Service, location, space, comfort, and quality are all words that come to mind when I think of my recent stay at the Mill House Inn. At so many other properties in the US, lost is the art of hospitality - not the case here. I haven't received this level of attentive care and detail at another property in quite some time.
Having never been to the Hamptons, I took Mom "out East" during her visit this past weekend. After all, she had been hearing me talk about this little slice of heaven for 10+ years. I was torn between (this property) and the Topping Rose House, but ultimately chose the Mill House based on the slightly lower per-night prices and the fact that I simply love East Hampton.
From the moment we arrived at the property, we were treated with genuine care and fabulous service, plus invited to enjoy an array of homemade snacks (plus dog food and treats) and beverages at our disposal. The front desk advised that we make reservations for breakfast the next morning (served between 8:30 and 10:30AM), as the in-house dining room would quickly fill up.
Our 600+ square foot room included: kitchenette (mini-fridge stocked with alkaline water and seltzer, microwave, sink, cabinets, utensils/cups/plates/silverware), dining table with four chairs, two large and super comfy sofas, spa robes, a fire place, TV, king-sized bed, shower with two heads, two sinks (one for each of us), a separate whirlpool bathtub, and a doggy bed for my pup.
Breakfast at the Inn was quite extensive and generous. The ingredients were locally sourced and prepared with precision.
Mom and I had the best weekend and would wholeheartedly recommend the Mill House Inn to anyone! We are very picky women, having traveled extensively, and cannot wait to return to the star of East Hampton (and the rest of the Hamptons, for that matter).
