"A line forms outside Milktooth every weekend. The restaurant, nationally famous for its daytime menus, is still at the top of its game, made even more impressive by the kitchen team’s commitment to source ingredients nearby and patronize other small businesses. The menu changes seasonally, but the options always include some type of waffle, Dutch pancakes, grits, and fried chicken. While you wait for your meal, order one of the excellent pastries and something from the creative coffee menu. The open dining room and unique tables, chairs, and utensils make the experience even more fun. Keep an eye out for pop-ups from other local chefs, limited-run menu items, and other creative one-offs from owner Jon Brooks, who has developed some notoriety for experimenting." - Mike Gillis

"Brunch is having its heyday. Just ask Jonathan Brooks and his team at the Hoosier State’s most buzzed-about spot. Their modern diner is the best reason to get out of bed in the morning, offering daytime specialties that put ol’ eggs benny to shame. Bruschetta Dutch baby pancake, chilled cantaloupe soup, and grilled chicken thighs with gochugaru sauce are only a few of the selections that guests can look forward to. If that’s not enough, the restaurant’s dedicated coffee and alcohol program provides a jolt to start each day." - Jeffy Mai

The Dining Grandpa

Milktooth, an upscale diner located on Virginia Ave, offers a unique twist on breakfast and brunch. Parking is limited, as the small lot is shared with other businesses. We arrived around 10:30 AM, and the place was already buzzing with activity. The menu is relatively small and leans toward inventive, unconventional dishes rather than classic breakfast staples. While I would have preferred more straightforward American breakfast options, I ended up ordering the grilled cheese (without the egg) and a side of fries. The sandwich was incredibly rich and decadent—so much so that the fries weren’t really necessary. The ladies ordered the Savory Dutch Babe, which was just okay, not particularly memorable. We also sampled a few other items: the biscuit with pepper jelly, grits, and slab bacon, along with two desserts—the Pistachio Cardy and Sticky Toffee. The atmosphere is lively, with community tables and an open kitchen. Service was decent but on the slower side. Overall, while the food had its standout moments, I found the menu a bit limiting and overpriced, especially if you’re looking for more traditional breakfast choices.

This popular brunch spot has generated quite a buzz, but after two visits, I'm left feeling a bit underwhelmed. While the food is certainly satisfactory, the price point doesn't quite match the level of culinary delight. Parking and seating are limited, so be prepared for a potential wait. Service is efficient and the food arrives promptly, making it ideal for a quick bite, but perhaps not the best choice for a leisurely brunch with friends. Ultimately, this spot might appeal to those with ample disposable income, but budget-conscious diners may find better value elsewhere.

Went on a Saturday Morning with my Father who never been. The experience was good vibes and the food was good also. Just a friendly reminder they take a 20% tip upfront, I get it every one wants to be paid. At the same time I did not have the truest of best times. Total cost 70$ for a simple Breakfast

Amazing food. Simple yet delicious. The grilled cheese my son had was very very good. There was nothing bad here. Need to figure out how to get my son to stop drinking black cold brew lol 🤢

A really nice brunch/lunch spot in fountain square. The burger was delicious! I really liked how it was served on Texas toast. I also tried the savory baby pancake and grilled cheese and they were both good. Service was a little slower, but it seemed like a crazy morning. Overall, food was fantastic.

Service outstanding. Waiter was really helpful in making order recommendations. Food - tasty and well prepared. Portion size was good. Sourdough waffle and side of eggs - perfect. Savory Dutch baby pancake - waiter noted elote (Mexican street corn) meets pancake. Very good. Burger - well spiced and prepared. Smoked turkey sandwich - huge and excellent. Not a fan of the coffee but food is memorable.

My girlfriend and I came here for brunch for our anniversary. We got here five minutes before they opened and there was a line of around 20 people waiting. Their very limited parking with a single handicap spot was full so we parked down the street. The atmosphere was loud and we were not able to have a conversation. The tables were very close to one another and it was difficult to navigate through the restaurant and we could hear everything the other tables were saying. We had looked at the menu before we went and had an idea of what we wanted to get. I wish I had done more research about portion sizes because we felt like the prices for our portions were outrageous. The food lacked flavor or originality. The best thing we ended up getting was the $4.50 focaccia; my grits with added egg and bacon were flavorless and had only a small amount of cheese and were way too soupy. The bacon they are advertising as “thick cut slab” is just pork belly that also has no flavor and was difficult to chew. My girlfriend ordered the sweet dutchbaby, which was burnt on the outside and still doughy on the inside. The beignets were small and hard and not done well. We both had cocktails that are very small and not worth $10 a piece, but tasted fine. A meal for two people ended up being close to $100 ($97.45) with their added 20% gratuity. Very disappointed because I had heard good things about this place but will certainly not be returning.

This is a fantastic spot for breakfast! I had the waffles with eggs, and they were incredibly delicious, made from scratch. The customer service was excellent, and the outdoor seating near downtown Indy was lovely.
