Great coffee and wonderful brunch options! Their Turkish eggs are fantastic! Also was nice to have a different kind of beans from the generic small ones.. thoroughly enjoyed our lunch would defo recommend albeit it gets very busy on weekends so may have to wait a little.. only let down was the home made lemonade which was very bland but other than that great experience everytime 🤌🏻

First time visiting this place for late breakfast as we wanted to try Welsh dishes. We didn’t book a table but they were very accommodating and found us a table for two. I ordered bacon, cockles and laverbread on toast and it was very good. I will definitely return and would recommend to try.

Serious scran. The real deal. Ordered the Milkwood breakfast and each piece of food on the plate was banging. The standout for me were the hash browns, which were the crispiest I've ever experienced. I exited here with a full stomach and left behind a clean plate, knowing that one day I'd be back.

Been here several times. We always love the food and service is consistently brilliant, however today in particular was really busy, but Lille was attentive, kind and was still smiling and chatty despite the rush. Food and drinks came quickly and we didn't feel rushed at all. Overall Lille made sure we had not just a lovely breakfast but a thoroughly enjoyable experience today. Delicious food and great service. They were able to accommodate our party of 7 adults and a child very quickly on a Sunday morning. Brilliant food and a variety of options; coffee was great!

We had a delicious birthday breakfast here. Each breakfast choice was incredible, but we missed the Specials board, so we'll have to go again soon.

My boyfriend and I visited cardiff last week. We decided to go to Milkwood for breakfast, as we had been recommended to give it a try. My boyfriend had the breakfast bun, and I had a full English breakfast. The food was amazing, and the chef brought our food out to us. We would definitely recommend it to others and when we go back to Cardiff we will be going here again. Lovely staff, great food 👌 😋

I may have finally found my Cardiff brunch spot. Milkwood in Pontcanna absolutely nails it. Big bright space with loads of natural light, retro gold signage and a buzzing, friendly atmosphere. Walk-ins only, but we got seated straight away even with the weekend crowd. There is seating inside, cosy corners at the back and plenty of space outside if the Welsh sun decides to show up. The Milkwood Breakfast is no joke. Sausage, bacon, poached eggs, toast, crispy hash browns, roasted tomato and buttery mushrooms, plus I added extra halloumi and garlic mushrooms. It nearly defeated me, but totally worth it. Big hearty portions, everything cooked properly and the ingredients actually taste fresh. The menu’s stacked with tempting options and there are plenty of veggie and vegan friendly choices too. I kept seeing the buttermilk chicken pancakes landing on other tables so they’re firmly on my list for next time. The drinks? Game-changing. Best iced latte I’ve had since landing in Cardiff. Smooth, balanced and exactly what my caffeine-deprived self needed to rejoin society. Their iced tea also knocked it out of the park. Super refreshing, fragrant and ideal after a good stomp through Pontcanna’s parks. Staff were lovely, efficient, and made the whole experience feel easy. Bonus points for being easy on the eye too, just an observation. Between the cracking food, chilled community vibe and proper coffee, Milkwood’s officially my new go-to.

After reading excellent reviews about Milkwood, I ventured here on my one night in Cardiff. It did NOT disappoint! It was amazing! Ambiance/service: It is a very small place but is cozy and nice. There is a tiny and cute bar and the staff is very nice. But because it is small I would recommend reserving ahead of time. My server was very helpful in describing the dishes. Food: To start, I had a Cornish crab and potato rosti with a mustard leaf and chili. Sooo yummy and the crab was super fresh. Then, I had the spiced quail with chicory and red walnut pesto. Delicious! Next, I had the braised ox cheek with smoked pomme purée and Parmesan. Really really good. I also had a side of green beans that were made with garlic and lemon. Simple, but the best green beans I've ever had! Finally, I had a dessert of elderflower jelly, greengage (a European plum), vanilla ice cream, and biscotti. It was delicious! But I also loveeee elderflower so you definitely need to like that to have that dish. Overall, the food was excellent. I wish I could fly back to Cardiff to have it again!

Fantastic restaurant, meal was amazing, superb wine list and impeccable and friendly service and very reasonable. We skipped starters, which I'm now regretting but there will be a next time, and went straight to the mains. I had the brace of quail and my wife had the lamb which were both delicious. We followed this with the chocolate mousse and chocolate and almond torte which were excellent. We drank the Guy Allion Pinot Noir which was light and smooth so a perfect accompaniment to the meal. We will definitely be returning to Milkwood
