"The co-owner of much-lauded Dallas Italian restaurant Mille Lire and his family were among the victims of a plane crash in Addison that killed ten people. Ellard opened Mille Lire in 2017, bringing classic Italian cuisine from chef Giuliano Matarese, brother-in-law of Brian Ellard, to its space at 3102 Oak Lawn Avenue." - Amy McCarthy

"Mille Lire is a delightful upscale Italian haunt in Oak Lawn, perfect for date night. Gaze at your honey over an appetizer of lamb meatballs served with broccoli rabe, feta cheese, and tomato sugo which is covered with a layer of freshly baked flat bread, before moving onto some intensely delicious takes on Italian originals." - Alaena Hostetter

It's exciting to visit one of the best Italian restaurants Dallas again! My first time here was for a lunch meeting. I had a fun date night at this Oak Lawn favorite. The staff was helpful and the setting was romantic. Chef Giuliano has put his heart into these dishes and you will love everything. Get the Lamb Meatballs!

Excellent experience! What felt like a fleet of wait staff took care of us the entire time, and the food was exquisite. Their wine selections were impressive and the ambience was bar none. If you need a nice date night or want to relax with friends after work this is the place for it. Come prepared with $$$ though because you definitely get the higher price with higher value. Totally worth it!

Hands down the best cacio e pepe I’ve ever had! Just want to get that out there before I write anything else :) We came here for dinner for my friend’s birthday. We got there early and got some drinks at the bar and they have happy hour even on Saturdays until 7pm which is a plus! We were seated and got our orders in quickly. I was debating between the monk fish and the cacio e pepe but the waitress recommended the latter for first timer at Mille Lire. And boy was she right! It came out looking like a small portion but I ended up having a little leftover. My husband ordered the monk fish and that was really good as well. The lasagna, and the seafood pasta were also well liked at the table. The only thing I didn’t love was the melon with prosciutto. The combination didn’t turn out as good as I imagined. The desserts were also very good. We got the creme brûlée which was delicious. A bonus was that they brought our whole table champagne for our friend’s birthday! Overall we had such a great time and enjoyed amazing food there. We will definitely be back!

Phenomenal Dinner by Chef Giuliano Matarese - Extraordinary Pizza, Burrata, Quail, Branzino - Exquisite and Absolutely Delicious Tiramisu - Lively Atmosphere - Loved it all including our table’s Five Stars Service! (Friday, June, 2018) Fabulous was their brunch - Each dish came out perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious- Loving their “Frito Misto”; “Crab Benedict”; “Bloody Mary” - Beautiful and chic is their interior with gorgeous lighting - Five Stars it would be if not for the friendly yet undertrained table service, perhaps and truly hopefully next time! (Sunday, May, 2018)

The 5 ⭐️ are deserved. All was perfect: - the welcoming at the front door is the best ever! - the service excellent, and the staff very knowledgeable about the menu - food is outstanding!! We had fritto misto with a heavenly cherry tomato sauce, grilled octopus cooked to perfection and tagliatelle. The perfect texture - the cocktails are good too

I’ve been waiting soo long to try this place!! And although it’s decent, it’s a little overhyped. I mean it’s a super nice restaurant, from the decor to the feel of it. I will say that I’m a big fan of the baked oysters! This is probably the best thing I’ve had here! I got the spaghetti Calabresi and I think the dish is just okay. None of the flavors really stood out to me. I would also say the service is mediocre here. It took a good 10-15 minutes for them to bring out bread after we ordered.. and maybe I wouldn’t have minded so much had I not been so incredibly hungry, but this day.. I minded! I would like to give them a second chance because I am hoping that this was just a fluke and they will wow me my next time since the oysters had such great potential!

Great authentic Italian food. The chef/owner does a great job making sure the food is excellent. The service though was atrocious. A two course dinner took us over 1.5 hours even though there was less than a half dozen tables and multiple servers. The manager had to set the table and deliver our bread service because our server was so slow. Unfortunately he abandoned us after that and our server continued to move through molasses. Hopefully you will get a better server because the food is delicious.

Lunchtime and someone else way paying, so this review is all about the food and experience :) I did the lunch special (pick an appetizer and a secondi): went for the Burrata Caprese to start and the Pappardelle Bolognese for the meal. The ball of cheese, olive oil/balsamic drizzle and all the bits and pieces on the plate were tasty: the unripe “crisp” tomatoes were a sad addition. The ‘sketti was just fabulous: the meaty sauce, the perfect noodles. Wow! Service was perfect.
