Where to Eat Near Mount Rainier National Park | Eater Seattle

"First established as a cidery, Eatonville’s Mill Haus has attracted quite a following in the few years since it opened. Sip house-crafted ciders infused with regional inspiration like huckleberry and apricot on the expansive grounds that feature picnic tables and a water wheel. The food menu is small but solid: brie and apple flatbread, street tacos, smoked pork sliders, and a couple of salads if you prefer to keep it light. Live music frequently draws crowds of locals and visitors alike over the weekends." - Alicia Erickson

Google
Hidden gem on the way to Mt Rainier National Park. We loved the food as well as cider options. Their grilled chicken mozzarella pesto sandwich and smoked chicken street tacos were amazing! We also enjoyed their Haus Dry cider. The staff is friendly and atmosphere is cozy. Highly recommend!

Everything was amazing! The two guys in the kitchen are really doing an excellent job. I was also surprised by how fast the orders come out. The woman at the counter and the whole staff were so kind thank you so much! And the outdoor atmosphere is wonderful.

Google
Loved this place! The atmosphere was super cute and cozy, and the food was really tasty. They have a great selection of ciders and beers too, I got the seasonal marionberry cider which was delicious. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating — I sat inside at a table where I could look out at the Mill and koi pond. Such a pretty view! After I ate, I even got to feed the fish, which was a fun little bonus. Overall, everything was great — good food, good drinks, and a really nice vibe. I’d definitely come back!

Amber C.

Google
Food was amazing (vegetarian) and the cider was the best I’ve ever had. The staff were extremely nice. The atmosphere was so cool with the water wheel and all of the outdoor seating. 10/10 all around.

We've heard A lot about he Cider House, and have been meaning to go for quite some time. I'm so disappointed that we haven't been there before now! It was great! 😆 Their Huckleberry Cider was absolutely on point!!! The gluten-free options were amazing, and the seating was spectacular. Spectacular. We sat in the Pagoda surrounded by massive koi and a perpetually turning water wheel. It was beyond charming. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. And don't forget to order the cheesecake.for desert!

So good, what a surprise of a place in such a small town. After enjoying Mt. Rainier we needed some lunch and this was a delicious stop. Heads up that as a cider mill they don't have sodas or alcohol free ciders which was a bit of a bummer as a sober person but the food was very good. We got the pulled pork slider and the apple and Brie flat bread, both were better then we expected. I would visit again if ever in the area.

Google
We came on a Saturday about 530 with our 4yo, 2yo, and 7 month. The parking was full but they had parking just around the corner. They still had tables in the back but thankfully a family was leaving and we were able to get a table on the grass for the kids to play. The drinks are so good and sweet. I am unsure if the food always takes an hour or more but it did this time and so I would make sure you have snacks for your kids. Aside from that it was clean and everyone was kind. Lots of kids playing some being watched better than others.

Google
We've been wanting to take a road trip to Eatonville for awhile. A beautiful day at Alder Lake, downtown, and at the Mill Haus Cider Co. Such a cool vibe with little pockets of seating and activities. Fun for friends, couples or the family. The menu is limited but tasty. The haus salad was perfect combination of flavors and textures. The pork and chicken slides were also good.

Yelp
Such a fun place to eat, with great flavors on some traditonal foods, and great ciders. Staff and ambiance were great. You would not be unhappy to dine here

Yelp
This is an amazing venue/location. In addition to the inside area, they've got a huge outdoor area with a mixture of covered and uncovered seating, a gazebo for events (there was a wedding party the day I went), yard games, and overall nice landscaping/design. I think this would be a great place to rent out for a party or event. The ciders and food were solid. Staff were helpful and they have a very efficient system for getting orders out. No complaints from me. I don't come through this way often but I will definitely return here next time I'm in the area

Yelp
This place is so cool. There aren't many places to go in Enumclaw so be prepared for long lines and a long wait.. I mean.. we ordered 2 cups of stew and it was over 60 minutes. It is quite literally first come first serve. They do have a sign with updated wait time estimates for food so that helps. Just thought maybe soup in a cup would be faster.. since it's already cooked. But no. Slow as molasses.. BUT. Fabulous atmosphere, stew was super tasty, and the ciders were great. Loved the huckleberry and winter pear. Marion berry and habanero also good. Staff was genuinely nice. All around lovely place. Family friendly if you're in to that. Outside seating is super cool too. Will be back even though it's an hour drive from Tacoma..

Yelp
This was a great find while visiting Mt. Rainier. We came at 5:45 on a Friday and were able to get a seat without a wait. The setup of the restaurant is order at a counter near the entrance, get a table number, then go find your own spot and staff will bring your food to you. There is lots of open air seating surrounded by plants. Definitely kid/family friendly! We were lucky enough to come on a live music night which was a delight. We ordered the Huckleberry Sour and Huckleberry Lemonade both of which were delicious. For food we got a Pepperoni Flatbread and a Brie & Apple Flatbread which came out hot and good! It was a bit of a wait for the food which was no problem for us, however.
google avatar

Yelp
We had lunch at Mill Haus Cider Co. in Eatonville and tried the Brie & Apple flatbread and Caprese sandwich, paired with their Huckleberry cider. The food was delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented. The cider had a refreshing berry taste without being too sweet. The outdoor seating area is spacious with lots of tables, and staff actually bring your food out to you. It's a bit of a walk from the counter, so I joked it felt like a mini workout! Service was friendly and attentive. Parking was a bit tight, but there was an attendant helping manage the flow, which made it easier. Overall, the atmosphere was nice, but the location is pretty remote -- unless you're nearby, it's probably not worth a long trip just for this place.

Yelp
Cute outdoor space. Perfect place to grab a cold cider after the long hike at the falls. It's super cute and have an ample of outdoor space. The ciders are delicious with unique flavors like habanero lime (fav) & apricot peach and they offer some food as well.
google avatar

Mel M.

Yelp
The outdoor seating is AMAZING! So many beautiful spots to sit and enjoy your food and drinks. There is flowers and trees all around you. So gorgeous. There is indoor seating available as well but we chose to sit outside. The cider was great and the food always delicious. I enjoyed the burnt ends slider while my husband had the German sausage plate. Both excellent. Service was quick and efficient. I'd love to come again with a group as there are yard games available to play. We also saw some board games inside! Highly recommend stopping in.
google avatar

Maggie B.

Yelp
Mill Haus Cider is so cute! The ciders were great -- we got a peach one and a marionberry one. We also got a slice of cake, which I thought was a bit on the pricier side for what it was. There's a ton of outdoor seating and there was a market going on when we visited, which was super cute and fun! We bought some local art and goodies. Quite the gem that we stumbled upon on our way to Iron Creek Campground.
google avatar

Chelsea R.

Yelp
The ciders were definitely fun and different! I loved the variety! The atmosphere was fun. Inside was warm and cozy and outside had all sorts of seating from large communal seating to a two tops with a little fire pit. Something for everyone! The food was good. Nothing I rolled my eyes in the back of my head for, but also not bad. This was a cute little spot. One and done for us. But cute.
google avatar

Brion S.

Yelp
We are starting our Washington trip at the Mill Haus Cider. Indoor seating as well as an out door covered tables with heaters and fire rings around the grounds. Starting with the ciders, great selection from sweet to dry The food selection was varied and reasonably priced. I had the "Burnt End Sliders". Great flavor and the burnt ends were tender. Our servers were quick and friendly and very knowledgeable of the food and drink menu. The Mill Haus is dog friendly and has water bowls for the furry ones. I took a few bottles of cider home and cannot wait to crack a bottle open

Yelp
Stopped by here for drinks and dinner with our family (2 small children) on a weekend night. Just happened to drive past them (found them organically) and saw how cool it looked. We got to our destination and needed to go back that way to go home. Since we passed it again and we were all hungry, we stopped by. Indoor seating isn't huge but the outside is awesome.. lots of space and beautiful ambiance. It was just cold with small kids to sit out there. We ordered the almond brie, smoked chicken sliders, and burnt ends sliders + two ciders (one for my husband and one for me). Ciders are all delicious. The food... wow, amazing. All of our dishes were flavorful and yummy. Only downfall is, it is pretty pricey for what you get but ambiance is great, food is tasteful, and the ciders are on point.
google avatar

Kaelynn M.

Yelp
We enjoyed all of the ciders and the ambiance of this restaurant! It was so nice sitting by the fire and enjoying a cider on a nice spring day.

Cecilia E.

Yelp
We ran into this place while visiting Elbe for the scenic train ride. This place did not disappoint! The smoked sliders hit the spot! The cider flight felt a bit too intense for my stomach and some flavors I couldn't really tell the flavor but overall was a great experience. Inside very pretty and the outdoors seemed beautiful too but we visited on a cold night.

Dan J.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the food Not a bad cider to be found Service.... The entire south was amazing including the owner who is there working his butt off, bussing tables, taking care of customers and ambience RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING I cannot wait to come back
google avatar

Emily Alice H.

Yelp
Anytime we go it's fast and everyone is so friendly. The staff are just phenomenal! The photo is from fall, the place is just beautiful. Swinging by for a cold cider after a hike on Mt Rainier is a must!
google avatar

Gaby B.

Yelp
Love it here. I wish it wasn't an hour away from home, I would come in a lot more often. Really delicious cider and beautifully manicured grounds. So many spaces to sit, lots of covered seating with heaters so you can stay warm and dry during the wetter months. In the summer they have mini picnic tables for kids and corn hole. They have a stage for live music I'm assuming, and they also host a lot of events. The food is really delicious, I love the pear and brie flatbread as well as the burnt end sliders.

C D.

Yelp
5/5 for a very cool venue, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. Bonus if the craft market is going on while you're there! 3/5 for ok food that was not very flavorful, and just "meh". The bbq sliders were decent, but recommend skipping the BLT and tacos. A fun place to try if you're in the area!
google avatar

Alea O.

Yelp
Came on a weekday night and it was quiet. I've heard it gets very busy on the weekends and they accommodate very well. I ordered the pulled pork and it was delicious! Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. I then got the soft pretzel and seemed like it was cooked for a lil too long but made up for it with the mustard and jam. The ciders were all very good as well would definitely come back again.

Jacob V.

Yelp
This place blew our minds -- we were not expecting to find such a beautiful, communal, and fun spot way out here! We ordered the Caprese salad, homemade cheesecake, and two flights of cider. Everything tasted great! The service and live music made the experience extra special, and we loved how happy the entire venue felt. Thanks for having us! We will be back!

Bill B.

Yelp
A friend suggested we try the Mill Haus Cider Co., and are we glad we did! There's indoor seating, but if the sun is out, head straight for the patio. You'll enjoy the giant waterwheel, the flowers, and (hopefully) the lovely weather. We ordered the smoked chicken sliders, which were delicious. We didn't ask, but apparently the chicken is smoked on the premises. And the brioche buns make a perfect pairing. We almost missed the dessert, as it's not on the official menu but rather on a blackboard behind the counter. We tried the Basque cheesecake. Oh là là! Excellente! I've never had a better dessert that didn't involve chocolate. Highly recommended. The staff is cheerful and helpful. The prices are reasonable. And dogs are welcome. If you're driving anywhere near Eatonville, Mill Haus is well worth the stop.

Yelp
Awesome outdoor patio area with koi pond. We came before opening and they let us walk around and hang out. German sausage sampler very good and habanero cider.
google avatar

Gabriella V.

Yelp
Not sure if it was just busy that day or if it always is like this, but the service was pretty sub par and the bartender was very short with us. The set of sliders were very small for the price and the cider was not the best. The atmosphere was alright. Hopefully the next time I visit it will have improved.
google avatar

Lynnsie L.

Yelp
I picked this place off of Google maps since we were coming to the area anyways. I'm glad we did because this place is such a lively, relaxing and beautiful place. This place must have put another restaurant near by out of business because I see that one is for sale now. The food here is fresh and came out fast! Once you go inside you order your food and either sit down inside or enjoy the extremely spacious court yard outside. I saw people with dogs enjoying the fire pit and kids playing yard games. I ordered a flight of cider which they were all delicious, my favorite being the huckleberry. I also ordered the burnt ends sliders, 10/10, a little messy but what sliders aren't. I wish I would have ordered the cheesy bread because those looked delicious too! I intend to come back here once we're in the area again!

Yelp
I'm not sure what would bring you to Eatonville, WA but if you do a stop at MIll Haus is a must. As the kids say this is a vibe. Outdoor Cider distillery serves up an amazing collection of cider beers from dry to sweet such as Habanero, Salt and Lime, Mulberry, and my personal favorite Prickly Pear. Plenty of seating in different locations on the property with a stage for live music and cornhole for some entertainment. In addition the service is as great and the food was surprising and unsuspecting. At the End of the Day we came for a Grooms dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the charm of Mill Haus and its staff. If you live close or driving through take an hour or two and enjoy this diamond in the rough!
google avatar

Alysia D.

Yelp
Just stopped for a drink and a snack. The company has really done a great job of creating a fun outdoor experience. Multiple different seating areas. Space for games, a fire pit, an area to have a large party/gathering. Not pictured with huckleberry lemonade.

Yelp
Mill Haus is a short five minute drive from the Little Mashel Falls trailhead, so after hiking it me and my boyfriend knew we had to stop by! It's been on our list forever and I'm so glad we had a nice day to check it out. We weren't expecting it to be so busy, but they had a vendor market going on so it was bustling! It was a cool addition though, we had a good time checking out all of the local makers and still were able to find a place to sit. I'm not a big cider girlie so I ended up going with a beer and was happy with the selection that they had. My boyfriend loves cider so he got a flight. I took a sip of the raspberry cran one and while he thought it was more on the sweet side, I thought it was actually REALLY good. The food wasn't exactly stellar but it was decent. We got the carnitas tacos and the chicken sliders. I personally liked the chicken sliders better. We saw tons of people ordering the flatbreads and I think that's what we'll go for next time - they looked fantastic! Love that this place is kid-friendly, too. We will definitely be making a couple of stops here this summer with them. Looking forward to trying more!

Bob O.

Yelp
Great, great place. I didn't know I loved cider. Wife got me a flight, it was all delish. Flatbread, pretzel and sliders all top notch. Can't wait to go back

Kat S.

Yelp
Food was tasty, nice presentation. We sat outside, warm day, beautiful gardens. The people working there were pleasant.
google avatar

Kassandra M.

Yelp
Food was amazing! cheesy bread was the best ! Service is great, everything was very fresh, the place in general was very beautiful and has lots of seating. The view is very pretty when you sit outside.
google avatar

Ronald C.

Yelp
Food was good, ambiance was awesome and customer service while there was great. The problem was days later when I realized the triple charged my card. I tried calling them but they refused to reverse the transactions. So I was forced to dispute them with my bank. This place is a total scam. Be careful using your card here and if you do, watch your bank account.
google avatar

Raisa S.

Yelp
My friend and I came here after hiking in the area. There is tons of beautiful outdoor seating and a band was warming up to play while we ate. There are also some lawn games available to play, and the outdoor seating is dog friendly! My friend had the veggie tacos and I had the burnt ends sliders and the cider flight. The sliders were delicious and came with a gochujang sauce that had quite a kick! For my cider flight, I tried the habanero lime, huckleberry, apricot peach, and prickly pear ciders - such unique flavors! The prickly pear and apricot peach were my favorite. I'd recommend this place and would absolutely eat here again when I'm in the area!
google avatar

Kimberlee W.

Yelp
The grounds are so attractive from the street that we decided to stop in. Unfortunately, once we tasted our food, we were greatly disappointed. The Caprese salad was overly sweet with added honey and balsamic glaze, which is not what we expected. Traditionally Caprese has balsamic vinegar and olive oil with salt and pepper. So if you want a verrrrry sweet Caprese, this is the place. We also tried the brie/apple flatbread and the dough seems homemade, but it was freezer burnt and tasted like it was made in Grandma's closet... stale and woody. Ick! We also tried the smoked chicken tacos but were super disappointed when we saw that they are not taco size, they are very miniature-sized street tacos... there was a lot of sauce and hardly any meat... overly smoky. We felt like we had just chewed on charcoal from a campfire after. Hugely disappointed overall.
google avatar

Marlore C.

Yelp
Food: great bar food. Quite tasty! Enjoyed everything we ordered Service: good friendly service Ambiance: Such a cool outdoor vibe. It's one of my favorite outdoor spaces for a restaurant!!! I loved the different areas and the outdoors coverings! Will come back if I'm passing through again!
google avatar

Yelp
The live music was amazing. Food - delicious. Fires - perfect! Grateful this family friendly venue is available close by!

Emma S.

Yelp
After wanting to go here for over a year I was so disappointed. Having customers stand in line to place their orders like a fast food restaurant with double the prices immediately turned me off. High prices, Very limited menu. $8 for a kid cheese quesadillas is ridiculous. I was shocked at how small the portions are when served. Can't even consider what we got as meals and it was still over $20 a person for a snack and drink. The huckleberry lemonade tasted like crystal light. I wanted a cider flight but was informed they didn't have any ready flight glasses and to come back in 15 minutes to see if I could order it then. Umm no thank you.

Yelp
11th Anniversary stop for lunch and great drinks. Beautiful day and a beautiful patio. Will be back

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere and friendly staff. They were chill and smiling. Need a crew that understands hospitality in an open environment like this. Did not eat but the food on the other tables looked scrumptious. Loved the cider display and variety. Definitely will try the whole experience again.
google avatar

Yelp
The outside area and ambiance is a great little area. When we came they were having a paint your pottery night, which was a neat concept when the weather was very nice outside. We didn't paint but enjoyed watching others paint, play connect four, cornhole, and other yard games. The cider & beer were good. They had Stone Brewing Salt & Lime Lager on tap, which is a favorite of ours. The smoked meats on their menu items were very fresh, I enjoyed the chicken in particular. We had the tacos, sliders, and a Apple/Brie flatbread.
google avatar

TC B.

Yelp
We stopped in after hiking Little Mashel Falls (and because I've been wanting to come out here). We ordered a flight of ciders that included huckleberry, prickly pear, apricot peach, and ginger lemongrass along with a full pint of the apricot peach. We added the Haus BLT and the burnt end sliders. The ciders are fantastic. There wasn't a bad one in the batch and they catered to lots of tastes - from fruity to dry. I loved the apricot peach - perfect blend of fruity and dry. The Haus BLT was awesome. It's also much larger than you might think. The burnt end sliders were great. But... the plate is way too small for the very messy BBQ. I loved them but they ended up everywhere. The salads look fantastic. Two of the group ordered them and they were huge! Our British friend was a little bummed that they don't do half pints of cider, but this is the US. Well worth the stop!

Yelp
Love it--we have so much fun, but a few recommendations... (1) ice maker, on hot days please - we need water that is cold (2) misters off all the rooftops ... so hot (3) we came today for Hawaii night - would love if they offered Mai tais and pina coladas--maybe a special liquor license for special holidays??
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
We were invited to an Hawaiian themed charity night and were introduced to a really fun cidery and restaurant. Besides the excellent choices of ciders, there was staged music and hula lessons. The grounds included the main bar building and a series of breezeways, shelters and stone paths. Fun time was had by all.

Yelp
Been going to Eatonville all my life and never new this place existed!! Not sure if it's new or been around?! Great place to stop before or after going up to the mountains!! Very warm atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food. I already want to go back!! They have a beautiful indoor and outdoor seating area and tons of room for events and parties!!! Highly highly recommend!!!
google avatar

Meg M.

Yelp
This was the cutest cidery ever! I looked up cideries after a long drive and ended up pulling up to this one with my family. We were so surprised to see how big the cidery was with an amazing outdoor area with lots of seating and games. I ended up getting a flight of Huckleberry, Prickly Pear, Cran Raspberry and Habanero Lime. The cider was good and my favorite was the Habanero Lime. The flight was $9 which I was happy about and we got our flights right away. I would highly recommend visiting if you're in the area! It looks like they have good food too.
google avatar

Kim G.

Yelp
We love this place!! Amazing sliders and cider. We make a point to stop here every year on our travels north from Southern California. The pork BBQ sliders are my favorite, but you cannot go wrong with the burnt ends or chicken. Apricot-Peach and Marionberry cider so delicious! We stumbled on this place only a year ago and it is now an annual pilgrimage. The outdoor dining is amazing and the staff so nice!! Stop here or go wrong in your life!!
google avatar

Vanessa L.

Yelp
This space is beautiful! The cider is great not overly sweet. It's a little confusing there is a building that you can order only beverages. Then there is a area to Oder food and beverages. Dogs are allowed there are outdoor games. There are only two bathrooms that we noticed one for men and one for women they are single person use but the women's had a second toilet so maybe they are adding a stall at some point. The only down side was the staff was friendly enough but not very interactive with guest my guess is because of how busy it is. My friend is Celiac and while they had gluten free options she almost missed out on eating because they didn't explain well how they avoid cross contamination. Thankfully a cook came out an explained they take it very seriously and that when informed they wash the cook station before preparing the food 10/10 for that.

Yelp
Prefect kick off to the summer. Super cute grounds, very kids friendly, good food , great service, super location. Will be back
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
Ambiance was blissful. The water wheel and fun environment made for a great outdoor lunch with the family! Service was quicker than expected. They have two areas to order and they bring everything out to your table. Drinks only has a separate line making it convenient for refills. I had the prickly pear cider. It was delicious! We also had the special Thai chili wings, they had good flavor but I prefer my wings to be crunchy not soggy. This also came with pickled green beans which were good. We had their chefs salad and we loved all of the toppings. Last but not least the rib tip sliders.. Definitely a go to when we go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh my word, I really enjoyed our lunch visit to Mill Haus! First thing to note is that the parking lot directly at the restaurant is small considering how crazy large the restaurant is. Fortunately, there is additional parking directly across the street. Ambiance: This might've been the most relaxing meal I've ever had given the atmosphere. This place was jam packed but we effortlessly ordered at the counter and snagged a fire pit table right alongside the pond. The wife and I were able to enjoy a private conversation while watching the koi fish and listening to the water mill go 'round. Food: I ordered the carnitas tacos, the wife had the sliders, and we shared a salad. The salad and sliders were killer, but the tacos left a tiny bit to be desired. Overall, it was great and I can't wait to explore more of the menu. Service: service was super friendly and helpful! You will certainly love their staff.

Carolyn T.

Yelp
Food was okay. However, waited 1 hour for food and our whole party was served except for one person. Went to the kitchen to see what was happening with the last order and they said it was being made. 15 minutes later, went back to cancel the order and was told it hadn't come out yet because they ran out of an ingredient. An hour and a half later and they didn't even bother to come out and let me know.
