We celebrated our daughters 18th birthday today by having a tea party at Milk and Honey. Jennifer and her staff did an outstanding job. They thought of everything and have everything you could possibly need. Jennifer is very accommodating and easy to work with. The venue was beautiful with a stellar presentation of our requested food items. She allowed for us to bring in some music that featured Matt Ellis. Matt brought in a guitarist, violinist, and cellist. They were amazing!

My husband and I used the bakery for our bridal and groom cakes at our wedding and I couldn't be more pleased. We've all been to the wedding where the cake looks nice, but taste can be lacking. However, Milk and Honey made two beautiful cakes that tasted AMAZING. We got so many compliments on both cakes for tasting wonderful and being so moist and delicious. They were wonderful to work with, communicative, and got our cakes delivered to our venue with no issues! I would highly recommend them for wedding cakes!

Hello we paid a very large deposit to have an event at this business 641.00 they accepted our money and booked a date,I would not recommend that you spend your hard earned money here. We had some personal issues come up and Jen was very nice to offer to reschedule, then later I was informed that they were keeping my deposit and not offering there services, also they were not offering any sort of refund whatsoever.i stopped in person to try to resolve the situation and they were very rude.dont spend you money here you will not be happy go somewhere else.

Excellent service and high quality cakes with lots of flavor, also they have the best vanilla bean icing you’ll ever taste. When I went in for cake tasting the gentleman was very polite and truly worked with us to make sure we were getting what we wanted! I haven’t had my wedding yet but just from my experience I have 100% confidence that they’re cakes are going to be just as terrific. I’d recommend them to anyone.

Super accommodating and lovely people who were able to help with me ordering Valentine's Day cupcakes for my partner. I don't live in the United states so I was worried about the logistics but they made the ordering process very simple and easy, which really helped my anxiety.

I can not thank this lovely couple enough!! Not only did my bridal party have my bridal shower here, but they made my beautiful wedding cake as well. The bridal shower was gorgeous with plenty of wonderful treats for all the guests. John, put on a fabulous cake tasting for me and my bridal party. He really listened and took notes on exactly what I wanted the wedding cake to be. I could not be more pleased on how everything turned out. The cake was not only beautiful but tasted amazing. We recieved so many compliments on how wonderful it tasted. We acutally didn't have any left over - if that let's you know how great it really was. They also performed the cake cutting so it was one less thing we had to worry about during the wedding. Thanks again for all you did. Much Love, Necole and Jeff Cox

I knew going in that macarons were pricey, but jeez, $24.00 for a dozen little cookies about the size of a quarter? Presentation was not good. Clear plastic flip top container like you'd get at any burger place...just not styrofoam. Staff nice, cute place but hardly a value. UPDATE: Don't be upset with your staff...I did get a little black box for the two macarons I bought to try myself. :) The dozen were a gift for mother's day and although I had to purchase a different container to put them in, she loved them and was pleased with the gift.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Will never do any business with them ever again! Will never recommend them. When and ate there and food was horrible! Did not even finish it. Then saw they had cake decorating classes coming up so thought that could be fun. Went online and signed up got my confirmation email. Arrived there on Saturday and it was not open. Waited till they were open and called and John answered the phone. Never though someone could be so rude about having a class and no one being there to do the class. Did not even apologize for the inconvenience of driving in from out of town for this “Class” Apparently it was my fault somehow?? But i will never ever do any business with them ever again. I will be sure to let people know what bad food and service they have. Please don’t waste your time going here. It’s not worth it. My dog would not even eat the left overs I brought him from there!!!

Yelp
I believe they only do catering and cake orders now. No lunch being served as was the case in my original review. Check online for their hours and contact information.

Yelp
This is the pre review. When I found out about this place, I popped in to check out the menu and get a couple of sweets. Menu is quite small but looks good and reasonably priced for this kind of place. The variety of sweets ranged between $3 and $4 each. Macaroons looked really good. Got a cupcake and brownie. Both were very good, but it kills me to pay this much for something I can make myself. But maybe mine aren't this good. Shut up, splurge, and enjoy that wonderful sugar rush. We will be back to try lunch and review again. Happy Trails!

Yelp
Visited at noon on a Tuesday - ordered the house salad with onion vinaigrette and spinach mozzarella quiche. Enjoyed the unsweetened ginger pear tea. Finished it off with dreamsicle macaroon. The establishment was clean and food wonderful. If any changes needed to be made - it would be Staff Development. Wait staff were sweet and polite but reached across the table to serve food and drinks. A small thing I know; however, it did come to my attention. I encourage you to take the gal pals and spend time visiting and dining.

Yelp
Lovely place with great, fresh food, friendly and attentive service, and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. This bakery is in what was once a house, so the setting is intimate and warm. They've done a great job converting this place into a warm, inviting spot perfect for both small business lunches as well as a lunch with friends or romantic date. We also ordered a birthday cake that was beautiful and delicious. I highly recommend Milk & Honey! UPDATE: Went back in summer 2018 and it's even better! Their house made salad dressings are fantastic, the quiche is perfect, and the Caprese sandwich was fresh and amazing with, my teenaged daughter claims, the best bacon in the world! We tried a chocolate peanut butter dessert and the macaroons, and all were delicious. Go!!

Yelp
Well, I never got to try the food, because they canceled on me after invites were already ordered for a baby shower I hired them to cater. Owner said, they had a graduation they had to attend, and the lady who books their catering said, it was a wedding they rescheduled. The owner, John is a jerk, and is one of those people that is never wrong. Extremely unprofessional!! So, I would not recommend hiring them to cater an event!! And, I'm sure John will get on here, and bash me for this review, as I've seen him do anytime someone leaves a negative review. Hire them at your own risk!!

Yelp
My first and last experience today. Pros: Very clean, nicely decorated. We were seated immediately. Great quiche! Great flavor. Delicious macaroons. The watermelon ones were yummy! Cons: Food is way overpriced for the amount given. Especially the quiche. There is NO customer service. No refills or anything. We even had a drink spill on our table that was never cleaned up (yes, we asked). The white chocolate raspberry cheesecake was terrible It was literally glued to the plate and frozen. How disappointing for a BAKERY. Not a good experience. I will not be back.

Yelp
Food was bland and cake was disappointing. The atmosphere was not at all charming and the customer service was even worse. Not a fan.

Yelp
Went in for a late lunch. Tried the quiche and some macarons. The quiche was absolutely delicious. The macarons were very cute and tasted good, as well.

Yelp
I ordered a cake for my daughter's graduation.....lemon cake with white icing. It was delicious! Everyone enjoyed it and commented on how moist and flavorful it was. I was so impressed with the decorations - dried lemon slices and such an impressive presentation. Owner was very easy to work with! Highly recommend!

Yelp
So I wanted to try Milk & Honey twice before I gave them a review, and honestly still haven't gotten to try their food. I all fair honesty.. we go for the Macaroons as you can't get them anywhere else in Abilene I have found. The first time we went we got two of each flavor, at the time that was 6 flavors so I bought 12 and paid $24. Very competitive on price. It is a cute little place that looks like a person's home. Small and quaint. The first time we tried the Macaroons...I gotta be honest..I about broke a tooth. Anyone knows anything about macs, they are light airy little pillows of delight. Which these appeared to be. At the time they were new and I was upset about spending $24 plus a possible dentist bill, so I saved the thoughts for a second try. We went back today. We got two each of three flavors. Watermelon, coconut, and strawberry cherry. We did half and spent $12 because I may be a glutton but I'm not stupid. We cautiously bit into the watermelon. My daughter and I...and ...and ....nope. Faked you out on that one. Still crunchy. No. This is not a mac. We are it. The flavor was very good. Refreshing watermelon but crunch. So we nervously picked up the second. Coconut. We even more cautiously...sank our teeth into the most perfect cloud of coconut perfection you could put in your pie hole...or Mac..mouth...whatever. This was good! Perfect even! The Strawberry cherry was just as delish! Surprised! They earned a third begrudging visit! Truly hope they can get the inconsistency issue resolved because those other two made it worth it! Good job!

Yelp
I needed a gluten and dairy free birthday cake and searched the web expecting to not find one in Abilene. Wrong! Milk and Honey Bakery popped up and I called them. They said that was easy and what would I like to have? I ordered a cherry cake with chocolate icing and stressed again the need for seriously being dairy and gluten free. I was reassured that would be no problem. Wow, is it good?! The cake was delicious and easily flew past the Celiac's body test with flying colors and she can detect any hint of gluten in anything with instant illness. Was it well priced? I don't know. It was delicious and it was safe for my Wife which made a very happy birthday for both of us.

Yelp
Came here today for some macarons! I got the almond-lavender macarons and the coffee macarons! They were very good and the guy working there was very nice! I highly recommend this bakery! I also love how close it is to both ACU and HSU! :)

Yelp
Delicious!! Our team of seven had a small working lunch here, and everyone was convinced they had the tastiest lunch. Try the unsweet ginger pear tea!(They also offer a discount on dessert if you order an entree.) :)

Yelp
I tried this restaurant twice, both times disappointed. 1. It is clean, an I appreciate that. The staff are very nice, but not well trained. I know this is a young couple, but they need to invest in some training. 2 the macaroons are just delish, these have not disappointed on either visit. One visit I had the vanilla lavender, devine, this trip pistachio, delightful. No the bad. 1. While clean, very dated, but this could change with time. 2. SLOW service, and not timely, both times had trouble getting drinks refilled, had to hunt down a waitress. Or just go with out. 3. No quiche. Both times tried to get quiche, once at noon! If you have a dish that good, make MORE of it and let that be you selling point. One quiche will not last your service. 4. The pork on the first day was dry as a death, as was the chicken this visit. If you must serve precut smoked meats, hold them in a bit of broth to keep them from drying out. Restaurant 1.0.1. 5. My tea was the colour of dirty water and NO flavour. The sweet tea was dark and looked great, but not everyone wants all the sugar. Invest in more than one tea bag for a service. NO COFFEE! Your a bakery, coffee is a must, good coffee. 6. Not a good value at this time. Hopefully things will improve, I hope so , I would love to see another good restaurant choice in Abilene. Skip the lunch, do desserts. .

Yelp
Will never be a customer here. They were closed several times during scheduled hours. When I wrote a review on their Facebook page stated the issue; they responded in a very rude, accusatory, and immature manner.

Yelp
Great little bakery for a light lunch! Limited menu options but affordable. I enjoyed my sausage quiche, and the raspberry vinaigrette is delish! Their specialty teas are unique but rather tasty. The salad would be better if the spinach was washed. Dirt salad is not lovely. The waitstaff is very sweet and will do better with more experience, so go visit them!

Yelp
This is completely my favorite restaurant now in the entire town- in a place that it's so hard to get culinary excellence- this is an oasis in a desert. A lot of people won't appreciate the simplicity and the beauty of this European style cafe- but I had the best meal of my life there. The owner and his wife are sweet people who designed this place to be completely about savoring your food. The portions are perfect and every bite has some new subtle taste to offer. I've been to a lot of restaurants before but I had never taken so long to eat something simply because I wanted to savor the smokiness of the chicken in my chicken pot pie sandwich. It came with a side of Butternut squash soup that was real soul food but wasn't heavy on the stomach at all. The ambience is so sweet and quaint- it IS in an old renovated home- but I believe it gives you an at home feel during the cafe experience. I love how simple things were and the tastes of the food were subtle- something that is hard to find nowadays. I highly suggest giving this place a try. Today was my very first experience there but I left giggling because of how amazing the experience was. The macaroons were beyond perfection and the rose water they had was so good I bought two bottles of it. I cannot wait to come back to Abilene simply to try out Milk and Honey one more time.
