LA’s Vibrant Al Fresco Outdoor Dining Setups Could Be in Jeopardy | Eater LA

"Permanently closed, Mil Bakery — part of In Hospitality's group — was where pastry chef Jiyoon Jang made beautiful cookies, breads and other pastries with Korean flavors inside the All Good Things shop and via pop-ups across the Southland; Jang is now returning to operating as a pop-up home baker for a time." - Matthew Kang

The 15 Best Breakfast Burritos in Orange County | Eater LA

"Potentially the most under-appreciated spot on this list, Mill Bakery is a no-frills panaderia on the edge of Santa Ana and Costa Mesa that also serves breakfast burritos. Burritos come with protein, eggs, cheese, and refried beans all snuggled inside a flour tortilla, perfect for eating (carefully) while on the way to work. The chorizo option when combined with the refried beans is probably the most popular, but for that real throwback option, get the salchicha (beef hot dog) and egg burrito." - Sean Vukan

Google
The breakfast burrito is amazing. I usually do not like beans in my breakfast burrito but I just went for it and was not disappointed at all.

Cheryl L.

Google
Take our breakfast burritos are really good. The service is excellent, fast, and friendly. Love the carrot juice.

Austin M.

Google
Got a chicken mole empanada and it was absolutely divine, will definitely be going back for more.

Jason D.

Google
This place was good back in the day. Recently stopped by for a breakfast burrito, and to my surprise, both the quality of food and service was beyond poor. It's highly disappointing. DO NOT RECOMMEND. ZERO STARS

Jennifer P.

Google
Stopped by the bakery this morning ordered a ham and cheese croissant... they gave me one with jalapeños?!?! They didn't even ask. Jalapeños rip up my stomach. My mouth was on fire! They didn't event tell me how much it was, assumed I knew. 3 ladies poor service. I understand thr morning rush but don't ruin someone's breakfast. Never coming back.

John P.

Google
Greatest breakfast burrito on planet earth. Hands down. Everything was cooked perfectly. The tortilla was incredible, eggs fluffy and velvety, and awesome re fried beans. It was the perfect temperature to eat right away. I was blown away by how awesome this burrito was.

Jacqueline R.

Google
So unfriendly. One of the worst experiences in my life. Literally, the lady that did my burrito threw it at me on the counter. If u dont like your job than dont work there. Simple.

james V.

Google
Best bread shop in orange county. Also sell great handmade breakfast burritos made to order none of that frozen microwave stuff.

Yelp
I guess the days of sub $10 breakfast burritos are almost gone. The menu price of the bacon burrito here is now 9.95. It's a solid burrito though. It is not gigantic. Egg is #1 ingredient. Bacon is crunchy and evenly dispersed. Beans are perfect - homemade and just enough to add flavor and substance. Jack cheese for richness. It's kind of like a homemade burrito. Filled and then slightly flattened by the flattop on both sides. Pretty much how mine are at home. The salsa on the side is fresh and has a little heat but not too much. The dozens of delivery drivers and gardeners that come by for coffee and Mexican pastries seem to appreciate those items. They look great - just like the poster of artisanal Mexican pastries on the wall. Atmosphere is clean and orderly with friendly, bilingual staff. 3% credit card surcharge but debit is free.

Yelp
This is a great spot to pick up some delicious pan dulce and home style breakfast burritos. The inside is small but busy even early in the morning. On the weekends make sure to come by before 8 am or the majority of the bread will be sold out. Don't skip out on the breakfast burritos either because they're flavorful, hearty, and reasonably priced while also providing that home made touch.

Yelp
Wow! What a great local breakfast spot! We had delicious breakfast here along with coffee and juice. The service was incredible! Very friendly and open. Felt like we were in a family kitchen. The burrito was amazing. Fresh made and made to order. We love supporting local businesses! Thank you Mill Bakery!

Justine F.

Yelp
I would not recommend this place. You will be met with a lot of attitude. The women here are huge haters that give you dirty looks and slam things around. It's a huge shame because I used to bring my family here, but I refuse to pay to get treated poorly and management won't do anything about the poor customer service. The gentlemen that work here are amazing though.

Yelp
The butter croissant torta with ham, queso fresco, avocado was delicious! They have freshly squeezed orange juice and the pan looked fresh and warm. Breakfast burrito was also yummy. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
My favorite place to get a yummy breakfast bacon burrito!! The owner there is so kind and helpful!
google avatar

Yelp
Good food! Good service! Nice ladies. Attentive. Fast. Very pleasant atmosphere. I grabbed my breakfast burrito. And left at 6:15 am. Definitely be back here.

Yelp
Found this place while googling best breakfast burritos Orange County via Eater. I love that they add refried beans to the burritos giving it a creamy like texture. I enjoyed the burrito so much I came back the next day and ordered one of every meat I enjoy. I am usually not a fan of ham and they gave me that by mistake instead of the chorizo and wow it was amazing. I enjoy their salsa as well it packs a punch. I tried the: Chorizo Bacon Ham Hotdog Sausage And ham torta was fire The place gets busy in the morning and they serve the usual Mexican pastries and regular donuts. I read the burritos are made to order so I usually just call them in. Staff is super nice

Yelp
Tried this place on a whim today. Got their egg and chorizo torta + avocado, and it was so...comforting and good. It felt like something my mom would throw together from the ingredients in her fridge on a Sunday morning. From the char of the bolillo, to the crispness of the lettuce and tomato, and that vinegary heat from the jalapeños, the torta felt very homemade in the best way. Next time I would add beans to it. Salsa had a great flavor and good but not overbearing heat. Staff was super friendly and speedy. Would recommend.

Yelp
Love!! My husband and I got their breakfast burritos (chorizo and sausage) which were 10/10. Make sure to eat it with the salsa. We stocked up on conchas which were also delicious. The service was amazing and you can tell the food was made with a lot of care. We even enjoyed some freshly squeezed orange juice. Excited to come back soon!

Daniel S.

Yelp
Don't even come here ordered a burrito and sat in my truck eating it for the people who sold me the burrito called the security and he walked around my truck and tried to get pictures of my plates for no reason they just straight profiled me
google avatar

Cynthia K.

Yelp
Had a great breakfast burrito this morning from there. Fresh, no Grease good ingredients. The salsa is super Spivey but a must w every bite.
google avatar

Mayra R.

Yelp
I have become a regular of their chorizo breakfast burrito + potato. They have a soft consistency and the beans are magnificent. $8 is still a good deal and there is not a million choices for breakfast burritos around. Are you expecting mc donalds fast food speed?.. go to mc donalds. You can see the two ladies making the orders as soon as they come in. I just wish they were open a bit later on the weekend so I can sleep in lol.

Sean W.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast burritos. Solid food and value. Owners are very nice and gracious. Friendly and lively environment. Lived in the neighbourhood my whole life and catching up on the years I missed out on this gem.

Annie H.

Yelp
We popped in on a Saturday and Sunday morning while spending a weekend nearby. I was surprised by how not busy it was. The ladies were all very kind and friendly. We tried the bacon and sausage breakfast burritos. The beans were an excellent touch. They were delicious and the accompanying salsa was spicy and well flavored. We also tried muffins and the strawberry smoothie. Everyone in our group was very happy so we went both mornings.

Yelp
Great little restaurant. Has doughnuts as well as breakfast burritos. Tastes good. Price is good.
google avatar

Roger C.

Yelp
Haven't had a good breakfast burrito in a while. My order was potatoes, eggs and cheese. I added bacon, sausage and jalapeños. Ate a little more than half the burrito and I was full. If you're craving breakfast burritos, come try this spot.
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
Lástima que los burritos si están sabrosos, igual la salsa. Pero por el precio y la cara de caca que te da la cajera, no thank yous. No vale la pena!!!! Everything is too expensive nowadays to treat customers poorly. For that main reason we will not be back.

Morgan S.

Yelp
I have been coming here for awhile now, at first not to often. Cause covid...but not o go with my dad about once a week but went today alone. They're phenomenal and have never not been, they deserve the biggest shoutout. If you haven't been and are looking don't make the mistake of missing out and give them a try, all the workers are lovely. I 10/10 recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been on the hunt for the breakfast burrito in Orange County and decided to try the Mill Bakery after reading the great reviews. I came around 10:30 and ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito which was roughly $8 after tax. The burrito comes with eggs, chorizo, cheese, and beans. When I got home and cut into the burrito, I saw lots of delicious chorizo! Overall, the burrito was pretty salty and greasy. If I could, I'd give it a 3.5/5 because it was quick and not too expensive. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again, but if you're in the area, I'd give it a try! They have lots of delicious pasties as well.
google avatar

Lena S.

Yelp
Did not enjoy the burritos. The donuts were good though. Staff members were nice though.

Cecilia L.

Yelp
The workers are always with a bad attitude! They were training a new girl and she did a mistake with my order, some other lady come and correct her super rude in front of all the customers.

Bruce G.

Yelp
The breakfast burritos are inexpensive, traditional and delicious. I was very happy to find this spot. I will go again.

James V.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly, the burritos taste home made and the donuts and great and not greasy.

Yelp
The breakfast burritos are good. Came I've had burritos from here many many times but it's been a while. I came Friday around 10:30 am on my way to the freeway and bought a burrito and asked for hash browns but they didn't have any and offered potatoes so I agreed that was okay then I was told by the cook they didn't have potatoes either so I got a regular sausage burrito with bacon. It was okay but kind of small for $10. The ladies working were nice but I'm not sure if I'll be back to be honest.
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
Great panadería. They make sandwiches and breakfast burritos also. Everything I've had so far has been tasty.

Jonathan A.

Yelp
Big fan of their breakfast burritos. I drove all the way from West Covina because I was feeling nostalgic and realized I hadn't left a review of this place yet. 10/10.

Edmund S.

Yelp
Prices are sky high, bread is excellent... but $2.00 for one concha is rediculous.... At other fine bakeries concha's are five or some places four concha's for $1.00........ they mean to be careful with their prices cause they'll wind up like Zamora down the street. Their prices were sky high now they have nobody going to their restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Good burrito spot when you're craving a breakfast burrito. Fresh eggs, potatoes, beans, tortillas.
google avatar

Michael-Anthony T.

Yelp
Love how convenient this place is. If I am running a little late for my morning commute, I turn right into this place for a coffee and a quick breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito is actually really good and tasty. It isn't too big and is just the right size to get you feeling satisfied. The service is really quick and the workers are very nice. It's also a Panderia, so they have an array of Mexican pan to choose from and what was also cool, they have day-old pan which taste just as good and is half off. Overall, this place is convenient and really hits the spot when you're trying to get a quick bite.
google avatar

Yelp
The best (Pan) Mexican Bread around and super close to Irvine. They also have delicious breakfast burritos which are made of fresh ingredients and hit the spot with a cup of coffee. With their large selection of breads, fresh juices and breakfast burritos this place is #1 in my book.
google avatar

Mary R.

Yelp
I went in to order a Kings cake, they had a huge banner advertising them. I asked to buy one and the employee said no. She didn't give any explanation and I said do you have to pre order and she said yes. She didn't offer any other alternative and rudely turned us away. The sign outside didn't say preorder. I wanted to support a small local business, but apparently they didn't want my business.
google avatar

Mauricio L.

Yelp
No chocolate today, no bread or borrachos she told me they just made 4 pieces , and the woman with an attitude dumb how weird is not the first time I show up when they open and they tell you that they don't have some things, maybe it's not the same owner anymore .
google avatar

Blair C.

Yelp
I am not being dramatic when I say this, because it's just true. This place has the best breakfast burrito myself and my husband have ever had. I was just utterly shocked how delicious it was. The tortillas are homemade and fresh, you can totally taste that. And all the fillings are just so delicious. I got the burrito with sausage, eggs, cheese, beans and my husband got the chorizo one. We are just taken aback at how freaking good it is. We love breakfast burritos and have never had one this incredible. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We will be back regularly for sure!!!

Luis V.

Yelp
Worker gave us attitude for no reason. Asked if we were ready to order we thought we were. There was no one in line. We decided we would wait and let two guys who had just walked in to go instead and she gave us attitude about it.
google avatar

Lulu C.

Yelp
This place is bomb, they specialize in breakfast burritos and have anything from a classic beans & cheese burrito, ham & eggs, sausage and eggs etc. You can pretty much add anything to your burrito. You can make it a combo and add a bottle of water. for Only $4.50 + Tax! .. It feels homey and clean in here. Smells good and they have lots of pastries and coffee as well! The burrito I got was the Mexican egg scramble with beans. Omg it was sooo good, it didn't even need salsa or cheese.
google avatar

Yelp
I like this place. Sometimes when I'm craving a breakfast burrito but not really wanting to feel like I ate a whole animal all day, I go here. Their burritos are a decent size, not too big but definitely will fill you up. Pricing is less than other breakfast burritos because of this. Food 5/5: I like that you can get a burrito and also pastries on the side like a muffin for later. I'm pregnant right now so I usually save the muffin for later. My burrito just tasted exactly as described, a plus is the texture of the burrito wrap is chewy. Price 5/5: Burritos range from $4-5.50 here I believe. It's not as pricey because it's slightly smaller but at least you won't feel bloated the rest of the day. It'll probably keep you full until lunchtime. Ambiance 5/5: Looks like your typical Mexican burrito place except the workers are constantly cleaning so that's a big plus. Service 5/5: They were nice, they were quick. Helps when I want something quick to grab and go before work. I think I waited about 5-7 mins for my burrito, if you're in more of a rush, just grab a muffin, a coffee or some juice and go.
google avatar

Milad S.

Yelp
I ordered an egg and cheese burrito. It was salty. The size was incomparable to the famous Nate's just down the corner cor same price but no hashbrowns. Be aware the push you to pay cash or A DOLLAR CHARGE which is ridiculous. Also when I entered a staff lady was eating with hands and no mask comfortably!
google avatar

Julius P.

Yelp
I love there breakfast burritos but I have to say that every time I call to place my order they give me attitude and rush me with my order and then when I pick up my order it's the wrong one and they charge me extra and it happened twice now and when I call they gave me attitude about it. The place is good but they need to work on there attitude and to listen more to there customers.
google avatar

Eugene M.

Yelp
People!! That breakfast burrito!! 100 % BOMB!! I WILL BE BACK!! And should make the stop !!
google avatar

Holly W.

Yelp
Fresh tasting amazing tortillas and yummy breakfast burritos. The salsa and taste homemade too. We will definitely be back
google avatar

Edmund S.

Yelp
The quality of the bread has really gone down I don't know if they've changed bakers but in both locations the bread taste like stale bread. I remember when this place was the #1 bakery in Santa Ana now it is trash. It's an end of an era how sad
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
Breakfast Burrito Tour The price is right. The size is right. The marriage of smooth, creamy beans with melted queso Monterey is a perfect canvas upon which to build a happy breakfast burrito. With eggs the burrito runs 4.50. The #5 throws in potatoes at 4.99. It is 50 cents per extra, so I added bacon and it came out to 5.88 with tax. It's not a huge burrito but it's big enough that all but those who know who they are will be quite satisfied. It's comparable size-wise to Yellow Basket upon Dyer, which will hit you for 3 bucks more. Their fresh red salsa has good bite and perfect flavor to perk up the rich mix of papas, eggs, beans, and cheese. The crunch of bacon lends a toothsome texture to an otherwise velvety combination. You might not guess by the name or by the seeing the case full of doughnuts and pan dulce that these made-to-order beauties are lurking within. I will be back to try some other ingredient combinations. You should too!
google avatar

Jacky B.

Yelp
Costumer service here is non existent. I ordered and was charged for a hot chocolate and once the rest of the order was completed I was told there was no hot chocolate. I didn't care for a refund the lady was really rude.
google avatar

Shawn V.

Yelp
By far the best and freshest pan dulce in LA and Orange County. Seriously, there are other places nearby that have good Yelp reviews but simply are terrible. Not in the case of this Mill Bakery. These bakery items are well done and truly authentic. Do yourself a favor and also try their breakfast burritos. Excellent!!! You cannot go wrong with all of their items. Great tasting, fresh, and great prices. And not to mention their staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly.
google avatar

Jamie T.

Yelp
Breakfast burritos were decent... a little plain but quite filling. Oatmeal was quite strange to me... mostly hot milk with a scoop of oats. Service was alright at 6 am. Can't really complain.
google avatar

Shinell J.

Yelp
Great little Bakery in my work neighborhood. You can get a breakfast burrito for $4.50 and the ingredients are fresh and no store-bought beans! The ladies that work there are always friendly and welcoming even at 5:30 in the morning.
google avatar

Jeremy T.

Yelp
Would have loved to try it but had to cancel my order. They charge $1 yes a full dollar to pay with a debit card during a pandemic where cash handling should be avoided at all costs. You should be happy people are coming to your business and not penalizing for being safe.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow! I have lived by this place for the last year and just discovered it today. Was in the mood for a breakfast burrito and didn't feel like a gargantuan size one from nates Korner, nor did I want a ton of crispy hash browns in my burrito. So I came over here and was delightfully surprised! I had a number 6 burrito which came with sautéed tomatoes onions eggs cheese and beans... I opted out for the beans and instead got potatoes! Not fries or hasbrowns.. But actual soft boiled potatoes! The size of the burrito was just right.. Not too bug nit too small. Definitely a homemade feel to it and the red salsa was good as well. I wrote this interview after scarfing down my burrito... Sorry didn't take pics. It was delicious! I will be Coming back!
