First time here was on a Saturday, and the music was JAMMING! Our entire table thoroughly enjoyed flashing back. We asked if someone created the playlist and they said it was the Mary J. Blige station on Pandora.
But, you're coming here to eat, not dance.
During my first visit (I went back two days later), the table ordered the honey biscuits, deep fried salmon hash, RumChata french toast, and the fried catfish and grits.
This was my first time having fried salmon, and it was divine! It wasn't overcooked and the hash was a nice compliment.
The catfish was catfish (if you know, you know). I've had better grits though.
But the best part of the meal were those biscuits (at least the first time around). They were fresh out the oven hot and just melted in your mouth.
Initially, we all were going to order margaritas, but we wanted to swap out the Jose Cuervo with another tequila (cause we grown, grown). When the server informed us it would be an additional $18, we all passed and went with the peach mule. It is never that deep.
When I went back on Monday, the food experience was totally different. This time, I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese, honey hot chicken wings and the biscuits. The eggs were way overcooked both times (cause I sent them back), the wings needed to be fried about 3 minutes longer and sauced more, and the biscuits were not fresh.
Would I recommend this spot? Absolutely, but the food just needs to be consistent.
