak. I enjoyed the light batter on the onion rings but I thought the fries were just a tad bit too salty. The mile high sauce wasn't my favorite, but it was very unique. Ordering system is easy with the Ipads in front with ketchup and togo boxes out as needed. Didn't see any water cups so maybe bring your own water! Could really see this place thriving with its location.

The smash burger is awesome, and the service was the cherry on top. Maybe is was Moe who waited on us, wish I got his name so I could give him a shout out. Very friendly and helpful.

Owner just talks all good but his food quality was low and trash. The fries I ordered like cooked hour ago. Don't waste your money.

this sammy was INCREDIBLE!!! has a really nice spicy kick. the folks working here are super friendly and clearly take pride in serving great food. i don't post reviews often and hardly ever while i'm still at the spot, but just had to. BRAVO!

I came here first time because my friend put us on. It's literally a hidden gem in heart of Austin. The owner is really really nice, welcoming and respectful. If you came here with a bad attitude, I swear you'll leave with a smile on your face. 100% recommended

I ordered from ubereats after I checked the reviews. I was craving a burger so I ordered the fried Oklahoma and the brisket poutine in tiny. It was a pretty good amount of food. The burger was pretty good but I felt that poutine might have been too salty. All I taste was salt when it comes to the poutine. The burger was good but for the price, I felt that five guys would've been a better choice. Maybe I'll try the cheesesteak next time to see if it's better.

We visited today, and while my husband really enjoyed his food, my experience was disappointing. I didn't like the taste of my food, and the service was extremely slow, I regretted every minute spent waiting. After 50 minutes, we were finally served fries, and the Philly arrived another 10-15 minutes later. In total, we wasted over an hour. Yes, the place was packed, but not because it offered anything unique compared to other restaurants; it was simply due to how slow everything was. I was waiting so long that even my feet went numb!

When they say they will make it right, they do! Greeted by Q, the manager with the hugest smile. We had a previous bad experience that was not the fault we believe of the restaurant. The owner immediately reached out and wanted to make it right. NOT many places care enough to do this but they DO! Our meals were cooked perfectly! We both customized our sandwiches and they were perfect! And NOT to be missed is the oh so sweet funnel cake dessert. You must eat it there with the fresh ice cream. It's just the finishing touch. Be prepared to take to go boxes because you get large portions and you want to save for the next meal too.

Love the style of their onion rings. They are lightly battered and crispy with nicely sweet onions. The batter is more of a fish and chips consistency which I prefer over the more breaded style you typically find. Even though I got these delivered, they were still tasty and I devoured the entire portion. I also got the cheesesteak. I regret omitting the jalapeños so I suggest adding that to give it a kick. Also the cheesesteak is kind of messy to eat with the melted cheese so I suggest eating it with a fork.

Great cheesesteaks and poutine in the Austin area! The meats were tender and none of the food felt overly salty. Perfect amount of sauce and cheese on everything !

Poutine was amazing and my Fiance enjoyed his philly cheesesteak a lot. LOTS of cheese on the Philly, which was okay. A bit expensive but it was quality. The ambiance of the place could use some love

I had a nice conversation with the owner/chef, who contacted me and clearly cares a great deal about his product and is interested in understanding criticism. Really if I could have given 3.5 stars I would have so I'm rounding up to 4 for his proactiveness in understand my concerns. The brisket burger is pretty good but I still think it needs some changes to make it great. Anyway props to Mo for reaching out!

Ordered from here from Uber Eats and it was actually very good. I ordered the Quebecois Poutine, and as a Canadian myself, this tasted very legitimate! My only critique would be that the cheese curds should melt a little more/ the temperature was a little cold but I will say it was a late night order and since it was by delivery, I won't hold it against them. Amazing taste and I will recommend this to anyone who wants to have a taste of Canada without having to leave Texas! Extremely quick and efficient service too.

Open until 3 a.m., and perfect for a late night hearty and tasty meal. We split the brisket burger combo - and I am almost speechless. Topped with cheese, pickles, and crispy onions - it is everything you might hope for. Fries with a side of mayo compliment it perfectly. Late night ideal meal found. Unsurprisingly, expect greasy fare, not necessarily high quality - but satisfying for sure.

Perfect late night meal after a night of partying. If you're into to sloppy burgers, this place will be right up your alley. The burgers will help absorb in liquor in your system.

Got a Philly and Poutine to go and it was fine but definitely not what I expected from a Philly and Poutine. Meat was tough and pretty flavorless on the Philly and the fries for the poutine were underdone and the gravy was watered down to the point it was pretty pooled in the bottom of the container. Would I try it again if I was in that neck of the woods? Yeah probably so, I did get it to go at an off time in the afternoon so maybe it was a one-off experience. If I had a choice and didn't mind driving a bit I would definitely go with Jewboy or something like that, much better quality for the money.

This is definitely a late night spot for the nights you might be hungry at 12 am. I tried one of the cheesesteaks, and it was pretty good, although definitely not a light meal to have late at night. The place is new and from what I understood, the owner plans on getting poutine from his business in Canada, which I'm sure will be pretty special. Inside the restaurant, not much to say, typical new small business feel. My complaint would be on the price and size, as it is 11 dollars for a 6 in sandwich. Try it out!

I have nothing but good things to say about Mighty Mo's, which is located right by UT Campus. Staff are friendly, patient and polite. Great service. As for the food-- they offer Philly cheesesteaks, poutine and cheese curds among other things. I've never been to Philly or Canada so I can't comment on how it would measure up to food from there, but I enjoyed it a lot. Is it healthy or fancy? No. Is it delicious? Absolutely. Meaty, cheesy and well-seasoned. I got the tiny combo (Six-inch Sandwich) and could barely finish it. You also really can't go wrong with Mighty Mo's for late night cravings; when was the last time you went to a restaurant in Austin that was open past midnight? Do yourself a favor and go to Mighty Mo's in person; this sort of sauce heavy food is so much better hot and fresh right out of the kitchen; you're going to be disappointed if you're having to tip a Grubhub driver after they've arrived 30 minutes late and the foods gotten soggy and lukewarm. This small business is leagues ahead of any fast food joint in the area. 5/5!

Absolutely fantastic food and was given some extra Fries for free! Can't compare it to a traditional Philly cheese steak as I don't have a good frame of reference for it, but I'll be back! Maybe don't go at 2am on a weekend when all the drunk UT kids are headed home tho!

Came here at midnight for my birthday and had the best experience! They went so hard to make it a fun and special meal for me (and my friends!) have always had great experiences and know that I will continue to. Such nice guys, they're the best!!! Even played a song for my birthday!

My friends and I were in the area and decided to try this new halal smashburger spot we saw on instagram. The owners were welcoming and helpful with explaining menu items and giving suggestions. I tried the fried oklahoma and mighty philly. Both were reallyyy good! They were kind enough to offer us a complimentary funnel cake dessert, which was fresh and delicious. It was the perfect ending to our day out. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try!

Tried Mighty Mo's today on the recommendation from a new transplant from Philadelphia and it was outstanding. Very authentic Philly Cheesesteak using an amoroso roll flown in from Philadelphia. Service was fast and professional. Best Philly Cheesesteak in Austin.

I ordered on door dash in San Marcos( Yelp page isn't up yet). Ordered the regular poutine and was given a tiny. Never got the name of the lady helping me. But she not only gave me a mighty a size bigger she let me keep the old one cannot recommend a better restaurant service. Might fine food as well. Thank you again

Ordered food online, went to pick up the food and it was "not there" even though the food was behind the counter(which I later found out by calling them back and speaking to the manager the next day, the order appeared hours later). Disputed the charge and spoke to them on the phone. They said everything should be fine. The claim never went through and I never got my food. Be careful ordering through google.

$14 for this tiny a$$ sandwich plus whatever tip and delivery fees.... left off all the ingredients but onions.its not even worth the buy one get 1 promo. Just order jersey mikes flavor is way better..... i tried calling to double check this was even the right order and they said this is it

UPDATE: I have again communicated with the owner and have found that communication to be very dissatisfactory. He has been very defensive, not at all willing to accept that there must be some major problems with his restaurant--which I feel confident in saying because I have had several glaringly bad experiences. He also wants to blame GrubHub, which I do not think is at all fair given my other experiences with GH (problems here and there, but nothing this bad or this consistent from the same restaurant). He has made a vague offer, again, to make it up to me, which I do not accept, because I do not want to subject myself to the same frustration again. I mean, I'm just trying to order a meal, and it turns into an ordeal the result of which is that I don't get the meal at all and have to find an alternative. And this has now happened *three* times out of maybe seven or eight times ordering. I have told the owner that I will not order again if I do not have some credible reassurance that he has figured out what the problem is and has dealt with it. I also told him that I will update my review if he chooses to respond in anything other than a superficial and cavalier manner, but in his most recent message he made it clear that he is not willing to do that. What we have here is a big mess of abysmal customer service. -/- I have had very spotty experience with this place. I have ordered from there several times and have found the food to be good, especially the cheese curds. I experienced some unaccountable delays on my first couple of orders and posted about that. The owner responded graciously and made a very decent offer, after which I ordered a couple more times. But then I had another bad experience, and I messaged the owner, but this time he didn't respond. So my impression is that he has given up on providing decent service, and that this place is on its way out. That makes me sad, because the food was good and I want to support small businesses. But I will not order from here again.

Average food, decent fries. I ordered the Mighty Philly, classic OG style with wiz, provolone and American cheese. I figured, if this is their classic, it'll set the pace for everything else on the menu. Sad to say, the most important part--the steak--totally missed the mark. First was the amount of meat, let's just say I left hungry and looked around for more restaurants on the way out. Secondly, it has a flavor I couldn't quite place... chorizo maybe? Don't get me wrong, I can be a fan of chorizo, but on a cheesesteak? Again, not exactly sure what the season was, but it didn't belong on my cheesesteak. To make matter worse, I paid an up-charge to add crispy onions and those were left out and there was hardly any cheese wiz on the sandwich. The one positive was that the fries did come out nice and crispy, but quickly wilted and didn't hold the crunch that most double-fried fries would. Lastly, no diet drinks on hand, so if you're avoiding sugar, you have to drink water.

The burger was delicious! Also, I had an order and the employee at the front was accommodating when he couldn't find my order. This is a chill place run by awesome people! Thank you again!
