Milk SF is a wonderful new cafe that opened up right by four barrel, thus providing the community another lovely option! The coffee is excellent - I went for the maple iced latte to get just a touch of sweet - and my friend got the iced Americano. The vibe was great with plenty of interesting art. And great service! Would 5/5 recommend this place next time you’re in the Mission!

Google
Cute cafe, dropped in solely cuz I read they carry Boichik bagels! Fyi they keep them frozen (and toast them to order) so if you’re looking for a fresh untoasted Boichik bagel you still gotta trek out to Berkeley. If you enjoy toasted bagels you’ll love this spot! And they use a really high quality cream cheese. Got two bagels w/ cream cheese and a 16oz pb cup nitro latte that they make in house $19 total. The flavors change on the nitro and they offer two versions, one with whole milk and the other with oat milk. Staff was helpful and kind, and all the cute knickknacks they sell are locally made.

Google
Super delicious bagels from Boichik and other great food. Coffee isn’t third wave, it’s queer-wave, in this ultra queer-friendly space.

Google
Ngl wasn’t a huge fan of the coffee, however, the bagel sandwich (the werks) was great. Would be happy to go there again for it! Also, a pretty unique atmosphere that’s worth a stop.

Google
Soo excited to welcome Milk to the neighborhood! The coffee is tasty with lots of different variations. Love this artistic, colorful and inclusive cafe with many vegan and gluten-free treats too; options like this just signals that this isn’t just about being a queer friendly and open space, it’s for everyone.

Google
Nice place to hang out. Good iced latte; however, no sugar-free flavors available. Smoothie was quite good. Vegan BLT, not so much.

Ty Wise

Google
Delicious breakfast sandwich (had the baby trans with bacon) and really good coffee and smoothies. Chill atmosphere and the folks working are really friendly.

Google
Amazing!! My girlfriend and I got the marshmallow lattes iced with the vegan breakfast sandwich. SO GOOD. Service was wonderful and the atmosphere is so welcoming and has so much character. We can’t wait to come back! 🏳️‍🌈🫶🏻

Yelp
Still delivering solid food options and drinks. Have to mention though that the English muffins are dry. Appreciate the inviting atmosphere. I really feel welcomed here every time I come in. Service is friendly and kind. Sad that they had to let go of their outdoor space.

Yelp
I got an ube latte that didn't have much of an ube flavor at all, and the server did not have any more lids even though it was the beginning of the day. The servers were nice but I just don't think the cafe was well prepared for the morning shift that day, unfortunately. Also the ube latte was approximately $10, whereas you can go down the street and get a more reasonably priced drink with more flavors. Hard pass here :(

Yelp
Great space for coffee and community! Milk SF not only has fantastic coffee but it's a wonderful space for the queer community. The space is filled with queer decor and art and is very welcoming. They also sell various goods like pins, clothes, mugs, etc. Be sure to check their weekly events!

Yelp
i feel like this is the sort of unabashedly queer space that Valencia St needs. in addition to excellent sandwiches and drinks, they also sell quirky gifts and apparel from local artists! there are about two outdoor tables and a smattering of indoor tables and couches that feels like someone's mismatched living room (in a good way). the service was a little chaotic at noon on a sunday (someone stole?? my friends bagel but they remade him the same one) but the food was worth the wait. they serve Boichik bagel sandwiches so it's one of the best bagels you can get in SF though the composition is different than what you would get at boichik (more veggies, less lox). i had one of the best golden milk lattes here and my friend said his matcha latte was excellent too. the dirty ube latte didn't really taste like ube but is really tasty if you like sweet drinks.

Yelp
Once upon a time, a colorfully compact place like this would've been a given in the Castro or on Polk where the historic gay meccas were in the city. But on Valencia? Just shows you that LGBTQ is everywhere and more importantly, anywhere. That's what makes the name so essential as Harvey would've loved it. I just happened to be walking by this supremely queer coffee spot and it brought a genuine smile to my face. I entered to immerse myself in the muted flamboyance of the decor. Huge portraits of bigger-than-life local celebs like Heklina and Peaches Christ hung on the olive walls, and oversized leather couches lent a particular warmth that was complemented by the $6.75 Large Iced Oat Chai Latte I ordered, which turned out to be a delightful quencher on a balmy day (photo: https://bit.ly/37uIeBv). They offer a lunch menu of salads, sammies, and bagels & schmears. The only thing that was missing was the full throttle sound of the Weathergirls on the muzak. OK, I may be too old school. COFFEE - 5 stars...flavorful coffee drinks for the masses AMBIANCE - 5 stars...loved it SERVICE - 5 stars...very kind and attentive TOTAL - 5 stars...Milk for our times RELATED - Exploring the Mission? Yelp
Super cute shop. So many unique items to buy for yourself or would make great gifts. Nice tall ceilings so the noise isn't overwhelming. Drinks were made with love and came out very nicely. I also order a sandwich and it was super filling

Daniella J.

Yelp
I just stumbled across this place while I was working in the area and so happy that I did! This place has super fun decor, a cool shop, good tasting coffee drinks, and now an english muffin I'm addicted to. Staff was very friendly and loved the vibe! Can't wait to come back :)

Kevin L.

Yelp
We moved nearby right as Milk SF was getting ready to open, and it really is the queer coffee shop we'd hoped it would be! Boichik bagels with a variety of shmears, so best bagels in the nation (according to the New York Times, no less) and without the wait in Berkeley. Lots to peruse while you wait for your order: zines, ceramics, and plenty of art. Solid variety of cozy seating. They seem to share a parklet with Glam-a-rama, and there are definitely drag shows out front.

Arun K.

Yelp
Awesome queer space and great tasting coffee. Really like the antique environment and the staff is always super friendly. I have to dock a star just because the food does take a while and the menu is pricey.

Yuuga T.

Yelp
Good drinks, and decent food. Maple latte is pretty good. Great people running the place. Decor is queer AF

Sachiyo S.

Yelp
I order matcha latte that's made my day. It was smooth bitter and not too sweet. Highly recommended!!!!

CJ P.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, but it was awful. Conceptually, a fun hangout but it's totally lacking in execution: the food and drinks are bad, if you're patient enough to weather the 20 minute waits for a simple order, somehow the iced coffee tastes dusty, it's just not a good experience.

Hannah B.

Yelp
Great coffee, great good- very cute little queer space in San Francisco. Go here to work every week, right on valencia

Raime S.

Yelp
Would recommend the oat chai latte! They also have WiFi available which is great if you want to chill and get some work done

Naina S.

Yelp
5/5 The first time I went I loved it so much I went again within the same weekend! They are Queer Friendly and have vegan options! They also do NOT charge extra for oat milk so I automatically love them. Ambiance: 5/5 They love expression and being unapologetically themselves. I love how they decorated their inside. Lots of seating to sit, but not many tables though. It's a dark vibe and I love the wall art. Reservations: - Not applicable, just come and pick up! Staff: 5/5 The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They also know what they are doing and suggested the best combo of a bagel and spread for me when I asked! Items Ordered: - Lox w Everything Bagel (5/5): The lox tasted great (they also offer a vegan lox!) and the chive spread tasted awesome with this. - Everything Bagel w Jalapeno spread (5/5): Absolutely love the jalapeno spread, it just slaps. - Banana Matcha Latte (5/): Such a unique flavor combo that I haven't seen anywhere else before I loved it together! I always get this now when I go. Pricing: 4/5 They are a bit on the pricier side but honestly I love supporting them. Go, go, go!

Andrew R.

Yelp
Boooo literally waited 30 MINUTES for 1 bagel sandwich. Place was empty. Half way through they asked if sourdough was alright... like what? Ended up cancelling the order. Wish I could give negative stars

Fran D.

Yelp
I ordered a dirty chai marshmallow latte. It tasted really grossly sweet. I still drank it because it was like $7.50. After I got my drink, it was fun to look around the shop because of the art and trinkets. That's about it. Also, why do they charge almost $15 for a bagel???

David Y.

Yelp
LOVE MILK SF!!! Great food, amazing vibes, bagels, sandos, slimy babies, you name it. Came during an open mic poetry slam which was super dope and weird too.

Paul C.

Yelp
Great addition to the neighborhood, especially after Carlin's closed across the street and a few of the other storefronts nearby never seem full realized. There's a friendly, fun atmosphere with lots of seating. I popped in on their first Monday open (ever) and grabbed one of these famed Boichik bagels. The menu is primarily sandwiches and drip coffee-based Solid cafe au lait, will defo have this on the rotation as a place to meet friends and colleagues for a mid-day coffee and catch-up. Looks like they're doing a fun Christmas bazaar of local merchants on 12/18/2021, too - I plan to swing by.

Britain W.

Yelp
Loved this cafe. A homage to LGBTQ+ culture. Wonderful artwork and great menu options. The staff was super nice too!

Helen L.

Yelp
Ok i understand why the bagel is so good. Chewy and crunchy. I had the sesame with vegan smear ($7.01). Maybe i'm just hungry. I devoured it. This is a place to be accepted for sure. Pretty art works. I liked the ice cream with the pills. The photos of pretty drag queens. I was eyeing on the vegan coffee cake. Wonderful couches to relax and sip some nice hot drinks on these cold days.

Yelp
Milk SF is a queer, neighborhood cafe, located on Valencia Street in the Mission District. Milk SF has a large open lobby featuring local art hanging on the green walls, which are accented by the rainbow staircase. The cafe offers a variety of coffees and teas, along with pastries and breakfast sandwiches. The bagel sandwich was full of veggie goodness and toasted to perfection. Staff is extremely personable and friendly, even offering treats to our dog. The cafe hosts a variety of events and was featuring a holiday boutique market during our visit. We didn't try the coffee so verdict is still out, until our next visit.

Natalia G.

Yelp
Wanted to love this place because i live around the corner.. then i paid $14+ for a large drip coffee and a plain bagel with cream cheese!! almost had a heart attack at the cash register. PLAIN coffee too, not even an espresso-based drink. Pain!!!

Douglas A.

Yelp
When I heard that MILK SF was opening a queer coffee shop in my neighborhood I was super excited! It was a bit disappointing that they ran into red tape and I had to wait a bit before they opened, but it was certainly worth waiting for. They are more than an asset to the neighborhood, they are an asset to the City! It's a cool place to hang out, and the staff are super friendly! They are welcoming and remember who you are and what you like. I have been there a few times for special events, they are so well done that they draw a large crowd. It's fun people, and good events. You should definitely go!

Yelp
Great space -- more a lounge than coffee house vibe. Don't plan to camp with your law books and lap top on a table all day. It's a sit and chat kind of place where a sole person like me may choose to plop onto a velvet sainting couch -- artfully -- in the window and write a rapturous review while enjoying a rhubarb soda made with house-crafted syrup. I was also wishing I'd tried one of the manny types of small batch artisan crafted pastries from various woman owned or queer vendors. Politically conscious decolonized coffees, thought provoking art work including tons of photos of all kinds of Queer people doing all kinds of queer things -- you'll definitely want to leave ALL the toxic patriarchy at home, because it will just shrivel and transform into something nurturing inside this welcoming space. I've only had the oat milk nitro cold brew (yum) and the rhubarb soda so far. Bathroom is super large, super clean, and has a giant mirror so you can check your wig going in and coming out. They like to give samples!

David P.

Yelp
This place was so cool! They had a ton of options on the menu, I got the everything bagel with cream cheese, a berry smoothie, and an iced coffee. The bagel was unreal, no complaints

Sag A.

Yelp
Bleh. Too many rumors of racism and sexual harassment make it hard to justify spending money at this place. I've had my own experience with the quality of their food, coffee, and service and it was pretty awful. The combination of these things means I'll never go back.

Vu D.

Yelp
Got a matcha latte here and they delivered. Staff is friendly and super speedy. Clean bathroom. The window is open in the bathroom and sometimes people are in the alley so be mindful of that.

Alisha K.

Yelp
Such a sweet place! The staff are friendly, drinks are great, and artwork is empowering and fun. So glad this cafe is around!

Nicole C.

Yelp
Such a wonderful atmosphere and AMAZING bagels! Everyone was super sweet and welcoming :)

Maggie D.

Yelp
Do not go here. It took 35 minutes to get a simple bagel with cream cheese when there was no line and more than enough people working. They got my other order wrong and I ended up canceling it and asking for a refund because i was afraid how much longer i would have to wait. I'm glad i did because the bagel wasn't even good and the sandwich was probably going to be much worse. Also everything was way overpriced.

Kaz D.

Yelp
very cute queer shop that not only sells small bites and coffee but also has cool gay merchandise and beautiful artworks on the wall. Loved my custom bagel sandwich, it was delicious.

Jamie W.

Yelp
Large, colorful space with the nicest baristas in the city. Their iced latte or iced chai always hits the spot. I always come here before or after I get my hair cut next door at Glamarama!

sarah m.

Yelp
Literal earth angels work here! Rushed down on a 10 min. work break for a recharge iced coffee (Delish ) and a snack.. on my frantic way out the door, I dropped said vegan hand pie (also Delish) all over the floor (you're welcome tiny shop chihuahua)... The barista behind the counter kindly shooed me on my way and said she would walk over a replacement instead of making me wait. That's top notch costumer service right there! Thank you Milk SF you have a customer for life!

Colleen M.

Yelp
Been dreaming about having a dedicated queer space in SF to hang out that's not centered around alcohol - I think this place could be it! Like the Planet in the L Word but not TERFy :D The coffee: don't really understand what "nitro" coffee is but I'm a believer - it really delicious and smooth. For the other coffee drinks, I think I was offered every type of alternative milk that exists (coconut, hemp, oat, etc. etc.) The food: they bring in boichik's bagels from the east bay - best bagel in the country according to New York Times and it did not disappoint The space: beautiful, airy, high ceilings with a bunch of queer art and merch for sale. They have couches inside and a cute lil rainbow parklet. Staff was also super friendly! I'll definitely be back!

Lauren T.

Yelp
Go for the excellent coffee. Stay for easy access to delicious boichick bagels in SF! Such a great addition to the neighborhood.

Dom R.

Yelp
Hello, needed concept, needed idea, needed space for queer people, but $8 for a bagel? WHAT! I'm sorry, but the prices here contribute to why it can have very empty mornings and why I only go once in a blue moon. I wish I could come more but I can't justify the prices, then they ask for a tip.

Karmacita M.

Yelp
Well the atmosphere seems cool, ultimately the food was absolutely disgusting. My friend and I had different options, and the flavor and combination was disgusting for $48 in San Francisco. This place will not last long. I can't even explain more than this except to just avoid it. They have no idea what they're doing as it comes to food and that's not enough just to be an establishment catering to a community at hasta also actually offer value

Rachel L.

Yelp
Great coffee shop. I tried the steak sandwich, which is tasty but not tender enough to bite with your teeth so the sandwich kinda falls apart. Bread is amazing though. Everything sourdough? Yes. Great interior decor and good vibe.

Mariah K.

Yelp
Their nitro cold brews are delicious! Milk also has cute items for sale you can browse while waiting for your order.

Gail J.

Yelp
Milk is everything I want in a coffeehouse! This vibrant, fairly recent addition to Valencia Street has good coffee, a varied and interesting menu of food choices, a comfortable and clean place to hang out for a bit, and very friendly people. Oh - and lots of fun art! I may just have to become a regular.

Jay S.

Yelp
Love this place. The peeps working behind the counter are super friendly and super helpful! Great coffee, food and merch! Love the artwork on the walls as well!

Ruth C.

Yelp
This review is for the breakfast sandwich with extra avocado, vegetables etc... (deluxe?). It lacked seasoning except for the balsamic-drenched bread on one side. The egg itself and the avocado also could have used some salt and pepper. I really wanted to like this place but there wasn't much appeal to the sandwich. Maybe the bagel is the thing to get here because Boichik bagels are great.

Preeti A.

Yelp
Everything was good except for some reason the person pushed our order behind a few other people who came after us. Forgot to make our coffee and we reminded them 2 times. Made the wrong coffee one time.

Susanne F.

Yelp
Gorgeous space, delicious coffee, great snacks, and the friendliest baristas in the Bay. Lots of room to feel covid comfortable inside (plus super high ceilings!) and a cute rainbow parklet outside. Come for the coffee, stay for the vibes (and to pet Wednesday the Dog).

Thomas L.

Yelp
Super quirky interior, and very pet friendly. I really enjoy their iced lattes, and they can serve them either caffeinated or not. Their bagel sandwiches are delish, especially the tuna melt. Everything is reasonably priced, and the service here is always full of great energy. Checkout the art work on the wall!

Danny T.

Yelp
love the queer vibe but don't come here for espresso drinks. they charge $4 for an americano made of a room temp pour from a pitcher labeled "spro" plus some hot water. day 1 of barista training teaches that an espresso shot is "dead" in less than a minute, but apparently they brew big batches of "espresso" every few hours. too bad because everything else about this place is great!

Ian R.

Yelp
Great coffee, great tea, great bagels. Quality food at a reasonable price with a fun, relaxed vibe.

Daniel P.

Yelp
This place is great - the food is yummy, the decor is fun, and the staff are very friendly
